The Rock Buys His Mom A Cadillac For Christmas, Ted DiBiase Injured Again

the-rock

injured one of the fingers on his left hand Thursday night’s WWE SmackDown live event from Chicago, according to f4wonline.com. This is the reason SmackDown agent Jamie Noble was brought in to wrestle Fandango in DiBiase’s place.

bought his mother a new Cadillac truck for Christmas. Aside from being such a generous gift, noted on Twitter why the truck has a deeper significance for them:

“At 14 I saw my mom crying about our only car being repossessed. This felt good. #MerryXmasMom”

  • Vince The Man

How the hell would their car get repo’d if his grandad and dad were sucessful wrestlers

    • http://twitter.com/AJCampbellNYG Andrew Campbell

Wrestling didn’t pay as well back then as it does nowadays, especially if you were an African-American lower/mid-carder wrestling for smaller promotions around the country.

    • Two Cents

There’s a difference between being a success and having a successful career. Best example is Ric Flair, he’s regarded as the best or one of the best in professional wrestling history, but he has fallen on hard times money wise from spending more than investing more than once.. Then, there’s all those divorces that cleaned him out as well.

    • Squad44

You’re an idiot! Rock dad was not rich you dumbass.

    • TreyDay

Rock grandfather died and life became very hard for their family. Rock made sure his family wouldn’t ever have to go through that ever again.

  • http://twitter.com/AJCampbellNYG Andrew Campbell

Rock and his mother have been through it all together. It’s amazing how far they’ve come. It’s a true rags to riches story.

  • pwnez

The Rock has a big heart, especially when it comes to family.

  • king of the octagon

the rock is better then the current WWE superstars
better then most of the WWF superstars
And better then every single TNA superstar

    • pwnez

      Lol

      • The Rock

What in the blue hell are you laughing at you little jabroni? Does The Rock amuse you? Did that tickle your little vagina? Did it make you get a funny feeling inside? Well The Rock says this, you take that L, you take that O, and you take that other L, flip it around, turn it sideways, and stick it straight up your roody poo candyass!!! If you smell what The Rock is cooking! ~_-

        • d1l2g3

          Lol

        • junaid

epic :D pwnez got owned :D

          • pwnez

I wasn’t aware people still thought the word epic was cool. You suck.

          • junaid

You got owned bi*ch. now stfu. you are no wrestling guru around here. just another trol

          • pwnez

You can’t get owned by someone over the internet especially when you use Rocks catchphrases as insults. You only think i’m a troll because I bashed the Rock. Keep your mouth shut, clown.

        • pwnez

Rocky, get Bret Hart to teach you how to lock in the sharpshooter correctly.

          • http://twitter.com/AJCampbellNYG Andrew Campbell

Watch Austin vs Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13. Austin executes the sharpshooter exactly the same as The Rock does, yet Rock is the only one you ever criticize for it.

Also, Bret even recalled once having to talk Shawn Michael’s through how to execute a sharpshooter halfway through one of their matches together (he didn’t know how to apply one), yet Shawn is considered “one of the greatest in-ring performers of all-time”. But again I don’t hear you criticizing Shawn for it.

The Rock isn’t the only one to apply the move like that, so it’s silly how he’s always the only one to ever get hate for it. Just thought I’d point that out.

          • pwnez

Austin actually has applied the sharpshooter correctly. He doesn’t use the move frequently like the Rock does either. I’ve bashed HBK before so i’m not sure what you’re talking about. It’s silly how some fans act like the Rock is a god. You’re one of the biggest fans of the Rock, I get it but seriously, he isn’t perfect. Fans love pretending that he is though. Rock is one of the most overrated “wrestlers” of all time.

          • http://twitter.com/AJCampbellNYG Andrew Campbell

It puzzles me how you can call The Rock overrated. Unlike Cena, Triple H, Austin and many others over the years, The Rock never got the big wins, lengthy title reigns, or even a blu-ray titled “the most popular superstar of all-time”. So I struggle to see how Rock is overrated?

In your comments, you act like Austin was some great in-ring technician or something when he wasn’t, but that didn’t make him any less entertaining to watch.

Rock wasn’t an in-ring technician like a Daniel Bryan, but he was a great performer, in-ring and out. He was a great performer in that his matches had a fluidity to them and, his athleticism aside, the crowds were just emotionally invested in his matches. His many memorable classics speak for themselves. You don’t need to do suplex after suplex after suplex in order to be considered a good wrestler.

          • pwnez

The Rocks fans do overrate him. Rock is a great entertainer but when fans praise him as if he’s some type of god it’s just ridiculous. God forbid someone dislikes the Rock, they will be labeled a “hater” because of it. As I said before, it’s his fans who are overrating him.

Austin was a solid wrestler, good at brawling and good on the mic, what’s the issue? He isn’t the greatest ever, nor do I claim he is. It seems that because fans think Rock is a great entertainer that means he was a great wrestler which couldn’t be farther from the truth. I don’t like the Rock as a wrestler, so sue me. I get it, you’re a Rocky mark which is fine but fans like you need to stop hating on everyone who isn’t a Rock fanatic. I call it like I see it.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

And, to be fair, a lot of people underrate his talent. I’m not being biased either. Dwayne is one of the most critiqued wrestlers I can think of and it’s mainly because he left WWE to pursue something else. He’s either very underrated or very overrated and it varies from person to person. Why don’t we call him what he is: One of the best talents to ever grace wrestling, period. It doesn’t have to be “he’s the greatest promo” or the “greatest technical wrestler”. It’s simply “he, along with Austin, took the wrestling business to another level with the combination of his promo ability and the fact that he never had a problem putting guys over, something that was extremely rare at the time”. That’s how I sum it up anyway.

