We reached out to Spike TV for some clarification on the situation and they replied:

“Per Viacom company policy – we don’t comment on ongoing negotiations.”

Why do people think TNA is dead? They’re off TV, not bankrupt. There’s a difference.

    • Forceton Banfodder

How do you think they intend to keep making money with no national TV presence and they can’t even fill the G**D*** Hammerstein Ballroom?

      • theleagueofjonas

Merchandise, promotion, dvd sales, online streaming, online marketing, etc…

        • pwnez

Lack of promotion is actually one of the problems Spike TV had with TNA. DVD sales? Surly TNA’s DVD sales isn’t helping them stand on their feet…

        • Forceton Banfodder

If they can’t make money now with a nationally syndicated television show and pretty decent names. Why do you think that streaming will suddenly save them?

Streaming just might be the worst mistake WWE has ever made. They’ve lost lucrative rights with NBC/Universal for creating their Network and almost no one will carry their PPVs now.

WWE has a financial conference call this week and if the subscriber numbers don’t wow investors, this could be a disastrous week for the entire wrestling industry, not just TNA.

        • LaParkaXV

          LOL
Merch? 50% off sales and brown bag specials? GET REAL
          Promotion? Seriously? LMAO
Dvd dales? Do they still make dvd’s?
Online marketing? Yea…..the company isn’t familiar with regular marketing.

Online streaming is their only shot UNLESS they can get on ION or a lesser cable network.

          • The Grappler

Oh poor baby…your 800,000 comments at pwtorch are now flushed down the toilet since pw decided to cancel the comment section.

            HAHAHAHAHAHA

          • LaParkaXV

Good thing this site still exists so you can stalk me right?

            Get help

            BAHAHAHAHAHA

      • Steve Williams

        Fire Russo

      • The Grappler

They have 200 international TV markets that pay them for content.

        • Forceton Banfodder

They’re not lucrative enough to keep them afloat. Do you even read any of these articles or do you just post the first thing that comes to mind?

          • The Grappler

            Pot meets kettle, no?

          • Forceton Banfodder

No. Also you might want to look up the definition of unbiased and reconsider your screen name.

    • pwnez

Why? This isn’t exactly great news for TNA. Many thought that if TNA were to lose their TV deal with Spike TV, that it would be the final nail in the coffin. Finding a new home for Impact Wrestling is going to be near impossible.

      • theleagueofjonas

difficult not impossible. Their best bet without a television deal is online streaming.

        • Forceton Banfodder

          I think you overestimate Ditzy.

        • pwnez

Dixie bit the hand that was feeding them by lying about Russo. Like a couple others have said on here, why would any network put trust and faith in her now?

        • omega riddler

They overcharge for old PPVs on YouTube

    • Leather Face

If they’re not on TV how will they be promoted? I see ads for different things online all the time. I could care less about any of them. TNA is a wounded dog, kicking its legs in a frenzy to survive. It’s time to put that dog to sleep.

    • omega riddler

If they are no longer on TV, people will lose interest and look for something else.

  • pwnez

“Ongoing.” Yeah, that’s a load of crap.

    • Michael Kondratiuk

Why would Spike lie? I could see why Dixie Carter would but its interesting to see Spike say that. Hardball from Spike’s position? They could pick up iMPACT! for a lot cheaper after Dixie fails to get a decent deal from another cable channel.

      • pwnez

As of right now, TNA and Spike TV are still working together up until October. You can’t expect them to publicly bash them at the current time. Many businesses will say they are still negotiating when in fact they already know what their answer is.

        • Michael Kondratiuk

That is very true. But most networks just openly announce that they are severing ties with a show. I wouldn’t say admitting it is a bash so to speak. Maybe I’m just being overly optimistic :P

    • http://www.rabidpictures.com yrabadi

You do realize the original report came from TMZ… right? They’re not exactly the most reliable source.

I wouldn’t be surprised if negotiations are ongoing. I wouldn’t be surprised if TNA still stays on Spike.

    • The Grappler

Yes, you are full of crap.

  • Vinnie Mac

They make more money overseas than in the U.S. They can always move to a different country.

    • Forceton Banfodder

Their European deals are not lucrative enough to keep them afloat. Moving to Europe wouldn’t save them.

for all we know it could be true that negotiations are on going i mean it was tmz after all that announced the news that spike tv dropped tna and they are about as credible as dave meltzer

  • Nickfab88

    I think Dixie needs a plan B.

  • The Ryback

I am officially entering my bid for TNA’s knockouts division at $500

    • Forceton Banfodder

You can’t even afford their used panties for that.

      • The Ryback

As long as I got Velvet’s I’m good

  • Dixie Carter

People need to go to work and earn money. What if Burger King folded? Half y’all would be unable to pay your internet bill or buy shopping for your family. People on here make me sick wishing people be homeless because they dislike the TV personality or these fake sources the website talk about AKA their cat and dog.

    • Dixie Carter

      !!

    • LaParkaXV

Darlin you are the only one that deserves to be homeless.

      • The Grappler

Darlin, your hardwork at 800,000 comments are in the garbage at the “other” place.

        • LaParkaXV

As are you 800,000 troll comments

          You are one pathetic loser!

          • The Grappler

            I love you…

  • Perezshaun

I’m just going to say this, I’m so sick of Ev’rybody on this site thinking that they know exactly what’s going on. These stories are sometimes posted by random writers. And people’s comments on here are totally ridiculous. I guess we will all find out in October if Spike TV is actually going to cancel. Even though they don’t do the numbers that WWE makes, TNA is still a high rating program for Spike TV and it would not be in best of business if they cancel. For what it’s worth, even though ROH is not on national TV around my Way, it still seems to thrive. I’m pretty sure TNA is going to get another deal. Everybody on the site things that they actually work for Spike TV or for the wrestling organization itself, newsflash everyone on here including myself just writes comments down to what they “BO-LIEVE” what’s going on.

    • TNA Live Crowd

Your comment lost any credibility as soon as you wrote “Bo-Lieve”. It sounds like you know just as much as anybody on here to, maybe even less
