Published On April 3, 2012 | By | Wrestling News, WWE News

Monday’s Raw SuperShow saw the shocking return of Brock Lesnar to WWE as he dropped John Cena with a devastating F5. According to multiple sources within the organization, the recently retired mixed martial artist signed a one-year contract with WWE. He will be competing at WrestleMania XXIX at MetLife Stadium.

Lesner has agreed to make a minimum of two appearances per month for WWE over the course of the next year, plus an additional number of appearances in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania XXIX. Sources within the company believe the final amount will be approximately 30 to 35.

that’s not too bad actually, minimum of two Raws per month, so basically almost every Raw…….does that include PPVs? hope so. unfortunately I wasn’t following WWE weekly during his first run, so I hope to make up for lost time

    • Shambo

hope hes on a few ppvs on the lead up for wm29… and he extends his contract after…

    • Mr_Shrimp_Vendor

Youtube, man.  Youtube.  Youtube is your friend. :)

      • ProgressNow2012

nah youtube only has snippets, not full episodes, and most aren’t labelled by date. back then I was still in high school and didn’t even know people capped and uploaded rassling shows on the net. and now, why bother paying 50-70 bucks for subscription tv when I can get em for free? (not in the US)

        • DAX

Im just waching my old WWE collection from scrap and im at the point when we had a brand extansion. How fitting.

  • Super Panchito

I can live with this. Can’t wait to see how all this unfolds.

    • ProgressNow2012

lmao honestly I thought Jericho would say CM Sux’ sister is a prostitute, the way he was going on about how addicts do anything to maintain their addiction

      • Tiran66

I think Jericho came as close to humanly possible in the PG era to saying Punks sister is a prostitute.  Anyone who didn’t get that is either naive or under 14 years old.

        • ProgressNow2012

actually it reminded me of something I saw on tv once. a woman was arguing with a guy who accused her of selling crack. she turned to the camera and goes “don’t disrespect me in front of my child, this is my CHILD!……..I don’t sell drugs, I’m a PROSTITUTE!”

and I was indeed surprised Jericho DIDN’T say it, I was expecting it to come at any millisecond. oh man I would’ve laughed my ass off

      • lolsupimsogood

My jaw was on the damn floor during that Punk and Jericho segment tonight.  I loved it so much.

  • bayarea08

I’m not going to complain. This is pretty sweet…

  • WolfGang

Not a Lesner fan, but I love that he’s willing to make the effort to truly excite the fans by being there as much as possible. (Not ripping on the Rock fyi.) He should make Raw more entertaining. And what would make RAW even better a six month Daniel Bryan vs Cm Punk feud ffor the WWE championship.

    • http://twitter.com/AJCampbellNYG Andrew Campbell

The difference is that Lesnar IS NOT doing anything else in his life right now. Whereas Rock was juggling a booming Hollywood career with his commitments to the WWE.

The only thing with Lesnar’s return is, will he be the beast he once used to be?? He has lost all of his muscle and over half of his body size. He looked much smaller than Cena in overall size last night on RAW, he used to be double Cena’s size in 2003.

      • Bushwald Sexyface

Double’s quite a stretch. I don’t think you realize how massive Cena’s arms and legs are.

      • dan acos

We have to remember 03 was before the wellness policy, also he had major surgery. personally i don’t care how massive he is. your right about questioning is he as good as he once was? after everything he’s been through, i’m sure he was thrilled to live for another moment like last night

      • WolfGang

I know, again I wasn’t saying anything about the Rock, it was a precautionary statement. Sure I wasn’t thrilled with Rock only being at a few shows, but again, yes, he has a bigger load on his shoulders. I like Cena vs The Rock, they both impressed me, but Rocky has some ring rust, which is what I hope won’t effect Lesner. I shouldn’t if they’ll be putting him in a few matches.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QK6XTIIFZRNB6JZL26QZE6KHUE big lou

      YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kevin-Toro/100001659990434 Kevin Toro

i hope he has a match at summerslam.

  • DigitalWWE

    “Approximately 30 to 35″

Says Approximate then gives an estimation

  • JR.399

I read that it might be Rock vs Brock at WM for the WWE Title.I don’t like the sound of that. I’m glad that Brock is back, but they CAN’T go for the WWE or any title. They are not gonna be at every TV show, house show, etc.

