trish-stratus

WWE.com has an article up looking at ’ Hall of Fame induction, including comments from today’s Divas. Here are some highlights of what the following Divas said about Trish’s legendary career:

Lilian Garcia: “She totally deserves this. She worked incredibly hard and made such an impact.”

Natalya: “Trish was a pioneer for the Divas. There were women that came before, but she broke all the barriers and all the stereotypes. Certainly, I’ve been extremely inspired by my family, but when I decided I wanted to be a lady wrestler, it wasn’t because of my family. It was because of Trish. … She is one of the reasons I’m doing what I’m doing today and I couldn’t be happier for her.”

Kaitlyn: “It’s so cool to see. She made such a huge impact and she is so iconic. Everyone aspires to have just a little bit of what Trish had.”

Aksana: “I’m really excited for her. I want to say congratulations to her. She’s my idol.”

AJ Lee: “To anyone in WWE, she’s an inspiration. She has helped us break a lot of glass ceilings. It’s really cool to have someone from our generation — that’s actually classified as a ‘Diva’ — to be in the Hall of Fame.”

Whenever i look at women of perfection…i can’t help to think of the type of men they let tap it. I wonder if shes into average dudes lol.

      • d1l2g3

        no, probably not

        • G.I.R.L.

          Her husband was very average.

          • Kris Mystery

Was? If it’s “was” then i’m guessing she realized she can do better than average.

          • G.I.R.L.

I believe they’re still together; she doesn’t come off as the person that wants to date the male equivalent of her. Most hot chicks don’t like equally hot guys; chicks are more concerned about what the guy is bringing home and how he’s going to help provide for her home life, not whether or not she can enter him in the mister universe competition.

I miss the 90’s and early 2000’s female wrestlers. I remember when Trish sent Lita crashing off a fu*king ladder into a table. Those girls took pumps back in the day. Their matches lasted long too. What the hell happen? How did we go from the Trish and Lita talents to what you see on TV today? Those chicks were real role models to women. They sent the message that you can be sexy and tough. Love it. Miss it. Want these days back.

Ivory vs Tori I Quit match in 1999 i think it was… now that was good!

I just hope Lita gets the same level or respect when she goes into the hall of fame.

      and not another Ho sale!

I agree. Lita was stellar as well. Really a pioneer on the high flyer front. I really think she and Trish would be 1 and 1A if not for some of the trouble Amy has gotten into in the past. Her time will come I think!

I’m so happy that Trish is going into the hall of fame. She was an inspiration for me growing up. She is my favorite women’s wrestler of all time. She worked hard, took bumps and was entertaining. The divas now are boring. The wwe sticks aj down our throats and don’t see the big deal with her. The divas today don’t measure up with trish or lita. So proud of trish

    • G.I.R.L.

Trish was forced down our throats too; which is why everyone turned on her @ WrestleMania 22. AJ was being used excellently; not sure what they’re doing with her now.

      • zigglerdoll

Not everyone turned on Trish at wm22. I was rooting for her. I would. never root for mickie over trish. Trish is awesome. As for aj never liked her. She pouts and looks like a 12 yrs old. The difference between trish and aj is that trish had the star quality-she’s beautiful, tough, can wrestle and was entertaining. All aj has done is kiss a bunch of dudes and act crazy.

there’s wrestlers from the 80s that are still not in the hall of fame

  • SonofSheik81

WWE is trying to rebuild the Divas division. I think in Kaitlyn and Natalya they have a good start. In order for it to get back to the level where it was, you need 4-6 legitimate title contenders. I’m hoping more is on the way from developmental, because it’s not going to be Aksana or Rosa Mendes.
