What signs? The signs that the internet told you. You’d think the fact that he was announced and advertised for the tours and was lifting weights in his videos was indication enough? You thought they’d fly him to Europe to say hi? LOL

  • Richmond

Del Rio is boring enough for the World Heavyweight Championship!!! I think even Cena can pull off the Heavyweight Championship better, but we ALL KNOW that Alberto Del Rio is gonna win, because Cena’s gonna need some more time off.

    • Kris

      Del Rio is pretty terrible

  • Jervaughn Stewart

Let the riots and anger rants begin!

    • Zack Stinson

People are taking it better then i thought. lol

  • DimTooC

I honestly feel Cena can be a better World Champ then Del Rio..

    • bayarea08

Man I was seriously hoping it would have been Mark Henry…

    • pwnez

I’d prefer to see Cena as WHC rather than WWE champion.

    • Shavadoo

      ITS NOT HAPPENING IWC KIDDIE.

ANNOUNCED IN A MIDCARD SEGMENT W/ ZERO REACTION FROM THE ANNOUNCERS?

      YEAH, RIGHT…….

      • kthanxyousuck

Announced while the WHC was in the ring for a PPV that desperately needs to create reasons for people to buy it?

        Yes

      • Bushwald Sexyface

The announcers talked about it for 30 minutes afterwards. They then promoted the PPV match 14 times. Then Cena confirmed it himself.

        • AVPredator4985

Shavadoo doesn’t seem like he knows what he’s saying…

  • brad

Well I’m actually glad he’s coming back, wwe needs him.

    • Bushwald Sexyface

      They don’t “need” him.

      • Johnson

Technically they do since he’s the real face of the company. Even if he stinks…He’s the big draw and the money. Business 101

        • Bushwald Sexyface

Nobody is the “big draw” these days outside of returning wrestlers. And the ratings and PPV buys haven’t gone down anywhere near enough for them to feel whatever need to rush Cena back. I would imagine Cena called and said I’m ready and want to come back and they said ok. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • Kris

What a surprise, Cena getting handed a title shot. :/

    • kthanxyousuck

Technically he’s due one from Summerslam. Guess he should have cashed his rematch clause in at HIAC with Randy and Bryan because then at least it would flow and you’d be less mad.

  • NotTooSerious

This is not shocking news at all. If I woke up tomorrow morning trapped under a burning couch…THAT would be shocking.

  • Santino Del Rio

This is a way to put a bunch of heat on Del Rio and make him a actual HEEL Cena will come back Del Rio will mess up his elbow even more forcing Cena to take more time off then bring back Rey .

  • Shay Hartwell

THANK YOU GOD!!!!! Pls lose the title to John!

  • Tom

This is perfect, Cena wins and makes the world title mean something again

  • A Paul Heyman Guy

We’ll I guess there bringing Cena back quicker because they believe he will bring up the ratings idiots.

  • Richmond

    Miami, Florida. Poor Cena.

  • A Paul Heyman Guy

We’ll I guess there bringing Cena back earlier because they believe he will bring the ratings back up idiots.

  • AngelFlow

Right now I take Cena as World Heavyweight Champion over Del Rio. Del Rio is not a bad wrestler, but he is really boring. Also I think that Cena will win only to have Sandow cash in the MITB briefcase. I don’t think Cena is ready to return full time yet.

  • TheRealish

    Cena is not returning lmao.

    • Shavadoo

      THIS. DIRTSHEETS ARE SCUM.

    • kthanxyousuck

      Stage one, denial.

      • TheRealish

Cena never did get his title rematch against daniel brian why would the wwe bring him back to face ADR. They could just have a battle royal to determine the 1 contender to face ADR even though sandow will probably cash in the money in the bank brief case it doesn’t make sense to just give cena a title shot like that.

        • kthanxyousuck

Because they are in the middle of a feud that they for once don’t want to interject Cena in the middle of. Would you prefer they just tossed Cena into HIAC and make it a triple threat, making the last two months of Orton/Bryan worthless? Do you remember how RVD became #1 contender? He was just announced one night when RR aligned with him.

  • TheRealish

    Cena is not returning lmao.

  • Jason Kaetzel

They will probally have Cena win just to lose to Damien Sandow

  • Zack Stinson

This is coming from a Cena hater, but I’m actually somewhat glad he is back. A few reason’s is because 1). He will bring credibility back to the World Title. 2). Del Rio is just so boring as World Champ. 3). This could lead to that Cena vs Punk unifying match at Wrestlemania.

  • hardik

What rubbish! Cena must be in for the WWE title not for WHC! I think he is loosing is potential of being a main event superstar! That is not good for cena’s fans

    • BITW

      main event MEGASTAR*

  • kthanxyousuck

Why is this a problem? It ‘s actually the best thing to happen.

    1. WHC gets some notice.
    2. Stays out of Bryan/Orton which means they share the spotlight still.
    3. Doesn’t win the Royal Rumble
    4. Possibly doing Smackdown appearances.
    5. Leaves the WWE title open for Punk, Show ect, while giving him some fresh faces to compete against who may not be main event level yet.

