Taz Blogs About ECW Shutting Down, Criticizes Vince

Published On February 3, 2010 | By | TNA News

ECW original and TNA announcer Taz has posted a message on his Facebook.com page regarding Vince McMahon’s announcement that ECW is shutting down once and for all in 3 weeks.

Last night on Twitter, Taz wrote “thank god” WWE’s version of ECW is done and sarcastically called McMahon not thanking Paul Heyman or the ECW originals a “classy” move. On Facebook, Taz explains exactly what bothered him about McMahon’s announcement:

“Point is, why not acknowledge the Paul Heymens contributions to the industry? Or, saying thanks to all the ECW original wrestlers? A lot of blood, sweat and tears were dropped during the original ECW’s life! If you are going to thank cameramen & directors (etc) than acknowledge the past history because its well deserved.

Even if Vince McMahon did not feel Paul Heyman and the ECW originals deserved to be acknowledged, Taz feels Vince once again left money on the table by not getting the most out of an asset he bought:

“If you utilized the letters ECW to make a lot of $$$ over the past several years I would assume that your respect the history of ECW? If you would produce and sell a successful DVD documenting the companies history…I would assume you feel that the original ECW history has value….than why not give it a proper send off?”

He concluded the message by saying he’s happy the ECW letters are being retired, as they deserve to rest in peace. Visit Facebook.com to read the full blog.

Get over it taz, once vince brought ECW it was his to do with it what he please. Remember he didn’t kill ECW Heyman did, because he wasn’t a great businessman, hell you even had problems with Heyman. You even left ECW to go to WWF/WWE, why didn’t you stay and make ECW better, grown man still acting like a spoil baby!

You two are so naive. It’s natural that when you worked somewhere so long you become attached to it even when you move on to other things, and then when that place needs to come to an end you want it to end properly. He has a right to feel the way he feels, not that it changes anything, but it is his right.

Lol, doesn’t anyone get it? Vince obviously thanked the cameramen and the directors because they are the only things that are still on ECW that have been on there since the beginning. Vince isn’t going to give credit to anyone who isn’t in the company anymore. He also is not going to waste his breath unless he is making money in the end.

How can a guy like Tazz even question the intelligent of Wrestling Mogul Vince McMahon….. common… they guy has nothing better to do than criticize him? Hey Tazz Keep your mind on rubbish called TNA…..

    WWE rulzzzz…… sukkaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

First of all Dmoney, no one is still there “from the beginning”. 2nd, Tazz Left ECW while he was on top and was the the ECW World Champion to go to the WWE. If anyone should be pissed, it’s Tommy Dreamer and some of the other guys that stuck it out through the Heyman days. They should be pissed at Tazz for “selling out” to go to the big leagues. Even he knew ECW was small time and was on the way out.

    SCREW TAZ!!!

Besides all former employees of the Old ECW need money. Paul screwed them anyways. They have bills pilled up.

I understand where Tazz is coming from. It’s not about the money, it’s not about business, it’s about the sentiment of the thing. ECW was hardcore, and built from the ground up. Yeah they got crushed in the end but they provided a lot of talent to both WCW and WWE and everybody who worked in the original company have every right to feel an attachment to it.

I agree GreatRedBeard totally.Tazz is right and now that ECW is buried like WCW lets keep it buried and as far as NXT thats what every brand needs to be doing.A show where future wrestling talents are being showcased with that in mind Vince McMahon is a genuis in my books I mean buying and burying all who interferes with the growth of WWE.