          • pwnez

That works for me. I don’t even hate/dislike the Rock, it just seems like if anyone says one negative thing about him his fans get all defensive. I don’t get it.

          • TheKillingMoon

You can’t expect much from punch drunk sheep. If the people’s ass were to take a dump in their front lawn, they’ll be quick to rush and grab it and consume it thinking it’s chocolate and say that it’s the best thing ever.

          • Essqier

You’re the last person on this site to have a say in this discussion. You seem to hate the man personally, for whatever warped and twisted reason.

          • antdogg165

It seems like you’re butthurt guy.

Who’s hating on who? because it seems you’re the one who has it out for his supporters.

He’s never even claimed to be as you like to say ‘best wrestler’. As a kid, I always looked at him as one of the best performers and workers. I do not think he’s overrated, and he is one of the greats imo. A very gifted multi talented athlete.

          • pwnez

I have it out with the ones who attack those who aren’t fans of the Rock. For some reason it’s a crime to dislike him even if it’s a little bit. He is talented; a good actor, great entertainer and seems like a good guy in real life. All i’m saying is that he isn’t a good wrestler and people throw hissy fits.

          • http://twitter.com/RandyDorkton_ Randy Dorkton

You have a different opinion. I think Austin is overrated.

          • SolomonGrundy

How is he overrated when he’s earned every bit of popularity he has?
His wrestling skills were toned down by the mid 90s by various injuries, more so in 1997 when his neck got screwed up, that’s around the time when most people started seeing him more, he’s actually a better wrestler than you see him, as someone on this site noted a few weeks ago he is a rather underrated “Wrestler” if you understand what I mean. You should watch his early 90s matches from WCW & they’re some impressive technical wrestling out there but they never got enough exposure. Austin has got the Charisma (Promos, best talker etc) AND Wrestling skill, I wouldn’t label him as overrated whatsoever. Rock is decent wrestler with lesser experience but has got one of the highest levels of charisma up there with Austin.
            Austin: wrestling experience & charisma
            Rock: decent wrestling & charisma
            You judge who’s more overrated.

          • antdogg165

People mainly started hating The Rock after he branched out and reach new success. It’s funny because while he was the genuine guy who believed in doing what ever it took to keep the buisness going whether it meant getting burried week after week as popular as he was, he in fact became the most popular superstar, not Austin. That is a fact! Love him or hate him. I respect him more than most.

          • SolomonGrundy

“not Austin. That is a fact!”

When the owner of the company calls Austin the most popular, I am confused about where you get that “fact” but I’m not hanging on what Vince said because it probably doesn’t matter.

What does matter though is “facts”! Here are some facts you probably didn’t know about:

            – Austin started his career in the Federation as a lower card wrestler even some would say a curtain-jerker for the most of his run there, until late 1996.
-Rock debuted in survivor series 96 with little experience yet he was heavily pushed and even went on to win the survivor match, few months later he won the IC tittle, why? Mostly due to him being 3rd generation superstar no more.
-Austin was wrestling for almost a full 7 years when Rock came but he still had to climb the ladder like everyone else unlike the Rock who debuted with a push.

          • Apexpred20

See heres where you’re wrong. He never claim to be the best wrestler of all time. Rock knows he’s not. He always announced himself as the most electrifying man in sports and entertainment. Theres a difference, and it’s so many styles in wrestling. I personally love the entertainers of the buisness and the high flyers. You probably have it it your mind that everyone who doesn’t do matt wrestling is overrated.

          • pwnez

Honestly, I dislike the Rocks fans more than I dislike the Rock himself. His fans are the ones who overrate him and make him out to be 100 times better than he is. I like the Rock, I just don’t think he’s a good wrestler and it seems that his die hard fans take that personally.

No, you can be a good wrestler/performer regardless of if you can mat or catch wrestle. Some wrestlers can brawl and wrestle which is entertaining and then their are those who don’t do much at all. Examples would be Khali, Big Show, Big Zeke, Otunga, Alex Riley etc.

          • SolomonGrundy

You should have watched that match in full, compare it to any of the matches Rock has had and then come back & say how he [Austin] badly executed a move that’s not one of his main skill-set.

          • Apexpred20

I’m sure if he wanted to copy Bret’s sharpshooter, he would’ve. Everything he does, he does it in his own way. I did not like Rock sharpshooter at times but i saw Austin do one worst at mania 17. No one said Rock is perfect but he is loved.

  • Aiii

As nice as this gift is. The Rock is worth millions, this is like a normal person buying their godchild a 3DS. He’s a great guy for doing this, but I doubt there are very many people here or anywhere that wouldn’t do the same if they had as much money as the guy does. :)

    • Squad44

Maybe thats the car his mom wanted. Not everyone has a greed for the highest prices.

      • Hitmaniac

I don’t think that was the point. I think the OP’s point (with which I agree) was that the amount of money this car cost in comparison with the money The Rock has isn’t particularly large, nor would the value of most cars be given how much he is worth. A car to a man worth that much money is like buying a TV or going out for a nice meal to you or I, so whilst he obviously is generous and there is a personal reason for him why he wanted to buy his mom a car, it’s not like he had to scrimp and save himself to be able to buy it for her.

        • Bushwald Sexyface

And if you think the dude hasnt given him mother tons of that money, you’re insane. I gaurantee you she is very well off.

Some of you people will look for anything to criticisize.

          • Aiii

Calling his gift nice and calling him a “great guy” isn’t critisism at all. I was commenting on the report. He bought his mom a gift, an expensive one yes, but nothing special for someone who could buy about 40 of these and still not notice it in his bankaccount. In other words, I was criticising this being “news” and sescoops facebook message that this made The Rock “the greatest son ever.”

          • Bushwald Sexyface

Whats bad about your comment is that I wasnt even talking to you.
