Mercury’s WWE Return, Cena Mentioned In Rap Song, ROH

– Rapper Foxy Brown mentions WWE Superstar John Cena in her new song “Let ‘em Know.” Brown says she’ll “Slam A B**** On Her Back Like I’m John Cena.” No word on whether Foxy Brown also does the five knuckle shuffle.

– Tonight’s WWE house show at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, PA has been rescheduled to next Thursday due to the expected snow storm. Ring of Honor is running a TV taping tonight at the ECW arena (starting at 7:30pm) and has announced anybody who had tickets to tonight’s rescheduled WWE show gets into their show for free.

– It was recently reported that former WWE tag champion Joey Mercury is on his way back to the company. According to Mike Aldren, one idea currently being discussed by the WWE creative team is to have Mercury return on SmackDown as part of CM Punk’s Straight-Edge Society. Mercury was released from WWE back in 2007 after a well-documented battle with pain killer addiction, so the angle would be playing off real issues.

    The Straight-edge Society is an annoying nice idea. Punk as an “evil” predicator, and that group just gave me the same feeling as the Right To Censor in the beginnings of the new millenium. So nice that cool stables began to take place again.

    straight edge society is a good concept, adding another wrestler like joey mercury would be a good way to bring him back & to add another wrestling strenth to the straight edge alliance,+ it could set up a storyline with morrison…
    it would be good if they got another bigger/good name to join to make it stronger though.., otherwise it will die off & guys like gallows will be left on the sidelines when they should be pushed.. afterall wwe need to build the next generation more than ever..

    I like this idea, Mercury was always an okay in-ring performer, but he, much like his good buddy Morrison, lacks charisma. Having him be one of Punk’s back-up would help him, since Punk would do the talking.
