Roman Reigns’ NFL Career May Have Ended Due To Health Concerns

3

Last night on Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns addressed thousands of people inside the arena and millions at home to say he is battling a serious illness. He mentioned he has been battling Leukemia for 11 years and it has recently returned.

WWE does not seem to have publicized Reigns’ previous health struggles but an article from 2015 featuring one of Reigns’ college football teammates, Calvin Johnson, indicates Reigns may have had to cut his NFL career short due to battles with a serious illness.

Johnson and Reigns played together at Georgia Tech in 2006. The article references Reigns having gone undrafted but getting a chance to play with the Vikings. The article then references a serious illness Reigns was dealing with cut his NFL dream short.

“As a free agent, Anoa’i got a shot with the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars, but a serious illness forced him to take some time off,” the article reads. “After spending a season in the CFL, it was clear the NFL dream wasn’t going to happen.”

Roman Reigns’ Health Concerns

This was around 07-08 which matches up with the 11-years-ago timeline Roman referenced last night on Raw. Reigns’ final year in football was 2008 with the CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos. The Edmonton football team is the rival of the Rock’s former CFL team, the Calgary Stampeders.

Becky Lynch On If She Is Concerned By Fans Cheering Her

1

SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch recently took part in a Q&A session with Baltimore Sun to promote this Sunday’s historic Evolution PPV where she talked about a number of things.

Becky first talked about her recent heel turn at the SummerSlam PPV and when asked how the moment was for her, the Champion said that it was incredible to know that the people felt her frustration.

Continuing on the topic, she was asked about all the heelish things she has done since then and if it’s concerning to her that she hasn’t been able to get booed by the fans to which Lynch said that it doesn’t concern her:

“It’s not concerning. They’re reacting and they’re entertained. They’re enjoying the feud. It’s just a matter of what side that they’re on. Some people are on my side and some people are on Charlotte’s side.

I do see it on my Twitter feed and Instagram, that I’m getting a lot more hate as it goes on. But it’s OK, I’m going after what I want. The people that are behind me, they’ll stay behind me. The people that aren’t, well that’s fine. I’ll just go ahead and succeed in spite of them.”

Apart from this, Becky Lynch also talked about possibly competing against the Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series saying that she would love to.

Becky is currently scheduled to defend her Championship against Charlotte Flair in the first ever Last Women Standing match at the upcoming Evolution PPV this Sunday.

SmackDown 1000 Rematch Announced

The SmackDown 1000th episode saw Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles teaming up to face the team of Usos, a match which Bryan and Styles lost.

Now WWE has announced that these two will be competing together once again and face the Usos in a SmackDown 1000 rematch at tonight’s episode of the Blue Branded Show.

As noted before, this is not the only thing announced for the show as a Miz TV segment featuring Rey Mysterio and a match between Rusev and Aiden English has been made official as well.

WWE’s Official Statement On Roman Reigns

In one of the most shocking opening segments in the history of Raw, Roman Reigns announced that he will have to relinquish the Universal Championship due to his battle with Leukemia.

After the announcement, WWE released the following official statement from their site, revealing that Roman has made his battle public in an effort to raise awareness:

“Tonight on Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns (aka Joe Anoa’i) announced that he is relinquishing the WWE Universal Championship and taking a leave of absence from WWE as he once again fights leukemia, which had been in remission since late 2008. Reigns is taking his battle with leukemia public in an effort to raise awareness and funds for research in order to advance cures for the disease.”

Alexa Bliss Injured Again

7

Alexa Bliss had been out of action in past few weeks due to a reported arm injury. She only returned to action this past Friday night but word is that she is already out with another injury.

According to F4Wonline.com, Bliss suffered another injury while competing at Saturday’s Live Event from Hartford, CT. Word is that the former Raw Women’s Champion suffered a concussion during the show but the site was unable to confirm these reports.

It’s worth mentioning here that some Twitter accounts are claiming that Bliss broke her nose instead, though there doesn’t appear to be a solid source to these rumors.

Alexa Bliss had been out of action since the Hell In A Cell PPV last month where she challenged Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey for her title.

It was noted that she was taken out of an active schedule after she began complaining about numbness in her arm following the PPV.

There is no news yet on if Bliss will stay out action for long and how will it affect her announced match for the upcoming Evolution PPV but we’ll keep you posted.

