JR Blog: Jeff Hardy Back In WWE, New Projects, TNA & More

Published On February 8, 2012 | By | Wrestling News, WWE News

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety over at JRsBarBQ.com.Here are some highlights of what JR wrote about:

New Projects In The Works: “The King and I spent about 2+ hours working on a new project that we will continue to work on over the next month or so. More info on it when the time is right.”

“I also worked on a new, DVD project, unaware of the release date, on the Top 50 Finishing Moves in Wrestling on Monday. That should be an interesting DVD and as is customary with ‘lists’ or ‘top ten’s, etc” it will likely be controversial to some fans. Nonetheless I had fun doing it and it brought back some cool memories.”

Whether He’d Like To Buy TNA: “Lord, no. I have no desire, or the funding, to attempt to manage or own any wrestling company at this stage of my life. There are too many headaches and I’m not into sports psychology or managing a day care center for wrestlers.

Does He Hate TNA? “Hell, no. Why would I hate TNA? That makes no sense. It provides fans with more product to enjoy and more importantly, to me, provides wrestlers with another place to live their dream and earn a living. Same goes for ROH or any other promotion. The healthier those companies are the better it is for the overall genre. Any one who thinks that I ‘hate’ other wrestling organizations is 100% Pet Coon Goofy.”

Will Jeff Hardy Ever Return To WWE? “I have no way of answering that question other than to speculate that answer would be a ‘not likely.’ I have no way of knowing if Jeff would even be interested or if WWE would be interested. If Jeff is happy in TNA, then my suggestion to him as a friend would be to enjoy the ride and save your cash.”

The thing that annoys me is the fact that Jeff had just overtaken John Cena in popularity right before he left. If Jeff never left, we might not have had to suffer watching Cena on top for all these years.

Jeff may return to WWE someday, but at the end of the day he will never stay around long. He enjoys having the freedom to do his own thing as well as getting high; All things he can get away with in TNA.

Don’t be stupid, Jeff never took over popularity-wise over Cena. Stop letting you’re blind hate influence your words.

Okay, name what Cena was doing when Hardy was on his way out.

Its a well known fact that Jeff was more popular than Cena at the time. Jeff overtook him in merchandise and was scoring the loudest pops of the night, while Cena’s ass was still getting booed out of arenas.

hello andrew, jeff was popular, punk really benefited with that feud with jeff, but punk is punk (much better than jeff and that’s a different debate).

Just before he left, he was at the height of his popularity, and would have been a regular in the main-event scene, i would love to have seen a ziggler v/s jeff or a kofi v/s jeff, full blown main event level feud.

But it is jeff to blame, for what he is today, and not the WWE, Any sensible businessman would have got rid of jeff, for what trouble jeff got into. And no, cena’s recent popularity has been only if ever, has been overtaken by CM PUNK, who is at the absolute top of his game currently.

I agree, but I wouldn’t say Punk has fully overtaken him just yet. Punk’s “Best in the World” shirt is selling more than Cena’s “Rise Above Hate” shirt, but I think Punk is still establishing himself as a top babyface right now and he’s not quite there yet. But it can definitely happen.

He’s not the same star he was though. 2008 was his year.
