WWE Signs NCAA All-American Heavyweight Clayton Jack

WWE has signed NCAA All-American heavyweight wrestler Clayton Jack to a three year developmental deal.

Jack was scouted last year by Gerald Brisco after attending a tryout camp in Tampa, Florida but turned it down because he wanted to complete his education at the Oregon State University. Now that he has graduated, he has accepted the offer and will report to NXT later this month to begin training.

“I am just really excited for the opportunity to work with the WWE,” Jack told OSUbeavers.com. “As far as goals go, I just want to learn as much as possible. Hopefully if I do well in the three years, maybe I can get an NXT title or move up to the WWE.”

Jack is known for being a very friendly guy, but he sees a different role for himself when he steps into the squared circle.

“I wouldn’t mind playing the heel, which is the bad guy,” Jack explained. “When you first start out you are always kind of the heel and then you work your way into being a face, which is a good guy. As much as I want to say it’s based on my personality, it’s also based on how well I can act.”

Jack’s collegiate wrestling record was 121-37 (.766), earning him two conference championships and All-American honors in 2012.

BROCK LESNAR!! jk, Brock was a man among boys when he was an amateur wrestler.

    • G.I.R.L.

      He actually wasn’t.

      • cappa37

umm… yes he was. This guy looks like a twig compared to Brock

I love the news. But lets hope for Lesnar and Angle more then Swagger.

    • askbillmitchell

      Angle probably Lesnar not likely.

      • cappa37

WOAH! Kurt Angle is one of the greatest ever… we’ll be lucky to get anyone half a good as Kurt Angle.

        • askbillmitchell

I wasn’t insinuating he would be as good as Angle. My argument was that he would more the Angle type due to his stature than a Brock Lesnar. Now if you want to compare and contrast Angle with Jack, I can do that. Angle is a machine and has an impressive pedigree (after all he won the Olympic gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck), but Jack is a gifted athlete and he has the aptitude and the physical ability to rival Angle. There will be a lot of tangibles that would have to be answered first before an adequate comparison can be drawn of the two obviously. Some of those intangibles include, work ethic, his persona (which if we take what he *Jack* says at face value, he seems to understand the business), his gimmick which he will have little to no input on and the list goes on and on. Nevertheless, he has the potential to become the next Angle, but that is completely up to him. He’s got his foot in the door, we’ll just have to see what he does when he’s officially on the other side of it.
