WWE Signs Japanese Star Naofumi Yamamoto (PICTURE)

The Associated Press is reporting that World Wrestling Entertainment has signed Japanese wrestler Naofumi Yamamoto to a multi-year developmental contract. The story is getting a lot of press in Japan.
The signing of Yamamoto is the latest effort by the company to continue building its business in Japan. Earlier this month, WWE held a festival in Tokyo to promote SummerSlam.
WWE Japan executive Ed Wells said, "We are thrilled about adding another Japanese talent to our developmental roster and look forward to his speedy and successful development."
Yamamoto will begin training as early as this month at WWE's developmental system, Florida Championship Wrestling. He is the second Japanese wrestler under contract (after Funaki).
