Backstage News On WWE’s New Plans For Dolph Ziggler & The Miz

According to one source, the reason The Miz did a quick, angry appearance on commentary during Monday’s RAW was to set up a future tag-team.

Apparently the idea is to team Miz up with Dolph Ziggler, who also began the seeds of the new team, which is set to be somewhat of a “disgruntled angry men” tag-team, when he cut the “shoot” promo on the WWE App recently.

Get rid of Miz and better push Ziggler. I want to witness something like this again… Ziggler is too damn good to be with The We dont care !!!!

      • RUSSO

Watching this video make me confirm that those “superstars” always look better when they have some people around them, like as a valet or stable; Del Rio looked better when he had Ricardo Rodriguez as his ass-licker butler, and also Ziggler looked better when he had a strong guy as his bodyguard and a petit girl as his “something”

        • superturbo

Agreed, turning Dolph into a babyface was a mistake. Back in the classic WWF era days; Ziggler, Big E Langston and AJ Lee would’ve been a great triad team for a good 7 or 8 years tops not barely a year as it is with today’s WWE’s era.

They should re-unite the 3 of them again as they had something together.

          • Optimus Prime

I think it was a good idea to break them all up, but Ziggler could’ve stayed heel … and ironically, both AJ and Big E are champions now and Ziggler is jobbing :(

    • Forceton Banfodder

Ziggler’s disgruntled, Miz is disgruntled, Bryan’s disgruntled, Punk’s quit. The Rhodes are getting shafted… story about ROH on WWE’s website?

Bigger picture? I can see it and it’s beautiful.

      • RUSSO

A “everybody disgrunted” era? Or maybe Aggression/Attitude Era 2.0?

        • Forceton Banfodder

This is a transition story arc. Lines are being drawn and sides are being taken.

      • Y2J

I just hope WWE can see this too.

        • Forceton Banfodder

          Wait and watch.

      • pwnez

We heard a while ago that ROH could end up working with WWE. Maybe they are finally going to pull the trigger and involve them in a storyline. I’m not going to get my hopes up, we could just be reading into this a little too much.

        • Forceton Banfodder

No, that’s not what I meant at all. ROH will continue to be its own entity. I’m talking about the overall story arc. I think is starting to show itself.

      • yrabadi

Would be great, wouldn’t it? And how happy with AJ Styles be? ;)

      • Jeff

well the nao are giving the tag division a nice boost.

      • Bushwald Sexyface

Glad I’m not the only one that can see it.

        • Forceton Banfodder

The Miz appearance during RAW seemed like an obvious giveaway, if the story is headed where I think it is, 2014 could be awesome. If its what I think…

          • AVPredator4985

This is just what the young guys need to establish themselves.

      • AVPredator4985

Like I’ve said before, I think this WHOLE thing is a work. Everything. WWE has just never played this angle before, and it’s working. If it is a work, finally something new

        • Forceton Banfodder

          Shhh… don’t jinx it.

          • AVPredator4985

I mean…uhh…. It’s still real to me dammit

      • Buzzard Follower

i see it to but i dont trust wwe to go through with it

        • Forceton Banfodder

That’s why I don’t want to say it out loud.

    • pwnez

I couldn’t care less about Miz but as long as Ziggler is pushed i’m happy.

      • Pwnes Dad

One source = dirtsheets lying imagination

        Eat crap “journalists”

      • Jeff

Miz is a hard worker just as ziggler, bryan, punka and the rest.

        • Ayatollah of rock N rolla

hard worker outside the ring sure, inside not so much.

        • pwnez

I never said he wasn’t a hard worker, but that doesn’t change the fact that he isn’t a good wrestler. I’m sorry but I don’t find him to be entertaining.

          • Ayatollah of rock N rolla

Really?… Really.Really?!REALLY! Well guess what they dont make the show just for you so shut up. Im so sick of you. You are a classic “malcontent”. Feel free to look it up. Chavo mari con

            • pwnez

Shut up, you’re not the Miz so stop with the “OMG REALLY?!?!” crap. Awe, did my opinion make you mad? Ha! You’re so sick of me. Like I give a sh*t how you feel about me. Go cry about it.

      • SOBI

This could be great now adays its almost rare to have a team in which both guys have mic skills they can become better than miz and morrison
and ofcourse they’ll end up feuding each other so there is a good 3 to 4 months of good screen time and wins heading their ways.

    • superturbo

Push Dolph Ziggler but don’t condemn him to tag teams, as thats a clear sign of not pushing him properly as a singles star.

