YouTube Celebrity Says John Cena Denied His Photo Request

Ed Bassmaster, who has amassed over 230 million views on his hidden camera prank themed YouTube channel, stated Tuesday on Facebook that John Cena denied his request for a photo opportunity on Tuesday while riding a shuttle bus with the WWE Superstar at Tampa International Airport.

“So I’m at the airport in Tampa and I get on the shuttle bus. It’s just me and John Cena. I ask him for a quick pic and he says “I’m on my way home” without even making eye contact with me. Thanks John, it wasn’t for me. It was for my 4 year old little nephew. My three year olds John Cena doll is going in the trash when I get home,” wrote Bassmaster.

Bassmaster issued an apology Thursday shortly after news broke that Cena had filed for divorce from his high school sweetheart and wife of three years, Elizabeth Huberdeau.

“Never judge a book by its cover. John Cena filed for divorce today. Evidently he had good reason to be short and unpleasant towards me. I apologize for my statement, and the doll will not go in the trash,” he wrote.

    Just because you are a celebrity doesn’t mean you have to make everybody happy. Growing up I learned why heels like to remain heels, they get to keep more control over their life.

      That’s the advantage of being a heel. If you are a heel, it is already given that you’d be prick to the fans. But, when you are a face, you are expected to be a saint. One wrong move and they will brand you as asshole. Just look at The Miz, Chris Jericho, DZ and other heels, they could get away with their rudeness and manage to laugh it off. While faces like Cena, Orton and Punk, woke up in the wrong side of the bed and be a prick the whole day, it’s a different story.

    Cena has had a pretty crappy week by the sound of things, so I think he deserves a pass on this one. Regardless, Cena could have handled it better. No matter what the circumstances, not even making eye contact with the guy is pretty rude.

      Why is everyone giving Cena a pass for being an ass? All the dude asked for is a picture! It only takes a second to hide your emotions and take a picture. He wasn’t trying to spend the day with him or nothing. Does that mean if you’re on the street having a bad day and no one knows but you, and someone asks you to do something, that gives you aright to be an asshole too?

    Its worth remembering that these are real people with real shit going on. It’s easy for all of us to forget that and expect the “Character” we see on TV all the time!
    I respect Cena hugely and we all know how much good he does off camera, dude deserves the right to have a bad day once in a while.

    I really disagree with people saying that celebrities should learn how to cope with circumstances. They are also humans. We have problems, they have problems. We fart, they fart too. Aside from their talents, I know these celebrities owe their status to the fans. But, we the fans should also know the boundaries and provide these celebrities who entertained us for years the privacy that they deserve. That’s the reason why I despise paparazzis. They earn a living by meddling with some people’s lives. If Cena yelled someone, I won’t be surprised. He’s on a rocky situation. Give the guy a break. He’s no saint.

Let’s say a good actor is a douche in real life but we cannot change the fact that he’s a good actor. Personally, if a celebrity is condemned for murder, I’m not a fan of him in real life but still I would praise his/her works on screen.

    It’s not like Cena told the guy to F off or anything. He just mentioned he was on his way home. Also, Cena has no bad history of doing this type of thing with fans often. The guy was a jerk for saying that on his facebook about him. Of course his personal issues make his response understandable but the first two things, a polite response and the fact he doesn’t normally do this, are enough reason for him not to receive a response like that on facebook. We are all human and deserve a break from time to time.
