Hulk Hogan’job role in TNA could be more than just appearing on television and the occasional match. Radio personality Bubba The Love Sponge has posted some comments on Twitter.com that stating that Hulk Hogan will have more power than virtually anybody in TNA.

Mr. Sponge wrote, “[Hogan] is the boss. Period. Him and Eric biscoff will run the show. Things are going to get interesting. Vince is going to have a shit fit.”

He later added, “The boss boss. No work. He wouldn’t go back to only be the work boss. He is the boss boss. Promise”

When asked by one of his Twitter follows what he meant by Hogan being the “boss”, he clarified by saying, “He is the Booker. Period. Saw it in his contract. Terry and Eric won’t make the same mistakes that they made at wcw.”

wwe is doomed. Hogan and bischoff on the warpath and with talent

  2. russorulesperiod says:

Where does this leave Vince Russo? Writer for all non-Hogan related matters?
They’d be stupid not to do some kind of “resolve” to the Bash At The Beach situation since this is the first time Jarrett, Russo & Hogan have been under the same roof. Time for the “Why, Jeff, why?” questions again. Remmber 2003, folks?

  3. tigerswallow says:

Awesome. Get Russo out. The story lines are pure sh*t right now.

  4. K-Fist says:

Huh, well– I don’t like that Hogan and Bishoff are the be all end all say in TNA, mainly as a fan concerned by the ego powertrip those two may repeat like in WCW. Though I would much rather see Bishoff writting the storylines (with Hulk if that’s the case) than Russo anyday.

  5. Ryan says:

Now it all makes sense they bribed them with full creative control. Thats why he came to TNA. Bischoff and Hogan wanted to make their own wrestling company, now they have it, but didnt have to do all the dirty work. They have the talent, exposure and a bit of credibility already in their company and they didnt lift a finger yet to do so. These 2 are no dummies

  6. mrjoewalker says:

I’m not entirely sure about Hogan heading booking, but he’s experienced in this business. If he truly wanted to use current TNA talent to elevate the company he could. And I think we all know what Eric Bischoff is capable of. Remember the first “New Breed” episode of Monday Nitro? It was incredible! He and Russo showed signs of great teamwork, but Eric doesn’t NEED Russo to once again create incredibly entertaining and compelling professional wrestling television. TNA story lines and angles have been pretty much booty. It can (hopefully) only get better from here.

  7. jumpmanjg says:

Well its to me that every one is saying that they won’t make the same WCW mistake again. As if WWE will make the same mistakes again. WWE is Number one, with that said I love competition and I think this will help Wrestling in an over all stand point. I just don’t think Hulk has ever been able to promote anyone other then him self.

  8. Ryan777 says:

This could actually be very good for the industry as a whole. Short term, it will probably bring the ratings down for each show as they compete for the same market, but the total veiwership for wrestling as a whole should remain the same.

Long term however, each show will be under tremendous pressure to preform good in the ratings for money-advertizment reasons, which will lead to a much improved product for each show; every monday night, not just when King Vince feels like he a needs a short term ratings boost,

This will be long term, and sustained long term quality products, from each show, will eventually lead to a trend upwards in total viewership. It doesnt matter which show sees the bigger uptick, they will both be fighting for the same market.

When this happens, the “Casual fan” who is currenty unreliable week in and week out in the ratings, will become more of a reliable part of the market. A natural consequence of that happening will be the creation of an expanded market that is not only steady, but constantly growing, (hence the explosion of the market 96-00).

Conclusion: Get ready for war because things are about to get ugly real quick, but its going to be great for us fans!!!

  9. SJP315 says:

His refusal to help elevate talent and give others a main event spot is was caused the whole Bash at the Beach shoot that Russo went off on in the first place, until I see it I will never believe Hogan is putting anyone over but himself and his friends. People bitch and moan about HHH and his power ruining Raw well where do you think he learned it from? He learned it from Hogan and the old HBK so if you think Hogan w booking power is a good thing I hope you’re ready to see Ed Leslie, Nasty Boy Knobs, Denis Rodman and such in TNA taking match time away from the real stars of the company oh and hope you’re prepared for another round of Hogan/Flair matches as well.

