WWE 2K15 Confirmed For PS4 & Xbox One

WWE 2K15

Earlier this week, Take-Two interactive officially announced that WWE 2K15 is in development. While the initial announcement made no mention of the game being available on next generation consoles, the company has now confirmed WWE 2K15 will in fact be released on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

During a Wednesday night earnings call with investors,  Take-Two president Karl Slatoff said:

“In addition, during fiscal 2015, consumers can look forward to exciting next generation releases from our NBA 2K and WWE franchises as well as other unannounced titles that promise to raise the bar for excellence. We will have more to share about our titles throughout the next several months as we head into E3.”

Take-Two Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick touted the strong sales performance of WWE 2K14, which exceeded their sales projections:

“Our WWE franchise has quickly proven to be a successful addition to our portfolio Sales of WWE 2K14 have exceeded our expectations and the title is being supported with add-on content including a Season Pass featuring many of fan-favourite WWE superstars and legends. We believe there is a meaningful opportunity to grow this series by further leveraging 2K’s marketing power and development expertise.”

As for whether WWE 2K15 will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360, Zelnick explained:

“We have haven’t said anything about our NBA titles – but for next gen platforms – our sports titles but for next gen platforms. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that we are not going on current gen, rather we are going on current gen, it’s not related at this point. It just means we haven’t had anything to share”

There’s no word yet on when WWE 2K15 will be on sale, but an October/November release date seems likely.

“While there was no mention of the game being available on next generation consoles, the company has now confirmed it will be released on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.” Are these people dumb? PS4 and Xbox One ARE THE NEXT GEN CONSOLES!!

    • TyIdeas

When can we start calling them the current-gen?

      • Matt Gallagher

I still have 360 and only gettin xbox one when the price lowers by about $100

        • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

You might get your wish this fall if the rumors are true about a Kinectless Xbox One for $349.99 with Halo 2 anniversary on November 11 :)

There was no mention of it being available on next gen consoles during the first announcement. Last night, they held a conference call confirming the games WILL be available for next gen consoles.

It doesn’t matter since these wrestling games stink now anyway. All Yukes does now is spit out half a$$ clones like Madden. They updated rosters, tweak create – a – fluff crap, add the same 15 belts they’ve been adding for years, and the piss poor universe mode that will never compare to the perfectly sequenced and balanced branched out campaign modes for much of the current roster like in older titles. I still believe the devs created universe mode so that they can be lazy. That’s why each WWE game that has come out since SVR 2011 looks and feels cheap. They’re worth nothing more than a rental or a $20 bargain bin price if you want to buy it. How many people still play WWE ’12 or ’13 today? Not many I’m sure. And after 2k14, after you breeze through WM mode, and beat Taker a few times there’s nothing else. They might have added longevity if they allowed you to edit the outcomes of WWE ’13 and 2k14, but they chose the stupid linear practically on rails route. Maybe if they didn’t waste so much game power on create – a – fluff , these games would actually be hot.

They need to implement some things from Here Comes the Pain, like for example, being able to climb on titantrons again..

    • Deceiver

The create modes have always been the best part of these games. Reducing those features would definitely lose 2K my money. If anything, the create modes (especially create a wrestler) desperately need an update.

    • Pissed off WWE games fan

That is the single greatest hashtag I have ever seen.

    • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

It was THQ fault for pressuring Yukes to make in WWE game every year with little to no assists. Hopefully, 2K Games would actually help assist with development with Yukes.

      • http://www.facebook.com/addictedanimefans Stephen Wago

Yukes had a foundation that they established two + games ago.
Every year should of been a little more improved, however for every step they take forward, they’re taking another back. – That falls on Yukes.

Between the re-releasing the same bugs that were previously patched on the new game and down ignoring the WWE games community. It’s so easy to pass it off as a THQ thing. But as long as Yukes is developing you’re going to see the same issues with 2K.

        • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

I’ll say we give them one more try, especially since they’re going to a new generation of consoles. Also, Visual Concept(NBA 2K developers) are helping with assisting with the development of WWE 2K15.

If the game still haves A LOT of glitches and is just not good even on the new consoles, then they have to go.

          • http://www.facebook.com/addictedanimefans Stephen Wago

Yea I guess that’s easier enough to agree with.

  • The Drewster

When i buy this game and play my first match on WWE 2K15 and if it still looks like crap on next gen, i’m going to burn and piss on the damn game!!!

    • Eric Gravely

I will just not buy it to begin with.

