El Generico Signs With WWE: More Indy Talent On The Way

It was reported last night by PWPonderings.com that independent wrestler El Generico was signed by WWE. The news has now been confirmed by multiple sources.

Generico has been pulled from this weekend’s Pro Wrestling Guerrilla event in California and could very well have wrestled his last match on the independent scene.

PWInsider is reporting that WWE signing El Generico is part of a broader company strategy to sign several of top independent workers. Specifically, WWE’s head of Talent Relations, Triple H, has “a number of names” on his radar. WWE will be actively perusing top independent talent in the coming months.

    Shame we wont see much more of the Steen’Generico fued, but I had a feeling they wanted to move onto Steen/Lethal anyway.

    But regardless while Generico definetly has the charisma to be in the WWE, Im very sceptical as to how he’ll be treated. I mean will he keep the mask (I hope to God he has A mask at least), will be look strong in the WWE (since they love to water down anything that comes to them with more experience than is needed), will he be booked well? Who knows?

    Checked him out on youtube, and i like this guy. Only thing is i think wwe is gonna weaken his wrestling style down because his moves are easy to botch. Also the way the guys were taking bumps landing on the back of their necks could be dangerous in wwe’s eyes so idk. He has TNA wrestling style. We will see.