As of this writing, Alexa Bliss is still scheduled to team up with Mickie James to face Hall of Famers Lita and Trish Stratus at the Women’s exclusive PPV this Sunday.

This week’s episode of Raw started and ended with awe as we saw some of the biggest wrestling stories of the year unfolding during the show.

The opening segment saw Roman Reigns delivering an emotional speech and revealing that he will have to relinquish the Universal Championship due to the return of leukemia.

The segment ended with Roman leaving the title in the ring and heading backstage with his Shield brothers. WWE posted this behind the scenes video of the now former Universal Champion greeting with other WWE superstars backstage after the revelation:

On the other hand, the ending of Raw saw Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeating the team of Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler to win the Raw Tag Team Championships.

However, this duo didn’t celebrate for long. Ambrose turned on his Shield-brother moments after the bout ended and left Rollins laying at the ringside after a vicious post-match attack.

After the show went off air, WWE posted the following video of Seth from their YouTube account in which he can be seen recovering from this shock and making his way back to the bakcstage area:

Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins Win WWE RAW Tag Team Titles, Big Heel Turn Takes Place

8

A big title change went down on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Providence, RI at the Dunkin Donuts Center on the USA Network.

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeated Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre to win the WWE RAW Tag Team Titles. This marks the second time that they have held the titles together. After the match, Ambrose turned heel by attacking Rollins and connecting with Dirty Deeds. He would later beat him down to end the show.

Although the company has yet to officially announce when the Ziggler and McIntyre will get their rematch for the gold, it’s likely to come soon, but with this heel turn, things are up in the air as to where this storyline goes. WWE could have Ambrose and Rollins vacate the titles or force them to defend them against Ziggler and McIntyre at their next pay-per-view event.

WWE presents the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on November 2nd, 2018 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Saud University Stadium and will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming days.

What are your thoughts on this title change? Was this the right time for the titles to change hands? Sound off in the comment section.

Paul claimed that there is only one person in that match that is worthy of being Universal Champion and that is not Braun Strowman. Heyman claimed that Strowman is not in Brock Lesnar’s league, which immediately led to Strowman coming down to the entrance ramp with a microphone.

Braun stared Heyman down as the crowd chanted “get these hands!”. Strowman shouted at Heyman to tell Lesnar that he is going to beat his ass all over Crown Jewel. Roman Reigns Relinquishes WWE Universal Title After Being Diagnosed With Leukemia

41

Roman Reigns had some heartbreaking news to share with the WWE Universe on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Providence, RI at the Dunkin Donuts Center on the USA Network. He revealed that he’s been living with leukemia for 11 years, and unfortunately it’s back. As a result, he is forced to relinquish the WWE Universal Title as he said that needs to focus on his family and his health.

However, he made it known that this is “no means a retirement speech.” He ended the segment by promising to fight leukemia and come back home to the WWE. He would lay the WWE Universal Title in the ring then walked up to the stage where did the Shield hand signature with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

Reigns was supposed to defend the Universal Title against Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman in a triple threat match at WWE Crown Jewel on November 2nd, 2018 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Saud University Stadium on the WWE Network. Obviously, WWE will have to make changes to this match. The title is now vacant and as of this writing, WWE has yet to comment on this upcoming title match between Lesnar and Strowman.

WWE issued the following statement:

“Tonight on Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns (aka Joe Anoa’i) announced that he is relinquishing the WWE Universal Championship and taking a leave of absence from WWE as he once again fights leukemia, which had been in remission since late 2008. Reigns is taking his battle with leukemia public in an effort to raise awareness and funds for research in order to advance cures for the disease.”

Sting On Why He Wouldn’t Consider Being WWE GM, Still Wanting To Wrestle The Undertaker

6

WWE Hall of Famer Sting was recently interviewed by 99.7 CYK to promote an appearance for an independent wrestling show. During the brief interview, he was asked about a potential WWE return and being fine with not working one more match in the squared circle under the WWE banner.

This is when the pro wrestling legend stated that he would only consider coming back against one opponent and that would be The Undertaker. “Anyone else, at this point, why?” He continued by stating that he always loved the idea of that match happening as he’s had many ideas in his head to the point where he speculated how to make it just a night that people would never forget.”

