Update On The Ultimate Warrior’s Death

TMZ.com reports that collapsed outside an Arizona hotel at 5:50 PM on Tuesday April 8th while walking to his car with his wife.  Warrior was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

  • pwnez

Something just doesn’t seem right. Sad nonetheless.

    • SOBI

thats life man nothing is sure

    • ibeBrave

I dont like to speculate but……The man gave a speech like he knew his time had come………I mean just two days ago he had a documentary come out about the true story about himself…..Him limping to the ring…Being gassed from just shaking the ropes….maybe he knew his time would soon be up…..All i know is……..Ultimate Warrior Passed Away As a Great Man.. Leaving A Great Look On The Career Of The Ulimate Warrior……May He R.I.P

      • guest

It feels like that.. least he got to reconcile his differences with wwe . Put in the hof and a proper dvd set coming out so his legacy will live on. Rip ultimate warrior

      • Louis Salera

Agreed. He looked in discomfort on Raw..so sad…im guessing heart disease..:-(

      • CheapOp

I agree. He made an effort to encourage fans to separate Ultimate Warrior the wrestler from Warrior the man. I believe he may have even said something along the lines of “Ultimate Warrior will live on in each of you”. Can’t recall. So sad, though. My childhood hero is gone.

    • Gimmick Bag

at least he got proper send off before he died…unlike Macho Man Randy Savage

  • Nicolai

I feel like watching his raw promo it was a suicide note.

    • lazarus87

Have some respect no one knows what caused this, it is, however, ironic. Sad none the less, but I think its a bit dramatic, did you watch his induction speech and how passionate he was towards his family? I do not think suicide is even an option here.

      • RynoJordan23

Agreed. He had a beautiful wife and two beautiful young daughters who walked him to the podium. Add to that a Legends contract and many chances to make appearances in front of the fans he loved. The guy looked so happy this weekend. Me? I feel like I got press slammed and splashed. RIP Warrior.

        • lazarus87

So true, this is just a horrible tragedy, people can have their opinions, not knocking that, but at the end of the day this was a man with a family, children, a wife, and an outstanding legacy as one of the most energetic, outspoken, and unique individuals in history. Rest in peace warrior.

  • QuiteFrankly2k

I was saying this on the other page…it is as if his life needed that last moment. He was just meant to be inducted..and show up for one last Ultimate Warrior promo! Its a bit creepy, I can’t explain it and I doubt anyone can. Its just as if this was what his heart wanted and that was the last thing his heart needed.

    • Nicolai

Warrior planned this. I know it’s cruel to point out but let’s face it, he was insane. I’ll bet any money he ended it. His raw speech was his note and this was a big middle finger to Vince and the wwe.

      • Bushwald Sexyface

        ^ Douchebag.

        • A Realist

You really need to stop calling people douchebags. People react how they react.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

I’ll stop calling douchebags douchebags when they stop being douchebags by trolling on someone’s death. Or until people get banned for said trolling. It’s ridiculous.

          • CSSA

^Bushbag. Your opinion on this isn’t the right one. Yeah people are being assholes about this, but others are letting their opinions be heard so don’t be a douchebag, douchebag.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

They’re not “opinions”. It’s being done to invoke immature arguments or pure trolling. So instead of arguing, I call them what they’re being. You know, kind of like what I did to you earlier.

          • QuiteFrankly2k

Im not here to argue, but to be honest not everyone is a troll man. Some people honestly could believe that. Its not out of this world..its very much so valid..

          • Bushwald Sexyface

If someone actually believes he “planned” his death today, then you are right. They’re not a douchebag. They’re a moron. My mistake.

          • pwnez

I disagree entirely with the argument that Warrior would kill himself just to screw Vince and the WWE. With that being said, believing this COULD HAVE been a suicide is not completely idiotic.

How many times have we seen celebrities who appeared to be happy end up killing themselves? It’s not that far-fetched. This doesn’t seem like it was coincidental.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

I was willing to believe suicide was a possibility until TMZ reported what they reported. Now that it’s been reported the way it has, people need to stop with the suicide stuff, especially the planned suicide crap.

