The October 2nd, 2018 episode of WWE SmackDown aired live from the Moda Center in Portland, OR. It was the final episode of SmackDown before WWE Super Show-Down. Here are 7 takeaways from this week’s show:

AJ Styles Vowed To Bury Samoa Joe Alive At Super Show-Down

AJ Styles SmackDown 10 2SmackDown GM Paige kicked off this week’s show and blasted Samoa Joe for his actions last week when he showed up at AJ Styles’ house. Paige stated that charges were pressed against Samoa Joe and that WWE management informed her that Samoa Joe should be fired.

The crowd chanted “no!” and Paige stated that she asked AJ if she should fire Joe. Styles dropped the charges and begged her not to fire Joe. AJ said that termination would prevent him from getting his revenge.

Paige announced that their WWE Championship match is back on at WWE Super Show-Down and then rolled footage of AJ Styles sitting in his living room. Styles apologized for not being at SmackDown tonight and said that he doesn’t think he would be able to perform tonight.

Fabulous Truth Picked Up A Victory

Carmella R Truth SmackDown 102

Shinsuke Nakamura Discusses Feud With AJ Styles, WWE 2K19, His Entrance

3

Shinsuke Nakamura recently spoke about various topics as he continues his run on SmackDown Live. The WWE United States Champion talked with TVInsider where he first began discussing the WWE 2K19 video game, which comes out on October 9, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

WWE 2K19 & His Entrance

Nakamura stated that the motion character actor did a good job in the game. Regarding his entrance, he stated that it came from what he was feeling from that day as there were times where he danced for concentration while other times, he did it to release his nervousness.

Nakamura added that everything has a meaning as he pointed out that with his fingers, he does it to get the nervous out as when he’s walking out to the ring as it makes his body tight, which is something he doesn’t want as he wants to fight with a normal feeling.

Feud With AJ Styles

Nakamura noted that he wanted to do more for the first time in WWE and thinks that he could show himself more against AJ. “But still, I liked getting the chance against AJ,” Nakamura said, looking back at their series of outings. “After WrestleMania I became the heel, but I didn’t show everything. Just a little bit.”

WWE RAW Viewership Hits All-Time Low Going Into Super Show-Down

10

Monday’s edition of WWE RAW from Seattle averaged 2.302 million viewers, down from 2.350 million the previous week. As a result, this marked the lowest viewed episode of the flagship show of the company.

Just last week, the show pulled in 2.35 million viewers, which beat out the previously lowest episode on July 9th with 2.46 million viewers. The episode was the go-home show for Saturday’s Super Show-Down. Here is the hourly viewership breakdown, courtesy of ShowbuzzDaily:

  • Hour 1: 2,500 million viewers
  • Hour 2: 2,325 million viewers
  • Hour 3: 2,081 million viewers

RAW had some notable moments including all members of The Shield being in action as Roman Reigns battled Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose vs. Braun Strowman, and Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre. WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey was in action action as well.

WWE also hyped the appearance of WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels where he cut a promo in the final segment about the singles match that will see Triple H battle The Undertaker at WWE Super Show-Down where Kane will be the in the corner of “The Deadman” while “HBK” would be in the corner of “The Game.” The end of this segment saw Taker and Kane beatdown Michaels and Triple H. In case you missed the show, you can check out the results here.

Despite WWE putting some together some intriguing segments for the show, this episode faced some heavy competition. The show had to go up against ESPN which was averaging 13.2 million viewers for the Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs game as well as Big Bang Theory on CBS in hour one.

WWE will attempt to rebound next week and historically, will get a boost due to the fallout from the Super Show-Down pay-per-view event. But, it will be interesting to see if there is a jump in viewership with this trend of lowest viewership in history happening back to back weeks.

Joey Janela To Miss At Least One Year Following Knee Surgery

3

Joey Janela provided an update on his knee injury and it’s the last thing we wanted to hear.  The Bad Boy has been keeping fans apprised of his condition after blowing out his knee last weekend during a match against Psicosis for Gamechanger Wrestling.

