WWE Hall Of Fame To Induct Donald Trump

WWE just announced breaking news – the next member of the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2013 is none other than Donald Trump. Here’s the official press release, including quotes from Vince McMahon & Donald Trump:

STAMFORD, Conn., February 25, 2013 – WWE (NYSE:WWE) announced today that Donald J. Trump will be a celebrity inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Madison Square Garden. Mr. Trump has been a part of WWE’s most popular events and storylines dating back to WrestleMania® IV in 1988 and WrestleMania V in 1989 when he hosted the pop-culture extravaganzas in Atlantic City. In 2009, Mr. Trump “purchased” WWE and then “resold” WWE back to Mr. McMahon a week later for double the price.  In his most famous WWE storyline, Mr. Trump challenged Mr. McMahon to a “Battle of the Billionaires” match at WrestleMania XXIII, resulting in an all-time record for pay-per-view buys and Mr. McMahon’s head being shaved at the hands of “The Donald.”

“It was literally the thrill of a lifetime performing in front of 80,000 enthusiastic fans during the ‘Battle of the Billionaires’ match at WrestleMania XXIII,” said Donald Trump, Chairman and President, The Trump Organization. “I’ve always enjoyed and respected WWE’s brand of entertainment and look forward to the ceremony in my hometown at Madison Square Garden.”

“Donald is a global icon whose status brought an unmatched level of publicity and grandeur to WWE,” said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman and CEO.

Mr. Trump is the pre-eminent developer of quality real estate both in the United States and abroad, and has made the Trump brand synonymous with excellence.  His portfolio includes dozens of award-winning skyscrapers, hotels, golf courses and clubs.   He is an accomplished and best-selling author of over a dozen books including one of the best-selling business books of all time, The Art of the Deal.  Mr. Trump is also the star and co-producer of the NBC hit series, The Apprentice, which premieres its 13th season on Sunday, March 3.

Mr. Trump is the latest celebrity inductee entering the WWE Hall of Fame, joining Drew Carey, Pete Rose, Bob Uecker, Mike Tyson and William “Refrigerator” Perry. Other members of the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame Class include Bruno Sammartino, Mick Foley, Bob Backlund and Trish Stratus™.

How is he asking for a handout?

  • Deante320

Well I can’t question that. I mean the man was in wrestlemania. Been in front row seats in every WM in Madison Square Garden and been on raw multiple times so congrats.

Really? Out of all the guys that could be inducted? Donald???

  • Mr_Shrimp_Vendor

Vince is definitely going all out with this year’s HOF class.

I despise Trump, I truly don’t think he deserves a spot.

People … the man hosted WrestleMania 4 &5, was part of the highest grossing WrestleMania in history (at the time) and owned the WWE RAW brand for a cup of coffee .. Yeah, I can’t get into it either .. Fack this

I dont think most of us question him deserving the induction, just the timing.

    • Mr_Shrimp_Vendor

      That’ll do Sheik. That’ll do. ;)

  • jccox01

Wow. WWE trying too hard for social media. Hall of fame is a joke, bruno should drop out.

    • http://www.facebook.com/tomwing77 Thomas Wing

      That is a dumb statement.

  • IAmAPerson

As much as I absolutely hate Trump and almost every single thing he does… He has been a part of WWE television, from the very first WrestleManias to Monday Night Raw, he’s around occasionally, which is more than one can say for most of the other “WWE Celebrity Hall of Fame” inductees. So, I hate him, think he is the most self-centered, egotistical, narcissistic and ridiculous man on the planet, but he does deserve more than most to go into the Hall of Fame. Notice, I said more than most, I didn’t say he does deserve it.

WHAT? that’s it, it’s official I am DONE with WWE I don’t care what he’s done he’s a creep and I can’t stand him. I always said if he got in I would be done and i am.

      some fan you are.

if I am honest I truly stopped caring about wrestling when Edge retired but I decided to just coast along until my interest finally waned and now it has. there is more to life than wrestling… wrestling is not the be all and end all for me anyway. I play the violin, I take dance, I write (I could probably do better than the WWE writers who are so inconsistent) I have a life I don’t need WWE any more.

  • YouGonGetGotSon

GTFO Really? wtf are you thinking Vince, all these nobody ”celebrities” you’ve inducted over the years is complete garbage. They show up for a few random appearances, they don’t deserve a slot next to men like Owen Hart, Randy Savage, men who are HOF’ers in my eyes & i’m sure others. Who cares if Trump was there for a few shows, doesn’t make him at all HOF worthy. Much like half of those joke inductions, like Drew Carrey, Cindy Lauper, etc. Pathetic.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Clare-McFadden/505577415 Clare McFadden

I agree with you up to a point… the only slight issue is Cyndi Lauper… she is without a shadow of a doubt the best female singer i have ever seen in concert

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Randy-James-Crawford/100001407556559 Randy James Crawford

ok whatever you think but Macho Man is dead and won’t be inducted, Owen Hart’s wife won’t let him be inducted so they can’t be inducted, Donald Trump has done alot of things for WWE, and your shooting off about Cindy Lauper well Cindy Lauper saved wrestling when she brought her then Body Guard Hulk Hogan in and they saved wrestling, Mike Tyson and Cindy Lauper helped WWE in the Monday Night Wars as well as Wrestlemania.

  • wwetnadudez

I don’t care if anyone else likes him or not, I freaking love Trump, really glad to see him in the HOF

    • moody1

I know right, because he’s such a good wrestler. (sarcasm to the Nth degree)

  • Noach

Does Donald get the $5000 standard appearance fee also?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Clare-McFadden/505577415 Clare McFadden

he better donate it to AMfar or something if he does or do something with that blooming hair

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Randy-James-Crawford/100001407556559 Randy James Crawford

Ok all of these celebrities deserve to be in the Hall of Fame, Mike Tyson, Mr. T, Cindy Lauper, Donald Trump, ect and for people who don’t know Macho Man and Owen Hart will probably never ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame because of Randy’s Wishes to have the whole Poffo Family inducted with him and Vince is against it, and Owen Hart’s wife Martha Hart hates WWE and is against him ever being in the WWE Hall of Fame.

  • YouGonGetGotSon

You don’t have to tell me things i already know Crawford, i grew up watching Wrestling. Most importanty i grew up in the Attitude Era. When wrestling wasn’t an overacted, cheesy, soap opera. At least The Rock is back. Makes it tolerable again. Don’t get me wrong, i never miss RAW regardless.

I’m going to quote something I heard one day in foreigner owned convenience store: “This is the bullshit!”
