Batista’s Return: Royal Rumble Plans, Back For Two Years?

As previously reported, former WWE Superstar Batista will officially return to WWE on the January 20th edition of WWE RAW and will be hanging around at least through WrestleMania XXX.

Apparently the idea is that this is not a one-time WrestleMania return type deal for Batista, but rather a “final run” for him that could last as long as two years. His new deal reportedly calls for him to take some time off during the summer to promote a film project.

Regarding the specifics of his return, while his first televised appearance back with the company will be on the 1/20 episode of RAW, he will not be wrestling that night. His first official match is scheduled to take place in the 30-man match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

As more details starts to surface, the more worried I get that rumors of him winning the Rumble would come to fruition.

    • Brent Genito

Just sit back and enjoy the show.

    • Bryan

WWE would be crazy to take the Royal Rumble win off of both Punk and Bryan and it would also spit in the face of everyone in the audience who want to see Punk or Bryan end the show as Royal Rumble winner.

      • MohammadAbulawi

Royal rumble is always a spit in the face just because you like someone does not mean they should win

  • brad

Heck I’m down with the animal winning the rumble. However I do want to see punk win it before it is all said and done.

    • Progressed_Now

no thank you, we were stuck with him for almost 1.5 years as champ, as well as MitB winner twice in a row.

I like the idea of Batista returning in 2014 but it would be insane if Batista was the Royal Rumble winner and competing in the main event of Wrestlemania. They should let other guys in the spotlights

    • SonofSheik81

Batista would beg to differ… “Where’s MY spotlight?”

      • Guest

I would say “its when you return for the first time”

  • AVPredator4985

I like the idea of him being around for a good run. Gives the WWE some times to build up some other guys.

So that’s why I can’t find tickets to the Raw show in Dayton .

  • God’s Diamond

Haven’t cared about a person winning the rumble since rko

  • captaindaddy72

Can’t wait for the animal 2 return lol

  • Daniel Bryan

Has anyone heard of this is looking to be a heel or face return for him? I’ve seen more leading me to think heel but I don’t see him being a heel prior to pushing his new movie. I’d prefer to see a heel return though. Then have him interfere in a match or the rumble itself to set up a future feud. I don’t think its necessary to have him wrestle at the Rumble.

  • Reality

Him winning the rumble would not suprise me at all, but I hate it so much. Hope the rumble will just be the medium to start a feud with someone, maybe Roman Reigns (Reigns eliminating Batista for example, ruining his return) instead of launching him to the WWE championship title picture with Orton.

I think it may be just a dream scenario but Bryan and Batista as the final two with Bryan somehow eliminating the animal would be epic RR moment!

  • scott

He wont win the rumble. Id love for him to compete in it though and have a deep run. But id love to see him fight ryback or big E and if hes really back work him back into the spotlight

  • Punk2k14

He won’t win the Rumble but will break Kane’s record of most eliminations in a single Royal Rumble (11) on the night

  • Punk2k14

Would love to see Batista and Brock in the Rumble both facing off to see who could eliminate most wrestlers over the top and the Ryback tries getting in on the act and they both eliminate him.

Then Punk and Bryan eliminate Batista and Brock
