Update On WWE’s Recent Diva Search & Month-Long Divas Training Camp

We’ve got an update on the private Diva search that took place last month. WWE reached out to modeling agencies in Los Angeles and other cities last month and select a group of women to enter a four-week training program. They were trained by NXT’s Sarah Del Rey, Bill DeMott and others.

Here’s a look at some of the women who where part of the training camp:

  • Olivia Karpinski – Model, fitness coach
  • Natalie Eva Marie – Actress, model
  • Aimee Fogelman – Model
  • Joseann Offerman – Model, Singer
  • Maysa Quy – “Bombshell Fitness” Athlete
  • Jenn Sterger – Model, actress, TV host
  • CJ Perry – Red Bull spokesmodel
  • Courtney Camero – Reality TV show contenstant

It’s worth noting that not all of the ladies made it through, and only a few (if any) will go on to receive developmental contracts. Former WWE Diva Eve was at NXT earlier this week meeting with the ladies and tweeted:

Brad Davis

Brad Davis is the editor of and He's been hooked on pro wrestling since 1989 and has attended 8 WrestleManias

  • wwetnadudez

Ok some people seem okay but only 2 (or three if you count Camero) people have anything to do with athletics and the rest are models..#LongLiveTheRevival

  • G.I.R.L.

When will they learn that they can never recreate Sable? Why are they looking for these new chicks when they can’t work with the ones they already have?

    • Jeremy Gordon

      Sable sucked ass.

      • G.I.R.L.

        But was marketable as fuck.

      • GodsLoyalSon

Sable was and is still fine as hell

        • Captain Obvious

if Brock Lesnar hears you say that, here comes the pain.

  • Spike_Spiegel

If they only pick one out this whole group thats fine and it dosent hurt that they’re being trained by sarah del rey but really this is disappointing to hear wwe is still fishing for models rather than actual wrestlers.

    • Mafia Is Forever

      That’s dumb, right?

    • cappa37

Please stop. Sable wasn’t a wrestler, Torie Wilson wasn’t a wrestler, Stacy Keibler wasn’t wrestler. If you could go back in time would you stop Vince from putting them on tv??? Yea, didn’t think so. You have a roster full of wrestlers, it’s okay to have some eye candy now and then.

      • Phoenix

Sable had a ‘no bumps’ clause in her contract. I don’t want anymore of that shit. Sad thing is, she was made to look like a wrestler LMAO.

        • G.I.R.L.

Most of the non female wrestlers WWE has nowadays are made to look like wrestlers; at least she could talk.

      • Nattie

There is nothing wrong with a little eye candy now and then. I agree. However, there isn’t anything wrong with showing off strong and talented women who can wrestle. A woman can be a good wrestler as well as being a beauty. They would just rather look for models rather than women who have that talent.

      • Spike_Spiegel

You ask me a question then answer it yourself? Thats such a douchey thing to do. Sable, Stacey Keibler, Torrie Wilson, all ladies from a diffrent time and era. These days in the wwe your not gonna have girls shoving their asses into the camera or anything like that.
So if just there to look good and put on terrible matches whats the point? And like i said with SDR training it might not be so bad. They need to have more than a pretty smile.

      • mr meow

torrie and stacey never really became wrestlers either

      • G.I.R.L.

The difference being that the era Sable and the others were around is also during a time when female wrestlers were very diversified. The 2004 diva search removed that diversity in place of tall girl w/giant boobs #1-infinity; which is why fans are tired of “mostly” eye candy chicks being hired and trained as wrestlers instead of just hiring wrestlers who look good or being something new to the table. And Torrie was great in the ring and had the body of a female wrestler; WWE just felt she was more marketable as strictly eye candy.

    • Benjamin

Every time I see someone bringing up that WWE has hired models in the past, I feel the need to remind them that women being stripped to their panties in the ring was considerably more common and showing off the women was a big part of the point. Now, the ONLY thing the women do to entertain is wrestle, and unless they’re going to bring back bra and panties matches all of a sudden, they need women who can wrestle and compete entertainingly, and who can speak and cut promos entertainingly. Otherwise, none of us will give a flying fluck and the Diva’s segments will remain the bathroom break segment.

    • John Wagner

I want women who can wrestle, and who look good.

  • pvd

I see a lot of “future endeavored” and “fans don’t care” females here

    • Smarkbasher

Well that’s cause your an idiot.

      • Smith

You’re an idiot for using the wrong “Your.” Idiot.

      • G.I.R.L.

        Actually, he’s pretty spot-on.

  • Andrew Campbell

I hope they sign the hot blonde in the front.