If you recall, Seth Rollins wrestled Sting for the WWE Title at the 2015 Night of Champions PPV event, which marked Sting’s last match and end of his career after he suffered a neck injury after taking a powerbomb in the corner.

Another question that came up was him returning to the WWE as a General Manager. He’s against that idea of bringing him back to television in that role because he thinks it would tarnish his legacy and mystique as a character.

Ronda Rousey Discusses Desire To Headline WrestleMania, Praises Two WWE Stars

0

Ronda Rousey was interviewed by Refinery 29 to talk about various topics including her WWE career. During the interview, the WWE RAW Women’s Champion gave some high praise to Sasha Banks and Bayley as she pointed out that they have taught her so much and have been these great examples of being effortlessly great at what they do.

Rousey started that they have been a great resource and made her feel so comfortable about coming to them and asking them questions. The champ continued by stating that she has learned so much from every woman that she ever been in the ring with.

“The people you are against [are the ones] you spend the most time with and you learn the most from. There isn’t a single woman in the locker room that hasn’t been instrumental to my success.”

Rousey, who makes her next title defense against Nikki Bella at the upcoming Evolution pay-per-view event, also spoke about her next WWE goal that she wants to achieve in her career with the company.

“We’ve never had women headline WrestleMania and I would love to be one of the women to do so, or at least be one of the women watching when it happens. It’s that one ‘first’ that has still been kept away from us that every single woman on the roster is ravenous for.”

Braun says the only words that need to come out of Heyman’s mouth right now are to tell Lesnar he’s going to get his ass kicked all over Crown Jewel. Braun says that Lesnar is going to get these hands, and then Drew runs down out of nowhere and boots Braun in the face. Drew leaves Braun laying and heads to the back before he gets up.

– Backstage, Drew is talking to Dolph Ziggler when he gets approached by an interviewer. Drew says he doesn’t believe in monsters, and when Braun comes to and clears the cobwebs in his head, he’ll realize he needed them more than they needed him.

– Elias is in the ring for a song. Elias says we’re all blessed because we’re here tonight, and he leads the crowd in a Walk With Elias chant. Elias tries to start his song, but Apollo Crews makes his entrance and interrupts.

Apollo Crews vs. Elias: Crews leaps and dodges some shots from Elias, then he levels Elias with a dropkick. Elias turns things around with a kick and a side headlock takedown. Crews fires up and dropkicks Elias down, then follows up with a standing shooting star press for a two count. Apollo follows up with a side walk slam for another two count. Crews misses a shot near the ropes and Elias comes back with the Drift Away for the three count.

Winner: Elias

– We see a pre-taped promo from Kurt Angle talking about how people used to debate if he was the best ever — and now he’s got a chance to prove he’s still the best.

– Elias is set up on the stage with his guitar to try doing his song again. Baron Corbin comes out to interrupt and tells Elias they have a lot of things to do tonight, and they just don’t have enough time on RAW to accommodate Elias’ performance. Elias protests and says the crowd wants to walk with Elias. Corbin says he’s the GM, and what he wants is more important than Elias’ little guitar performance. Corbin says Elias is fired if he doesn’t do what Corbin says. Elias protests and starts singing, but Corbin yells and tells him to cut it. Corbin starts talking, but Elias comes up behind him and smashes his guitar over Corbin’s back.

– Ronda Rousey walks out of her locker room with the Women’s Title over her shoulder. She’s heading towards the Gorilla position.

– Michael Cole is in the ring to host a contract signing for the Women’s Championship at Evolution. He introduces Nikki Bella, who is with Brie. Cole introduces the Champion Ronda Rousey next. Ronda slides in the ring and the Bellas roll outside. They talk some trash on the microphones, and Ronda says she didn’t come here to beat them up tonight, she just wants to watch Nikki sign the contract so she knows she’ll be in the ring on Sunday. Nikki and Brie get in the ring, and Nikki trashes Ronda for losses in her judo and MMA career. Nikki signs the contract and then slaps Ronda across the face. Ronda laughs and signs the contract. Ronda says on Sunday, she will end Nikki, and she gives her her word on that. Ronda grabs her belt and walks out of the ring, as the Bell twins look on.

– Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are shown backstage. They are asked about the emotion of tonight after Reigns’ announcement tonight. Ambrose says there are no words, and they’re going to do the only thing they know how to do and what they always did – win.

