Roddy Piper ‘Ends The Story’ On Vince McMahon & Randy Savage

— To add further fuel to the widespread belief that held in contempt during the wrestling legend’s final years, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper claimed Friday on Twitter that the multi-time world champion once slapped the WWE Chairman at a bar.

He wrote, “Randy slapped Vince in a bar…End of that story!!”

The WWE Hall of Famer was writing stories on Savage following his passing earlier in the day.

Former WWE talent Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, however, doesn’t believe that their alleged animosity is due to the bar incident in question. He wrote on Twitter in response to a fan bringing up the allegation: “I respectfully disagree with Roddy. Not that it didn’t happen, but it’s not where the heat came from.”

There is a long-standing internet rumor regarding an alleged incident between Savage and Stephanie McMahon that was said to have occurred several years ago, therefore explaining Vince’s animosity towards him. While the allegation has never been verified, Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer said on his podcast two years ago that ‘top people’ within WWE believed the rumor to be true, though not known for sure.

— CNN covered the passing of Randy Savage here. The news organization referred to WWE as a “wrestling federation.”

— Today would have marked as the 44th birthday of and 47th birthday of Nancy “Woman” Benoit.

  • Frank The Tank

    Happy Birthday Nancy and Chris!

  • TLDD2010

Defiantly a sad story on both ends. Both great wrestlers in their time who have been taken away from us fans to early in life. Prayers defiantly go out to the family of Macho Man.
And if Savage really did slap McMahon well he probably deserved it. But coming from Piper you never know. Lets all hope for everyone’s sake that the Honky Tonk Man doesn’t start chiming in his two cents.

“Hey Vince, what did the 5 fingers say to the face?”

    Happy Birthday Woman

sescoops, again, much love, but DON’T quote Meltzer. You know better than that.

  • lordtwig

Hell Brett hit Vince and spit in his face on camera and Vince did business with him again. There had to be more to the hatred Vince had for Macho. It’s sad because the we will never see Macho speak at the Hall of Fame or appear on WWE again. Way to hold a grudge Vinnie Mac!

  • Timmer82

Vince has obviously gotten softer as the years have gone on. He’s a grandfather now and he’s loosened his grasp on the company. But, 20 years ago, this guy was the meanest toughest hard nosed basterd at the head of any company….do you really think that if the rumors were true about Macho Man and Steph, that Vince wouldn’t have had Randy’s nuts pickled in a jar….I dont’ think so.

  • DatUsed2BWWEFAN

Wow, Vince has problems with a lot of people. Macho, Bret, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and even the fans.

  • TotalNonstopAddict

It doesn’t really matter what happened any more. The past is the past. We’re never going to know. Maybe this is what happened. Maybe he did sleep with Stephanie (who was of a legal age to do so consentually by the way). Now that Savage had died can’t we just remembe him as the great wrestler he was and accept that whatever happened happened.?

RIP Machoman Randy Savage. You pioneered an entire style of wrestling and inspired many ofthe athletes we’ve seen in recent years. You will never be forgotten.

  • ad9esr716

So vince is the bad guy here for holding a grudge for a guy who punched him, jumped ship to help the competition and possibly slept with his only daughter? Where’s the logic in that?… R.I.P. Macho man tho!

  • Ahn

There are more rumors about what allegedly happened between Savage and Stephanie than what’s been mentioned here. If any of the rumors are true, its hard to see Vince not harming him in any way. Hopefully Vince will tell us the truth one day to put closure on this issue. But since Macho Man can’t speak for himself anymore, it doesn’t matter as much anymore.

  • MrFAKEBoOk

I guess it went something like this: VKM -Ur fired!MACHO MAN “SLAP” OOOOO YEAH!

  • KCfriedchicken

Got to love Piper, sets the story straight

  • BrahmaBullRKO

Wow, same birthday? Nice, happy birthday to them.

  • 10132002

    @DatUsed2BWWEFAN

What problems does VKM have with the Undertaker and HBK? As far as I know VKM holds both of these guys in very high regard.