After being checked out by doctors last week, Janela posted this summary of exactly how bad the injury was:

  • Complete or near complete PCL tear
  • Complete tear of the MCL distally
  • Impaction fracture of the medical femoral condyle
  • Mild bone contusion of the lateral tibial plateau
  • Sprain of the fibular collateral ligament
  • Partial tear of the medial patellofemoral ligament
  • ACL sprain
  • Small knee effusion

Janela To Miss “At Least A Year”

On Tuesday afternoon, Janela revealed that he’ll be going under the knife next week. His surgeon informed him this was an especially bad injury. The operation will keep him out of action for at least one year. It’s hard to put a positive spin on the situation aside from the fact that the injury is not career ending and Janela has proven himself to be as tough as they come. We wish Joey Janela a speedy recovery.

ROH Glory By Honor Baltimore Main Event Announced

0

Ring of Honor will present the annual Glory By Honor event later this month. The Baltimore-based promotion has not only announced a championship match but also the main event.

First up is the main event, which will see ROH World Champion Jay Lethal defend his title against Silas Young. This is the first title defense for Lethal since beating Will Ospreay at the Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view event last weekend from the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The other match is ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions Bullet Club (Cody & The Young Bucks) defending their titles against SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpion Sky). For Cody and the Bucks, the trio defeated The Kingdom in Atlanta to win the titles back in July.

ROH holds the Glory By Honor: Baltimore event on Friday, October 12th in Baltimore, Maryland at the UMBC Event Center. The promotion will be announcing more matches for this card shortly. Ring of Honor will also hold the Glory By Honor: Philadelphia on October 14th at the 2300 Arena.

For those who plan on attending this event, you can buy tickets here. This event will air live for all HonorClub members on their streaming service.

Cody Rhodes: It’s “Pretty Possible” That Bullet Club is WWE Bound in January

13

Cody Rhodes is arguably one of the biggest stars on the independent scene right now. The former WWE Superstar is the IWGP United States Champion as well as the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion. Cody won both of these titles in an incredible September schedule. Rhodes spoke to WrestlingInc shortly after appearing at New Japan’s Fighting Spirit Unleashed event this past Sunday. Cody made the following comments regarding a potential WWE return.

“Everyone has different opinions and it’s hard to get the opinion of someone when it’s, ‘Hey what do you wanna do? What is the next thing you wanna do?'” Rhodes also referred to his colleagues in the Bullet Club stable and their future plans, stating that “There’s five of us that’s a core unit that plan to stick together and hopefully we can really do that. I don’t want to make any judgments as I’ve had a great time with these guys. I’d like The Elite to continue and I’d like to bring you guys something like an All In sequel.”

Performers Having “No Fear”

Cody also commented on performers having more power in 2018 than in previous years, stating that “there’s more wrestlers with no fear than ever before. I don’t fear anything. I don’t fear Vince McMahon, I don’t fear Triple H. I don’t fear Hunter [Johnston] from ROH. I don’t fear Gedo from [New Japan], I do the best job I can do and the guys I link up with do it the exact same way. And I think that’s good for wrestling.”

Rhodes finished the interview by insinuating that a WWE return in January is certainly not out of the question, stating that “Well my own promotion is still ROH. I know the big what-to-do is, oh, January 1 we are going to show up on WWE… Pretty possible.”

Cody becomes a free agent on January 1st.

Report: World of Sport Finale Rating Revealed, Will There Be a Second Series?

0

World of Sport held their tenth and final episode of season 1 this past weekend on ITV. The viewership data is in and again it’s not pretty. Episode 10 averaged 200,000 viewers (3.9% share), down 100,000 viewers from last week but also down a sharp 40% from Episode 7’s 500,000 viewers (5% share).