    • Mr_Shrimp_Vendor

I’ve heard, Brock vs. Taker myself, though Cena vs. Lesnar does sound interesting.  Fact is, Cena has mowed down the rest of the active WWE roster for years and the only real challenges left for him are top mega superstars he never faced during his era as the seemingly immortal face of WWE.  Should be interesting.

      • ProgressNow2012

I wouldn’t mind seeing Cena Vs Lesnar. Cena’s had enjoyable matches with powerhouses (mostly because they tore him apart lol). had a great match with Lesnar at Backlash 03, the one with Lashley at…..Great American Bash, was it? and the earlier Batista ones.

but I wouldn’t put him with Lesnar at WM tho. I’d reserve that spot for the Taker Vs Lesnar

        • Bushwald Sexyface

Cena v Lesnar would be perfect for Summerslam I think.

  • pwnez

2 per month isn’t bad at all. It will be worth every moment i’m sure.

    • http://twitter.com/AJCampbellNYG Andrew Campbell

He needs to hit the weights again though.

      • Bushwald Sexyface

I’ll be happy if he just wears a new t-shirt.

      • DOOOSHBAG

yeah his arms looked much thinner as compared to cena.
still an year is a long time he sure will bulk up again

      • Tha_Narcissist

yeah i agree, he did look smaller but ill chalk that up to tha illnesses hes recently had

        • Kinnardscott

True- Lesnar is about 30lbs lighter than his last appearance in WWE. But you have to remember, in UFC, the heavyweight max is 265lbs. Plus, ya his illness. I’m sure he will go back up to around the 275 mark. But supposedly he’s really had to change his diet so getting back to 295 will pry be difficult

    • Lil jimmy

considering that he’s unemployed he could work 2 appearence per month, but i doubt he will work 2 appearences per month.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001700548189 James Al

all i know is lesnar is about to bury cena!

  • Mingaling

Wishful thinking but it’s the 10th anniversary of rock vs Brock at summerslam this year. Now that would be a winner imo!

  • http://wrestledirect.com/ Kaos

Why do I get the feeling “building new talent” is being thrown out the window and to be never heard from ever again?

    • TotalNonstopAddict

True, with the return of Lesnar and the assurance that The Rock will win the WWE title again (which he obviously will), it seems as though we’re having a year headlined by the nostalgia crew. I like both Lesnar and Rock but after they leave again, which won’t be too long, we’ll be back in the all too familiar situation of there being no current generation headliners.
I’d love to see Brock take a protege and build up someone new but I don’t see it happening.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1060052607 Neil Shah

TECHNICALLYY Brock is original WWE talent, and hey, we have a buzz around the industry that hasn’t been felt in years.. You can complain about stars of yesteryear but it’s the same as Hulk vs Rock, The NWO, Flair’s career in WWE, we’re always going to be filled with older talent BUT if the aura of the WWE right now is getting more attention, so are the younger stars. The PG era isn’t over but it looks as if there’s less strings attached.. As a wrestling fan i can only be optimistic. They’re going to spend the next 2-3 years (Lesnar, Rock, Austin? etc) headlining so Punk, Cody, Ziggler, Brodus etc all have time to develop as REAL DRAWS. I love young talent but hey, take away Michaels, HHH, Taker, Rock and Y2J from last night, you don’t have much to build or to make money and for a PUBLICLY TRADED COMPANY that has share holders who want to make MORE MONEY these steps are necessary. Wrestling is a business and it always will be.

        • TotalNonstopAddict

I didn’t say Lesnar isn’t original WWE talent. I’m not complaining about the quality of show we can expect to see in the coming months, and I think we can expect viewing figures to go up which obviously is the desired effect. I agree with most of what you’re saying and at the end of the day, WWE like any company exists to make money, but the part I think has been overlooked is that you say Punk, Ziggler etc will have a few years to develop as real draws… how? If Brock, Rock, maybe Austin (but unlikely) are headlining everything for say 18 months then leave, that means that in 18 months the people headlining  will have gone and the younger guys won;t have much more experience because those people who just have left have been main eventing everything.
I’m excited for this and think it’s a good thing overall but do you see the point I’m trying to make? How will, for example, Dolph Ziggler get main event experience in the next year or so if Lesnar and Rock headline everything? He won’t, even if he gets the occasional title match or something, it will be the big names that are drawing not him, he’ll be supporting and most likely jobbing? But then when they leave, he will be expected to be a big draw and to main event and carry world titles even though he hasn’t had the opportunity to get the experience necessary to do so because the real attention for the previous year has been on The Rock and crew.