      • The Drewster

I don’ t know what it is but i’ve been buying the wwe games every year when they come out since WWF Smackdown on PS1 came out. So..Unfortunately i may step into the trap again this year and buy WWE 2K15

        • Eric Gravely

I bought 2k14 in hopes that it was going to be different. In some ways I wish I had a say in these gaming companies as to what I would like to see in each game. Since WWF No Mercy, wrestling games have constantly gotten worse.

  • matthew

will it come out for ps3?

    • matthew

      never mind

  • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

Hopefully it’s only for Xbox One, which is the only “One” device you need!

    • PS4 is clearly better

I’m going to laugh so hard when Microsoft reverts back to it’s original design for the Xbox One, forcing a daily internet connection, forcing the Kinect, and all that other lovely stuff. I don’t understand how anyone could buy an Xbox One, you people honestly trust them? Nevermind the price tag being more, or the online service costing more.. You guys trust Microsoft? Have fun having everything you say or do around the Xbox being monitored.

      • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

At least “The One” has games! Enjoy Unfarted 4, The Order: No Multiplayer 86, and Shitamous: Second Son. Also, have fun replaying Knack due to the lack of games!

PS PLUS and Xbox Gold are the same price now and both are required for online multiplayer.

Besides, I was in favor of the original plans before people cried about used games. DIGITAL POWER!

        • Shenmue

The One? What is the the Matrix? Also, what type of idiot would SUPPORT the original plans for the Xbox One? What type of brain dead, blind sheep do you have to be to let a company bend you over and screw you over like that? You obviously only buy consoles do to the brand name and not what’s actually superior if you’d support DRM.

          • PS4 is clearly better

Let the sheep get devoured by the wolves, it’s part of nature.

          • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

I’ll be devoured by wolves while enjoying “The One” :)

          • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

DRM is not bad when used right. For example, Steam(PC game service) uses DRM as well, but the game prices are ridiculously cheap! I assumed the same thing was going to happen for “The One”, but people have such hatred towards “The One” due to it being Microsoft. Sony was going to do the same thing until they saw the reaction towards Microsoft and became the “Saints” of gaming.

I also hope and pray Shenmue 3 is released exclusively on “The One”! Come on Microsoft and Sega!

        • Deceiver

        • PS4 is clearly better

“Haves games”. Not even a sentence into your response and you’ve lost all credibility.

          • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

Dead Rising 3, Forza, Killer Instinct and even Ryse compared to Knack(LOL!) and Shitzone:Crumblefall. Resogun is okay, but I did not pay $399 for an HD defender!

          • PS4 is clearly better

I’m not buying the PS4 for it’s exclusives. I’m buying it because it’s superior to the Xbox. Judging by your comment in this topic it’s pretty clear you’re a moron. You belong on the Xbox with the rest of the stupid kids who buy it because of the brand.

          • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

That was cold calling me a moron, but Xbox is popular in America compared to the PlayStation, so I feel more comfortable buying an Xbox to support the American economy and buying a system that is patriotic to America and popluar with my friends.

I know it’s built in China, but the more Xboxes that are sold, then the better the economy for Microsoft, which is vital to Amerca’s Economy, especially due to the terrible job of Obama handling of the Economy.

I hope I made you proud, Rush Limbaugh!

          • superturbo

Plenty of people buy both (PS4, X-Box One) if they’re truly into gaming. As its the games that people ought to be bragging about playing not the systems they’re on.

Which is exactly why the whole exclusive thing creates a situation where most smart people get both gaming systems and can play either console exclusives without the worry of being left-out if they had one over the other.

          • The One, The Only, The Ellis!

I’m not saying PS4 is bad, but I really prefer the American Xbox One :) I’ll get a PS4 when there’s more interesting games coming out that are not just sequels to boring linear games.

Have You Seen Titanfall?!?!?! I’m expecting 10 million Xbone Ones being sold on March 11 in just America alone!

  • Richard Latta II
  • superturbo

Releasing another WWE game so soon this year is a mistake unless Yukes have radically changed up the existing system from all the previous; Smackdown Vs Raw games that the current titles still use more or less?!

Especially if this is for Next Gen consoles, where more is expected playability and system wise. Which in this case it shouldn’t even be called WWE 2K15 but something entirely.

  • Taiana Aubrey

WWE games haven’t been fun since Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain after that, they’ve all been crappy.

    • J’vo

No,actually the game start crap since SVR 08,when they decide to more “realistic” but less fun, even SVR 07 have unrealistic storyline

  • Jdog3D

well if it don’t come out for the ps3 then me and the wwe games had a good run, but I aint buying a ps4 just to get a wwe game.

    • BDS

      ditto for sure mate