Nia Jax vs. Ember Moon vs. Dana Brooke vs. Tamina: The opening bell sounds and Nia and Tamina are the last two women early on. Dana comes back in and dropkicks them. Ember gets in the mix, but Nia fires up and drops everyone. Tamina comes back and dumps Nia outside, but then Ember comes flying off the top with the Eclipse on Tamina for the three count.

Winner: Ember Moon

– We go to another promo for the Evolution pay-per-view.

– Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre are backstage getting pumped up for their match tonight.

– Titus is on the stage with some women from the Susan G Komen foundation. He says while we’re just days away from the Evolution pay-per-view, there’s a different kind of fight they’re always having – the fight against cancer. He introduces a video package from the foundation showing their work with WWE. Titus introduces the women with him who beat breast cancer.

– Trish Stratus and Lita are in the back for an interview. They say they bring out the best in each other, and Mickie and Alexa don’t stand a chance. Alicia Fox interrupts and talks trash to them. They say since Alicia wants to be a messenger, they have a message to send back to Alexa and Mickie. Just then, Mickie attacks from behind and beats them down with Alicia. They brawl all over some production equipment as referees try to pull them apart. Trish and Lita end up getting the upper hand and they drop Alicia and Mickie. Lita and Trish tell them that’s show they do it in the Attitue Era.

– Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose make their way down to the ring next through the crowd.

Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins: Rollins and Ambrose start off hot in this one and they clear the ring. Ambrose and Ziggler go at it on the mat now until Rollins tags in and launches Ziggler outside. Rollins knocks Drew outside too and hits a suicide dive on them. Back in the ring, Rollins goes up top, but Drew knocks him down to the mat. Ziggler works over Rollins on the mat now and applies a sleeper. Drew comes in and trades kicks with Rollins, and both men are down. Ziggler runs in but Rollins throws him out. Rollins superkicks Drew and Drew falls outside. Ambrose goes outside but Drew drops him. Back in the ring, Drew misses a shot off the top on Ambrose, and Ambrose answers with a neckbreaker. Rollins tags in and comes flying in off the top with a frogsplash on Drew, and Ambrose hits a suicide dive on Ziggler to the outside. Rollins and McIntyre fight up in the turnbuckle, and McIntyre suplexes Rollins off the top. Ambrose comes in and kicks Drew in the corner, then rolls outside. Ziggler tags in and Rollins kicks him down. Rollins looks for the curb stomp but Ziggler dodges it. They grapple on the mat until Rollins gets Ziggler in the powerbomb position, but Drew interrupts it. Drew drops Rollins and then kicks Ambrose. Rollins throws Drew to the outside, then Ziggler runs up behind Rollins and his the Zig Zag for a two count. Braun Strowman’s music hits and he comes down the ramp, which distracts everyone. Rollins accidentally knocks the ref down in the commotion, and then Braun hits the ring and goes after Drew. Braun clotheslines Drew to the outside and then follows him down to the floor. Braun brawls with Drew into the fans and pummels on him. Braun chases Drew out of the arena area and back into the loading dock. Ziggler grabs his title belt and goes to hit Rollins with it, but Ambrose takes the belt form him. Rollins superkicks Dolph and then hits the curb stomp on him. Ambrose throws the ref back in the ring and tells him to count, and the ref counts to three. Rollins and Ambrose win and are the new Tag Team Champions.

Winners & new RAW Tag Tem Champions: Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose

– Seth and Dean hug after the match and celebrate with their Tag Title belts. Out of nowhere, Dean kicks Rollins in the midsection and hits the Dirty Deeds on him. As Rollins comes to, Ambrose gets on him and starts pummeling on him and yelling at him. Ambrose throws Dean out of the ring and beats him down over by the timekeeper’s area. Ambrose pulls back the protective padding on the concrete floor by the ring, and then DDTs Rollins on to the concrete. Ambrose hops the guard rail exits through the crowd as Rollins is left laying by the ring.

Mick Foley Explains What He’d Change In Today’s Era Of Pro Wrestling

1

There are a ton of differences between today’s era of professional wrestling and that of WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley‘s. Foley is a three-time WWE Champion and competed in an era full of elite professional wrestling talents. He shared the ring with the likes of The Undertaker, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and many more.

