WWE Considering Daniel Bryan vs. Kane “Buried Alive” PPV Match

As previously reported, WWE is still looking to convince Batista to work a program with Daniel Bryan for the main event of the upcoming WWE Payback pay-per-view. If those plans fail, WWE already set the stage for their alternative option.

WWE’s “plan B” for the Payback show is to have Daniel Bryan vs. Kane in a Buried Alive match. WWE set things in motion to go that direction at Extreme Rules, as that was said to be the reason that Kane sat-up at the finish of last night’s main event. The feeling was that they needed that last scene in case they are forced to go in that direction.

I shouldn’t be ok with this match, but I can’t but be interested init.

i would be down for monster Kane taking the belt off Bryan. Kane needs one last run as champ. A monster type heel run. He has been with the company for years, he earned it.

      • Xahas

Yes he earned it but I don’t think he wants it. That guy is loyal to the business and that means putting young talent over.

      • Matt Gallagher

Not quite yet. Maybe around battle ground to about TLC he should be champ. Nice little 3 month transitional champion

    • CheapOp

Wait up…a Buried Alive match is the BACK UP PLAN HERE? Raise your hand if you’d prefer to see Batista vs Bryan? Can’t-believable.

I like the buried alive match, even tho I think a Batista match vs Bryan would be ok as well. But man, I really wanna see this buried alive match

    • SomeInternetGuy

Bryan’s already being buried alive………..OH I TOTALLY WENT THERE!!!

    • Xahas

I like Plan B much better.

Well if they were gonna go with Batista/Bryan, they shouldn’t have had Batista be the one getting pinned last night. It would make little sense for him to challenge the champ if he got pinned last night… Bryan/Kane needs another match – last night cemented that. Buried Alive? Ah, meh… I guess. Inferno is another possibility, I guess. Kane saying Bryan burned him, and he wants ‘payback’.

Since the WWE is PG, we would get a ring of fire match. I doubt we would see an inferno match since they wouldn’t let Kane get set on fire before.

        • http://www.rabidpictures.com yrabadi

Yeah, ‘ring of fire’ – true. Though I question if him going through that flaming table last night was really ‘PG’.

          • pwnez

Yeah but Kane was never on fire and they had fire extinguishers out within seconds as before they actually let Kane run up the ramp, Lol.

            • http://www.rabidpictures.com yrabadi

Yeah I know, I remember those times when Kane was actually ‘on fire’. Still, him going through a flaming table took me back a bit.

    • raVen

can we move Bryan past the authority? it’s ran it’s course time to move forward

    • Bryan

I would prefer Bryan vs Kane again as Batista isn’t in the best shape and I don’t think Bryan could get that much out of Batista plus Bryan and Kane have good chemistry plus Kane deserves it as he’s worked so hard for 17 years and his feud with Bryan has more potential.

      • Xahas

You do know who will be buried in the match?

    • galactus the world eater

      Bryan’s hype is all gone

    • Triple H’s Shovel

People can say what they want about Kane, but I really enjoy watching him in the main event. It’s not going to be long until he retires and he’s really the only full time active wrestler left from the late 90’s attitude era. Last night’s match with DB sort of brought back memories of that. Watching him being carried on the forklift reminded me of him almost running over Raven with a golf cart at Wrestlemania 17 for some reason.

They really should use a different mask for him though.

    • Kjhaltz

As much as I hate to see Bryan lose, it would be funny to see HHH help Kane use a shovel to bury him.

    • http://www.facebook.com/itsjustrusso Michael Russo

Seriously! How many times are we going to bury Kane?

    • BMPunk

That’s a Summerslam caliber match. But I’m not sure if that feud can go for that long.

    • Noah

If WWE goes through with the Buried Alive match at Payback,This better not be how Kane retires being Buried Alive by Daniel Bryan.Kane should have another title run before he retires.

    • Dixie Carter

So after being shoveled for years, finally live on PPV they are going to have Kane finally bury him. It should really be HHH burying him

    • rashad jackson

looks like kane is getting ready to retire…..will he come back IF he gets buried? or will that be the end of him and his character n done with wwe? cuz it was reported he is retiring soon so maybe this is his goodbye note give him one last run with his former tag partner and bang

    • Triple H’s Shovel

Goldust has been off and on with WWE for years. Big Show left WWE for a year in 2007 and has sometimes been off and on while under contract. Mark Henry was sent back to OVW and did strong man comps from 2000-2001 and has been off and on a lot while under contract.

    • http://www.rabidpictures.com yrabadi

Well, I don’t think we’ll ever see ‘original mask’ Kane again. Yeah, he’s sleeveless so burning of the arms are out. But I remember another Inferno match from back in the day where they put his boot/lower leg on fire – so that was still an option if they wanted to.

Buried Alive is a good way to get him off TV for a while though – no doubt. Should he return, yes, I would suspect it would be in epic fashion. It’s cool to see we’re still talking about Kane almost two decades after his debut… crazy.