  10. Inamedmydoghogan says:

I hope they make it something the attitude area…

  11. partci says:

This gets scary… for TNA. I’m pretty sure Vince is laughing out loud his arse right now.

  12. PLG says:

I just want Jarrett to come back while Hogan makes his debut, in the impact zone, and smash a guitar over his head and say “I told you 6 years ago not to come to TNA”. I would mark so hard for that. I just think they should do Heel Jarrett vs Hogan feud and if they are truly done with Jarrett on air this would be a great way to write him out. Loser leaves TNA Jarrett v. Hogan.

  13. kj1978us says:

It will be the same old stuff, with the same over the hill wrestlers, exactly what most of you complain about the WWE. Maybe they will let Joe out of his contract so he could go to WWE, then I would actually watch him again.

  14. Dlowhizite says:

Look this is a very scary proposition. Hogan and Bischoff in charge is not smart AT ALL.

I hope I’m wrong, but short term this is a good boom.. long term, this is a company killer.

  15. rshieldsy09 says:

THIS COULD BE A GOOD MOVE FOR TNA ONCE THEY HAVE HOGAN OTHER BIG NAMES WOULD BE LOOKING TO GO, SOME OF THE WRESTLERS REPORTED TO FOLLOW ARE: RVD, KEN KENEDDY , UMAGA,RIC FLAIR ,GOLDBURG,ETC AND ONCE THEY ARE THERE IT WILL BE JUST BE LIKE WCW BUT THEY WILL NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE, IF I WERE WWE I WOULD BE SCARED.

  16. princeofpain says:

hogan the boss boss please he and bishoff running tna will be terrible they killed wcw,now they want to kill tna.so lets say good bye borasch, hello mean gene, good bye taz hello bobby the brain, good bye suidal gimmick ,hello glacier.this will be the biggest mistake ever to hire bishoff and hogan.

  17. JohnyH says:

    Caps lock…

  18. Bardakas says:

Vince Russo destroyed WCW, not Hogan or Bishoff… I think with they’re experiences the show might go as far as WWE in future, but we’ll see.

  19. Silverleaf says:

Of course Hogan would have complete creative control over his character and others as it relates to his. He’s to big of an ego-maniac to just work with and help a company. He has to be the company.

Princeofpain: Borash was on the booking commity in WCW with Hogan. Bobby Heenan can’t talk and Taz is to be replaced with Mark Madden and Steve “Mongo” McMichael. Get it right.

  20. rshieldsy09 says:

tna tna tna tna. this could be the start of something big the monday wars all over again now kennedy, umaga, rvd ,flair etc will follow

  21. princeofpain says:

VINCE RUSSO DID NOT KILL WCW,YEAH DAVID ARQUEETE WAS CHAMPION OKAY,LETS TAKE A WALK DOWN WCW MEMBORY LANE,HOGAN AND BISHOFF HAD TOTAL CONTROL THERE BISHOFF HAD SO MUCH TALENT THERE HE COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH THEM,HE FIRED AUSTIN COULDNT SEE HIS POTENIAL,HE HAD FOLEY,BENOIT,JERICHO,MYSTERIO,EDDIE AND SO ON…HE ONLY CREATED ONE STAR GOLDBERG THATS IT,HE SIGN HART DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH HIM ,HOGAN DID NOT WANT TO WRESTLE HIM.BISHOFF HAD ONE GOOD ANGLE NWO WITH TWO FORMER WWE GUYS HALL AND NASH.HIS GIMMICKS WERE LAME LIKE THE MASTER P DISTATER,GLACIER,KISS WITH ERIK WATTS WOW WASNT THAT GREAT TV TO WATCH?THESE TWO ARE GOING TO TURN TNA AROUND WISHFUL THINKING I DONT SEE IT.

  22. kj1978us says:

If everyone can check their egos at the door then this could be good for the business overall. The problem is none of these people in TNA have any kind of track record without Vince to oversee their planning, except for Bischoff, and he needed millions upon millions of wasted dollars to even put up a fight. If they could all get along, then they could start something special, but history says it will go good for a little while, then blow up, and Vince will own it all.