Wrestling works on a balance of constantly having a top tier of older legends (right nowUndertaker, Triple H), current established main eventers who will be around for a while (Orton, Punk) and people on the brink who can be put in big matches in the right situation but haven’t yet broken the glass ceiling (Ziggler, Rhodes). The idea is that they move through from the latter to former stages so there is some of all of them on the roster at all times to keep the business going. My concern is that with it more heavily weighted to the first category at the moment, there won’t we enough air time, attention and title/bog match opportunities for the people in the third category to move up to the second, so when the first category all retire, the second will be empty and there will be no real current stars.

        • b-ran

           right on.

      • #REALHEEL

brock will only appear 30 – 35 days over the course of one year…….. Don’t think we will see a lot of him. Rock said he will come back he never specified when though. Expect to see him back in 2014 or 2015 or something like that. Given maybe brock will have a change of heart. Still lot’s of room for young guys, brock will be more for ratings then anything.

      • b-ran

having these guys back buys the company more time to build some of the new guys as believable main event guys. higher caliber main event guys.  One extra year to make ziggler, del rio, miz, cody rhodes are great but still not at the level of the rock austin, lesnar.  They just bought  more time.

      • http://twitter.com/FlipCity1017 Jager1017

i like to think brock may re-sign. if vince doesn’t recognize the return of lesnar is HUGE for business and the wwe, and that he needs to make a serious change to fix what he’s destroyed, and throw outrageous amounts of money at him to try and re-sign him, then i don’t know what he can do. the rock, i could care less about. i hate him, but he won’t do anything for the company, what, 3 matches a year? no thanks. i knew he was in this for one reason only and that is himself. he just wants that wwe fanbase to support his shitty movies. and cement his legacy by being a 10 time champ, since cena has, he wants it too. fuck the rock.

    • wwe

what new talent can they build on, al of them arent worth building on

      • http://wrestledirect.com/ Kaos

Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, and not to mention the group of awesome guys floundering in FCW such as Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Kasius Ohno & Antonio Cesaro (Not sure if i spelled that right) These are all guys I could see being Main Eventers

  • ProgressNow2012

only from the few hundred times it’s been reported on various sites, that Taker chal….invited Lesnar “to do it” (don’t get the wrong idea) when he visited a UFC event a year or so ago. look it up on youtube. Michelle McCool was there too, ask her

it’s obvious who Taker wants to end the streak, and since he still got alot of weight to pull on as far as the creative team goes, I say it’s quite the distinct possibility.

and Cena is no Undertaker, he certainly don’t deserve to get all the big names at Mania. and keep talking like a stupidass 5 year old, you only make yourself look like a TOOL, anod noone else.

  • Lilriz1987

Rock wins the wwe title at WM 29 and i wanna see how he plans on dong this after last night he prbably realized how much he missed that feeling and now he wants to make a huge run..my hat goes off to him man he dont need to do this but he loves the wwe and the fans

  • What really happened

WOOOO but The Crowd Kinda ruined it and made it better. They already knew brock was returning

  • Unknownplanet

Did you drink a big glass of stupid when you wrote that?

  • TotalNonstopAddict

Obviously, what with it being physically impossible to dislike both Cena and Lesnar and all. Or I might be thinking of knowing both the position and velocity of a particle. One of them is impossible.

    • Lil jimmy

i hate the fact lesner used wwe to become popular then signed with rivals ufc abd i dont like cena cos he overstayed his welcome….what an irony lolololol

  • #BAMF

Just because someone isn’t a Lesnar fan doesn’t mean that you should automatically assume that he’s a Cena fan. And if he is, so what?

  • Drizzydrake

oh my freaking goodness…that is freakin nuts…wish it was jeff hardy

  • DOOOSHBAG

kids are like mom whose that
    mom:HE IS THE PAIN :D

  • DOOOSHBAG

so this means TAKER vs HHH 4 ??!!??

