Sting In Talks With WWE, The Next NXT Stars To Get Called Up

– WWE is is currently in talks with Sting, who is not under contract with TNA. Sting has been working a lot of recent TNA live events in what could be part of a ‘farewell tour’ for the 15-time World Champion.

– The next talents from NXT who will be called up to the main roster are Women’s Champion Paige, Emma and Alexander Rusev (with Lana).

Paige is currently out of action due to injury and did not appear at the most recent NXT tapings. The soonest we could see her back in the ring on NXT TV is the live WWE Network special on February 27th. Emma made her WWE television debut on this week’s RAW, where she was spotted in the crowd and was acknowledged on commentary. Rusev has been impressing WWE officials while working dark matches and live events.

WWE have dropped the ball with Sting they should have signed him back in 2011, he’s out of shape now can’t evan do the scorpion anymore and he wears a t-shit!

    • yrabadi

Well, who is to say they’ll bring him in to wrestle anyway? Plus, we hear this news every year and more often than not, it’s bs.

He’s on tonight’s live TNA show. If they take him out in an injury angle, then this might hold SOME weight… otherwise, it’s the same old garbage.

      • Timothy Billups

I don’t think it would hold any weight if he “quits” or “retires” or “gets injured” tonight or even next week. I would see it as TNA’s way of feeding the internet with more speculation trying to see if Sting shows up on one show or the other.
I’ll believe Sting in talks with WWE when HHH brings it up in his kayfabe interview with Michael Cole every week or Sting is spotted in Stamford heading into WWE HQ.

    • LaParkaXV

WWE dropped the ball? More like Sting dropped the ball!

      • yrabadi

Yeah, to an extent… Maybe. Fact is, at least ever since coming to TNA, Sting probably knows he couldn’t really hang in WWE. He probably knows it could very well taint his legacy. Probably a smart move on his part not to go there. I mean, how many other big-time wrestlers haven’t even stepped foot into a WWE ring? It’s a bit of a novelty.

        • LaParkaXV

Well im not sure he can get much lower than wrestling in front of 800 people in HS Gyms or Wrestling a 3 minute main event on PPV against a drugged out Jeff Hardy. Whatever legacy he had it’s been tainted at least to the 1m people that watch Impact.

  • yrabadi

I’ll believe it when I see it.
(same thing I wrote last year when this headline came around…)

    • Pozessed

Agreed there, I see them inducting him into the HOF but other than that, probably not on WWE TV much, perhaps talking or something but not really involved within the storylines.

      • rbbazza

People that watch wwe say that Goldberg does not deserve to go into the Hall of Fame but why should Sting if he has one match vs the Undertaker, growing up WCW was what i watched every week and know how much of an icon he is and was,

        • LaParkaXV

Sting was WCW when Goldberg was off trying to play football.

        • Pozessed

We don’t give a crap if he wrestled for WWE or not to be honest, the WWE HOF does induct wrestlers that have not competed with the company, for example a couple of territorial wrestlers were inducted by JR if I remember correctly, Sting is the icon, one of the only major wrestlers that people know outside of the WWE.

        • yrabadi

You can’t really compare the two, man. Sting was WCW. Goldberg might have had a nice run, but Sting was there for a long time and was the ‘franchise’ way before Goldberg even showed up. Heck Sting trained freakin Goldberg.

      • Cujo999

Sting has said that wrestling at least one match at ‘mania is at least somewhat of an itch for him to scratch. If built up properly and against the right opponent, it could be major money for WWE. I mean, can you imagine the pop if Cena, ‘taker, HHH, or even a guy like Bray Wyatt is out in the ring doing a promo and BLACKOUT, then, Crow Sting appears with a spotlight on him in the upper deck of the arena pointing the trademark black baseball bat at them and then at the WrestleMania sign? The place would become unglued.

        • Daniel Ryan

I have this fantasy of Taker coming out on RAW and making a speech where he talks about the streak and all the great superstars he’s beaten, making it sound like he’s going to retire. Then what you described happens, and Sting tells Taker “There’s one superstar you never beat!”

  • raVen

it would be interesting to see what kind of shape sting would get himself in for a mania.
the dude has to start doing some DDP yoga so he can bend his knees

  • ..

Sting “talks with WWE” every year during Wrestlemania season.

  • 9 year old boy

Please Sting end off your legebdary career in WWE.

  • Ninjastar

I truly believe its gonna happen this year Sting vs Undetaker WM30 this is great news , this is WWE last chance , its now or never . Our last dream match that all wwe fans wanna see and it just might happen!!!! Im giving it a 99% chance its gonna happen ,

  • Bushwald Sexyface

If you’re Sting, do you continue working in gyms that are half empty with basketball goals hanging above the ring or do you go to WWE for one+ match, a major payday and HOF induction. Gee, it’s not that difficult of a choice really. Hope he makes the smart move on this one.

    • yrabadi

lol… Fans like you crack me up sometimes. Not every working wrestler wants to wrestel for WWE for one match, a major payday and HOF induction. Ever think about that? Not every wrestler has that dream Not every wrestler needs to do that.

