Cena Bleeding At Bragging Rights Causes Panic Backstage

Cena Bleeding At Bragging Rights Causes Panic Backstage

During last night’s Iron Man match at Bragging Rights, a spot where John Cena got busted open caused a lot of commotion backstage.

The incident happened when Randy Orton hit Cena with a microphone and started Vince McMahon ordered Cena to be cleaned up immediately after seeing the blood. WWE’s John Laurinaitis along with trainers rushed to ringside to clean him up, as WWE currently has a very strict “no blood” policy as part of their TV-PG programming initiative.

With their first attempt, Cena wasn’t aware what they intended to do so played babyface and mounted offence against Randy Orton. The cut was finally glued shoot and cleaned up after the next fall.

Cena and Orton were scheduled to work among the crowd and WWE wanted to ensure there was no health issue with a bloody wrestler among fans. If it were to have happened, the issue would have been taken seriously by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission and likely used as more ammuniton against Linda McMahon’s senate campaign.

As the blood was unplanned, WWE decided to stop the clock during the bout as it wasn’t known how long the clean up operation on Cena would take.

Ok, the crowd part I get. But really, no more blood is fail. The crowd loves that stuff. It makes matches that much more epic. That’s why blood is possible in the games, and really well done in 2010, I must say.

Never thought of it when it happend but when WWe went public “on the stock market” it started the downfall of the product as we know it. Too many people to please… And couple this with Linda’s soon to be failed political endeavor, this is weak. Wrestling and blood ahve gone hand in hand for how many decades? Are you kidding me? I grew up on both the WWE(F) and blood in the 80’s.. It was a pretty PG gig then too.. a little blood added a lot to the show. My god, they’ll never let Flair wrestle there again if he wanted to… the man’s skin.. just busts open nearly on contact!

But seriously, this is stupid. And this might look bad on Cena and make the Cena haters vindicated that he’s a p**sy. And John’s juiced before, so it’s not his fault. I’m just getting sickened each passing day with WWE.. And I have been a dedicated viewer all my life and would make a point to never miss RAW.. and I am starting to miss shows here and there.. becuase I don’t care! Why should I? No emotional attachment…

No more blood…at all??? That explains why the Hell in the Cell ppv has no one blading. Even thought I thought that match was a spit in the face of what Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart did, the blood did add a little something to it. Come on, you can blow the guy up and throw him through electric components in the same match, but you can cut him? Wow. I agree with rowdysk316 on safety for the crowd. WWE has really lost touch with their product, and after the last TNA ppv and Turning Point coming up, I’m ready to stop watching Vince’s product completely.

  4. DMMDestroyer says:

Sorry for the typos, was in a hurry. *Even though I thought* and *but you can’t cut him*

  5. Harshil1st says:

NO blood allowed no wonder why the hell in the cell matches were not even as half as good as they used to be.
Bound For Glory was the better PPV this month but I was glad team smackdown! won

  6. Councilman says:

The WWE wonders why UFC is taking their fanbase. The WWE simulates actual violent acts and every now and then, someone gets hurt simulating those acts; well, someone’s going to bleed. And even so, they will show a small clip of someone’s surgery when they need their neck fused, or biceps/quad reattached. They have hypocritical ways that’s very much laughable.

They don’t want to show blood during a match but they will continue to body slam, suplex, kick, punch, and do other acts of violence upon the body. They should at least let it slid for PPV because a PPV won’t reach as many homes as a free on TV event will. Also, having blood during a “send off” match is a better way to end the feud. If the feud was that violent, that serious, then a tinsy winsy amount of life fluid could have been in order.

  7. Joey_218 says:

lOL he got busted open poor cena lol

  8. StylesisTNA says:

IDK if there is a need for ECW type of bleeding all the time attidude ,however ocasional blood adds that since of OH MY GOD HES BLEEDING. Props to John Cena wanting to continue, makes me gain even more respect for him.

  9. Miceman25 says:

This entire article disgusts me. Actually WWE disgusts me, not necessarily the article. I’m so sick of this TV-PG crap. It’s ruining what little interest die-hard fans still have in the product. Absolutely ridiculous.

…Oh and LInda McMahon is going to lose horribly. Her running is a complete waste of time.

  10. Ryan says:

I am at an utter loss for words that they did that! Unbeleivable. When he was first busted open I thought it was part of the show and it got me excited that maybe they realized a little blood was ok, and for the short period he was bleeding and it was running down his face and chest it really did add to the match. I almost felt a sense of relief that they allowed blood. Than once the pin fall occured and the guys rushed in to clean him up I nearly flipped out. I couldnt beleive they were actually cleaning up a wrestler in the middle of a match! How embarressing and it made the WWE look so weak! so after they cleaned him up they kept mentioning how cena was starting to bleed again from the would which made me feel a little better, so i assumed maybe the reason they cleaned him up was maybe the microphone or tv monitor connected a little to hard and they were worried and were just simply checking for a concussion or something which is fine I totally understand that, because you dont want one of your wrestlers competing with hat type of injury its very dangerous. Then I come to find out today Cena was simply accidentally busted open and because of this garbage PG rating they cleaned him up so none of the kiddies would see it and get scared. What a joke! it really makes me reconsider supporting this company, ive been a lifelog fan but this has gone too far. If you get to a point where your putting a stop to natural occurences of a wrestling match then its not wrestling anymore. The one silver lining ive seen in the past few weeks is theyve actually allowed the Rock and Snoop dogg to say the word “ASS” on the show , but if something that small is getting me excited than its pretty sad. They have such talent on the roster but because of the PG crap they cant make the storylines realistic because I guess according to the new PG WWE real life is too scary for the WWE audience

  11. Ice_Cold1 says:

I agree with the whole no blood thing is stupid and WWE being PG was one of the worst things that WWE cpuld have done it takes so much excitement out of it.

  12. K-Fist says:

Its crap like that thats made me proud I jumped off the sinking ship when I did to support the better (and real) UFC.

Man, WWE has watered their product down to the point theyre going to see a revelation pretty soon if they keep going the course they are with this. Im talking a negative revelation– very negative.

Ever since Vince has went senile, making the dumb senseless changes hes been making, Ive been boycotting WWE (and a lot of wrestling in general) in joining the MMA fans in saying that WWE is for sissies (to put it nicely), though I do now and then check out TNA on a rainy thursday night. From what Ive been seeing lately, theyve really been cleaning up their act a little bit since Jarrett and his glorified country club has been mostly oust by now.

Though bottom line, WWE has made become a huge anti wrestling fan more than ever with the stunts theyve been pulling in the recent couple years. I grive for the future of the wrestling business– i do, since Vince is going to end up driving his company into the ground and take the rest of the industry with him at this rate.
