MTV Mocks Batista, Vince Named On Most Influential” List

– At Monday’s WWE Slammy Awards, Batista interrupted Maria’s acceptance speech for Diva of the Year in what appeared to be a parody of the infamous Kanye West – Taylor Swift incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. “That’s great, congratulations, I’m really happy for you,” Batista said. “No disrespect, but let’s talk about the greatest award ever: The Screwjob of the Year award, which goes to me! I got robbed last night. I should be World Heavyweight Champion, and I should be up for the Superstar of the Year award.” MTV writer Kyle Anderson implied the joke is dated and has been done to death already on countless award shows since the VMAs.

Good, WWE needs to be called out on their lame duck comedy hard and oftern– WWE don’t know how to be funny (now that guys like Rock and Austin have left and Jericho has adopted a more serious character), and should quit trying to be something they don’t even know how to be and stick to what brought them to the dance– wrestling.
Not only was that dated, but that was entirely classless by Batista. Here’s a chance for Maria, who just got back from Celebrity Apprentice, and got rewarded by the fans for Diva of the Year, and Batista whined about his problem. Even Kayne would find that low. Maria deserves much better and deserves a lot of respect, both as entertainer and an athlete. What she got was hurt. Don’t get me wrong, Batista got hurt to, but don’t blame Maria, blame Teddy Long, blame Vinnie-Mac. I hope this would be blown under the covers, or that Batista would get a fine or suspension for what he did. But since this is wrestling, enforcement is worthless, and the better way just won’t work in the squared circle, just to please the ravenous fans for ratings.
i agree..i didnt think the comedy was funny, and that run in, wasnt called for..i had thought since a 3 hr show, would b great, but it was a flop for me..dx stuff was funny though

WWE should try and build up the young talent cause the seasoned wrestlers seem to be hamming it up so much that YES their comedy seems outdated dx and the whole nine yards.They have cryme tyme,Hart dynasty,Legacy and all kind of new talent just lame writers who feed us fans OLD crap.

Hey GlassMan… ummmm… Batista was SCRIPTED to “whine about his problem” and interrupt Maria. It’s all part of the act man. I’ve seen a lot of your comments and you seem to take a lot of what happens way too seriously. Kanye wouldn’t find what Batista did low because Kanye ACTUALLY DID interrupt an acceptance speech. Maria would have known about Batista interrupting her because… IT’S IN THE SCRIPT! Batista wouldn’t be fined or suspended for something that he was TOLD to do.. in the APPROVED SCRIPT!
WWE rarely has good comedy. All they had was that Hornswoggle/Chavo garbage. It was amusing at first, then it just got old. In fact, Hornswoggle himself just got old. Now he’s just constantly imitating DX. Chris Masters’ “boob dance” was pretty good, but it looks like they’re going to start wearing down on that too. You want comedy in the WWE? Give John Cena the mike more often. Tell Jericho to get that giant stick out of his butt and bring him back to the face side. Stop with the endless DX advertising. Really, these guys can bring a lot to the table comedy-wise if given the chance, and they’d be a lot more enjoyable than this nonsense that WWE has been shoving. The Kanye thing?
