Lesnar’s Influence On WWE Scouting, Lita Upset, Ambrose-Foley

– With the recent signing of Brock Lesnar, there are some people in WWE that are hoping it will help the company recruit more amateur wrestlers.

– The Dean Ambrose vs. Mick Foley feud continued on Wednesday night, with Ambrose tweeting the following messages about Foley:

“I wonder if Mick would be so happy sitting on his high horse if it was his kids in wheelchairs.”

“I’d rather go work in a gas station than apologize for what I said in Miami, Spin it however you want cuz I didnt ask for anybodys opinion”

— Former WWE diva Amy “Lita” Dumas was in Miami for WrestleMania weekend and spoke to fans at the Axxess fan fest about the current state of WWE’s Divas division. In the following video, Lita talks about being frustrated with the situation, calling it a “bummer” to see what the division has become after her and Trish took it to unprecedented heights 10 years ago:

If the WWE really wants to attract more amateur wrestlers, they should start allowing people like Daniel Bryan to showcase a more technical style, instead of forcing everybody to adopt the same generic style.

    • Chapman

Amen, could not have said it better myself.

    • Superlative

The WWE style is made for television due to time constraint, they want decent average matches so they can fit all the angles and stuff onto television. You can ask pretty much anyone and they will tell you the wrestling is far better at the house shows and on Friday Night Smackdown.

      • CleverNameTaken

Even so, they’re wasting their best talent even when it comes down to the time when angles should “pay off” for the fans. Yes, I’m referring to WrestleMania.

        • Superlative

I disagree, Daniel Bryan’s character isn’t known to be quite the competitor when it comes to defending his title so in a sense his character “got what he deserved” and just in case you hadn’t noticed it paid off huge, he’s more over than he’s ever been.

    • CleverNameTaken

Well stated; I agree entirely.  They can’t expect people with strong amateur backgrounds to want to work for them if they’re going to be subjected to joke holds and brawling.

  • Number1HashTagHeel

I think Lita & Trish would absolutely have to step in and help train & develop the divas in order for the divas division to improve.

Beth, Natalya, Kharma, Tamina, Layla, Eve, AJ, Maxine, Naomi, Sofia, Raquel & Paige are the only women in the company right now who can take the womens division to a better level. They just need to step up to their full potential & get rid of that princess barbie sparkly shiny glittery  butterfly bling belt that they call a championship & bring back the  real female championship, the WWE Women’s Title.

    • IKeepsit100

I think WWE needs to stop using the word DIVA in my opinion + everything you said.

      • Rhawk

Neither, what WWE NEEDS to do is actually give a damn about its Divas Division instead of putting them in 30 second matches. I mean I praise them for putting more of them in segments backstage and in valet roles, but they really need to improve this development even further to get better out of their women.

who is sofia raquel and paige? and btw u forgot kaitlyn

      • Number1HashTagHeel

Sofia, Raquel & Paige are the FCW (WWE Developmental) divas. Sofia was trained by Carlos Colon Sr. and was on Tough Enough (Her name was Ivelisse), Raquel is Eddie & Vickie Guerrero’s daughter, and Paige is Britani Knight from Shimmer.

As for Kaitlyn, IDK, at times she can show so much potential but then just becomes so sloppy. She needs work.

Ambrose is gonna be one of the best heels when he debuts. I can’t wait, damnit!

  • Patriclese

Even if they are amateur wrestler their gonna be stuck in developmental learning WWE’s style wrestling for a long time. Focus on moving the fcw talent up to the main roster now. Take things one step at a time, people don’t become stars overnight. And please stop giving us huge muscle guys who can’t wrestle.

And Ambrose would destroy Foley haha

With Brock Lesnar back Hopefully Joe Hennig gets notice since Brock and Curt use to be Great friends back in the day. As for the Divas Division I still have hope. With Beth, Natalya, Layla, improvements by Eve and Tamina on the Roster. Just mix these women up and work with Ivelisse (Sofia) , Shaul Guerrero (Raquel), and Britini Knight (Paige). When Kharma recovers from her tragedy, she’s going to bring wrath back to the Division. Can’t wait to see Dean on the SmackDown Roster hopefully!

  • LittleJimmyGotGot

I’m sorry but I can’t stand when people mention Kharma as someone who can “wrestle”. She can’t wrestle she’s the diva with the powerhouse slams. She ain’t technical one bit. If she was the size of Kelly kelly nobody would be saying she can wrestle better than other divas.

    • Dontayhollins

she’s a beast thats all that matters she is a dominates

      • LittleJimmyGotGot

Yeah cause of her size, they have to sell her as a powerhouse

    • Chalkeevthunder

she’s actually very good in the ring. She’s swift, has presence and executes her moves well. I’d say she is a fantastic wrestler. She works at a very good pace.

      • LittleJimmyGotGot

I don’t know, I’ve seen her at local events where I live and I just don’t see it. IBy swift if you’re talking about hitting a huge slam then walking around starring at her opponent then yeah she’s pretty swift.I still think the only reason she gets mentioned as much as she does is cause of her size

        • Chalkeevthunder

I think her work with Gail in TNA speaks for itself.

  • Dustyfholes

Lita is still super hott. Those pants are doing it for me

    • Raju B

u’ve seen her mugshot without makeup? would u still find her hot then?

  • Dontay Hollins

the divas division is pathetic plain and simple i don’t give a care how good they look only “wrestler” there is Beth Phoenix and natalia

  • the_unknown

Am I the only person who thinks Dean Ambrose is really crazy? I don’t think this is a gimmick lol

    • Dick Chipperson

I don’t know, but the WWE definitely needs a crazy person on the roster because Brian Pillman isn’t around to fill that void.

  • Realone08

Think it’s safe to say that the ones who should be running the Diva’s division (i seriously wish WWE would drop the moniker, it’s stupid, they are women) are Trish and Lita. I think as soon as the tag match at WM started, the entire WWE ‘Women’s’ division, in the past 10 years leading up to it has gone from exciting, to sexy, to fair, to boring, to 2 minute bathroom breaks, and now to the term “I don’t give a [insert curse]”. Either it needs a complete fix now, or it’s never going to recover, and then placed on the back burner for a long long time, maybe longer than the WWE Tag team division was. If there’s a petition starting up for Lita and Trish to lead the recovery, I’ll sign up.

Why would SEScoops headline an article about complete speculation. Credibility out the window.