    • cappa37

      yes sir:)

    • G.I.R.L.

Ms. Up and down? No no; the one in the red dress is where it’s at.

  • Jamie Hawker

Pretty sure they’ll also end up looking for male models with no wrestling experience in the future.

    • G.I.R.L.

They’ve done that already, too. Pretty girls are a ton easier to market than pretty boys as women tend to vary in their tastes whereas men are just “big boobed tall chick, preferably blonde”. Not to mention, going “Twilight” on a larger scale would essentially turn away the larger male audience.

  • GMpunk

How about they just pull up Sarah Del Ray and bring back Kharma and Beth Phoenix? Enough with the models unless they are being trained to be valets..

    • Jeremy Gordon

WWE recently filed a trademark for the name Kharma, and Beth Phoenix sucked.

      • G.I.R.L.

        Both are true.

      • Rhawk

        You’re only half right I’m afraid/ =-)

  • Mafia Is Forever

Uhh…how about they just scrap all of their current ideas and do a company reboot like WCW did in 2000?… Vacate all the titles, get new creative members on the team (in all areas needed) and just go from there.

I mean, I’m not sayin’ that WWE is “dying” but they’re sinking themselves slowly… WrestleMania is always an exception because it grows every year plus the company always expands due to their media presence and stuff but I would like to see a fresh start for them. How about new stages and logos? Just give everything a makeover because wrestling doesn’t have an off-season, it gets stale and boring sometimes. If they’re as good as they say they are, then they should be able to bounce back and become better then ever…right???

    • Jeremy Gordon

What an idiotic bunch of statements.

      • G.I.R.L.

        No, not at all.

      • Mafia Is Forever

        You’re Goofy..

    • Mike

Oh man… bad memories dude.. I agree though with some of this, WWE is in BIG need for an overhaul in terms of its logos / stages / the ring itself. They should have changed the logo before making that new WWE title belt. Now it’s too late. Two separate looking stages for RAW and SmackDown would be nice too. Maybe a black ramp or a red/blue ramp for their respective brands. Red/black ring ropes for RAW, blue/silver ropes for SD. And white ones for ppvs only with the exception of WM which should have any type. The ring itself could use one too. Swap the usual white/sky blueish ring sheet with a sweet looking one similar to the one ROH has for RAW, and a blue/silver for SD.
And to top it all off, overhaul John Cena’s character by making him a heel. Have him grow out his damn hair for once like he used to have it back in college, and maybe sport some facial hair too. Hahaa… WWE needs to change alot of shit.

      • Mafia Is Forever

The WCW reboot was entertaining for the first night, then I felt like I was watching a deer die slowly in my arms. It was damn-near depressing.

  • Deante320

Oh for Christ sake, why don’t you just rename the damn thing “WWE’s next top modell and be done with it

    • Jeremy Gordon

Model has one l in it.

      • Deante320

Yeah sorry when I’m using an iPod and posting a comment, the comments disappears and I can’t see a damn thing what I’m writing

        • G.I.R.L.

          I know the feeling.

  • cappa37

They are so damn hot!!! Holy Shit!

    • G.I.R.L.

Hopefully they are well-trained (unless, of course, they are marketed as just ring girls; if that’s the case then the more the merrier).

    • Dan Kincaid

If you want to see hot girls there are other websites for that, if I’m watching wrestling I want to watch wrestling

  • A Paul Heyman Guy

Well I guess having wrestling skills doesn’t matter anymore (sigh).

    • G.I.R.L.

      Been this way since 2004.

  • Jeremy Gordon

Courtney Camero – Reality TV show contenstant

She was on For the Love of Ray J 2, trying to become Ray J (Singer Brandy’s brother, and Kim Kardashian fucker on camera).

Scrapping the bottom of the barrel I see.

    • G.I.R.L.

Yup, that’s WWE for ya. Can’t they see that many of these chicks just wanna be famous? There is no passion for the business; they’re only concerned with whether or not WWEtv will grant them access to the Hollywood life.

  • Nattie

Two of them look just like Eve. I could care less about them hiring ladies to be Divas. They need to learn how to utilize the ones they have instead of worrying about brining in new woman. Otherwise you have all of these ladies who are going to be nothing there.

    • Nattie

Isn’t Jenn Sterger the Favre penis gal?

