In an interview with Frech PlayStation3 website Play3-Live.com, WWE superstar Edge gives an update on his health status following surgery to repair a torn achilles tendon . “I’m doing stairs on it now,” Edge said. “I started therapy. I’m on the long road to getting back. I’m on the road now. Before I wasn’t even on the road. I had crutches and I was in a cast, but now I can I can actually do some things like walk again and I can wear shoes.”
The former WWE World Champion asked whether he will be ready to return to action in time for WrestleMania in March, but he’s not so sure about it. “It will definitely be next year,” Edge said. “It won’t be anytime before next year. I would love to come back in time for WrestleMania and earlier, but it’s too soon to tell. It’s been four months. They said six months, so who knows.”
Before his injury, Edge had been teaming Chris Jericho and the two Canadians were WWE tag champions. Jericho cut some scathing promos on the Rated R Superstar shortly after his injury, setting up what could be a killer program in early-mid 2010 when Edge is healthy.
In his latest blog at JRsBarBQ.com, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross said the following about Edge’s health status:
“I think Edge being 100 percent by Wrestlemania 26 is going to be a photo finish and I hope that I am wrong on that assumption. Edge had taken his game to another level prior to his injury and he will no doubt return to the ring fresher and ready to turn more heads if he makes sure that he is totally healthy. Torn Achilles obviously cannot be taken lightly. Edge would arguably need to be close to ready by January to really be able to capitalize on the promotional, TV build up for Phoenix or at least that’s one school of thought.”

I have mixed feelings about Edge turning face,I would really like to see him feud with Christian.Hopefully they’ll at least tag team sometime in the near future.
I have a great way to bring him back, have Christian go to Raw or Smackdown and start a program with JeriShow, and then have Edge run in and make a save sometime, reuniting E & C. Have E & C trade the belts with JeriShow once or twice, and then have Edge turn on Christian once he is back to 100%, and then we can all finally have the Edge vs Christian set that has been waiting for years to happen. With these talented workers, this could progress over the period of six months or so, and not get stale.
By the time Edge comes back Jerchio will have finished his feud with big show(which is due to start soon) and will fight edge at wrestlemania if edge is ready to go by then.
An Edge and Jericho feud would be awesome.
I can’t wait till Edge is healthy enough to come back I don’t want him to come back too soon but I miss him like crazy
I would rather Edge wait until he’s really truly ready to come back than come back too soon and risk re-injuring the tendon and then having to retire as a result! I have been getting my fix of Rated R on DVD but it’s not the same as watching him (with or without Vickie Guerrero i like both of them) every week on smackdown
they actually said between six and nine months and that’s only if rehab and everything goes well we all know what the worst case scenario is.
i would like to see Edge back by WM 26, but i’ve been saying to friends for a while that he won’t be in action then. i see him making a big appearance and stares down Jericho, but he won’t be competiting. i am an Edge-Head so i say let him take as much time as he needs to get 100% before trying anything. all the best to Adam/Edge (eventhough i like Jericho too)