We need to revisit the sentiments from last week’s first show in the new 2:30pm time slot . It’s clear that the change from 5pm to 4:30pm played a huge role in the ratings drop from weeks 5, 6,7 to 8. With the ITV Evening News changing by 30 minutes the rest of the schedule had to follow suit. Again the number isn’t pretty to look at but a time change affects most programmes across many genres. This isn’t uncommon for WWE either, when special time changes occur for RAW and Smackdown this affects their numbers.

What Happened?

The numbers for WoS WERE steadily increasing, week 5 saw a height of 900 thousand viewers and an overall rating of 700k. Again the live tour for 2019 is an excellent sign of ITV investment in the show, both monetarily and in figurative terms.
In the end WoS/World of Sport suffered from a variety of issues. The constant time changes and lack of publicity beyond the wrestlers/personalities themselves did nothing to help build an audience on mainstream television. This final week saw a big main event for the WoS Championship between Justin Sysum and Rampage. The bout was billed as ‘pay-per-view’ quality and the heavily featured Sysum won the title, this was a steady build for a new up and coming star and he (Sysum) has great upside potential. The real issue is that finishing on a 200k number in your finale episode is in no way good for Saturday television.
The show should go on with a second series. The upcoming 2019 tour shows that there still enough value in the brand to build around. The likes of Will Ospreay will certainly need to be front and centre if the return of the show is to be successful.

John Cena Jacked Heading Into Superstar Show-Down, Coachman On Commentary Absence

John Cena Jacked Heading Into WWE Superstar Show-Down

John Cena has been preparing for his next match under the WWE banner and decided to show off his hard work in the gym while in China training with Jackie Chan for the Project X movie. Cena will compete at WWE’s Super Show Down event on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne, Australia where he’ll be teaming with Bobby Lashley against Elias and Kevin Owens.

https://twitter.com/JohnCena/status/1046887371516440576

Jonathan Coachman On Commentary Absence

Although Jonathan coachman has taken a reduced role on WWE television, that’s not a bad thing for not only “The Coach” but also for the fans. It was officially announced last month that to the surprise and joy of many WWE fans, Renee Young replaced Coachman as the color commentator for the flagship show of the company, Monday Night RAW. This has allowed Coachman to do other projects outside of the WWE banner but also kept him under contract as he’s hosting the pre-show for WWE pay-per-view events.

Recently, a fan asked Coachman on Twitter why he’s no longer on RAW commentary. In his response, he wrote, “I am doing ppv pre shows and other special projects. Trust me I will be on plenty. A lot of changes in the next year. Think big.”

Major UK Promotion Running Japan in January around Wrestle Kingdom

0

Fight Club: Pro has announced that they will be heading to Korakuen Hall in January. FCP is one of the top promotions in the UK. Fight Club has hosted several of Japan’s biggest stars over the past few years.

Usually based in their hometown of Wolverhampton, FCP has seen the likes Bullet Club’s Young Bucks & Kenny Omega facing British Strong Style in 2017 and more recent shows have seen Dragon Gate stars such as CIMA appear. CIMA recently faced WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne as part of their Project Mayhem weekender.

January in Japan is of course the biggest month of the year. New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Tokyo Dome show is an integral part of the country’s global exposure and now Fight Club will be able to join the festivities of that iconic event. The move to bring the UK style to Japanese shores in interesting. WWE’s WrestleMania event sees independent promotions from all over the globe descend on the host city and whilst Wrestle Kingdom is on a far smaller scale it is the ‘WrestleMania’ of New Japan’s year. Being one of the first ‘outside’ companies to run a show around January 4th certainly adds a new element to proceedings.

Janela was injured last weekend during a match against Psicosis for Gamechanger Wrestling. You can view footage of the injury here. He’ll be undergoing knee surgery soon and is expected to be out of action for 6-12 months.

Smackdown General Manager Paige has announced she will kick off tonight’s show by addressing Samoa Joe’s actions from last week. Joe showed up at the home of WWE Champion AJ Styles last week. Now just 4 days before Super Show-Down (less if you count the time change), what will Paige have in store for Joe?

