Ric Flair Scheduled to Confront CM Punk Next Week On RAW

Next week’s 20th Anniversary edition of RAW is shaping up to be a big one, with several surprise appearances planned by former WWE superstars.

F4wonline.com is reporting that WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is scheduled to appear on the show and the current plan is for him to confront WWE Champion CM Punk.

WWE legends rumored for next week’s RAW from Houston, Texas include the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin. It’s also expected that WWE will announce the first member of the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2013.

RAW’s 20th Anniversary special will be the first time WWE is not head-to-head with football on a Monday night in several months. Without that competition, another advertised appearance by The Rock and the big returns that are planned, WWE has a great opportunity to build on the momentum of this week’s strong RAW rating headed into the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania season.

      With the WWE, you never know. I thought Raw 1000 was going to be good, but it wasn’t in my view.

        I don’t think they ever intended to further any storylines that night. However, I think they will try to do that this Monday.

          Well, they did further storylines with Cm Punk vs. John Cena, Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar, and set up The Rock vs CM Punk at the Royal Rumble. So they did something on that night.

          With many big names like Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, and The Undertaker, and other names making appearances, several opportunities can happen from then to WrestleMania.

            Maybe I missed something. How did they further Punk/Cena? I didn’t even know they were feuding, or did you mean Rock? and I didn’t see anything about HHH/Lesnar on the show

            It was when Brock Lesnar accepted-via Paul Heyman-challenge to face Triple H at Summer Slam; also, it was the night when CM Punk defended the WWE Championship against John Cena, where CM Punk turned heel and attacked The Rock which furthered the storyline, and I guess it furthered the storyline between Triple H and Brock Lesnar if that match happens at WrestleMania.

        They were never trying to further anything. It was strictly a celebration episode. I think this one will be a mixture of both, which can be a good thing.

    The show’s in Texas, so I think it’s guaranteed Austin, Michaels and Taker will be there. It’s not like they’ve got far to travel.

    Then again, what if Austin and Punk confront each other, if Austin appears next week?

      I’m hoping for Punk and Austin. I don’t know if anybody else caught this the other week but Punk listed off names that he could beat with 1 arm tied behind his back or something like that and the last name was Austin. Pretty random because other names were Ryback, Cena, Flair, and Rock.

      Wouldn’t it be fucking hilarious if Austin confronts Punk and then at Mania, Austin helps Punk beat The Rock since Austin has never liked The Rock. Everyone who’s been wanting to see Austin vs. Punk would be pissed. That would be hilarious.

        Sounds similar when Austin and Mr. Mcmahon aligned at WrestleMania 17; no one saw it coming. Would be interesting: Austin, Punk, and Brock Lesnar with Paul Heyman, that would be interesting.

    I only want to see Rock/ HBK/ Taker / Austin as far as legends are concerned. The other legends like Flair, Slaughter, Snuka, Okerlund, Piper etc… Don’t care about these guys anymore. That’s just the way I feel.