When The Rock, Stone Cold, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Jericho looked to be pushed during the Attitude era did they go into the tag team division (barring; Eddie & Chavo in ‘Los Guerreros’), simple answer; “NO!” So don’t put Ziggler into a tag team as his push should obviously come as a singles star not tag team wrestler!

Disgruntled angry men” tag-team = Creative has nothing for you yet again etc?

      • yrabadi

I get what you’re saying, but I think ANYTHING at this point would be something for Dolph. Fact is they just have nothing for him. His character has no direction or purpose. Give him that, even if it means teaming him up with The Miz. Something great could come of this.

        • Cujo999

Honestly, this is very good for Dolph. He floundered after they split AJ and Big E. away from him, and their characters hid his weaknesses. Miz is good on the mike, which is a weak point for Dolph. Ziggler helps drag up Miz’s match quality because while Miz is ok in the ring, he’s nothing special at all. Good pairing, honestly, with a very New Age Outlaws feel to it, Miz, of course, being the “Road Dogg” of the team and Dolph being the “Billy Gunn.”

      • DonteM

Might not be attitude era…but didn’t stone cold team with triple h to form the power trip?? Didn’t Chris jericho team with Benoit?? Eddie also teamed with Saturn, Malenko, etc…i’m just saying most champions will eventually go on to be tag teams, maybe its just Zigglers time.

        • superturbo

All those teams up you mentioned were so minor though including the excellent; Triple H & Austin “Power Trip” duo! Which sadly got derailed by Triple H’s quad injury in May/June of 2001.

    • captaindaddy72

Yes yes yes this tag team will be one of the best in a very long time. I will love 2 see the miz and dolph return 2 promise in that team cuz I know they will. They are most definitely future tag team champions

    • yrabadi

I dig this. I dig this quite a bit. Just DOOOO something with Ziggler. That’s all I ask.

      • SOBI

When I first saw Miz’s segment during raw I thought that they were trying to make him like Punk you know “speaks his mind” sort of guy.
never thought they’d put this into play and its better cause Miz on his lonesome is quite annoying

        • yrabadi

Yeah, when I saw it I thought that was their way of making a joke of the Punk situation. Kinda like a rib.

    • Jeremy-County Roberts

I always love reading the Miz haters. So many jealous people. The guy went from a nobody to a somebody. His girlfriend is hotter than all of yours. He makes more money than all of you. Just live with it.

      • pwnez

I can’t stand when people use the ‘jealousy’ card. No one is bashing him because he has money or because he made a name for himself or because his girlfriend is attractive. Come on, dude, do you really believe that?

I don’t find Miz to be a good wrestler, his mic skills are overrated and I just can’t buy him being a main eventer. His forgettable WWE title reign didn’t help things either.

      • Reality

more like a somebody (WM main event) to a nobody.

      • AVPredator4985

We dislike the Miz because he’s boring to watch, and he’s on the show we watch to be entertained. If you’re not entertaining, why are you on TV?

      • Guest

I honestly think it’s because he’s white and people can’t accept him for who he is.

    • Ares

      Make it happen WWE.

Idk why people hate on the miz so much. The dude isnt the greatest, but he’s pretty solid for what he is (mir carded). I guess people have been conditioned to just hate hate hate when they see someone’s name, regardless of what’s going on (Cena comes to mind.). If the WWE presents them right (at the right time), it could work. Both men have enough talent to make something like this work. Miz is wayyyy better as a heel, and Ziggler is just… Awesome lol.

Oh and give them time to speak on the mic. One thing the WWE does that’s detrimental to the tag team division is that they really dont get any mic time.

    • ibeBrave

    • JuanCabrera

If this gives us more Ziggler matches and less Miz commentary, I’m all for it!

    • aj

Well jeez, the commentators could have at least mentioned the Miz after he cut that quick promo instead of pretending it never happened.

    • scott

Please no. Don’t put Ziggler next to that talentless loser

    • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

I don’t understand the hatred towards the Miz, but the overwhelming support of Darth Ziggler, who haves no mic skills nor an interesting personality. Like CM Badonkadunk, WWE tried giving the World Heavyweight Belt to Darth Ziggler, but people were more interested in AJ Lee than Ziggler. I honestly prefer Mr. Ass over Ziggler, which is SAYING A LOT!

I hope the Miz the best and ignore the haters!

