WWE Considering Babyface Turn For Top Heel, Ryback-Shield, WWE 13 & More

was the 9th best selling game of November. Despite this, overall sales have been strong for the game.

– Before Randy Orton got injured at Sunday’s Tribute to the Troops taping, WWE was planning for Randy Orton to face at this weekend’s TLC pay-per-view.

– Speaking of Alberto Del Rio, WWE is considering turning him babyface in early 2013. While this would be difficult because his Mexican aristocrat gimmick is pure heel, the company is badly in need of a top Hispanic worker. Rey Mysterio has 2 Wellness strikes against him and is in the tail end of his career, while Sin Cara has failed to take off as to company had hoped.

– WWE has released the following video looking at ’s current feud with leading up to the 6-man tag main event at TLC:

I wouldn’t say ADR is a top heel since not many fans care about him. Like Miz, he is in need of a character change. It’s obvious that he won’t get over as a heel.

Sin Cara not getting over is WWE’s fault.

yeah i mean they not making talk is big deal since his very technical almost coriograph wrestling is not making it for many fans…

If his brother was ready to go, I’D bring him in to feud with del Rio in a jilted family member type storyline.

i dont think the crowd would buy adr turning face, it would be like cena becoming heel, i just dont see it either happening or working if it happened

There is nothing special about Alberto Del Rio. He is not cherished talent, barely receives any heel heat as it is, and all WWE has the former masked luchadore and MMA fighter doing is the cross facebreaker to crucifix armbar and an enzugiuri. Really nothing special.

  • God’s Diamond

enjoyed adr’s feud with rko especially the way he pronounced ‘pre deh torrrr’ and kept calling rko ‘nayna’ (spl?)

“Sin Cara has failed to take off as to company had hoped”

first off, theres some kind of grammer mistake there. Secondly, Sin Cara has not failed. Its WWEs fault for not giving him any major opportunities to show what he can truly do. Im a huge fan of Sin Cara actually but WWE needs to put him in more meaningful matches then to keep having Punk and Cena hog the spotlight.

Del Rio is awesome. I love the guy; he had an awesome match with Ryback yesterday. Hopefully they don’t turn him face though. He works great as a heel. I don’t like Sin Cara, but don’t blame that man for WWE’s fuck ups. That man said when he first got to the WWE, he asked if they can modify his mask so that he can see better, and they told him no, it’s part of his character. He also asked some guys in the back if they can help him train and they told him no. HAHAHA!

In order for Sin Cara to be successful they need to stop trying to make him Rey 2.0.and just let him be Sin Cara.

AdR as a face? I don’t know: he’d have to either drop the aristocrat crap *or* maybe use his aristocrat status to *help* people. I don’t think, at this point, I could back AdR. I just wish they’d quit having Ricky getting involved in the matches and, for that matter, quit playing ring announcer: he’s annoying!

When the heck did he become the top heel? Whenever he comes on I change the channel or wait for Cena’s arrival.

With The Miz and Del Rio becoming faces and Punk and Orton will be heel, I hope WWE pays attention to this because someone is going to need to become a heel if they want to shake things up for Wrestlemania 30. (John Cena needs to be heel. Just in case no one got where I was going.)

    JBL VS Alberto Del Rio…Wrestlemania 29 :D

  • Rock Solid

Alberto Del Rio can be a face easily. Remove the rich boy gimmick, and play off the bad economy. Have him lose alot of his stock and his green. Then have him grow out his hair a little, with some extra facial hair. Then turn his attitude from arrogant rich boy, to down to earth near broke guy, understanding hardships, and trying to work his ass up the ladder. That easy!

    • BitRipper

      Soooo… The 2008-ish JBL/Shawn Michaels storyline?

  • Backstreet Bungalow

While Mysterio is indeed at the tail end of his career, isn’t Del Rio in his 40s?

    • Pozessed

      He is 35.

  • BrahmaBullRKO

I’ve seen him work as a babyface and he does it quite nicely. If this is true, I look forward to it. I think if they do what they’re doing with Miz (and by that I mean turn him face but still have him keep his ego and what not) then he could be a big time player in the future. He just can’t connect with the crowd ad a heel, but perhaps he can as a face, given the right character.

  • SLIDER

WWE could turn Del Rio a babyface if they get rid of his wealthy man gimmick. Nobody buys it anyway, that’s why the crowd is for the most part silent when he comes out. JBL pulled it off because he did it proper, and he was legit.
And I think WWE ’13 is trash. You can’t even re create the attitude era the way you want. And there’s no campaign on there but that rehash crap. I always laugh at that commercial with CM Punk talking about bringing back attitude. What attitude?

  • willijs8

They should do the DDP thing where he went broke and lost everything. And have Ricardo Rodriguez turn on him.

    Fuck Del Rio, in general,.
