WrestleMania 30 Confirmed For New Orleans, Louisiana

The Times-Picayune newspaper in New Orleans, LA reports that WrestleMania 30 has been confirmed to take place on April 6, 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA.

“We are proud to have played host to some of the greatest sports and entertainment events in the world over the past two years, and hosting WrestleMania is a great way to continue this unprecedented streak,” said New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu.

“We look forward to hosting WWE and its global fan base as they celebrate this historic milestone at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.”

WWE will officially make the announcement at a press conference this afternoon at noon ET.

    Very bad and shady decision. Earlier this week WWE said they weren’t even considering NOLA….and the crowd sucked last night.

      WWE didn’t say they weren’t considering New Orleans, they just didn’t include the city on a speculative list about which cities could host the event .. The crowd did suck last night, but WrestleMania brings in fans from all over the world, so even if the host city is known for weak crowds, a WrestleMania crowd is made up of mostly tourists and die hard fans

    Of course all of the NY wrestling fans are going to come on here and say the crowd sucked last night. NY is basically hosting WM this year and NY should not get WM 2 years in a row no matter what.

      whatever your opinion is you cannot say the crowd was even moderate last night. It sucks big time and cheered or booed for nobody at all. Terrible crowd in NOLA definitely unexpected.

      they’ll get a bigger attendance at this years wrestlemania from jersey than next years i say for 30 they’ll get 80’000 people in and in new jersey they’ll get 90’000

    is it a coincidence that the last two WM locations hosted the previous Superbowls? Superbowl 2012 and WM 29 (2013)- Metlife Stadium, Superbowl 2013 and WM 30 the Mercedes-Benz Superdome tt(2014)

    They should have picked Detroit. Wrestlemania 23 was the best.

    I think I would have rather seen WM return to MSG even though 29 is being done at MetLife….still seems like every 10 yrs they return to MSG….I think it’s just a bad decision.

    If they had not went with MSG, I think either Atlantic City (kinda like they did for WM 4 and 5) would have been a good choice. Just dunno about it being in New Orleans…