Sting has already done enough in his career to justify being a legend. He did all of it in WCW, and yeah, now he’s in TNA, a company that draws indie-like crowds. Doesn’t change the fact that he’s had his moment in the spotlight, and he’s main evented arenas that were sold out.

He might not want this. Why you guys can’t seem to understand that is beyond me.

      • a_broken_star

I agree. You guys feels like WWE is like a God’s own company and a wrestler is nothing without WWE Hall of Fame. Great wrestlers dont need WWE hall of fame to prove that they are great !!

      • Bushwald Sexyface

Oh yeah, I’m sure the guy pictured the tail end of his career full of wrestling in high school gyms that couldn’t sell out for a promotion that will be out of business soon. Hell, every wrestler should want that for themselves instead of taking advantage of all of the hard work they’ve put in throughout their career and getting that one last big hoorah, payday and sendoff that sets up their futures and their family’s future. Yeah, that’s a totally ignorant way to approach this thing called business.

        • yrabadi

You have no idea what his intentions are. Maybe he sees it as helping up-and-comers or helping a company as best he can. You have no idea how he sees things. How you can call his approach ignorant when you have no idea what his approach is is… ignorant.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

Number one, where exactly did I say I knew what his intentions are? Oh, that’s right. I didn’t. Number two, the thing I called ignorant was a sarcastic description of the way I described why he should go to WWE vs. staying in TNA. You really, really need to work on your reading comprehension.

          • yrabadi

Yeah, misinterpreted. Fair enough. I guess based on that, I really, really need to work on my ‘reading comprehension’.

  • Whatsupbb415

Sting is an awesome businessman if WWE offers him 600,000k plus a healthy percentage of the merchandise he’ll be coming to WWE if not he’ll continue too work for Spike TV

    Brace yourselves,
    sting memes are coming

  • Forceton Banfodder

Wrestlers always say “Never say Never.”

IWC’s motto should be, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

  • Buzzard Follower
  • Daniel Bryan

Sure they are…I’ll believe it when I see it.

  • Alex Dowie

The Divas division could suddenly become great with Aj, Emma, and Paige all fighting over the title.

  • Jack
  • ADementedJim (ADJ)

My prediction: Sting DOES INDEED join WWE, and part of the deal is he goes into the HOF, and retires at Wrestlemania.

  • brad

I’ve given up hope on sting ever coming to the wwe I mean apparently he’s been in talks about coming over for the past several years and it still hasn’t happened so I’ll believe it when I see it. Although I will say this if he was to come it needs to happen now, as in this year so that we could possibly see sting vs taker because I honestly feel that this is probably the last year that they could pull off that stellar match that we all want to see , but honestly sting doesn’t have much left in the tank, I mean I respect him and all for the legend he is but his days are numbered. It really is now or never for mr. Borden and I don’t think it will happen, so I guess sting will always be remembered for the biggest star to never sell out and go over to the wwe, which at a time seemed cool and respectable but at this point, well it seems pointless.

  • matthew

not happing like the past few years but I wish I could see that

  • Daniel Ryan

I am sure WWE probably lobby’s Sting to be inducted into the HOF each year. And all backstage buzz has been that WWE would live to include Sting in WM 30 in some capacity. I had been under the impression Sting had decided to tough it out in TNA, but given what a hell hole that company is becoming it would not amaze me if he is looking for a way out. And yes: my inner child desperately holes that Sting might say yes because he realizes this is probably the lady chance for the showdown with the Undertaker, which even he has admitted he has dreamed of. Too bad the actual match would probably suck at this stage.

  • Puppet H

Thanks Trips. I wanna see Paige, Paige, Paige, Paige and Emma. Anti-Diva and the Emmalution.

  • Ares

Until I see Sting on Raw.

This must be true as on Genesis he’s putting his contract on the line for TNA WHC match against Magnus! If Sting loses he’s gone. WWE HOF14?

  • 10YearOldBoy

I don’t even care about sting going to wwe anymore that match between him and taker just won’t happen.

  • smartin2293

I’ll believe it when I see it.

  • Progressed_Now

lol…….talks again. how many times have we seen this headline in the last 3 months alone? probably around the same amount of times we were told Mae Young died, and came back to life again.

  • captaindaddy72

Man will they just sign sting or just give up on him cuz these rumors EVERY year is tiring lol. And I’m excited about all 3 of those nxt stars being called up, they all can be pretty great assets 2 wwe

    • Xx_Deadpool_xX

      rusev sucks tho ….

  • WCWPunk

It’s always January of every year where Sting is “In Talks with WWE” and ends up renewing with TNA and does not show up in WWE. I’ll believe it when I see it.

  • JamieEvsxx

I guess now instead of the Royal Rumble PPV being the start of the road to Wrestlemania, the start should be the Sting/WWE rumours starts up…xD…but yeah let’s see what happens, will be surprised if this is all true…=P

  • insomniacreviewer

I don’t mind he if he makes a few appearances for WWE but please for the love of god don’t let Sting Wrestle.

  • Pfc Mark Kevin Apalisok

Sting Vs The Undertaker – Wrestlemania 30!!!!
