Zack Ryder on how he would make a great GM for Saturday Morning Slam: I’ll Zack it all up. Maybe I will bring out my internet championship and have it defended on the show. I’ll make sure some of the hottest divas are on the show. Make sure some of the best matches are on the show. It’s a party and fans want a party every Saturday morning. They want to have fun. School is out, you have a couple of days off. They want to party, so come to Saturday Morning slam, I’ll give them a party.

On WrestleMania in the NY area: It’s cool that it’s in New York/New Jersey, basically in my backyard, but I’m not on it. It kind of sucks. I got all my friends and family who are going to be there and they are expecting to see Zack Ryder on the show and as of now he is not on it. So that part of it is heartbreaking. It’s still going to be a great show with Rock and Cena. It’s going to be one of the best WrestleManias of all time.

He talks about his rough year in 2012: 2011 was the rise of Zack Ryder. I started my YouTube show out of just frustration. The beginning of the year I was a nobody, not even on TV. Through the course of the year from doing the show and being active on Twitter and on Facebook, and then ending the year as U.S. champion. I really thought 2012 was going to be my year and as you saw, it really wasn’t. Kane threw me off the stage and off loading docks. Eve kicked me in the bro-nuts at WrestleMania and from there I was just forgot about. I was losing all the time, barely doing anything on the shows. 2013 better be different. It can’t be worse than 2012.

The demise of Z! True Long Island Story: Well when I started it, I knew something had to be done. I hated my stock in the WWE. I was a nobody. I wasn’t on the shows. I didn’t even have an action figure. I didn’t have an 8×10 promotional photo. So as far the YouTube show, in February of 2011, my parents got me the flip camera for Christmas. I really didn’t know what to do with it. Maybe I will just start a YouTube show and it kind of took off. I did it for a hundred weeks straight. It should have ended after 50. After I became the U.S. champion, WWE came to me and said “we want to move this to our YouTube channel.” I was really hesitant to do it and I should have said no. That was the end of the Z! True Long Island Story in my opinion right there when I made that switch to the WWE YouTube channel at around episode 51. The fans just assumed I sold out, when I was still doing all the work and putting it on their channel and they instantly turned on it. Then WWE was editing it and taking things out., even though they said they weren’t going to touch it. Then it just became a job and not fun. For the most part the last 50 were horrible, but the first 50 changed the business. Now Raw is all about social media and Tout, and Facebook, and Twitter. They weren’t like that before Z! True Long Island Story.

Was the WWE open to him doing his own show?: I was so under the radar that the WWE didn’t even know the show existed the first two weeks. Nobody knew I was doing it. I thought there was a chance I would get fired over some of the things I was saying. I just didn’t care. Steve Austin was one of the guys in the beginning who told me that “hey that was great and keep it going and keep pressing buttons. Get your voice out there” Steve was a huge help. I knew this show had to take off or I was going to be fired. One or the other. It was going to either help my career or get me fired. It got me noticed. It helped my career. I don’t regret doing it at all.

Wwe why you sleep on zack Ryder!!!

  • steel town 412

    because he is a bum!

  • 7 year old boy

Woo Woo Woo You Blew It!

    • Jeremy-County Roberts

he did not blow anything. he has a fan base, he was getting huge pops. WWE just does not know how to use the guy. They have that same problem with many other talent. All underused.

      • jccox01

It’s because that shitty Jersey Shore gimmick.

        • Fact Check

Zack Ryder debuts with the “guido” gimmick- May 5, 2009. Jersey Shore, a show following the lives of “guidos,” debuts- December 3, 2009.

          • Jeremy-County Roberts

THANK YOU. so sick of hearing people say Ryder copied the Jersey Shore.

          • jccox01

I never said he copied Jersey Shore, I’m saying it’s a shitty gimmick.

          • Jonny Mick

If anything, we should be calling “Jersey Shore” the “Zack Ryder Appreciation Program”

          • Captain Obvious

That’s funny because of the similarities between Zack Ryder and Jersey Shore

          • Backstreet Bungalow

Suck it up pussy! Whether it was copied or not the gimmick sucks just like your profile pic. He had John Cena, the face of the WWE, backing him up but management still couldn’t give a shit about Ryder. If he has a problem he needs to grow a pair and speak up and I don’t mean on youtube

          • Jeremy-County Roberts

LOL THE FUCKER TALKS SO MUCH SHIT. Kill yourself you homo.

          • JamieEvsxx

people must be getting mixed up with Robbie E…=P

      • guest

        Shut up.

      • Cujo999

WWE pushed him to the US title, and then they realized that his in-ring work still isn’t up to par. He has a niche as a comedy wrestler, but really, that’s it. There’s absulutely nothing about his gimmick, persona, or in-ring ability that says he’s a guy who should be taken seriously. He’s not even as good of an in-ring performer as other, more over, comedy wrestlers like Santino or The Hurricane.