I ask again, what is the problem here?

    • butterpecs

You have great points. The only problem I can really come up with is that there is seriously no build to this title match that he didn’t do anything to qualify for, as well as the fact that the whole idea of him going after the WHC is a bit out of left field. Even then, I don’t care.

    • Andrew Campbell

The problem IS that I don’t want to see Cena or his corny a** promos until early 2014 at the earliest.

      • pwnez

You and I both know that there was no chance Cena was going to stay out of WWE until January. I don’t mind this idea at all to be honest. WHC needs a star holding the title.

Now that we’re seeing this happen, it makes me wish we would have seen CM Punk win the IC title to give that more credibility.

        • Andrew Campbell

But it hasn’t even been 2 months yet. The World Title should be defunct anyway. Having 2 world titles with today’s lack of main eventers is pointless.

Cena’s return just better not interfere with D Bryan’s status as THE headliner in WWE.

          • pwnez

Again, we both knew he was going to end up rushing back whether it was because Cena wanted to or because WWE wanted him to. WWE is never going to get rid of the WHC. It will always be the secondary title that no one really cares about. Until we’re given a reason to at least.

I doubt it. It’s a win/win situation. Bryan is going to stay in the WWE title picture by winning the Royal Rumble (Orton and Big Show will feud next) and Cena will be headed for the WHC. Hey, he might even see Sandow go over on Cena if he cashes in which would be awesome. Two top guys holding the two top titles. The fact that Cena isn’t coming back to jump right back into the main storyline is great and people should be a little more grateful for that.

          • Andrew Campbell

What makes you think that Cena’s storyline won’t become the main storyline after he wins the title? I can easily see Bryan being relegated to the middle of the show and Cena headlining again regardless whether or not Bryan and Cena are WWE and World champion, respectively.

We’ll just have to wait and see how it plays out I guess. I just have horrible flashbacks of the time Laurinaitus vs Cena headlined over Bryan vs Punk.

          • pwnez

The WHC will always be the secondary title, period. WWE will always want to focus mainly on who is holding the WWE title. I think they are doing great with Bryan although he probably won’t win the title back from Orton. If it means him winning the Royal Rumbles and going on to ‘Mania then i’m fine with it.

Cena may not even wrestle at HIAC, this could be a giant swerve. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was just to troll us.

          • kthanxyousuck

Because they wouldn’t have added HBK to the Bryan/Randy match if they wanted the spotlight to be on Cena. Cena’s actually being featured on Smackdown houseshows for the upcoming months while Bryan/Randy continue to headline Raw.

Not to mention that Randy/Bryan is still attached to the McMahon’s as well which is why it will keep it’s main event factor. If they wanted Cena to be the focus, they would have made the HIAC a triple threat since Cena is still owed a rematch. That actually would have been the easiest way out for them. There’s too many side plots and characters involved in Bryan/Randy for it to be pushed out of it’s spot.

I really do believe that Cena/DelRio will be a mid-show title match at HIAC. And maybe that will help ease people’s nerves.

          • Andrew Campbell

I meant following the HIAC ppv. Obviously Orton vs Bryan inside HIAC would headline the show.

          • Manny Guzman

so that means cena is comeing home to smakdown for a while lol

      • SOBI

You are mad now wait till Cena beats Del RIo and then he has to defend the title against
        ……
        Wait for IT
        SHEAMUS !!!!!

        • Andrew Campbell

Oh lord, I can see the promos now. The HORROR.

    • AVPredator4985

I completely agree. I don’t mind Cena being there as long as he’s not in the WWE title picture, or any other main event feud. The WHC could seriously use a status boost anyways.

  • Derringer Duo

Told ya they were going to pull him back early to try and save the sliding ratings. How disappointed they will be. But, things aren’t looking great for DB, right now. Big Show taking top honors tonight, clowning on Steph and KO’ing Hunter, and now Cena coming back. It’s only a matter of time before Sheamus comes back, too. Punk/Heyman will be done soon as soon as Punk drops Ryback one more time.

When Cena, Sheamus and Punk get involved in this thing, it’s going to be alot harder for Daniel to keep his spot with creative. Especially since he didn’t move the ratings needle at all. Crowd reactions are great, but you’ve got to move the needle.

  • Lemonz

I was honestly hoping/expecting to hear Mark Henry or Rey Mysterio’s name. Surprised Cena is coming back so soon, good for him though, pretty interesting to see him in the WHC picture, it resurrects the title which is a good thing, WHC deserves to be seemed as prestigious.

  • Scott Kinnard

Cena- you’re not 26. Coming back before you’re ready at 36 could end your career. Wait till 2014 to return.

  • Ninjastar

This doesnt make sense , Cena is suppose to get a rematch vs Bryan for the belt . Or whoever has the belt when he returns . But im pretty sure there is a twist behind this story line .

    • TheRealish

      Exactly.