          • pwnez

All TMZ said was that he and his wife were walking to their car when he collapsed. For all we know he could have taken drugs beforehand without his wife knowing. Nothing is for sure until we here from an actual doctor.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

Come on now, surely you don’t actually believe he would do that? I mean, yeah, I suppose it’s possible but not likely at all.

          • pwnez

Did anyone believe that Philip Seymour Hoffman would die of a herion overdose? What about David Carradine who died from autoerotic asphyxiation? No one would believe he would ever be involved in something like that. Kurt Cobain?

People think differently. Maybe he felt as if he said everything he needed to say and was tired of living in pain. Again, we don’t know for sure yet.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

Yes. Many people knew of PSH’s heroin addiction…

The others, point taken. But I none of those guys did what they did and went casually strolling out of their hotel room with their wife or girlfriend.

          • pwnez

PSH was said to have been clean for years. No one expected him to have been doing it secretly. Another prime example is Chris Benoit. We hear about incidents like this all the time and the first thing that we do is deny. “No, so and so would never do that…” Unfortunately we’re wrong sometimes.

No disrespect intended when I say this (and someone else actually said the same thing) but Warrior wasn’t exactly right in the head. You could tell by just the way he would talk at times. You and I both know he thought way differently than the rest of us. We don’t know what Warrior did in that hotel room.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

With PSH, they had reported his relapse about a month before he died…

And yeah, we both know Warrior was out there in a place normal people never visit….he just never once came across as someone that would feel the need or want to take his own life, especially after making amends with everyone.

We’ll just have to wait for the medical examiner’s verdict to know for sure I suppose.

          • memoryman00

I hear what you’re saying but if that was the case, then that would’ve made him an incredibly selfish person, much like Kurt Cobain and Ian Curtis. He would be leaving a wife without a husband and kids without a father.

Not saying it couldn’t happen, but it seems to go totally against his character (i don’t mean the UW character)

          • john

Sorry to break it to you but tmz isn’t always the most reliable source. Let’s wait and see what really happened

          • ynmarcell

Yeah, but to speculate of things we don’t know is kind of irresponsible don’t you think? Sure Initially I thought the same thing about him committing suicide I’m not gonna lie, but after realizing that I could be wrong, I recanted my sentiments. I feel that if we speculate we’ll be spitting in Warriors face, which isn’t cool. Just pay your respects to the deceased and keep the wheel turning. #RestEasyWarrior

          • pwnez

Every single one of us speculate. I wouldn’t use the word irresponsible because I don’t think that’s the right word to use.

I will have to disagree with you on that last part but you’re right, no sense for anyone to really be trolling around (like someone is doing above in the comments) on an article like this.

          • Bryce

You’re just one of those people that get ‘offended’ when others have different opinions. Yes they are opinions. You just don’t agree with them. You want to know what a troll is? A troll is a little imaginary bastaard under a bridge that likes to scare people when they pass by. A troll is also an overused term used on people that have differing opinions. Here’s a thought…. stop arguing and/or fighting with other people based on how THEY feel. Grow the hell up, and stop being a pusssy when someone says something you don’t like. People aren’t going to agree on the same things.

If you’re past the age of 14, you should already be aware of that.
Now hot about you get off your pedestal and quit the holier than thou garbage. On a side note, if you’re going to talk about immaturity and talk as if you were some sophisticated mature ‘adult’ over here amongst all these ‘troll children’… why don’t you ditch that stupid user name, and that even more stupid pic you’ve got there. It looks to me like you still have some maturing to do if you can’t accept the fact that others can think differently from you. So stop pretending to be mature.

          • Bushwald Sexyface

Rotf. Yes, I get so offended by the idiotic comments that are made. God, I don’t know how I get through the day with those comments on my mind so much. And, as I said before, they’re not generally opinions as much as they are comments invoked to generate negativity. And, if they are truly opinions, then they’re simply inept, delusional, or just plain ignorant.

