*Spoiler* FCW Star Debuts On SmackDown With New Gimmick

The following article contains a minor *Spoiler* for Friday’s SmackDown, taped Tuesday from London, England

Following the recent SmackDown debut of Damien Sandow, WWE has called up yet another wrestler from developmental.

FCW star Antonio Cesaro, formerly known as Claudio Castagnoli, will make his WWE television debut on Friday’s SmackDown in a backstage segment with Aksana and William Regal.

Cesaro, who was at SmackDown to meet with John Laurinaitis, now has a gimmick of a European Rugby player.

    I can’t believe Cesaro debuted before Rollins and Ambrose. Nice to see that he moved up so quickly.

      I was expecting the same thins. I was think Ambrose would debut first followed by Rollins. Well, Smackdown could use some real talent to boost the show.

    it actually took a while for me to click who Antonio was…didn’t actually realise it was him until he won the match and then I remembered it was him…=P…didn’t hear anything about him being a rugby player during his promo before the dark match or the segment with him, Aksana and Teddy Long…=/…but he did cut a pretty good heel promo…saying that we (the crowd) should respect him as he’s a European Superstar and we just booed him and chanted “WHO ARE YA ?!?!” and everything…=P

    Chris hero didnt come with him? I thought they would debut as a tag team?
    Hope they didnt decide to split them up.
    I am a little concerned with the rugby gimmick. Guess well see how that plays out.

      they’re going to there gonna make hero a face and prbably bring him up this summer id expect it to happen in late june into the first week of july.  btw hero’s WWE name is Kassius Ohno.  i din’t like it at first but it’s really starting to grow on me

    My guess is that they are just debuting him with that gimmick and then change it later back to his old gimmick and then bring in Chris Hero to be his partner. Then hopefully Castagnoli & Hero can finally be the KOW/Kings of Wrestling in the WWE, Hopefully Chris Hero debuts next, then Dean Ambrose, then Tyler Black, and finally Bo Rotundo & Husky Harris as a tag team and for divas Audrey Marie, Shaul Guerrero, Sofia Cortez & Brittany Knight.

          since Football was played a lot longer than Rugby, Rugby is the rip off. Also concussions are super common in every Rugby game so it’s played by tough “brain damaged” guys. ;)

    Well..people were worried for Brodus and his gimmick, but hey look at the pops he gets now, but this gimmick..is a bit degrading.

    Well you guys calm down…..you havent even seen the character yet. I’m pretty sure this Rugby character will come into play when he’s in the ring, you know how tough Rugby players are, his Finisher might be rugby themed and look brutal as fuck.

        No, but he does do a pretty mean uppercut, and I imagine the only way they could make a European uppercut go over as a finishing move is with some kind of “tough europe” background.