Becky Lynch Planning A Surprise For Super Show-Down

Smackdown Women’s’ Champion, Becky Lynch, has some sort of surprise for Charlotte Flair. What it is will be revealed tonight.

“WWE.com has learned that The Irish Lass Kicker has a very special Super Showdown Surprise that she will reveal on SmackDown LIVE,” WWE stated about Lynch’s planned surprise.

R-Truth & Carmella vs Andrade “Cien” Almas & Zelina Vega

Not only are R-Truth and Carmella teaming together in the Mixed Match Challenge they will also be in a mixed-tag match tonight on Smackdown as well. They take on Zelina Vega and Andrade “Cien” Almas tonight.

Between Miz and Maryse, Daniel Bryan and Brie, Vega and Almas, and Truth and Carmella, there is quite an inter-gender tag division brewing on Smackdown.

Zelina and Carmella got into a social media spat this week after the Fabulous Truth lost on the MMC.

Shelton Benjamin vs Daniel Bryan

Shelton Benjamin called out Smackdown General Manager Paige this week, stating he was not getting enough in-ring action on Smackdown.

So Paige has given him what he wants, a chance to prove himself. Daniel Bryan and Benjamin will go one-on-one tonight. You have to wonder if Bryan’s Super Show-Down opponent, the Miz, will be watching closely.

New Day Reveal Recipe For Pancakes

New Day has been tag team champions so often that a little old upcoming title match doesn’t stop them from enjoying pancakes. While New Day will take on the Bar this Saturday, they will be sharing their secret pancake recipe during a segment on Smackdown tonight.

Matt Hardy Teases New Network Special With Pic From Set

2

While Matt Hardy’s in-ring career might be finished, his career behind the camera likely is not. The ever-creative Hardy brother is believed to have just completed filming on a WWE Network pilot from the Hardy Family Compound.

The pilot is expected to air as a type of Halloween special later this month and serve as a pilot for a series. Matt Hardy recently shared a pic from the set of “Broken Universe”:

Previously, WWE has used footage owned by Impact Wrestling for the Hardy brothers DVD. It’s possible the pending Broken Universe pilot is why Impact Wrestling officials were spotted in Stanford, Connecticut recently. That is only speculation, however.

The Hardy Saga

Since returning to WWE on April 2nd, 2017, Hardy has only produced one Broken Universe style segment. The Ultimate Deletion would main event Raw that night, however. His rival at the time, Bray Wyatt, ended up being thrown into the Lake of Reincarnation. Wyatt was then freed from Sister Abigail, who had been using him as a vessel for some time.

Matt Hardy is a former ECW Champion (WWE’s version), Cruiserweight Champion, Raw tag champ 3x, WCW tag champ x1, United States Champion, European Champion, Hardcore Champion, World tag champ 6x, and won the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy in 2018.

Last week, WWE confirmed that Batista will make his return as part of an Evolution reunion along with Triple H, Randy Orton and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

The SmackDown 1000 episode takes place on October 16th at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC. The belief is that the company load up the show to the point where they will bring in several stars from the past and the show will be similar to RAW 1000 back in 2012. Thus, expect more names to be advertised.

There is a former WWE Champion reportedly appearing at this show as well, which you can read here, but please keep in mind that it contains a spoiler.

Rey Mysterio’s WWE Return Date Revealed (Spoiler)

1

Rey Mysterio is scheduled to return to WWE programming on the upcoming SmackDown 1000 special, according to PWInsider. The historic show takes place on Tuesday, October 16th from Washington D.C. at the Capitol One Arena.

As noted last week, Mysterio recently signed a new 2-year deal with WWE. The agreement reportedly includes a stipulation that he can ‘give notice’ to the company at the 18-month mark.