And, rotf again @ arguing. Hello, I don’t argue with the idiots. I call them what they’re being as I said before. There’s no point in arguing with people who have childlike mentalities when it comes to someone passing away.

Anyway, you should heed your own advice. You got all hot and bothered by someone on the internet calling out others for the idiocy.

          • Keith

That’s right, people react how they react. You should use this same logic whenever you see other people paying respects to Jim Hellwig (the man). Instead of bickering back and forth with them over it (like in a bunch of comments you made on this site), let them feel however they want to feel. I guess you picked the best photo next to your name. It’s funny because you do talk from both sides of your mouth. hypocrite.
“I don’t respect him because he’s racist” And then on the other side of your mouth you say: “they don’t get good education in the ghettos” to a black person.

          • A Realist

Yup. You got it, dude. You got it all figured out. Please. Search out more of my posts to comment on. This should make for a fun time.

        • mike

so if it turns out to be a suicide then what?

        • mike

he did it to himself and deserves everything hes getting from the lord. treat your body like that and thats what happens

  • TheBear

Reminds me of the movie, The Wrestler. I’m glad he was rewarded with a lifetime achievement before his passing.

  • A Realist

My guess…is years of steroid (and possibly other drug) abuse caused heart disease. 18 years out of the spotlight, and a sudden thrust back into it can cause a lot of adrenaline and anxiety. Maybe the stress from this past weekend was just too much for his already damaged heart to handle. Either way, I’m glad he was able to find the peace his life was lacking.

    • Matt Gallagher

Maybe he had a heart attack, a lot of men in their 50s have them and some just can’t deal with that on their heart. Show some respect

      • mrchopper

It’s sad affect that when Warrior was huge in WWF/WCW, so was steroid and cocaine usage. Just look at some of his contemporaries. It’s all heart problems or “natural causes”, which is often undiagnosed heart conditions brought on from such a jacked-up lifestyle earlier in life. Macho Man and Hawk are two of my favourite wrestlers of all time (along with Vader), but their promos were covered in fairy dust.

      • A Realist

        Show some respect?

You are an idiot. You just said exactly what I said in a different way. Do you actually think before you hit that submit button?

        • Matt Gallagher

          Don’t attack others. Don’t be a bully… Be a star

          • A Realist

You are consistently one of the most idiotic commenters on this site. Congratulations.

          • Matt Gallagher

            Kk

    • partsunknownresident

Perhaps it was the steroid use, but it’s a strange thing nonetheless. I mean, Hogan used steroids and a bunch of other drugs, and he’s still alive. Other wrestler’s abused drugs and their bodies and they’re still going. Then again, others have died at a young age b/c of the drugs and wrestler lifestyle. I don’t know if there is a rational explanation for all of it. I read that Warrior was walking in the hallway of the hotel and suddenly clutched his chest and collapsed, so it was likely a heart attack. Before that, he was snapping photos with fans, smiling like everything was all right. It’s like with Jerry Lawler….a heart attack that came out of nowhere. Could’ve happened at any time, but it happened then and there. Warrior was so dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle, to having discipline and working out and not getting caught up in the drugs and stuff that other wrestlers got into. For that reason, this is still so shocking to me. Yet you read about people who are healthy, who do take care of themselves, and they get a heart attack anyways and they’re gone. Doesn’t make sense.

I guess when it’s your time, it’s your time.

“Trust me Death. When you come for my life, you will fight harder than you ever have!” – Warrior

Perhaps Warrior was fighting throughout the HoF weekend. Who knows? If so, he fought the good fight!

      • A Realist

You are not wrong, my friend. Everyone’s bodies are affected in different ways. We’re not immortal, none of us.

  • Bushwald Sexyface

Jake Roberts said on Twitter that they were able to bury the hatchet this past weekend. That’s awesome. I’m thrilled that Jim was able to get closure on everything he needed to before this happened.

