Jim Ross Comments On Why Steve Austin Doesn’t Make More Appearances For WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated the Q&A section of JRsBarBQ.com and responded to a fan asking about why Steve Austin doesn’t make more appearances for WWE:

“One has to be booked and have something specific planned to do. A talent just doesn’t show up and go into business for himself. If WWE wants Austin to return they have to work out something that both parties like. Simple.”

Speaking of Steve Austin, WWE is interested in him making a special appearance at WrestleMania 30, but he won’t be wrestling on the show. While Austin has teased a potential match with CM Punk, he made it clear to WWE that he has no plans to get back in the ring any time soon, if ever.

This guy’s body is probably battered through all of the wrestling he has done, most guys would have stopped after he broke his damn neck, but the guy still came back and continued to grow. I don’t expect him to return and don’t think he really has to, tbh.

After watching how people reacted to The Rock coming back, why would he want to come back and help out a bunch of people who will complain behind his back but rush to shake his hand when he’s there?

Cuz he’s smart that’s why. He’s saved his money and doesn’t need to do anything he doesn’t want to do. He said himself he’s healthy enough to work for two years if he wanted. He knows enough to stay away and not tarnish his legacy. And that’s the bottom line

The guy’s 49 and hasn’t wrestled in a decade. If it was ever going to happen, this year was pretty much the last chance (and even now it’s arguably too late). A 50+ year-old Stone Cold isn’t going to be able to enhance his legacy in any way by working another match, no matter how much people might miss him. Sadly, your heroes get old and they retire. Just part of life.

i agree,he must face cm punk at wm30

As great as “one more match” for Stone Could could have been, that ship has probably sailed

If he would have never broke his neck, I think he’d still be there today

Stone Cold needs to stay away from competing in the ring. Not only is his body not healthy enough to compete. But it would damage his legacy. I think his last match with The Rock at Wrestlemania 19 was a good way to end his career. He’s done enough for the business. Thanks for the memories Steve

From the ‘Talk is Jericho’ podcast, it doesn’t seem like Stone Cold wants to even come back.

Austin has to be at wm 30 he has to be. even if its just a backstage segment with lets say hogan he has too

coming back for one more super safe brawl with punk is just not worth it. stay retired. like when mj came back on the wizards. it alright but not the game we remembered. i rather remember him on top of his game.

Too many special appearances isn’t special.

Attention IWC: Steve Austin isn’t wrestling again. Period. Let’s all move on and end the speculation.