Mysterio has made a few appearances for WWE this year. He made a surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble in January He was also at April’s Greatest Royal Rumble from Saudi Arabia in April. He is featured as a pre-order bonus character for the upcoming WWE 2K19 video game that comes out this month.

Mysterio has also made appearances on several non-WWE shows this year, including New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Dominion event in June and All In on September 1st.

WWE is stacking the deck for the SmackDown 1000 show. In addition to an appearance by The Undertaker, WWE confirmed last week that Batista and Ric Flair are returning for a reunion of the popular Evolution faction from the early 2000’s.

Just last month, WWE started teasing several dream matches involving big names which included Mysterio vs. WWE Champion AJ Styles. With Mysterio returning on SmackDown, it could indicate that he’ll be on the blue brand, but that remains to be seen as WWE could just want a big surprise and that’s why he’s appearing on this special episode.

Neville Returns At Dragon Gate Event In Japan (Video)

10

Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville made a surprise appearance at Tuesday’s Dragon Gate live event from Japan. He previously worked from the company between 2007-2012.

This was Neville’s first appearance at a wrestling show since October 2017, when he last appeared on WWE television. He remained under contract with WWE until this past August.

The former ‘King of the Cruiserweights’ is expected to resume using the name PAC, which he used prior to joining WWE.

Now that he is back in the ring, it will be very interesting to see what other companies he winds up working with in the months ahead.

Here are some photos and videos from Neville’s return:

Chris Jericho’s Takes A Dig At Boring Wrestling, McIntyre’s Post Raw Comments

5

Chris Jericho’s Cryptic Dig

The final segment of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw saw the Undertaker and Kane reuniting to put Shawn Michaels and Triple H down.

Interestingly, shortly after the show ended, the IWGP Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho sent out the following tweet stating that ‘wrestling is boring sometimes’:

While not confirmed, a lot of people are considering this to be the former World Champion’s reaction to the Raw episode. We’ll keep you posted if Chris Jericho clarifies his comments or if the story develops any further.

Drew McIntyre Believes WWE Doesn’t Need The Shield

Drew McIntyre defeated the Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins in a one on one match during the latest episode of Monday Night Raw. Though things didn’t end there as he and Dolph Ziggler continued the beatdown on Seth after the match was over

This attack caused both Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns to come out to make the save, but the numbers game caught up with the Shield, and it was the team of McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler and Braun Strowman who got the upper hand at the end.

After the segment, Drew was interviewed backstage. In the interview as seen in the video below, the former Champion talked about the Raw episode and explained why the company doesn’t need the Shield:

Renee Young Would Love To Be Raw General Manager

3

Renee Young was originally hired as a backstage interviewer for NXT, but she has climbed the ranks pretty fast and has now became a permanent part of Raw’s commentary team.

During a recent interview with the Mirror, the Raw Star talked about a lot of things, including how the commentary has changed over the years and more.

Talking about Dean Ambrose’s matches and segments on Raw, Young said that people know they are married and she has a little bit more info than the other commentators, but they try not to beat them over the head.

When asked if she would like to follow the footsteps of Paige and become the General Manager of Raw someday, Renee Young said that she would love to do that:

“Would I like to do that? Oh my God, actually, I would love to do that. The way that I’m watching Paige navigate being the general manager of SmackDown, it looks like it’s so much fun. Who gets to yell at Samoa Joe and kind of put a little bit of fear in his eyes? Not a lot of people get to do that. If that was an opportunity that came down my way, I would definitely wear that hat, that would be really, really fun.”

Would you like to see Renee Young becoming the Raw General Manager somewhere down the line? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

NJPW King Of Pro Wrestling Card Announced

0

New Japan Pro Wrestling has released the full card for their upcoming event, King Of Pro Wrestling. The event takes place on October 8th in Ryogoku Sumo Hall.

IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match: Kenny Omega vs. Cody vs. Kota Ibushi
G1 Briefcase w/Wrestle Kingdom Title Shot: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Jay White
IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship Match: KUSHIDA vs. Marty Scurll
IWGP Jr. Tag Team Title Match: Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Jushin Thunder Liger and Tiger Mask
• EVIL vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
• Kazuchika Okada, Toru Yano and Roppongi 3K vs. Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, BUSHI and a mystery partner
• Tomohiro Ishii, Hirooki Goto and Will Ospreay vs. Minoru Suzuki, Taichi and Takashi Iizuka
• The Young Bucks, Hangman Page and Chase Owens vs. Guerillas of Destiny, Bad Luck Fale and Taiji Ishimori
• Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma vs. Juice Robinson and Toa Henare

Rare Triple Threat

NJPW has previously only had one triple threat match for the IWGP Heavyweight title. Throw in Kenny Omega’s Golden Lovers partner, Kota Ibushi, into the mix alongside current NWA champion, Cody, and you’ve got yourself an intriguing main event steeped in further Bullet Club complications – one that bucks the trend previously set by NJPW.

It was only recently that Cody and Omega were able to accept each other, despite their differences, after a brutal civil war over leadership of the Bullet Club at NJPW’s G1 Climax Special, this past July.

Reinserting the newly crowned NJPW US champion into the IWGP Heavyweight title scene at this juncture is an interesting decision – one that could have a reverberating impact within New Japan going forward.

Vince McMahon Overseeing Plans For A Tiered WWE Network

0

We have been hearing about WWE possibly implementing a tiered system to WWE Network and adding footage from Independent promotions for a while now, but it appears that the company is finally working towards these changes seriously.

Per PWinsider, with the new TV deals in place, Officials are now focusing on further developing the Network, with Vince McMahon, alongside Kevin Dunn and company’s Chief of Staff Brad Blum overseeing the whole process.

According to reports, the officials including McMahon are working to tweak the company’s strategies for original programming, in order to implement their long-planned tiered system to the streaming service and bring other interactive aspects to it.

They have plans to develop the Network in a similar way to how Hulu’s streaming service operates currently, where you can pay extra for commercial-free programming and exclusive shows.

Could WWE Offer Multiple Plans For Network?

The details of what plans they may offer are not available right now. However, in 2016 the company had discussed the idea of a 4-plan system ranging from free to $14.99 per month.

The free plan would have offered 24/7 live stream that would feature WWE content without PPVs, NXT and the Cruiserweight Classic, plus five hours of archive footage.

The progressive plans would have then added more exclusive shows with the $14.99 version providing a commercial-free experience and access to all the programming available on the Network, including footage from Indie Promotions like EVOLVE and Progress Wrestling.

In the past year, WWE has sent out some surveys, scouting possibility for more original programming like Southpaw Regional Wrestling and the upcoming Hardy Compound special and it’s believed that they will continue this effort.

While there is no solid word on when these changes may take effect, Officials are apparently hoping to lock their strategies within the next month and implement them at the start of next year, possibly around the time of WWE Network’s 5th anniversary in February.

Tetsuya Naito Teases New Member For LIJ

0

There have been a lot of unsubstantiated rumors recently regarding the status of New Japan Pro Wrestling stable, Los Ingobernables De Japon. The crux of the speculation was that a new member was in coming to make up for former-IWGP Jr. Heavyweight champion, Hiromu Takahashi suffering an unfortunate injury that has sidelined him since July 7th.

Today, NJPW has released an official video to their YouTube channel. The incredibly slick video features a suited Naito sitting at a bar. He sips at a glass of whisky as he regales the fans with an update on LIJ’s future plans.

He starts off with a reminder of what he said in the ring on April 29th in Kumamoto, “Of course staying the same and not giving up are important. But, I think will to change, determination to change and bravery to step forward are important, too.”

Naito confirms he was actually referring to himself and his personal evolution with that comment – not his group’s growth.