  • ddp

ppl going around with these theories that he commited suicide shd just shut up… its clear he had a heart attack or a stroke.

    • Callum

excuse me you shut up all because TMZ “report” he collasped doesnt mean he did……the police and WWE will state how he died when its proven

    • pwnez

“It’s clear he had a heart attack OR a stroke.” So even you don’t know which one it COULD be. I didn’t know you were a doctor and that you could base this all from reading a simple statement released from TMZ.

    • Jarf

My first thought was a blood clot from flying. Either way, I am happy he received recognition before he passed.

  • vmc

vince killed him, that vindictive b@stard

Life is short, get saved from the lake of fire (the result of living in sin). People, call on Christ Jesus asap! Unbelievers… I know how you feel. I was once there. Take a chance and call on Christ’s name for good changes in your life, and salvation. Hopefully the Warrior was saved before leaving this earth.

    • lazarus87

So true, life is so short, call on god he will make all right, life is too short to spend it living in sin. We never know what tomorrow may or may not bring.

  • Jeremy-County Roberts

I watched his raw segment back, maybe its just me but he looked a little off during the whole thing. Sad. This goes to show us all that life can end just like that. You’re here one minute, gone the next.

  • Braddles

If he collapsed as reported its safe to say it was either a heart attack or stroke, but I didn’t think he looked healthy at the HOF or on RAW…sad all the same

  • Kevin Nelson

Amazing how life is all those years of going at each other, than when they finally bury the hatchet he passes away the lord works in mysterious way.

  • punnen john

    shocking…..
these days u never know when u will have ur last breath
    RIP UW

    • Xykon

When exactly where the times where people knew when they’d have their last breath. Just curious…

  • Umashankar Rathod

Strange thing is been happening.Takers streak is dead and warrior too…
Next wwe will be dead too after what they did to taker..

    • FTV

      No respect at all.

  • Bushwald Sexyface

He didnt say he was currently on steroids. Reading comprehension. Learn it.

  • Thomas Jefferson’s Penis

So I guess this news will over-shadow the Undertaker’s streak ending.

  • Bushwald Sexyface

Found this interesting tidbit on the net and thought others might be interested in knowing this:

This marks the third WrestleMania 7 match where all of the participants have passed away – First was Texas Tornado (Kerry Von Erich) and Dino Bravo, then The Big Boss Man and Mr. Perfect, and now Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior (plus Sensational Sherri and Elizabeth).

    • QuiteFrankly2k

Really? Has everyone on the card passed away..? Kind of crazy to know that all the members of the main event of the first Mania are still alive!

      • Bushwald Sexyface

Nah, not everyone on that card has passed. Those involved in those 3 matches have.

  • Guest

So he never at any point was on steroids? Never ever ever?

  • Jeremy-County Roberts

i can’t tell if FabsTooth is just trolling, has nothing better to do, or is really Kurt Angle on some drunken rampage on the internet again.

    • A Realist

They don’t get great education in the ghetto. He is more than likely just this way.

      • john

Now why assume he’s from the ghetto? Lol. Just ignore him he’s trolling and has nothing to do

        • Vargas

Because he’s an idiot. Generalizing. Dude he was talking to was black, so he’s got to be from a ghetto. Probably thinks the same way about Mixed and Latinos. Talking all that smug shIIt, acting like he’s smarter than everyone else. People like that aren’t worth shiit.

          • A Realist

            Somebody’s from the ghettoooooo….

          • A Realist

            And you know my ethnicity….

How? There’s one idiot here. You. For reading into one comment so much. That’s what cracks me up about people like you. One comment gets made, blown completely out of context, and you have to cry discriminatory foul. You’re just looking for any excuse possible to be “offended”, and pull the race card. Never mind the fact that I’ve slammed on every person here at least once, calling white boys hillbillies or hick, etc. Nope, the moment you feel an “injustice” against “brown people”….aw. Aw man, it’s an outrage! Go f*ck yourself, moron. Oh, and please. Everyone knows that Latinos are from the barrio.