  • http://twitter.com/CieranF cieran fitzgerald

yes! yes! yes! yes! yes! yes! yes! yes!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1060052607 Neil Shah

I feel as if the “PG era” has less strings attached, not totally over but i get this feeling of a much, much better product.

  • Brett Lane

i WAS waiting all Raw for that F5 to cena

  • ProgressNow2012

why don’t you just shut the fuck up and go away? you contribute nothing but trolling. we don’t need or want you around here. just go away

  • Cypruuusio

Now i’d love Goldberg and Batista to make returns as well as a sly one off black out where Sting appears and kicks the ass out of everybody in the WWE.

    *wakes up from dream*

  • Tha_Narcissist

Tha crazy thing is, im starting to accept Cena’s character…actually its not a character, after watching tha “once in a lifetime” special, im realizing that thats just WHO HE IS, hes a nice guy and I honestly dont see tha WWE creative team comin up wit a good and BELIEVABLE storyline to turn him heel…I honestly dont think Cena can pull off a heel character anymore

    • b-ran

       agreed.  well said

  • TheKillingMoon

You must been the end result of that failed abortion.

  • http://twitter.com/ForeverInvolved Norman Brightenson

So let me get this straight. First John Cena (The biggest Wrestling Draw since Hogan) jobs to The Rock at Mania after beating the likes of HBK n HHH years b4. After a year of him being rumored to turn heel he comes out as the same ole Cena which he’s been for the last 6yrs and Brock Lensar returns and F-5 him and now Cena has to put another person WHO LEFT over? Wow I feel sorry for John cause thats messed up. I don’t understand the direction the WWE is going in. And someone PLEASE get Daniel Bryan back on TV. He OWNED this Raw and he didnt do shit. YES!

  • GameXXX

I hope Brock Lesnar comes to Raw and PPV at least twice month that will lead to Wrestlemania 29 for Brock lesnar!

  • Supersmashyoshi

I dont understand why everyone is upset to see some REAL talent back on the roster, dont get me wrong CM Punk and The Miz are decent but noone on the roster holds a candle to Jericho, The Rock or Brock

  • Eclipse4d

If  Rock happened to win the WWE Title,i would love to see him drop to a deserving rising star who could use it to solidify thier main event status. Hopefully,The Miz,Ziggler,Alberto Del Rio,Barret,Rhodes or maybe Swagger..well not Swagger..lol I pray he doesn’t drop it to Cena,Orton or Punk… I wonder if Brock is in line for a title run.

  • the masked middle finger

I REALLY wish this hadn’t been leaked. It would’ve been even more awesome when he returned. The crowd knew he was coming, they had signs and everything.

  • Jmc60

If only he could be around on a weekly basis……

  • WOLFGANG

Comin from someone who’s name is I’m awesome and your’e not… can’t say that meant anything to me. So, I’m not a Lesner fan who cares? Does my likes and dislikes physically affect you, I don’t think so. Oh I’m 27 in case you’re wondering.

  • Superlative

Lesnar being back > The Rock winning a WWE Championship.

  • oldschoolfan

who cares? Never liked him in WWE the first time around and definitely don’t like him after how he did and left the first time. People like him WWE should no pursue and/or give a 2nd chance to…..I personally hope they humiliate Brock at WM next year.

    • TheKillingMoon

Obviously you did. That is why you took the time to comment on it in the first place.

  • Satishwarne708

“YES” He’s backkkk here comes the PAIN.

  • Benschatz34

fuck that STAY FULL TIME BROCK!!!!!!

  • ProgressNow2012

ain’t talkin about a feud. I’m talkin about Lesnar ending the streak.

  • Bushwald Sexyface

I meant to say were/was, whatever. Cena was pretty damn big back then.

  • ProgressNow2012

what kind of match can Austin pull off at this stage anyway, especially with someone like Lesnar? Austin’s last good match I can remember was with Kurt Angle in 2001.

now it’s 11-12 years ago, you certainly can’t expect him to perform the way he used to. not with his neck. yeah he says it hardly bothers him these days, but saying it and competing with a monster like Lesnar 10 years after your retirement……..nah I don’t think so.

even a match with Punk like many say…..how do you expect Austin to keep up with him at this stage? I’d rather remember him the way he was back in the day. not have him come back to wrestle 10 years past his prime, only to get slower and slower.
