Elimination Chamber News: Only One Chamber Match, Big Six Man Tag Match

F4wonline.com is reporting that next month’s WWE Elimination Chamber might feature only one chamber match, which would be for the World Heavyweight championship.

With The Rock offering CM Punk a WWE Championship rematch, that would eliminate the need for a RAW brand Elimination Chamber match. The participants for the SmackDown Elimination Chamber match are rumored to be Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton and several other top SmackDown stars, possibly Mark Henry.

Another RAW brand match that we will likely see is John Cena, Ryback and Sheamus vs. The Shield’s Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.

Why don’t they make it a 6-Man Tag Elimination Chamber Match?

    • TrueFan

How would that make sense with no title in the picture, as well as the Shield going against each other? Rock putting his title on the line in a 6 man chamber wouldn’t make sense either because one, John Cena is in the main event at Wrestlemania, 2) In every superstars contract is a rematch clause.. no one one would use that against 5 other superstars. Plus Punk & Rock’s rematch is exciting, even though we all have a hunch the Rock will retain, they put on a good match at Royal Rumble. Excited to see what those two bring back to the ring and if Brock will have be in the picture at all.

      • Empath

have it be something like a survivor series match except with modifications to work in an elimination chamber. one member of each team is released on, say a 5 minute timer.

        • TrueFan

Just doesn’t work fella lol. You could of course have a 6-man elimination tag in the chamber itself.. but the whole “chambers” issue would just be stupid. With the surrounding cage, you could treat it as a 6-man lumber jack match, but still.. it’s a headache lol.

          • bayarea08

It works well in the WWE video games…

          • TrueFan

Lol and Divas can beat the Big Show, what’s your point?

        • http://www.facebook.com/SharinganIxU Lee Morris

I was thinking the same, this is a great idea.
Sadly, I don’t think WWE have the creativity for such a thing.

        • Mr_Shrimp_Vendor

Hate to say it, seeing as you seem like a nice fella and all, but honestly, you’re losing an up hill battle against common sense logic here. Makes no sense to have an elimination tag match inside an elimination chamber.

You make it sound like they could do their own version of a war games or lethal lockdown match inside an elimination chamber cage and it simply can not be done with the way the chamber cage is set up and the pods posing an issue. Sorry, but there’s just no logical way this match idea of yours can be made possible.

          • tiran66

Lots of ways you could do it. Have all six men start in the chamber, you get pinned you get put into a pod. Or start the match as normal, one Shield and one of the other team start, pod opens every 5 minutes, you get pinned you leave the chamber.

          • cm2012

Not trying to be rude. Did any of you EVER see WarGames? I think this could work… You have one from each team starting. At random, one side will get the 2 on 1 advantage… then it will be set, not random, to be evened. Then, a random pick for one more advantage spot, then the last guy…

There are multiple ways to go about doing it. It could EASILY work.

      • WWEFan4Life

The sheild wouldnt be going up against each other… What are you talking about???

        • TrueFan

If there was a title involved or #1 contender shot, do you REALLY think there would be an alliance? NO!

          • WWEFan4Life

if there was, then yes cos the shield haven’t shown signs of wanting any title in the wwe, their just bothered about injustice, at least thts how wwe made them look

    • WWEFan4Life

Yeah, that would be a good idea. We havent sen a 6 man tag elimination chamber for so long, and I think that if the sheild do something like powerbomb someone of off the top of the chamber pod (like they did with daniel bryan at TLC) it will really build them as a heel tag team

  • valo

    Believe in The Shield.

  • pwnez

I was kind of hoping to see the Rock in the elimination chamber. I’m glad they are finally putting the Shield in another match; it’s about time.

Frankly, The Shield need to lose this match. They were just outed as Paul Heyman’s faction and now the mystery behind that is gone. Unless they will insert The Shield into the Triple H v Lesnar feud, The Shield need to lose so they can adapt into something else. They can’t stay Punk’s enforcers now.

    • TrueFan

      I completely agree

    • mrchopper

But now they’ve been outed as muscle for hire, so technically anybody can hire them. If it does end up being Cena vs. Rock at WM, they could easily turn one of them by having the Shield get involved again. Thing is, I don’t think they’ll ever turn Cena and I can’t see Rock wanting to go out as the bad guy. As you were.

    • matt1

that’s completely idiotic and typical for a PG era fan. Let’s build something up and kill it at it’s climax. Don’t they do this to absolutely everyone and everything.. Yeah let’s take some of our top new monster heels and have them job to Raw superstars and move way down the card and split up… Come on.

      • DigitalWWE

First off, your an idiot. Secondly, I laughed at PG era fan. I’ve probably been a fan of wrestling longer than you’ve been alive judging by your child-like logic. The Shield losing is not killing them off at the climax. One of two things needs to happen. The Shield need to lose or The Shield need to win with a new employer. They need to evolve beyond this appear, beat someone up, leave thing. The Nexus spoke about how “the winds of change are blowing” and “everything we do is for a much higher purpose.” Yet, we never saw any of that. They lost their first match at Summerslam. The Shield won their first match.

  • cappa37

Despite what the indy community has said on here, the shield are boring as shit. It’s been the same thing for 2 months now. come through the crow, attack random wrestlers, leave. Aces&Eights > Shield.

    • aj2345

Totally agree with you. I don’t see it either.

    • 44

    • pwnez

You can blame WWE for that one. Poor booking at best. Aces and 8s was good at the beginning but ever since they have been revealing these no talent stars as members it’s been pretty horrible.