        • A Realist

          See above.

          • A Realist

I understand. That’s why I stopped. Doesn’t matter. He’s banned now. But for the record, I looked at his Twitter account and it’s more of the same. It’s his “gimmick”. Being an ignorant jack ass from the ghetto.

      • Brian

Cuz u come from the ghetto, u can’t be smart now smh? How rude, ignorant, & discriminating your comment was.

        • A Realist

Says a more than likely white boy from the suburbs.

Please, spare me your mock indignation.

      • Vargas

Why does he have to be from a ghetto? Because he’s black? Who the hell do you think you are? You’re probably the type of idiota/pendejo that thinks the same about brown people too huh? F’n coward sissy pseudo-intellectual jackasss. And don’t even try to deny it. You wouldn’t have even mentioned ‘ghetto’ if the dude you were talking to wasn’t black.. Tu eres un asqueroso. Pendejo estupido! Not everyone lives in ghettos, many black and brown work hard and earn their SHIIT. I know your type. Internet coward you wouldn’t say any of that shiit in person.

        • A Realist

lol…..his whole shtick is being an ignorant idiot from the ghetto, asshole. I looked at his Twitter account and it’s more of the same. It’s his “gimmick”. But hey..fly off the handle some more. Please. That was entertaining. PS…I’m guessing you’re Hispanic? You didn’t make that clear enough…

  • ibeBrave

Damn dude You’ve Got No Respect….Starting Beef with other wrestling fans at this point in time..What realist is trying to say is that the 80s Weren’t clean years for some wrestlers. They took drugs to enhance their performance, And to ease their pain that they took from matches….maybe Warrior Did Maybe He Didn’t…All that matters right now is us paying our respects and tring to find out how he passed…Soooo Just Chill Out Dude

  • TheMoomin

    Moomin here:
You clearly responded as you thought the persons comment was directed at Warrior. Stop trying to spin it any other way.

  • G.I.R.L.

Taking steroids was not a surprise during Warrior’s prime, it was a push to the mainevent.

Don’t be such an ignorant mongrel.

  • insomniacreviewer

Wow… i just saw him on raw monday, i can’t believe it he looked healthy on raw may he rest in peace.

  • insomniacreviewer

I’m sad to hear that The Ultimate Warrior has passed away but now he gets one more match with the late great Macho Man Randy Savage on the true grandest stage of them all… heaven. R.I.P Ultimate Warrior.

  • Rick Yuhnke

I am stunned. Been a fan of this stuff for now 30 years and ever damn time one wrestler dies, I feel….Insane to think he just did all of those things for the WWE, signed a legends deal and now he is no more. Wow

  • Paul

If you don’t think Warrior was on steroids then you must be crazy. It is very tragic this has happened. Steroid abuse or not this is a tragedy & arguing about something like this just isn’t the right time. I feel sorry for his lovely family he has left behind.

  • Leather Face

An “intelligent” person like yourself would know that naturally achieving that physical size just isn’t possible. One thing to be ripped, another to be massive. I guess Hogan never took roids either? Mostly all wrestlers took them in the ’80s. Instead of listening to 2 chains, maybe you should pick up 2 books.

  • Danny Morgan

    Are you Mr T?

  • Hobbs

It’s a shame that the majority of this discussion is just people insulting one another getting into heated arguments when surely the decent thing would be to just pay your respects to Warrior!?!
Whether it’s the result of past steroid abuse or stroke/heart attack, it’s irrelevant. The fact is the legend that is Ultimate Warrior has sadly passed and this forum should be used to pay condolences and reflect on the impact he’s had on the industry positively. Just my opinion. R.I.P. Warrior

Not even 24 hours after being on Raw. Adding in the Hall of Fame weekend, this was literally Warrior’s “shortest run” in the WWE.

  • 7962

You’re gonna look like a fool when the autopsy results come out and shows yet another heart attack. But you keep on juicing if you think it makes you cool. He’s admitted doing steroids.