“LIJ Are About More Than Ever”

The former IWGP World Heavyweight champion stressed that “We would like to let people know that Tetsuya Naito and Los Ingobernables de Japon are about more than ever.”

He discussed Takahashi’s injury and his inability to defend the belt, and subsequent stripping of it before teasing a new member;

“We “Los Ingobernables de Japon” would like to wait for his return and say ‘tranquilo.’ But, we’d rather step forward than just wait. 5, not 4 of us would wait for Hiromu’s return,” he stated. “In other words, new ‘Los Ingobernables de Japon’ would wait for Hiromu’s return.

On October 8th, at Ryogoku Sumo arena. We will introduce a new ‘pareja [partner].’ Stay tuned.”

Who do you think the mysterious member ‘X’ could be?

The Young Bucks And Cody Discuss Free Agency On Latest ‘Being The Elite’

1

Being The Elite is back after taking a hiatus following All In, and the trio of Cody Rhodes and Young Bucks are already talking about their impending free agency.

After taking a break from the online world for a few weeks following their mega indie event, The Young Bucks dropped the 119th episode of their YouTube show yesterday.

The show opened with a joke about the reports of Marty Scurll and Kazuchika Okada going over the given time limit during All In and how it caused the main event to be cut short.

What’s Next?

Then halfway through the show, the trio of Matt, Nick and Cody were seen in the arena of ROH’s Death Before Dishonor PPV where they talked about their impending free agency.

Matt discussed how people are asking what’s next for them and claimed that while it’s still too early, he would be lying if he said that he hadn’t thought about it.

Jumping into the conversation, Cody said it’s typically a taboo to talk about the contract stuff. But they will be giving away the full information to the fans.

At the end of the episode titled ‘Tick-Tock’ they also revealed a clock which shows the remaining time in their current contracts with Ring Of Honor and NJPW.

After this, we can expect them to drop more information on their contractual status and future in the upcoming episodes of Being The Elite. For now, you can check out the latest episode of their YouTube show below:

SmackDown Live Preview: Matches And Opening Segment Announced

0

We noted before how a New Day segment was announced for this week’s episode of SmackDown Live and now Paige has revealed another segment and a couple of new matches for the show.

The General Manager continued the tradition of booking matches via twitter, and she confirmed a mixed tag match and Daniel Bryan’s bout for the night via a video posted from her official account as seen below:

https://twitter.com/RealPaigeWWE/status/1046978407937036290

The first bout she announced is between the teams of Zelina Vega and Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas vs. Carmella and R Truth. Both these teams had been teasing this match on social media last week.

Shelton Benjamin Gets A Match On SmackDown

Also after Shelton Benjamin sent out some tweets asking for a match on SmackDown, the former Diva’s Champion announced that he will face Daniel Bryan at the upcoming episode.

Apart from this, Paige also announced that she will be opening the show tonight. However, the video ended there and she did not explain what the opening segment will be about.

Though considering the ending of last week’s episode of the Blue Branded Show, and the fact that this will be the go-home episode for the Super Show Down, it’s very likely that the opening segment will involve the WWE Champion AJ Styles and Samoa Joe.

The crowd proceeded to be Elias out of the building for about a minute. Elias didn’t back off and said that he completely understood why Oklahoma City has a team.

Owens tried to talk but the crowd would not stop booing. Owens told the crowd that they were rude and that he was going to try to ignore them. Elias shouted for the production crew to turn the lights down because he didn’t want to look at the crowd.

Kevin Owens claimed that John Cena’s ego was as big as the people of Seattle’s ego and the crowd booed even louder. Owens added that Cena and Lashley have no chance against them this Saturday at WWE Super Show-Down. Owens vowed to Powerbomb Cena on the ring apron this Saturday night.

Lio Rush interrupted and said that Cena is a legend. Rush claimed that some people even call Cena the greatest of all time and the crowd booed him. Lio Rush then said that Owens shouldn’t overlook Lashley tonight as the crowd continued to chant SuperSonics.