Today, top stars and fan-favorites within WWE include the likes of Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, and Seth Rollins. While today’s talent might not have the same amount of game-changing charisma as some of the stars of the Attitude Era, the quality of in-ring work certainly has evolved over the years. Foley recently addressed this during an interview with Wrestling Inc. When asked what he’d change in today’s era of professional wrestling, Foley provided an interesting answer.

He stated that he’d like to change the perception that talents need to do spectacular maneuvers inside the ring in order to have a good match:

“That is a tough question,” Foley said. “I think the perception that a match can only be great if it has spectacular moves or multiple false finishes. I think there’s more than one way to have a great match.

“I think Superstars are pigeon-holed into delivering what fans have come to expect of what a great match should be. So, I think it’s just a matter of conditioning people and having guys out there willing to take chances.”

Sasha Banks Teases WWE Women’s Tag Titles Announcement

3

It looks like news of potential WWE Tag Team Titles could be coming soon. Recently, WWE star Sasha Banks took over WWE’s Instagram story and hosted a Q&A session with fans. One of the questions asked to “The Boss” was how things are going between herself and best-friend Bayley.

Banks responded by saying things between her and “The Hugger” are great, and even teased a run at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles “whenever they announce them.”:

“There’s nothing better than teaming up with my best friend Bayley. We are “The Boss and Hug Connection,” and we’re coming for those Tag Team Titles – whenever they announce them.”

Rumors about a possible WWE Women’s Tag Team division have been swirling around for the past several years. It has been a huge expectation from the professional wrestling community ever since WWE kick-started its Women’s Revolution. With WWE Evolution right around the corner, perhaps an announcement regarding WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles is on its way.

What do you think about Banks teasing a WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles announcement?

Triple H & Shawn Michaels Confirmed For RAW Tonight

0

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW will serve as the go-home episode before this weekend’s Evolution pay-per-view (PPV). However, the men’s storylines for WWE Crown Jewel will also continue to be developed. One of the top matches on the Crown Jewel card is a Tag Team bout between Triple H and Shawn Michaels, taking on Kane and The Undertaker.

The match was developed from the conclusion of The Undertaker and Triple H’s match at the WWE Super Show-Down. “The Game” defeated The Undertaker while Shawn Michaels and Kane were at ringside. After the match, all four men celebrated in the ring together before Kane and The Undertaker attacked Michaels and Triple H. Now, D-Generation X will reunite in Saudi Arabia to face The Brothers of Destruction.

It will be WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels’ first match back in WWE since 2010 when he was defeated by The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. WWE.com has now confirmed both Triple H and Shawn Michaels will be on tonight’s RAW from Providence, Rhode Island. The two legends will likely be continuing to hype their match with Kane and The Undertaker next week.

What do you expect from Triple H and Shawn Michaels tonight on RAW?

Update On Roman Reigns Missing Weekend Live Event

5

As we’ve noted, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns missed this past weekend’s WWE live events. Reigns missed Friday’s show in Bangor, Maine at the Cross Insurance Center as well as Saturday’s Supershow in Hartford, Connecticut at the XL Center. He also missed Sunday’s WWE live event in Boston, Massachusetts from the TD Garden. As of this writing, “The Big Dog” is still set to appear on tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW.

In the midst of speculation regarding Reigns’ health, PWInsider has provided a reassuring update. It’s reported that Reigns was seen working out inside the ring earlier today ahead of RAW inside the Providence Civic Center. “The Big Dog” was said to have looked good and did not show any signs of an injury.

Reigns missing this past weekend’s live events could be as simple as him having those nights off. He is still slated to defend his Universal Title in a Triple Threat match against Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel.

What do you think about the rumors going around that Reigns is injured?

Alundra Blayze Visits WWE Performance Center, Hulk and Linda Hogan Documentary

1

– WWE Evolution will see the in-ring return of WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blayze (aka Madusa), who hasn’t wrestled for WWE in nearly 23 years after throwing the WWF Women’s Championship into a trash can on WCW Monday Nitro on December 18, 1995. WWE added a few former champions to the Women’s Battle Royal on Friday, including Blayze.

Ahead of her return on Sunday, Blayze paid a visit to the WWE Performance Center today.