    • NXTNETWORK

that was 18-20 years ago, i feel if he didn’t go to raw he’d still be alive

      • A Realist

The damage was already done. But you are right about him going to Raw. The stress of going in front of all those people more than likely proved to be too much.

  • Zahid Zafeer

How ironic he came back ‘home’ and he finally was inducted into the hall of fame. I feel so sad for his wife and his 2 daughters. A piece of my childhood has just died.

  • Buzzard Follower

Thay promo will now haunt me. I noticed aT wm and raw he held his chest alot i cant help but wonder did he know

  • Enigma516

You all have your point. Did he use steroids, yes. Did he admit to it, yes. Does that change the fact that he is now dead, no. Back in those days most of the talent juiced. It is creepy as hell though that he gave that speech then died. He did entertain us so he deserves to be recognized and he was. R.I.P.

  • Phoenix Ramsey

It takes a special kind of redneck to argue on a thread devoted to Ultimate Warrior’s death.

  • Daishi79

My favorite wrestler as a kid. Got to see him wrestle Andre back in ’89. Only 30 seconds, but it was a blast.

  • Wes Eisenschenk

The DVD The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior showed most people in the business back then hated him. 9 years later WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, the Warrior is surrounded by the people who confessed they hated him on the DVD. 3 days later, The Warrior Dies. Sounds like a conspiracy to me.

  • SonofSheik81

One of my absolute favorites growing up. The energy and the passion that he had coming to the ring made wrestling seem larger than life. Always kind of thought he was misunderstood outside of the ring. I really enjoyed his HOF speech and the promo on RAW. Was shocked to hear it on the radio coming into work this morning. In a lot of ways, it really turned into a story book ending of a man making his peace and cementing his legacy in a business he was passionate about. Finally… something the WWE creative team couldn’t screw up. RIP Warrior. Good luck on your spaceship ride to that big planet in the sky.

  • Bushwald Sexyface

I dunno..you typed “someone is” as opposed to “someone was”. Kind of made it clear that you took it as presently. Anything else?

  • ynmarcell

Warrior actually admitted to taking steroids back in the day if I’m not mistaken. Maybe you should do a bit of research first before lashing out at someone. But nonetheless, this is a a sad tragic situation.

  • Bushwald Sexyface

Rotf. You can spin it however you want. You took it the way you took it and came off as a jacka** because of it. Like I said, learn how to comprehend what you read before making yourself look like a fool.

How are you safe!? The dude clearly said, ” I did use steroids, and I’ve been open about it from the very beginning.” Case Closed…MITCH!

  • ynmarcell

First of all my original comment had nothing to do with you and the other guy. All I was doing was pointing out the FACT Warrior took steroids, so for you to even lash out at me for doing so makes you a moron. Oh, and for you to call me corny for the Husbands of Hollywood reference is really hilarious, the FACT that you caught on to it means you’ve seen the show, now wouldn’t that make you corny as well?

    IDIOT

  • Guardian Star Lord

What are you talking about? They’re all dead.

  • CJltw

Im sure your twisted pal…. cesaro, roman reigns? jobbers? future WWE champions in my opinion

and the reason the streak ended to brock lesnar was because undertaker has full creative control of his character and hand picked brock. its been reported by dave Meltzer who is a very well respected wrestling journalist that undertaker has been pushing for this for the past few years…. but unfortunately either the money wasn’t good enough or he had other fueds running

Texas Tornado (Kerry Von Erich) – Suicide
    Dino Bravo – Homicide
The Big Boss Man – Heart attack
    Mr. Perfect – Drug overdose
    Randy Savage – Heart attack
(plus Sensational Sherri and Elizabeth) – Drug overdose
Your just being childish because someone doesn’t value your opinion. WWE acknowledged all these deaths either on tv or online

Arguing on an online comments system is pretty moronic. Trust me when I say, it’s not worth your time (or stress)
