WWE's Jim Johnston Honored With 2008 BMI Award

World Wrestling Entertainment® Composer/Producer/Director of Music Jim Johnston Honored With 2008 BMI Award For Work In WWE® Monday Night RAW®
NEW YORK, New York, June 25, 2008 – Broadcast Music Inc® (BMI) the leading U.S. performing rights organization, honored World Wrestling Entertainment’s Composer/Producer/Director of Music, Jim Johnston, for his work on the number one cable program, “Monday Night RAW” which can be seen live every week on USA Network, 9pm/8c. Monday Night RAW broadcasts live 52 weeks a year- no repeats, and is watched by more fans than regular season basketball, baseball and hockey on cable TV.
This is the seventh time that Johnston has been honored with a BMI Award for his work with WWE Music.
Johnston is responsible for the composition and production of the WWE Superstar entrance music that can be heard on Monday Night RAW. His creation of themes have been associated with hundreds of WWE Superstars including Stone Cold Steve Austin™, The Rock®, Undertaker®, Chris Jericho®, Batista®, Mr. Kennedy®, and the WWE Divas. Over the years, Johnston has written thousands of entrance themes, enhancing WWE Superstar’s added characters and definition as well as electrifying crowds around the world.

BMI) is an American performing right organization that represents more than 375,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers in all genres of music and more than 6.5 million works. BMI has represented the most popular and beloved music from around the world for over 65 years. The non-profit American corporation collects license fees from businesses that use music, which it then distributes as royalties to the musical creators and copyright owners it represents.
The past year saw the release of the eighth volume of WWE: The Music Volume 8, and a greatest hits compilation of Johnston-composed songs from Monday Night Raw.
