The Rock vs. John Cena Set For WrestleMania 29

On Monday’s WWE RAW from Dallas, Texas, John Cena defeated CM Punk in the main event to earn a shot at The Rock’s WWE Championship at WrestleMania 29.

Immediately after Cena’s win, The Rock tweeted:

“Congrats John.. Its official: Wrestlemania 29 @WWE Heavyweight Champion The Rock vs @JohnCena Greatness vs Redemption #BringIt”

With that match set, here’s the updated card for WrestleMania 29:

WWE Championship

    Every time Cena and Punk wrestle each other they always put on an amazing performance. Their match tonight was amazing. Punk penis holders are gonna say he carried Cena the entire match, but real wrestling fans know it takes two to tango. Both wrestlers did a great job tonight. It was cool seeing Cena do a Frankensteiner, even though it was sloppy as shit. Punk’s piledriver was also cool. Shit, I don’t even remember the last time I saw a Piledriver on WWE tv.

      I find Cena tends to work to the person’s level he’s with. Him and Punk work great together, but check the difference between this match and either of the Punk vs. Rock matches and Cena vs. Rock from WM. Rock has to work at a much slower pace than either Cena or Punk, so it’s not even a case of “Punk makes people look good”. It’s a shame VKM is apparently fed up with Punk wrestling Cena, cos they’ve had some really great matches together.

    Typical, no one gives Cena his props as usual because they’re blinded by hate. Punk and Cena put on a good match. There was no punk carrying cena at all. Cena can put on a good match when he’s put against a good wrestler

      Everybody says that no one gives props to Cena , but thats BS.A lot of people give him props and me as well.But if we wanna be honest a match built like that, given that much time and executed by two main eventers can be no less than epic.Though if you look back there were a lot of weak spots but every real fan knows there can’t be no perfect match.Now, Cena did a good job but seriously Cm Punk did better.The whole Frankensteiner spot made me laugh a bit lol but still the match was epic.Loved the powerbomb and the piledriver ofc.They do need a brake though from rivarly matches though otherwise it’ll be boring to watch in every ppv…

    Just incase any dumbasses want to say twice in a lifetime because they are so stupid to think that a million dollar match wouldn’t be booked multiple times, understand that once in a lifetime meant that you only experience things for the first time once. Me personally I think its the right call and while I want a triple, I prefer to see Punk shine in his own program and not have to dominate a program with those two because lets face it, Punk would own Rock and Cena with just a raise of his mic.

          wrong, I download all my ppv’s and Cena’s matches are on a permanent skip-ahead :) . the one good thing about it is that his matches are predictable as fuck, so I’m not missing anything new by skipping forward.

    I can’t understand for the life of me with all the hate on Cena. and fans bitching about Cena/Punk matches = too many.. those two put on a better match than 3/4 of the roster.. ALWAYS! What a battle that was.. and also, for people always bitching about Cena not being a good wrestler, he is a damn good wrestler for a very bulky guy, and always continues to surprise us fans in hyped up matches like that. Those two both used moves we have not seen in a very long time! LOVED IT! Tonight’s RAW was by far the best in a while, and I personally love em all.

    damn good match see here i know there are people out there saying cena sucks but this match alone bassically shut me up for a while. cena can still put on a really damn good match. man i want to see matches like that from wwe that was amazing. i dont care if i know who will win, but if they put on matches like that ill deffinently watch more. the first night in like forever that i actually tuned into a raw and man the ending was good even if cena won because on ereason it was agood match. If wwe pulls out more matches like that i will deffinently watch more.

    I hate tag lines! It’s not that I don’t want to see Cena get redemption against The Rock at WM 29, but after we seen this match last year & it was tagged “Once in a Lifetime”, it made me root for a triple threat match including CM Punk. Don’t get me wrong, the Cena vs. Punk match on Raw was amazing! John Cena went out & performed perhaps his best match to date. So now this puts even more pressure on the Rock vs. Cena at WM 29 to deliver! The Rock & John Cena will have to not only perform better than their first match, they will have to raise the bar to a higher level than any match involving CM Punk or having Punk not in the main event will turn out to be a big mistake!

    I don’t have a problem with it this year..but..

    next year: CM Punk v John Cena, Lesnar v Taker, and..wait for it…Rock v Austin in both of their official retirement match.

    I thorougly enjoyed Punk and Cena’s match at Raw. It was PPV quality and the match of the year on Raw thus far. Those 2 work great together in the ring. If Rock were 7 years younger, thats the kind of match I would expect from him and Punk too but he isn’t.