      • Scott Reid

  • Agha Hadi Raza

only two of them are not so much my type, BUt the others are sexy as hell

  • BrickHouse

The only one I like out of this bunch is the blonde in the far right with the pink n white. Hot as hell! And she reminds me of sexy Beth Phoenix…

  • Hudson

The reason why WWE keeps going for models instead of female wrestlers is because most female wrestlers either look like men, are rugged, and are overall not that appealing to look at. To the people that think Sara Del Rey will ever be put on tv… think again. She’s not that pleasing to look at, and she’s as raunchy and rugged as it gets. You want a list of female wrestlers that are both talented and are actually hot enough to be a part of WWE’s divas division. I’ll give you a few: Cheerleader Melissa, MsChif, Allison Danger, Portia Perez, Christina Von Eerie, Serena Deeb, and Daffney (one of the most beautiful woman wrestlers I’ve ever seen in my life!…especially without that goth makeup) … to name a few. Unfortunately not every female wrestler is as hot as all of these! But hey… if WWE is looking for hot and talented, they should get these. With the exception of Daffney since she got hurt by that fatblob bitch some time ago.

    • Randy James Crawford

      What about Kharma and Tamina.

Sara Del Rey looks better than any “diva” currently in the WWE. She hasn’t messed her looks up with plastic surgery (unlike their current champion, Kaitlyn), looks natural, and doesn’t go out there looking like a piece of meat out of desperation to further her modeling career. She can actually, you know, entertain and showcase a great amount of talent.

“Sara Del Rey looks better than any “diva” currently in the WWE.” Kaitlyn looks like ass in the face, so I’m not gonna disagree there, but you think SDR is better looking than Layla, Natalya, Naomi, Cameron, The Bellas, Tamina , and Aksana? Whatever floats your boat man. That claim is entirely your opinion, trust me on that

      • X

Don’t impose your opinions on other people.

  • Captain Obvious

Obviously, this is going to fizzle out eventually, nice try with the divas WWE

  • I Believe

I can’t say anything on this since WWE has hired models more prominently in the last 20 years than in any other time period. Some women have worked out, while others have flopped faster than the implants some of them are known to have. Where my problem lies is that WWE would rather opt for the least physically athletic women looking for exposure to further their modeling careers than those willing to really give it their all for the business.

    • Stranger

The problem is that they’re looking for models to begin with… as opposed to women who have actually been wrestling and have been known for being passionate about this business. It’s sickening.

  • Stranger

Most of these fans getting a boner over the picture are part of the problem. They settle for the mediocrity that is demonstrated perfectly by the talentless group of models in the picture above. They’ll debut, have tedious 3 minute matches, and will never get over because the only purpose they serve is for a bunch of virgins to jerk off in the middle of the show.

Seriously, can they please consider searching for women who actually, you know… wrestle?

You’re probably a virgin your damn self, so shut up. And who are you to say which type of woman a fan should like. That’s not up to you. Get off your high horse.

  • Flare Demon

Girl in the pink and white stripes has future endeared written all over her face along with the one in the glasses. Hell all of em just look like eye candy. I see no talent.

  • Michael Jobe

They are all so fake looking, its creepy, its like looking at a living barbie doll collection or something.

    • Progress_Now

now you understand what I mean when I say “plastic”

  • person1000000000000

well most of these will just end up getting contracts but a lot will end up like joy Giovanni and Amy Weber but hopefully not because diva search contestants have made it big like Michelle mccool and Candice and its funny because they made a bigger impact them the actual winners since christy never got a title or anything

  • Rhawk

Well they’ve signed a bunch of actual female wrestlers down in NXT recently, so as long as we get an unknown girl ‘every so often’, not ‘every time’, then I don’t mind I suppose. Also helps that Sara Del Ray (the only with glasses in the pic btw) is training them so they are in good hands.
And out of the pictures, I’m not a blonde guy, but the blondes in this pics are the only girls that really interest me, the rest can go back in the catalogue.

Jenn Sterger vs. Brett Favre’s wife Deanna at Wrestlemania 30 in New Orleans (close to Favre’s home in Mississippi) with Favre locked in a cage above the ring. Winner unlocks the cage and gets the guy (kayfabe of course).

  • mr meow

they need to do this with guys

  • Dustin

I seem to remember a fitness model that was hired in 2000, as memory serves me she won the women’s title a few times. And maybe diva of the decade. Nd maybe the hof c/I 2013. Oh yea, it was Trish Stratus.

  • mlf107

…this is so upsetting. not that the divas division hasn’t become a complete joke anyway, but the return of the diva search is just the icing on the cake. and the best part is these girls will surely get tv time while actual trained wrestlers, female and male, rot in developmental.

  • JamieEvsxx

they all pretty much look the same…=/

  • AndesMoua

My attention is on the chick in the red dress and the blonde in the front.

  • Emily

Sad to see most of them are models. When will we see wrestlers sign up not models?
