Top WWE Creative Team Member Removed, Waltman Gets WWE Legends Deal

– Sean Waltman announced on Twitter this morning that he’s been signed to a WWE Legends contract:

– Eric Pankowski is no longer the Senior Vice President of Creative at WWE, according to a tweet by former WWE creative team member Court Bauer. Pankowski was hired by WWE last February 2012 and was a former executive at Warner Bros.

Pankowski worked with Stephanie McMahon managing WWE’s creative writing teams as well as developing WWE programming for kids, which led to the creation of Saturday Morning Slam.

As reported earlier today, WWE is hiring a new VP of Creative Writing.

  • Seth Bob

    He doesn’t deserve it.

  • cenasucks

I wonder how much part HHH played in this…

    • Stratojacker

Two people were managing creative writing team in a period where the show was inconsistent and generally pretty dull, with a lot of wasted opportunities. One of the people had to be held responsible. One of the people was Triple H’s wife and Vince McMahon’s daughter.
Has anyone fallen over in shock at this firing?

      • cenasucks

I was talking about the Waltman Contract…

  • backblack25

they need to fire all the creative members

  • IKeepsit100

I love xpac! 123 kid all day! Never did i turn my back on one of my top 5 favorite wrestlers of all time. HHH,xpac, jeff hardy,Matt hardy,Essa Rios(even though he’s not active anymore). Weird list but i have my reasons.

    • | |

Good list, HHH and XPac definitely went hand-n-hand at one point. The Hardys were my favorites growing up and Essa Rios was excellent!!

      • IKeepsit100

Essa Rios was a boss in the ring, he pulled off alot of moves you see wrestlers do today. His in ring work was almost perfect.

2disliked on original comment…let the hating begin

Definitely, I like those High-Flying Risk-takers. A lot of people favorite the main-event scene but I’ve always enjoyed the cruiserweight/mid card guys that do the innovative and wild moves, the most.

    • Psychonigma

Do any of your reasons have to do with wrestlers having long hair?

  • Jeremy-County Roberts

Paul Heyman needs to be in charge of writing. The guy is smart as hell and has an eye for good TV.

    • Steve

If you’ve watched the CM Punk “Best in the world” DVD, I believe that….I never realized he was as influential as he is….seems like a good eye for things, no doubt

    • Seth Bob

That’s why ECW is still around. Oh wait…

      • Jeremy-County Roberts

ROFL. Ah god idiots like these. ECW was a small little company. WWF was like the walmart of wrestling companies. They move into town and kill off anything that could steal money from them. ECW was that small little party store. Good store. Good talent. But when WWF aka Walmart moves into town they can offer more and easily kill off that party store.

        • Seth Bob

Excuses, excuses. The fact is everyone claims he’s this genius savior of wrestling when in reality his only real shot failed and he hasn’t done shit behind the scenes since then. ECW trash marks.

          • Ayatollah of rock N rolla

No one everrrr said he was a great business man. but for you to sit here and imply he’s as bad as the current writers is just blasphemy

          • Psychonigma

ECW helped build careers, and enjoyed as much success as it could possibly get until it was shut down. Sure it didn’t last as much as other companies, but it wasn’t exactly built for longevity either. I wouldn’t call it a failure when it ultimately did what it set out to do.

          • Seth Bob

It set out to launch careers but ultimately fail? LOL.

      • G.I.R.L.

ECW’s demise had nothing, or very little, to do with writing; you’re thinking WCW, which Heyman’s fingers were not involved in.

  • raVen

waltman is sooooo lucky to have the friends he has cause that dead beet pos would have been face down in a ditch long ago without them.

also, fire/hire whoever you want. creative will not change until princess is gone.
ratings started to decline when steph was put in charge. soap oprah writers came in when steph hired them.

  • guest

    X Pac a legend? That’s a funny joke

  • Ex-trolluminati

123 kid coming back??????? WOW i hope he comes and teach cena some wrestling skills

    • Bushwald Sexyface

The only skill he could teach Cena is how to rail.

  • G.I.R.L.

I guess literally shitting on a top draw’s personal things always merits “legend” status.

  • Bushwald Sexyface

The creative move could be really good or really bad. I hope it’s good. There def needs to be a change made.

  • joe

Whenever one of these guys get the boot I always think, “I hope he’s the one who wrote all the bullshit.”

    • Progress_Now

you’re not the only one, babe

  • Steve Williams

Get ready every one. WWE is about to get more shittier. Like WM card isn’t crappy enough

    • Bushwald Sexyface

So it’s getting shittier because they got rid of this guy? Maybe he wasn’t the one contributing to making it so shitty? Or, perhaps, it’s Vince McMahon making it terrible.

  • cm punk is god v1.0