  • Pozessed

I think it’d be good for him to be on Saturday morning slam as the GM. Having the internet championship would be good too. I think he should somehow be in the tag team division though.. Maybe back with Curt Hawkins?

    • WWEFan4Life

I agree, Ryder isn’t getting the push he deserves, having him be the GM for SMS doesn’t have to be a huge massive thing but enough for him because then fans would finally see him return (Well, not return but you know what I mean) and Ryder in the tag division could work maybe with an NXT star like Aiden English, that would be better for everyone because then English could learn more about being in the WWE and progress in his career and Ryder can finally get back into the speed of things in the WWE + WWE will get more views, because of Ryder. Thats what I want to happen anyway.

      • Pozessed

The thing is.. He has a fun gimmick and because Saturday morning slam is aimed at the kids even more then he could get pretty over I suppose.

        • WWEFan4Life

Yeah, and even though he entertains kids, he can entertain adults just as much and that’s why he has lasted for as long as he has. The only downside of him being the GM of SMS is that fans in Britain will not be able to see him as much because SMS doesn’t air in in Britain.

          • Pozessed

One site for you my friend.
I’m in Britain and that is where I watch wrestling.. To be fair, Ryder is decent, he has got talent but his gimmick doesn’t really appeal to me but I do remember my younger cousin (he is about 11) liking him for his gimmick etc which is why I think a show aimed more at an audience that age would be more suited for him.

          • WWEFan4Life

Thank for the site, man, ill be sure to check it out.

That is true, I agree with you though Im just saying that Ryder might be better of on SMS but older fans who do like him might not be able to see him as much.

  • If Ya Smeeellll

Candy ass Jabroni, This punk ass bitch is lucky he never went one on one with the great one. The Rock would have slapped the taste out of his mouth and kicked his monkey ass back to Long Island.

    • Sisisi!

  • WooWooWooYouAreUseless

And now look where he is. It’s still accomplished nothing.

  • GMpunk

I think he would be booked for Wrestlemania if he was a better wrestler.

    • Andrew Campbell

He’ll probably be booked in some pointless Battle Royal on the WrestleMania pre-show.

      • GMpunk

        My thoughts exactly!

  • wwetnadudez

Zack started his push out of frustration on youtube like he said, well social media is growing so refresh yourself, reinvent and train to get better in the ring. I don’t necessarily like the guy but last time I went to a WWE show ( a while after his push ) the crowd still went crazy for him.

    • Andrew Campbell

The guy is definitely still over to an extent with the crowd and gets decent pops. God knows why though. He needs to ditch his goofy gimmick if he ever wants to be taken seriously.

  • Sisisi!

    Time for a new gimmick…..broski.

  • beatskeetskeet

He is still employed? Well maybe his stock is in the house shows as enhancement talent thats as far as he is going to get.

  • Oreial

who cares about you zack, nobody. You a re gonna be on wrestlemania… on the pre show over the top rope battle royal

    Zack who….?

  • John Cena vs. Hernandez

I’d like to see one match be booked for WM. And that is John Cena vs. Hernandez. Super Cena vs. Big SuperMex. Two big unstoppable bastards colliding in the middle of the ring like two bulls. And then I want to see Hernandez pick John Cena up and give his corny ass the border toss and win. Power vs. Power… CENA vs. HERNANDEZ at WrestleMania !

    • Coltcabunny

“…and the winner of the “ non-sequiter of the week” goes to…”

  • nightmare from hell

i was actually looking forward to seeing Zack Ryder vs Dolph Ziggler

  • Kings of Wrestling

Zack will never get pushed because he was not Vinces creation. Zack became a star on his own.

  • Josh Foley

well he isnt a good wrestler, he isnt worthy for a wrestlemania shot, unless it was the preshow or dark match

    • lunchbox87

      better than Cena .. FACT

  • Noach

(cue picture of Zack) “This is zack ryder” (cue picture of box with WWE scratch logo on it, butting up to the picture of Zack, but not moving it) “This is wwe not pushing Zack Ryder”.

  • some dude

they should have brought Big O to be ryders enforcer.

  • guest

Really can’t wait until Zack is finally released and out of our faces! He’s become nothing more than a sniveling whiner! He’s lucky to even still be with WWE at this point, so shut up and take what you get, Zack.

  • Erik

There’s only so much you can do and only so far you can go with his current gimmick.

  • lunchbox87

I like ryder i hate seeing how much hate he gets ion here and other places .. the guy can not be blamed for his gimmick its not up to him .. the guy is good in the ring and can work the mic the crowd loves him when he was being pushed as the US champ he was over .. when WWE put him in the middle of the Kane and Cena story that hurt him by having Cena always saving his butt . and ppl tell him to shut up oin twitter and stuff . the man is not happy with where he is and he is trying to do something about it i can understand him being upset about not being in WM seeing how it is in his hometown hes not happy with just sitting in the back he wants to be out there to put on a show

  • A. Nad

Thanks god we have been spared from this stupid Woowoowooo
