Jack Swagger vs. Rusev 20140715_Battleground_SwaggerRusev_LIGHT_HP This has been an entertaining feud that has benefitted both wrestlers. Rusev is finally starting to receive heel heat after weeks of lukewarm reception. Swagger has also reinvigorated his character after turning face and defending the good ol’ red, white, and blue. I think creative will want to keep this one going a while longer to get both guys (especially Rusev) over more with the crowd. The best way to do that would be for a no decision. I think this one will evolve into a brawl that spills outside of the ring. One of the superstars could be disqualified, but I’m predicting a double countout to continue this program into SummerSlam. Winner: No Decision (Double Countout) Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt 20140715_Battleground_JerichoWyatt_LIGHT_HP Jericho has been Wyatt’s primary target since returning to the WWE. He has suffered a number of brutal beatings at the hands of Wyatt, including a Sister Abigail onto the metal stage last week on Raw. It is obvious that Jericho is here to put Wyatt over. The Eater of Worlds will win this one by pinfall after hitting Sister Abigail once again. The only questions that remain is whether Bray will require assistance to come out victorious, and whether this feud is continued for another month. Winner: Bray Wyatt by pinfall Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose 20140715_Battleground_RollinsAmbrose_LIGHT_HP Book it now: this will be the match of the night. These two have been involved in a bitter feud since the breakup of the Shield. Another dimension was added to the program after Seth Rollins became Mr. Money in the Bank. This will be a strong back and forth contest with multiple near falls. After a solid fifteen to twenty minutes of action, Ambrose will eventually come out on top after hitting Dirty Deeds. I predict that Ambrose steals the briefcase after the contest and flees the arena. This would keep Rollins away from the title picture for a few weeks while the focus is on Brock Lesnar’s return, and it would allow for the two to fight one another at SummerSlam with the briefcase on the line. Winner: Dean Ambrose by pinfall John Cena (WWE World Heavyweight Champion) vs. Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton vs. Kane 20140715_Battleground_Fatal4Way_no_Burst_LIGHT-HOMEPAGE Roman Reigns has been pushed as a legitimate contender to walk out with the title in recent weeks. I don’t think he is quite ready to hold the strap just yet, and with leaked posters and videos all but confirming John Cena and Brock Lesnar for SummerSlam, it is safe to assume that Cena leaves as champion. There will definitely be some shenanigans from the Authority. After Plan A (Randy Orton) and Plan B (Kane) both fail to stop the leader of the Cenation, the Authority will end the show by unleashing Plan C on Cena in the form of the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar. Lesnar’s attack will write Cena off of Raw tomorrow while he fulfills a movie obligation and set up their feud for SummerSlam. WWE Battleground 2014 Preview and Predictions

The top superstars in the WWE will compete at this Sunday’s Battleground pay-per-view. Headlining the event is a fatal four-way matchup for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

In all, there are eight matches scheduled for the event, and nearly all of the company’s titles will be up for grabs. Here are my predictions for Sunday’s Battleground.

Cameron vs. Naomi (Pre-Show Match)

lets hope cesaro debuts a new theme song or goes back to his old theme song miracle

    • WTF

Yeah i hope he goes back to his old theme “Miracle.” That theme had fit him well.

    • Joshi Danger

Miracle – The beat, The Swiss-German to French rapping, and the lyrics. Perfection.

Time is passing by, he gets older, he is wiser in his speech
Back to the future, he believes in life and love again,
He sees death in another way, he goes his way when one tries to pull him outside overnight
It’s the result of a prayer, he takes care of things again, sees the horizon until the sea overnight
But it is only the result of a prayer, it was now or never, yesterday doesn’t matter
      It’s a miracle, it’s true!
      It’s a miracle, it’s true!
      It’s a miracle, it’s true, it’s a miracle!
He saw black from the bottom of his red eyes, he wanted gold
and not only things to move, that man would have killed a friend just to not be sidelined
if you believe the words he says, a wacky marginal mind but so close to everything, to everyone
he coughed already despite his infinite ideas, he sought the elevator of the first floor at the last,
no doubt he would end up in the cage, underground or in the wall without turning the page

  • http://www.sescoops.com Undertaker316

dean ambrose vs seth rollins ladder match for the mitb briefcase at summerslam would be epic

    • Joshi Danger

Ladder match would be cool. I think they should do something like a Hell in a Cell style match, with the briefcase hanging above the cage. First you have to escape, then climb, then grab. It could afford these two with a huge playground to tell this twister of a story. They both love shock and awe and they could have a lot of fun with it. Oh well a guy can dream right?

  • http://www.lemonparty.org Bad News Barrage

Easy to pick. Naomi, Sheamus/Ziggler, Usos, AJ, Rusev, Wyatt, Rollins, Cena.

  • MajorHeel

I agree with this 100% this is such a predictable pay per view.

  • http://youjizz.com/ Jomo

I got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is that Paige loses. Good news is that AJ wins

  • wear42

Yeah pretty much agree with it all, its way to predicable but i hope the matches are good.

  • Tazz

I think wwe should have Paige vs AJ in a submission match. They both have a devastating submission hold.

  • Tazz

A good thing about the network is wwe is treating every ppv like like one of the top 4. Wwe wants new subscribers and existing to stay.

This ppv has a good card with the potental to be an awesome ppv. The only ok matchup is the pre show match

    • Joshi Danger

      Now apparently two match-ups.

  • brad

Man Battleground looks to be the best PPV all year so far.

  • Buzzard Follower

    my picks
    naomi def cameron
    sheamus wins ic battle royal
    wyatts def usos new champs
    aj def paige
    rusev def swagger
    wyatt def jericho
    rollins def ambrose
cena def roman kane orton kane takes fall

  • raVen

Ambrose over Rollins?? Not a chance.

    • Joshi Danger

Ambrose will win so that they can set up for a Money in the Bank briefcase match at summerslam. Although I don’t like it either.

  • rashad jackson

seriously if any of you think cena is going to lose tonight yall are just dumb
its been confirmed a million times he is facing lesnar at SS so he will win tonight
i hate wwe giving cena so much shine…and if lesnar loses to cena at SS i will be pissed…how r u gonna have a guy who did the impossible beat the streak lose to super cena…it doesnt add up
lesnars been on his own undefeated streak since last MAY i think…dont kill that momentum now

  • rashad jackson

also i would like the wyatts to win..
im sorry but i find the usos boring!!…they arent interesting to me ANYMORE”
the wyatts should of won at the last ppv!!
    i hope they win tonight

i would love ambrose to win but wwe likes screwing things up and give it to the guy with the briefcase…just cuz he won MITB doesnt mean he has to win every match let ambrose win tonight please!!
