CM Punk’s Next Feud, Mysterio’s Future, Vengeance Main Event

Published On September 29, 2011 | By | Wrestling News

-Rey Mysterio underwent yet another knee surgery this week – pushing his expected return date back even further. After years of abuse to his body due to his high flying in-ring style,  WWE officials believe that Mysterio’s days as an in-ring competitor are limited.

Rey will be unable to wrestle on WWE’s upcoming tour of Mexico, but will be appearing at the events due to his marketability in Mexico.

While Mysterio has spent a lot of time on the sidelines over the years due to various injuries, he remains one of WWE’s top merchandise sellers, whether he’s currently being featured on television or not.

- Regarding the October 18th episode of RAW that tapes October 16th in Mexico City, right now it won’t be a Supershow with SmackDown stars on it because WWE has a SmackDown show in Mexico and can’t afford for the big names to miss it for RAW.

- John Cena vs. CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Kevin Nash has been discussed as the main event of WWE’s upcoming Vengeance pay-per-view.

- Regarding CM Punk’s spotlight in the WWE main events over the past few months, word is that the push will continue at least through the end of the year. Following the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, Punk is scheduled to go into a singles feud with Alberto Del Rio.

ADR/CM Punk feud could be good. Both guys are good wrestlers and have the ability to put on good matches. I hope ADR switches up his promos though or maybe he’s already begun to, i’m not really sure. It seems like a good idea butttttt we’ll see how WWE does this.

    NO SPOILERS

    and… del rio es campion!

push will last at least until the end of the year? what, are they going to give up on him?? seriously, what’s with that language?

  • dustdog

They’ll need to start moving into Wrestlemania storylines come the new year. This means things like putting the feelers out to Austin to see if he’d want to do something, or perhaps push it back another year so it doesn’t get lost in the shuffle because of Rock/Cena and Undertaker’s probable last WM match. If not Austin then who could he be put in a program with that hasn’t really been done recently, and still feels like he hasn’t been dropped down the midcard. Stuff happens.

Fatal 4 Way main events are always a little sketchy to me. The fact that Kevin Nash may be in it makes it even worse. If it were Cena vs CM Punk vs ADR vs insert good wrestler here, it might be somewhat decent. I never was high on matches like this, but some in the past were good.

An elimination fatal fourway with each wrestler having a ‘power player’ behind them could work, ala WM 2000. Perhaps for a vacant World Title?

CM Punk (w/ Austin) vs HHH (w/ Steph and Nash) vs ADR (w/ Vince) vs Jericho (w/ Laurenitus and Dunn)

Maybe not those exact people, but you get the idea.

Yeah it won’t be a supershow because the WWE can’t afford to use big smackdown names. It would be completely ridiculous to add Trent baretta, tyson kidd, the usos,(insert another overly talented, underused superstar here) that never get air time and this could be there shot right? GREAT MOVE WWE

If Punk is feuding with Del Rio I hope that 1 of them is WWE champion. meaning Cena loses it this sunday….fingers crossed

  • pwnez

@Guyzilla. What you just said reminds me of W.M. 16 where each wrestler had a McMahon in every corner.

  • original626

so Cena remains champ then and we’ll see who’s the best of the rest then…

  • JamieEvsxx

@Guyzilla…it’d be kinda strange to have Austin in the corner of CM Punk coz everyone wants to see them against eachother in a match and their talks on Twitter…=/

but yeah why do they need Kevin Nash in the match ?…like yeah he had that stuff going on with CM Punk and Triple H…but really is it necessary to put him in a match ?…he’d probably tear his quad anyways…=/

feud between Alberto Del Rio and CM PUNK would be interesting. Both wrestlers can carry each other’s persona to the next level The assault of Del Rio on Cena n CM PUNK at the end of RAW sets the stage for the upcoming Hell in the Cell Let’s hope it would put to rest the Cena / CM PUNK scenrio