      • Kaiba
        • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

A promo for is not the same as actually being in the ring on Raw on the mike like Miz and Jericho. Also, that promo you sent me was just average and he sounds like he’s on his period like CM Badonkadunk

          • raVen

you are right it’s not the same thing because he never gets the chance to cut a promo in the ring..

            • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

He did when he was World Heavyweight Champion, but AJ Lee had better mic skills than him when they were together, which made him look bad.

            • raVen

i liked his stuff with AJ actually. But yeah the guy is pretty mellow and does need to find that extra level on the mic but by no means is he bad…and AJ is stellar so that’s not really a knock on D Bry imo

    • Progressed_Now

I don’t see what the problem is. previously established single guys made awesome tag teams in the past. Triple H & Austin, killer team. Taker & Kane, wicked. Jericho & Benoit, awesome grouping. HHH/HBK…….are you ready? Flair & Eugene……oh wai, nevermind.
Batista & Flair/Orton, Miz & Big Show, Big Show & Jericho………I can go on and on. and since the tag team division is getting amped up, I reckon they’d be a pretty good team. heelz.

    • TGov

It’s great that they’re focusing on tag teams and all but why with the New Age Outlaws? I get the return to bring in ratings but why are they tag champs, this is ridiculous.
And I’ve never liked the Miz however I didnt mind him at the broadcasting table the other week, too bad he’s not staying there. I hope this team doesn’t hold back Ziggler anymore, and I also hope he doesn’t walk out either, he’s to talented and WWE is being very stupid with him.
It’s sad to see Triple H basically get the reigns of the company and brings his “boys” back into the spotlight again, that is just selfish. Rather than the New Age Outlaws why not put the tag titles on the Usos? I dont get it and it’s getting very frustrated.
Don’t even get me started with the Daniel Bryan situation… ok I’ll stop now lol…

    • Matt Gallagher

This is cool bc both guys seem like they’re best friends outside the ring

    • Bryan

But fans want Dolph to be face and actually doing something worth his talent but god how many times are WWE going to drop the ball on Ziggler but he finally quits?

      • Bryan

        *before he finally quits

    • Alex Dowie

      Well at least its something

    • Reality

      oh God no…

    • Phoenix Ramsey

I want Aj to get disgruntled and slap Stephanie! Could put a fire under the ass of the diva’s division.

    • Lemonz

So, like an “AwesomeTruth” team, just more entertaining. Would work if they placed them as heels, this could work out, I love it! :D

    • Noah

Really?.These two as a tag team?.Who cares?.I’ll change the channel when there on like I always do.Same with Daniel Bryan.

    • Johnson

Good, now make them both bad assses. No more of this “I’m the Miz and I’m awesome crap” and no more of this show off BS. No more of that pretty boy nonsense. Change their attires and their overall attitudes in the ring and make them bad assses.

    • Ninjastar

This is how this story will play out, Miz / Ziggler a tag team , in the coming weeks , they become tag teams champs, win a few fights hold the belts for awhile. then after about a few months ,they lose the belts Miz turns on Ziggler , starting up the feud between them for a few matches, in the end ziggler wins this feud, then ziggler goes on to the next belt for the IC for atleast a year , then drops that belt and moves on to the bigger belt , and wins the HWC belt at WM31 and becomes the new champ for 2015 ,

    • Hershey Maxwell Barber

At least we get quite the spice up for both guys, but I’d rather not have Ziggy be teamed up with Miz. I really don’t like Miz. His wrestling has never really caught my attention.

    • E-Z

Good idea but not sure hot on one of the two members being “The Miz”.

    • raVen

an angry “shoot” style Ziggler..that’s money!
Miz is very annoying solo but his tag teams are always entertaining.

    • oppa

So they are playing CM Punk on TV?

      • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

Lol, Great Job! I see The Great Khali as the future star when compared to boring Darth Ziggler!

    • Buzzard Follower remember the walk out angle now imagine its used properly this time with the younger superstars rebelling against the machine if we dont get mitb at mania i expect a huge tag match with the frustrated workers vs the privileged

    • Kevin G. Wolfe

So they’ll be teamed together so they can Job to Los Matadores? A waste of incredible talent… and Miz factors in somewhere.

    • Tim

Could this be the second coming of the dirt sheet?

      • Tim

        Only angrier?

    • JamieEvsxx

fair to say I’m surprised that I’m happy with these plans…can’t stand The Miz but if it means they’re actually going to do something with Dolph instead of letting him waste away jobbing them I’m all for it!…=)
