WWE's NXT Generation

WWE NXT: The Next Generation

WWE NXT debuts on February 23rd and the company is promoting the new show as innovative and even revolutionary. There has been talk that WWE NXT will feature young superstars from WWE’s developmental system such as Bryan Danielson and Kaval (formerlyLow Ki) in a show that’s a hybrid of pro wrestling and reality TV.

Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) sent out a press release today discussing its involvement in NXT show, writing:

“With speculation rife regarding the imminent debut of WWE’s new television show ‘WWE-NXT,’ all FCW Superstars are sure to be at their best as they attempt to impress top brass
in WWE and secure spots on the new show’s roster. And with Edge watching over the evening’s proceedings, the stakes have never been higher.”

WWE superstar Edge will be appearing at Friday night’s FCW show in Melbourne, Florida and was quoted in the press release talking about Florida Championship Wrestling and WWE NXT:

“In a couple of years, the majority of the Superstars you see on the show this Friday will have been drafted up to Raw or Smackdown, so I suppose it is also a great opportunity for me to get the scoop on who I’m going to be facing down the line.”

A half pro wrestling, half reality TV based show huh? … I think I’m gonna like NXT, I just have this feeling. =P

However I won’t like it as much if they keep the God damn ECW title on there. SCRAP THE TITLE, whats the point of having the ECW title when there is NO ECW?!? xD

  2. ihatewrestlingfans says:

dude…the whole freaking point is that they’re changing the NAME and the format of the show. Why are you even bringing up them keeping the name?!

    jeez…

  3. uhavnosac says:

Because Ihatewrestlingfans, if you read the previous posted article about the future of the ECW title you would have understood why Radical would have posed that.

    jeez…

  4. Mccall101 says:

I think the ECW title will be the new hardcore title

  5. ldub612 says:

I sure hope this works and its something good because ECW & Superstars are terrible shows!!! Let’s hope NXT can bring back WWE television; because its been boooooooringgggggg!!!

  6. ihatewrestlingfans says:

then perhaps his comment should have been directed at the article concerning the uncertainty of the title’s future.

    jeez… :-)

Seriously though, seems like they’re finally moving in the right direction. Let the ECW title be retired and come up with a NXT title for the guys on that show to go after.

  7. Motormouth5150 says:

I think this will be an intresting show…if done correctly…I mean there are so many good young wrestlers that are in Developmental….I mean Lo-Ki, Danialson, Incognito, Super Nova, The Rotundos, The Uso’s even Ortunga will bring ratings( because of his marriage to Jennifer Hudson)…I mean Superstars was never sopposed to be a great show…because its basically Jakked, or Metal…They aren’t going to show pay per veiw quality matches on a WGN America where their top rated show is America’s Funniest Videos….The bottom line is basically this WWE is doing something TNA was doing Pushing their young stars, but now they are not…I honestly would not be shocked if WWE NXT has a six-sided ring because thats what the fans want, and they want young stars and wrestling matches…I bet you that wwe has a plan for a new ROH X-Division style matches on there also…So we shall see what will happen….I mean Reality TV is still big and wwe is striking while the iron is hot!!!
