TNA Reportedly Wants To Sign Alberto Del Rio And Make Him World Champion

TNA executives reportedly tried to contact Alberto Del Rio immediately after reports surfaced that he was released from WWE. The word within the company is that if he does sign with TNA, he will immediately become their new World Champion.

Del Rio likely has a 90-day no compete clause in his WWE contract, ruling out the possibility of a move to TNA in the near future.

I’d rather sign my office to the roster as an active wrestler? Than sign Alberto Del Burito

      • brad

It sure sounds different from the reports Mrs. carter. I think it’s pretty obvious that he’s more valuable then 98 percent of your roster without a doubt. Heck the only guys that you have that is more valuable is maybe Angle and Hardy but that’s about it.

        • Dixie Carter

If he was “more valuable” then why did WWE fire Del Burito? I would rather hire Spike Dudley than that washed up boring hack!

          • brad

Like I said it doesn’t seem that way Dixie, but it doesn’t matter anyway girl because it looks like AAA has got him so you S.O.L.

            • Dixie Carter

Can you send me your facts please that said we wanted Alberto? Like an official TNA email or how you found out that I personally want him on my roster.

            • brad

Well the article said that TNA had already been trying to call him up and get him on board to be the next TNA world champion.

      • Shades

Yeah right Dix, I bet you wish there was a sale, buy an ADR and get a Ricardo FOR FREE!! TNA is sinking and Del Rio just might help get things going
again. You would gain some Latino viewers (besides Tigre Uno’s parents of course)! PS You should eat a burrito, you might actually like it!

        • Dixie Carter

Darlin’ my broken nail from going through the table by Bully Ray would generate more ratings than Del Burito could ever hope to muster!

Man, being a TNA “original” or even a young member of the roster must absolutely suck. Knowing that no matter how hard you work to get over with the fans or how many great matches you have; it won’t make a difference. They’ll just give the title to the first ex-WWE guy dumb enough to join up with them.

It’s just…wow. I’m not one of those guys rooting for TNA’s cancellation; but it’s stuff like this that makes me think they absolutely deserve to die as a promotion.

      • QuiteFrankly2k

Kind of the same thing in WWE, crazy knowing how much talent there is in NXT but they will be moved up with so much steam but all of it will be released after a month or two.

      • Gotstodobetter

Sounds like the WWE to me too lol.

      • allan

Wcw did the same thing multi times lol

      • allan

Arnt there only like 3 left. Hell storms the only one there since day 1

    • insomniacreviewer

Good i hope ADR has success in Tna if he decides to join.

    • Fantasma Del Guapo

“Likely”? So it’s not official? Maybe that’s why he’s good for AAA.

    • LaParkaXV

I don’t believe this TNA is going for more of a ECW type roster these days. Not new ECW guys but actually the original ECW guys lol. Mike Whipwreck NewJack Bill Alfonso and Tracy Smothers will be cheaper than ADR. Just think of the ECW chants OH BOY!

      • Leather Face

Bill Alfonsos whistle will be cheaper than Del Rio, and more entertaining as well.

        • allan

On the mic I agree but in the ring delrio was dope he’s a great athlete and a pan am gold Metalist

    • elguapo79

Ehhh….. I want TNA success, but after the no-compete clause is up, will there BE a TNA?

    • raVen

and that is why tna gets the hate it gets. This is one of those times when you think it wouldn’t be so bad if they went under.

      • allan

Some of us dont like that pg crap wwe puts out I mean seriously have u seen wwe lately lol raw is the only watchable show

        • raVen

wwe was never mentioned at all in this story or this comment that you replied to. gtfo

    • brad

The guy deserves a world champion wherever he’s at so I personally wouldn’t mind him going to TNA, I might even start watching it again.

    • Scott Dorian Dancer

at least del rio is not a left over guy. he got fired from a backstage incident. hes been a regular on tv for some time now. so if tna were to get him it would be a good move. hes a talented wrestler and should be used to his max potential until he can no longer go.

    • Matt Gallagher

      With what money?

      • Gotstodobetter

        Money that you don’t have.

        • Matt Gallagher

Money that a corporation like panda energy does have and not a 16 year old kid jackass

    • Jamie

Oh look a fake dirt sheet article appears, yawn.

    • Ayatollah of rock N rolla

Actually like this move for TNA.

    • Triple X

By the time the 90 days are up, they’ll be kicked off the air lmaoooo

    • allan

OK I think the real question is how will TNA afford him. He was already rich before wwe and made millions in wwe so how can TNA offered him. They couldn’t keep ajj. Unless Del Rio does it to spite wwe it won’t happen. I still wish tna didn’t waste all that money on hogan he never cared about tna

    • Hershey Maxwell Barber

So essentially do what they did with every other wrestler that came from the WWE?

    • Hellaluyeah

Lashley should stay champion for 10 years to come!!! Have everyone try and take the title and let them bounce off him one by one.