    • 2muchfire

All of you need to just shut the hell up and stop bitching about this and that. I should smack the shit outta each and every one of you guys. #yourallbitches

Six-Man Tag inside the Elimination Chamber would be better than a regular Six-Man Tag against SuperCena and SuperSheamus

    • http://JimmyCruz.com/ JimmyCruz.com

      a.k.a. Team Bland and Boring

      • http://twitter.com/AJCampbellNYG Andrew Campbell

Lol more like Team bland, corny, and overrated.

    • WWEFan4Life

      Yup, definately

  • http://www.facebook.com/tomwing77 Thomas Wing

It makes sense for The Shield to lose at EC. They have been running over everyone since November. It makes sense for The Shield to get what is coming to them. Oh….and them getting beat….does not mean they are killed off. It isn’t the end of the world if they lose.

    • matt1

      wrong… just wrong.

    • http://www.facebook.com/craig.deboard Craig DeBoard

But if they aren’t allowed the opportunity to get their heat back through promos and shit on episodes of Raw, then it does kill them off. And thus far WWE seems almost afraid to put a live mic in their hand.

    • http://twitter.com/HoodedBenjamin Benjamin

At the moment, yes, yes it would. They’ve been used as Punk’s lackeys for a while now, they need to break out further on their own separate from him as a dominant force. If they get beat down now, then anyone can do it. Nobody will be “scared” of them anymore in-storyline since they got beat.

    • WWEFan4Life

The whole point of wwe bringing the shield into the main roster was because they wanted something different. Think of it as the nexus when they came to wwe they destroyed anything and anyone. That was because wwe wanted it tht way, just like thy want it tht way too, with the shield

  • NWO blood

    Where is Christian ?

  • Dirty White Boy

For the people saying that an elimination chamber tag match doesn’t make sense, they did something pretty similar in WCW for years that was very successful known as War Games.

  • Rock Solid

I bet WWE does only one Elimination chamber match this year. Reason being.. because Rock will be busy defending his title against CM Punk one on one, and John Cena/Sheamus/Ryback are all occupied with the Shield. That leaves only a WHC EC match with Del Rio, Orton, Big Show, Ziggler, Jericho, and probably Wade Barrett. There wouldn’t be room enough for #1 contender WHC EC match since all the big names are occupied in Del Rio’s EC match, and they won’t focus the whole ppv on the WHC belt. And most importantly, no #1 contender to the WWE title EC match because John Cena already is #1 contender.
Unfortunately people, I think they are only doing one EC this year.

    • Rock Solid

Some people might assume that WWE will bring out a second EC chamber match this year , but it looks like it won’t happen at all. I think they are cutting back. They should make up for this on another PPV like Night of champions or Summer Slam, but unfortunately they will not. Watch them probably cut back on TLC too. This annoys me since I enjoy seeing multiple EC matches and HIAC matches, and WWE still owes the fans an extra HIAC/EC match the way I look at it!

      • 2Sweet

WWE likes watering down their shit… that’s why lol hiac last year was not only the only hiac match but it was like 15 mins long lmao

      • Bryce

Yeah, I get what you mean… but I think they counted the HIAC match at WM 28 as one of the two which is why they probably didn’t want to do two at the hiac ppv. It’s too bad we didn’t get to see Cena/Punk have closure inside the cell, their feud was meant for it!

  • EMPunk

Now which match will close the event???
Rock vs. Punk? Shield vs. Team Cena? WHC Chamber match?
Logic would dictate that Smackdown gets the main event spot because they have a World title on the line in a chamber match……. But likely Rock vs. Punk will close with Shield vs. Cena as a close second.

    1. match
    2. match
    3. WHC chamber
    4. divas match
    5. Team Cena vs. Shield
    6. random BS skit
    7. Rock vs. Punk

    • GodsLoyalSon

That’s a logical standpoint but I think what they will do is kick off the PPV with the EC match to get the crowd hype for whats to come. Then proceed with a couple of matches before doing the six-man tag in the middle of the show then have Rock/Punk close the show out.
      Here’s mine
      1. WHC chamber
      2. match
      3. match
      4. Six-man
      5. divas match
      6. match
      7. Rock vs Punk

  • HunnyBunnyAngel

Why not do a 6-man chamber? That could be epic. The Shield is getting their 2nd match! I kinda like how they’ve only had one match so far.

  • Thomas-24/7 (Mutascale)

Good, one chamber is better than two; more carnage.

As for the Shield, I gave up on them when I first saw them.

  • http://www.facebook.com/craig.deboard Craig DeBoard

Putting The Shield in such a match is stupid. They need to be placed in a strong feud. We’ve already seen them have a random match against three guys (at TLC) and get used as filler for time, once already. They need to be allowed to get on a live mic in the ring on Raw and they need to be allowed to have more TV time in order to get over properly. Ambrose is as much a genius on the mic as Reigns is powerful or Rollins is technical. To deny them that opportunity to cut promos on live TV in front of an audience, not the backstage stuff but in front of actual people, is what a real injustice is.

And frankly I call bullshit. No way does a Smackdown Elimination Chamber Match happen without Sheamus being in it. I would either expect him to participate in that instead or expect to see him wrestle twice that night (which for him, it wouldn’t be too surprising).

  • wwetnadudez

I think a IC elimination chamber could be pretty cool, it would give a secondary title a bigger profile match and more people could work the show.
