now that is good for business!

  • 2muchfire

He did it… for… the people(rock voice)and also you, the ungrateful IWC.

  • 7 year old boy

Man I swear these idiot IWC years ago were pleading for the Rock to come back and now that he returns all they can do is bash the great one. You guys are hypocrites. The Rock gets more pie in a day then you all get in a lifetime!!!

How do you know what pie is little boy?
but seriously you’re right i love that the rock is back, but i just want more matches throughout the year from him SS, Survivor Series, hey maybe extreme rules since it turned into one of WWE’s top PPVs

      • 7 year old boy

Everyone knows what pie is, it’s food that you eat :D I guess it’s in Rock’s diet everyday I assume since he talks about it so much.

i love it. Great comment. i hate the indy fanboy hordes that have ruled the iwc. Glad to see people calling them out on thier bull s**t

      • Kyle

The iwc has always been full of shit…

    • http://twitter.com/NovaWWE Not a cop

Agree %100, but i guess people dislike how he just comes back, gets a title shot, leaves for 6 months, returns wins, and misses majority of shows. At least he could take time off making shitty movies, and do live events, and attend Raw, until after Wrestlemania, instead of just being the champ that never shows up.
Either way, the IWC will continue to suck everyone’s dick, and when someone makes the return they’ll start bashing them.

      Logic. :P

    • TheKillingMoon

Quoting the people’s ass with that last line? How original you are.

…Perhaps you don’t get the joke?

  • Clark

I’m glad the Rock is back for the most part in WWE, but they shouldn’t put the title on him if he can’t be there every week as champion. CM Punk drew in good ratings too when he first won the title from Cena, same will happen with the rock, the more RAW’s he misses as champion the faster the ratings will once again decline. and “Live VIA Satellite” won’t work either, people will watch and will go to arenas and pay to see the rock as champion, only if he’s actually there!

    • Bushwald Sexyface

He missed one week so far. Honestly, it didn’t hurt the show a bit. And having such a hard working guy as champ is good for them. It also makes the title seem much more important to have a guy that is so busy want to come back and win it. All around, it’s been a great business decision for WWE so far.

      • Rocky Sucks

The rock is a hard worker? Are you fucking kidding me? The guy spends most of his time being catered to while sitting in a trailer waiting to step in front of a camera and say a few lines. Man, sounds hard to me. No a hard worker is being there for 434 days, and not missing an event. Having knee surgery and working what, 2 weeks later? The Rock is a transitional champion and he is past his prime. His material is generic recycled crap that he’s been using since the late 90’s.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=732542390 Donte Shoshona Gopual

Youre talking about one of the guys that made it so youre not watching WCW right now and Vince Russo wins his 16th world title…..nuff said.
          The Rock=Hard worker

          • Rocky Sucks

No instead we get to see the Rock come in and end a 434 day title reign so he can lose it at Mania in the most obvious way ever. Much better writing.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

            Change your tampon already.

          • Rocky Sucks

Look how mad you got just because I disagreed with you. That’s pretty damn hilarious.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

I’m mad? You’re the one continously whining and bringing up grammar because people dont agree with you. Look at how you’re deflecting now and changing the subject. Come on, you’re making it entirely too easy.

P.S. – It would take a lot more than what you have provided to upset me, especially about something on the internet. Try harder or stick to the topic.

          • Bushwald is Mad

No I think just given the amount of times you’ve responded makes it quite clear who is in fact upset. You’ve obviously never encountered a troll because you’re making this entirely too easy.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

Aw, so you felt the need to make a name too. That’s cute. Again though, try harder :)

        • Bushwald Sexyface

Are you fucking kidding me in saying he isnt? The dude made how many movies last year and is making how many this year on top of returning to WWE and wrestling? Please, shut the hell up with your ignorant whining already and learn something before you comment.

          • Rocky Sucks

And how is making movies difficult? You stand in front of a camera, do some “acting” and then go back inside your luxury trailer with people to wait on your every request. Sounds like a hard life.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

Since it’s so easy, genius, why dont you run along and go make some movies yourself, make millions in the process, and then wrestle on top of it.

        • Ayatollah of rock N rolla

nice to see your not bias.

          • Rocky Sucks

            Nice to see you’re illiterate.

          • Ayatollah of rock N rolla

Oh boo hoo cry me a river, check Rock’s schedule then talk. kthnxbai

  • http://www.facebook.com/Black14th Steve James

“Uh, duh, uh, you can’t give Rock credit for good ratings! Just cuz the ratings skyrocketed when he came back! Uh, duh, maybe Punk could have pulled in more ratings if he’d had more time!! But, uh, a-duh, they only gave him 434 days!! How he ‘sposda get ratings when he hardly had no time, uh, duh?!”

    • Reality

Dude wtf? Punk could have become bigger without the brake to his momentum in 2011’s summer. He hardy main evented as WWE champ. No surprise he’s not a big draw. You’re not supposed to be a big draw by yourself, you need the right booking. Rock had the right booking during the attitude era. Stone Cold also. Punk? Not really. I could give you a couple of scenarios that would have put him amazingly over, the bigger one was making HHH the heel corporate ruler of WWE, with the Kliq trying to screw Punk. And then bang! You got yourself your new face of WWE.
Doesn’t change the fact that he’s the most entertaining guy when you’re no mark

      • http://www.facebook.com/Black14th Steve James

He was given every chance to become the “Face”, the “Big Draw!” It’s not like he’s been in a fued with Brooklyn Brawler for the past 434 days! He was paired with so-called “wrestling genius” Paul Heyman. No ratings. He beat Cena multiple times-no ratings. He was allowed to retain in the face of Ryback’s monster push- no ratings.
So what if you’re not the last match of the night. You go out when you’re up, as the WWE Champion, and you make yourself, and whatever you’re doing, the Main Event. You put on a match that puts everyone else to shame. If you go out there first, and are stuck wrestling Brooklyn Brawler, then you damn sure make it the best damn match of the night. A greasy little slimeball with a big mouth and a persecution complex can only coast so far on one half-decent promo. The problem with Punk and his fans is- he’s percieved as this rebel, some kind of wrestling saviour, when the sad truth is- he’s just a company man, towing the company line, no different from Cena.
At the very least, people should have been tuning in around the halfway point of his Title reign, just to see who this guy was that had held the belt for so long. But nope, no ratings.

