WrestleMania 29 Title Matches: The Rock vs. John Cena, Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger

After Sunday’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, the top 2 title matches are now set for April’s big WrestleMania 29 event.

WWE Champion The Rock will defend against Royal Rumble winner John Cena in a rematch from last year’s “Once In A Lifetime” match. The Rock retained the WWE title against CM Punk at Elimination Chamber to set up the blockbuster rematch. This will be the first time in history that WrestleMania is headlined by the same match two years in a row.

World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio will defend against Jack Swagger. Jack Swagger won the 6-man Elimination Chamber match to earn his title shot in what will be the Mexican hero champion against Swagger’s new “We The People” anti-immigrant character.

WrestleMania 29 takes place on Sunday, April 7th from the Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

    I really like Jack Swagger but it is way too soon for him to be in the World Title picture. Remember what happened last time they pushed him too quickly? He was a jobber, he suddenly became relevant, he got his main event push, nobody cared, his title reign was pointless and forgettable and then he became an irrelevant jobber again by the end of the year.

    I don’t want WWE to make the same mistake again since I actually want Jack Swagger to succeed this time.

      I wanted Undertaker to vs. Brock at WM29 not CM Punk at WM29 I hope Punk is in the 3 Way WWE Title match but I hope Taker vs. Brock for HHH since HHH said we have not seen the last of the Undertaker at the slammy raw. And since HHH can’t beat Brock since he broken his arm twice and HHH know that Taker can’t lose at WM since he fail 3 time beat him at WM. HHH will fouse Brock to instil of vsing him at WM he said u will vs this man and light go off and Undertaker return to the ring and cokeslam Brock.

    What on earth were you thinking? Here’s how it could have gone. Jericho wins the chamber. Del Rio gets ambushed by Langston. Ziggler cashes in. Jericho vs Ziggler for the WHC. Del Rio feuds a bit longer with Big Show – cuz Show is pissed he tapped out or something.

    But instead you went with a guy you nearly buried so hard you could have fired him alongside Reks? And thats gonna equal buy rates? Or are you just assuming that because you have Rock Cena 2 that you dont need to put much effort into the booking for the rest of the show?

      Vince doesn’t care if one person stops watching WWE. Besides you wont quit watching just because Cena wins. It gets annoying sometimes indeed but hop off the bandwagon and just enjoy the show.

    A Ziggler v Y2J WHC match could’ve stole the show, but I think they don’t give a damn since the WHC match will be 1st on the card. I knew Swagger was going to get the win after ADR retained for the classic heel/face match, which is terrible, because they’re starting a fued at WM when a fued should be culminating at WM.

    Ziggler v Y2J is a fued that has already written itself. Even a Ziggler v Orton, Big Show v Y2J, or Orton v ADR gives you more to work with in terms of history than this. DAMN!!!

    I like Swagger, but he’s getting yet another premature push w/o building him up properly. WTF; why does the WWE hate the fans or money for that matter.

      I wanted Ziggler vs Jericho too. But what if they just didn’t want a third rematch on the card? Triple H vs Lesnar only fought once at Summerslam and people are complaining about that rematch. Ziggler and Jericho had a match at Summerslam and the next night on Raw. Cena vs Rock makes the third rematch.

    I could see wrestlemania shaping up to be Rock vs cena. Del Rio(quite possibly ziggler) vs swagger vs orton. Roman reigns vs sheamus. Shield vs Kane/Bryan New champs. Punk vs lesnar seeing as he just decked heyman.

      hard to be happy about how much WM is gonna suck. noone wants to see Rock/Cena 2. noone cares about Swagger, period. he’s got no charisma, no personality and his first title run sucked balls, was one of the most boring WWE periods ever.

      now the entire show rests on Brock Lesnar, and if his match with Triple H at Summerslam is anything to go by, then it pains me to say that he won’t do much to make WM watchable.
