In an interview with Time Magazine, Hulk Hogan says that he chose to partner with TNA Wrestling instead of returning to World Wrestling Entertainment mostly because he wants to help the younger generation of wrestlers.
“When I woke up and realized I should be my own man and be responsible for being happy, I realized I still have a lot to contribute to the wrestling business,” Hogan said. “And jumping into TNA and being a part of that company is huge. I have a chance to give back and help these young wrestlers who don’t understand the business and the art form.”
Hogan explains how the business has changed dramatically since the 1980s. “The business moves so much faster now,” he responded. “It used to be if Andre the Giant and I had a feud, it’d probably play out six or seven months later at a big event. Nowadays, if Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan have a feud at 9 o’clock, it’s usually over by 9:30. It’s a story-telling art form to create emotion and drama and I just think a lot of that is lost.”
Here’s a classic Hogan quote .. The interviewer asked him about steroids, and how commonplace they were in the industry when he was coming up. Hogan said, “I just drank an iced tea here with lunch. If next year they say iced tea is worse than steroids, I’ll probably quit drinking that too. But at the time it was legal, just like drinking an iced tea is legal.”

I really like that this site is cleaning up on the typos and the overall organization of everything, but one thing I don’t like as much are the comments added to the stories. I come here for the facts.. not opinions. Still love this place though.
I guess Vinny Mac is going to be really pissed off…Now WWE has a huge chance of beating TNA as Hogan is their new boss and story writer
I think WWE was already beating TNA.
Also, agree with miserabliss. I love this site too, but the goofy comments are bette suited for a seperate column.
To the author: Analogy comparison.
Hmmm….not all the characters show. The context was that an analogy is NOT a comparison.
If ppl dont like the comments part.Don’t srcoll down and read them or leave them simple as that. Don’t leave a comment on how you don’t like the comments ect.. just a thought
rockinyourmom, I think they’re referring to the COMMENTary that concluded the article, with a ’shot’ directed at Hogan. That it was both snarky and ignorant (as I pointed out, an analogy is not the equivalent of a comparison) probably prompted them to pipe up about commentary being included within articles.
The author could just as easily add a comment (like we do) .
Thanks for the suggestion, but I was just giving the site constructive feedback while complimenting them at the same time. It is my understanding that viewer feedback is one of the only ways a website can find out what they can improve upon.
If some people just THINK wwe is beating tna you must not be watching the ppvs. Because wwe is destroying them in ppv sales. Simple as that.
Hogan really shouldn’t piss Vince off, in my opinion Vince is crazy enough to put TNA out of business just to spite someone.
LAWL,really Edgefan89?PPV sales? What about ratings? What about merchandise sales? -_- Everyone knows WWE is still on top.
Honest I can see why Vince would be mad, mainly because they invested money in Hogans new DVD set coming out soon, and I pretty sure Hogan and specially Bishoff timed it this way to get under the skin of Vince knowing it was to late to stop production of the DVD. I saw the press conference and I think Hogan made it worst when he said they are going to try to make TNA the number 1 sports entertanment in the world.
Now with that statement alone as a anyone in WWE should take offense to it, and is more like a challenge to WWE take them on competition wise for ratings. Now with that being said I don’t think Vince is too worried about TNA. First off basically its still WCW with a mix of ECW running the same story lines they did in WCW. For example their storyline about managment trying to push out the older guys with the younger talent. Ummmmm they did that in WCW with the “New Blood”. The Main Event Mafia is basically the NWO, except WWE owns the rights to that name I believe except they just called it the Main Event Mafia.
Its bad enough they use old WCW storylines they even steal some of WWE storylines for example the whole AJ styles vs Sting and being stings last match or whatever if he loses is a plan rip off of Flair Vs HBK. Two poeple fighting both friends and one person leaving if he loses. So in that aspect they are very stale with their storylines and I dont think Hogan willl help much cause his EGO all the storylines will be centered around him.
And Finally if Vice really wanted to crush TNA he could do it right now in one week pretty much shut them down and start heading them out of business all he has to do is remove the PG rating from ECW bring back the old style ECW move it to Thursday NIghts, and I bet soon as ECW originals contracts run out that are in TNA will jump ship to come back home to ECW.. And that would be as we say game over for TNA. So I really dont think its wise for Hogan to come straight out like he did and make that statment about becoming the #1 orgization in the world. Cause as we all know Vince is still the boss and you dont cross the boss.
I think Vince would now be more skeptical in making some wrestlers superstars. It sucks when your most promoted and invested superstar later becomes a resource to your competitor.
I’m not blaming Hogan. This is more fulfilling that his stupid reality show, which left his family in shambles. I’m simply not a fan of TNA.