        • Reality

Lol you can’t stay consistent in your very first lines! You talk about the chances to become “Face” and then give every heel segments that happened. And let’s look at your examples: the Ryback finish? And the fact that he cannot beat Cena clean? Are those what you call the right booking to make him become the “big draw”? I don’t have to read the rest of your post to already say that you don’t know what you’re talking about. But I’ll do it anyway.
“You put in a match that puts everyone else to shame”. How many times did Punk do that? Against Cena at MitB. Against Bryan multiple times. Against Ziggler. And let’s not forget Y2J.
Punk did everything right. Again: read my fucking post again if you can’t understand it: YOU NEED THE RIGHT BOOKING ALONG WITH THE TALENT! BOOOOOKIIIING!
Again: his momentum got a brake because of HHH. In 2011 Punk was extremely popular and sold more merchandise than Cena. But Punk suffered from bad decisions. To become the big draw, the new babyface, you need a big guy to put you over at least. Cena, nor HHH did that. Get it now?
Don’t reply such a long post if it isn’t worth it.
“one half-decent promo” -> This only makes you a complete fool.

          • http://www.facebook.com/Black14th Steve James

“Face”, as in “Face of the Company”, but you knew that. We can argue the finer points of CM Punks popularity or lack thereof, but the most important point is this: his 434-day title reign is over. And it will likely never happen again. Not for years. Not with him.
And as far as “the right booking,” he did get the right booking. At the end. With the Rock. Ratings galore.

        • Reality

seriously? I told you not to reply if it’s not worth it. *sigh*

  • Oliver_Twisted

How about the WWE bring its anit-bullying campaign to their employees? You know, lead by example.

Raw and Smackdown still suck. Having The Rock show up here and there and doing concerts where he tells the same sex and fat jokes doesn’t save it for me.

  • WCWPunk

The IWC seriously needs to open up their eyes and ears to what we’re witnessing. We are experiencing Dwayne “THE ROCK” Johnson in action in WWE on a pretty good WWE appearance level. What makes it tough for him is that his is a high demand movie actor who’s given movie offer after movie offer. For him to appear on WWE constantly on television and to only miss one show since January 7th says alot. The thought that after seven long years, he simply could’ve just keep making movies and never returned to WWE. His appearance and contribution to us fans is something we all should appreciate.

    • guest

It doesn’t matter if they’re experiencing Dwayne “THE ROCK” Johnson in action!!!
But on a serious note it’s pretty well known that people in the IWC only get hard for indy guys like Cm Punk, Bryan, or Ambrose.

      • WCWPunk

It doesn’t matter what your serious note is. It doesn’t matter what you want, It what THE FANS WANT, & they waited years FOR THE ROCK

  • http://www.facebook.com/jacob.rael.9 Jacob Rael

The rock wasnt even on raw this week so its just a product of it being wrestlemania season

    • http://www.facebook.com/doug.denslowe Doug Denslowe

It’s apparent the Rock will drop the title at Wrestlemania, being a part-timer won’t fly in the long run.Cena made him feel guilty about abandoning the WWE,so he’s been back, won the belt, now he’ll be a part timer like The Undertaker,HHH,&Brock Lesner. He might drop in to plug his new films, but don’t count on much more than that.

    • http://www.facebook.com/doug.denslowe Doug Denslowe

He’ll drop the belt at Wrestlemania. He might drop back in to plug a film, but don’t count on seeing him too often in the future. He’ll be a part timer like the Undertaker,HHH and Brock Lesner.

  • TheKillingMoon

Yea you bring it alright. Via tout. Nowhere near RAW this week and he wants to be part of the ratings. What a twat.

  • http://twitter.com/JJayerson Jay Jayerson

Once again time for a little calm perspective regarding the Rock and his return.

My issues begin with the way in which it is being done. It makes it rather obvious what kind of timeline is involved and how the story arc is going to finish. All entertainment requires us to suspend our disbelief. It makes it harder for us to do so when we can so easily predict the outcome.

On top of this, its banking on nostalgia. In other words, the current quality of programming is based on a factor that used to exist, but does not currently, and once again we know is only temporary.

I agree that the Rock is the shit. In fact I will go so far as to say he has paid his dues even. He’s lived the life. He’s given us memorable moments, perhaps more than any other superstar. He did it all to put smiles on our faces. Nobody here can deny the Rock has paid his dues and earned the respect of the fans.

But you know who else is the shit? Dolph Ziggler. Alberto Del Rio. Kofi Kingston. Cody Rhodes. CM Punk. These guys have been busting their asses to make names for themselves. To have the Rock, swoop in and just be thrust in the main event at the expense of any of these talented performers is also upsetting.

So. Does Rock deserve to be a headliner at Wrestlemania. You bet your ass. But so do other guys. Other hard working guys, who when Wrestlemania is over, are still going to be here. Busting their humps to do what the Rock has already done.

In the end. Its TV. And you gotta decide. Do you want to be right on the internet? Or do you want to be a happy mark? Im gonna try for both.