Blayze also tweeted the following in response to a fan saying she’ll be the first to get eliminated from the Women’s Battle Royal.

– REELZChannel is airing a documentary on Hulk and Linda Hogan’s marital issues and divorce as part of their new “Irreconcilable Differences” series. Here is the synopsis for the episode, which premieres Thursday, November 1 at 9 p.m. ET.

“Hulk Hogan’s trademark bandana look and catchphrase “Hulkamania is running wild, brother” endeared him to fans. He became the most recognizable and well-liked wrestler in the WWE soaring to international fame and fortune. But life on the road presented challenges for the marriage between Hulk and Linda Hogan. Travelling upwards of 300 days a year proved difficult for the young couple and Hulk was not always the ideal, faithful husband. In 2005, the family begin filming their VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best but life in the ever-increasing spotlight only magnifies the couple’s issues. Hulk thinks Linda’s drinking is out of control and Linda’s obsession over Hulk’s suspected infidelities is becoming all-consuming. The couple finally splits amidst one of the biggest media and celebrity scandals ever. It seems that Hulk’s tawdry liaison with a friend’s wife has not only ruined two marriages but becomes a benchmark case for freedom of the press. Reality show life coach Patrick Wanis will provide new insight as to what really went on behind the scenes of Hogan Knows Best where he worked directly with the Hogan family.”

Cody Says He’s Transitioning To A New Role In Wrestling

3

Cody Rhodes lost the NWA World Heavyweight Championship back to Nick Aldis at the NWA 70th Anniversary pay-per-view. The Best of 3 Falls main event delivered in a big way and the show is getting strong reviews from fans who tuned in.

Cody posted a message on Instagram reflecting on the event and what’s next for him. The second generation grappler thanked the fans who attended and watched live on FITE.TV. Towards the end of his message, he also states that he is transitioning to a new role in pro-wrestling and implies he will be finishing up with Ring of Honor in the new future. Interesting.

Cody Rhodes Reacts to NWA 70th Anniversary

“It’s never pleasant losing a match, not to mention losing a title. However, last night in Nashville was the largest gross in Fairgrounds history (topped the TNA “asylum” 02-04 run, HOFers Dream & Jeff somehow ?) and I know a great deal of folks traveled far-and-wide to be there. That’s not missed on me. Southern rasslin’ and the cities that host it don’t often get that “buzz” like they should and it felt like the days of old last night.

THANK YOU to all those who attended and watched live on FITE. THANK YOU to all those who attended the meet/greet(we earned several thousand dollars that I’ll be donating to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation! Still waiting on final numbers).

As I begin a transition to a new role in pro-wrestling, I hope all the fans who’ve discovered the NWA recently…stay on board and continue to watch the likes of Nick Aldis, Avalon, Willie Mack, Jazz and many more. As I continue my remaining dates with the good folks at ROH, I’d like to thank them and The NWA for allowing me to cross imaginary lines and give the fans something special! -CR”

PROGRESS Announce NXT UK Superstar for Chapter 77

0

PROGRESS has announced the second title bout for Chapter 77. The show will be taking place on Sunday October 28th from the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London.

ATLAS Champion Trent Seven will be appearing in an ‘open challenge’ segment. This will be Trent’s first defence of the belt since he won it at Wembley Arena. Seven defeated Doug Williams with the stipulation that Williams must retire from proffessional wrestling.

PROGRESS also recently announced the main event for their Chapter 77 event ‘Pumpkin Spice Progress.’

PROGRESS World Champion WALTER will defend his title against New Japan’s Zack Sabre Jr. ZSJ won the Super Strong Style 16 tournament earlier this year. When Zack took the coveted tournament trophy he opted to main event last weekend’s Wembley Arena event. Unfortunately New Japan had an unannounced show in Los Angeles (Fighting Spirit Unleashed) which meant that both he and Will Ospreay could not compete at Wembley. Now that Zack is free to challenge he is taking the first opportunity to do so in October.

WALTER defended his PROGRESS World Championship against Tyler Bate recently at Wembley Arena. The Ringkampf stable member put on an instant classic with Bate that earned it’s place amongst some of the greatest matches in PROGRESS history. When the former wXw Unified World Champion faces ZSJ at the Electric Ballroom in Camden he’ll hope to find more of that magic.