  • Johnson

I said this from the beginning. When they said he would be out six months… In “John Cena time” that is 2 months! This is John Cena we’re talking about, he heals fast and has motivation and drive like no one else..said it before. Truthfully though, I believe the problem he had wasn’t as big of a deal as they let on. They said six months to throw people off, but most likely knew he would be back in half the time. They did it before in 2008, when they said he’d be out for a year and was back in four months lmao…

    • kthanxyousuck

It’s not about throwing people off. They went with NORMAL recovery time for his injury. It’s 4-6 months for any typical person. Not the person that goes to therapy for probably 6 hours a day which I imagine that’s what he was doing.

  • Dyson
  • Black Berry

what so “Breaking News” about it… same shiit different day

  • Jbabyface218

IMO cena is rushing things wow no offence the guy has no real outside life wwe is his life my god dude cant even njoy his time off whats the matter cena your not relevant when ur away from the wwe lol

    • Kuwabara

lol I know dude, super cena needs to get some time off and visit family or bang his girlfriend. Hw is getting old and still doesnt have kids, I bet all the steroids made his dikk small

      • kthanxyousuck

Most main event WWE superstars don’t have kids?

        • Kuwabara

Randy orton, HBK, Y2J, HHH, Undertaker, Mick Foley, Rey Mysterio they all have kids and they are all already over 30, and like i said cena is getting old and still doesnt have any kids

          • kthanxyousuck

Some of those didn’t have kids until they were over 30. Jericho was 32, HBK 33 and HHH was 37. Trish is having her first at 37 even though she retired years ago. Cena, Sheamus, Punk, Edge, Christian, Daniel Bryan are all in their mid 30’s and don’t have any. It seems less likely for those that are dating divas obviously. Kids seem to be more likely with people who marry outside of the company.

    • kthanxyousuck

WWE is his life. This isn’t surprising as he’s always said it.

  • Jbabyface218

IMO cena is rushing things wow no offence the guy has no real outside life wwe is his life my god dude cant even njoy his time off whats the matter cena your not relevant when ur away from the wwe lol

  • Jbabyface218

and hbk is back wow woopieeeee dude is boring

  • Big Johnny

That’s great, and it will boost Smackdown’s ratings too. Lol it is kind of ironic that Cena was demoted to the B show

  • cm2013

I see this as a good thing… among the other reasons listed, we could be looking at a title unification match down the road… Cena v. Orton, Cena v. Bryan… this opens up possibilities again. Thumbs up to this move.

  • Bam Bam

Say what you will about him I’m not a huge Cena fan but this guy is a straight up Beast!

  • Louis Salera

Cena wins then sandow cashes in..duh

    • Kuwabara

Hopefully, Cena needs to go away for more time

      • kthanxyousuck

You think they’re going to ruin his return by having him come back for one night, just to leave for another 2 months again after being medically cleared…..okay!

  • yrabadi

Awesome. Glad he’s back and he’s out of Bryan’s way for now. Perfect.

  • MOON CENA

.. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YES YESS .. I soooooo hope he winsss the world title and get that championship some damnnnn notice .. alberto as a champion is boooooringgg as helllll , had crappy ppv matches .. THANKK GOD .. THE CHAMPPP IS HEREEE !! .. :D

  • MOON CENA

    … THIS HAPPENS AT HELLL IN A CELL 2013 …. :D THE CHAMP IS HERE !! ….

  • Tron

So, I’m guessing the WHC will be the “A” title again, like it was when HHH had it 10 years ago. Sure, the WWE title is the main focus now, with this hot storyline ..just wait.

  • DEME

JOHN CENA WILL COME BACK WIN THE WHC BELT THEN AFTER HE WILL WIN THE WWE BELT. SUPERMAN IS BACK

  • Orestis

Something tells me things won’t go so smooth.Maybe Cena doesn’t win or Sandow cashes in!

  • http://twitter.com/JamieEvsxx JamieEvsxx

John Cena: Supposed to be out of action 4 to 6 months, kicks out at 2!…xD…yes I did get that from a meme!…xD…but in all seriousness, I honestly find Cena incredibly annoying and I’ve loved the small break from seeing him on TV…but if Cena coming back means Alberto will lose the title then I’m buzzing!…Del Rio is just so boring it’s ridiculous!…I wish he never won the title in the first place…damn you WWE!…xS

    • kthanxyousuck

You got a small break. That’s what 2 months was.

      • http://twitter.com/JamieEvsxx JamieEvsxx

        yeah I know, that’s why I said I loved it…xD

  • TDR25_Forever

Super Cena really must have the blood of a Kryptonian, a rapid healing mutant, and that of the Elastic Man inside him, because he has some sick recovery time. I honestly thought and gracefully prepared myself for not having to see him until Royal Rumble at least, and then I get this announcement. Don’t hate Cena at all, just tired of seeing him. And I doubt he wins the WHT from Del Rio. Cena will probably beat the Del Rio like a pinata after Del Rio DQ’s himself, and out comes Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

  • lololololol

Cena is too good for the WHC to be honest, let’s not kid ourselves.

  • kthanxyousuck

I just don’t understand why instead of being happy Cena not being thrown in the middle of Randy/Bryan, like they were afraid of, they are trying to argue the logic of Cena going after the other title. WHO CARES IF HE’S NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF RANDY/BRYAN?!
