Triple H took to Twitter earlier today to reveal the anticipated attendance for Super Show-Down. ‘The Game’ spoke to Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper regarding the expected number of “over 65,000.” The Cerebral Assassin sent out a tweet stating, “Dropped by the Melbourne Cricket Ground this afternoon on the way to speak at Bastion Collective in Melbourne. This city is abuzz about #WWESSD. Spoke with the Herald Sun about what it’ll feel like with over 65,000 fans in the stadium … tomorrow night is gonna be LOUD.”

The headline grabbing match from this show pits KUSHIDA and Hiroshi Tanahashi against Gedo and Jay White. Tanahashi and White will be colliding on Monday as part of King of Pro Wrestling in a huge singles match. That bout will be contested for the rights to the IWGP Heavyweight title match at Wrestle Kingdom in January. Tanahashi already defended the contract for the January 4th match against Okada back in September.
Jay White recently attacked his CHAOS stablemate Kazuchika Okada and aligned himself with Gedo. As well as being the booker of New Japan Gedo was the longtime manager of Okada, helping him to reach the incredible heights that he has risen to over the past 5 years.
WWE Super Show-Down takes place on Saturday morning from Melbourne, Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The card for the first-ever event in Super Show-Down chronology is loaded from top-to-bottom with big matches featuring the best talents from RAW and SmackDown Live.
The main event for Saturday morning’s big event is The Undertaker vs. Triple H in a match that WWE is billing as the “Last Time Ever” these two wrestling legends will meet inside the squared circle. Other headline bouts include John Cena and Bobby Lashley teaming up to take on Kevin Owens and Elias in tag-team action, Daniel Bryan and The Miz will square off to determine the next challenger to the WWE Championship, The Shield will take on the trio of Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre in a men’s six-man tag-team bout, while RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey teams up with The Bella Twins to take on The Riott Squad in six-woman tag-team action. Additionally, A.J. Styles will defend his WWE Championship against Samoa Joe again, however this time their match will be contested under No Disqualification and No Count-Out rules.

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair
Ian Carey: This one all depends on how off-track the company went to give Lynch the title in the first place. The “rumors and innuendo” as Conrad Thompson puts it are stating Vince McMahon sees Lynch as someone who has taken the ball and run with it. If that’s the case, I expect Vince to let her keep running with it. (Prediction: Becky Lynch)
Andrew Ravens: There’s really no reason for Flair to win the title back and even betting odds show that as it makes no sense. Lynch has been doing a great job in this feud and as a heel. Best work in her career on the main roster by a longshot. Lynch retains with this program finishing up at Evolution next month. (Prediction: Becky Lynch)
Lesly Sincere: This might be the match that might steal the show. Just like Asuka vs. Charlotte at WM 34 this match has a grand stage feel where the story is actually interesting. Taking off the strap off of Becky is too early and she’s too hot. I call Becky on this one. (Prediction: Becky Lynch)
CONSENSUS: 3-0, BECKY LYNCH
Asuka & Naomi vs. The Ilconics
Ian: As this isn’t a key match in any major storyline, it’s a chance to let the Iiconics get a win in Australia. It’ll be good for WWE’s popularity there, especially considering they made the bizarre decision to cut Tenille Dashwood last year. (Prediction: The Ilconics)
Andrew: If this was in any other country but Australia, I would have Asuka and Naomi win here, but it’s not. Yes, WWE does handle hometown stars in a weird way by having them historically lose, but this is a different situation. Asuka and Naomi have been booked as comedy figures as of late. With that being said, it doesn’t hurt them to lose. (Prediction: The Ilconics)
Lesly: Sort of a throw away in my opinion. Both Asuka and Naomi weren’t doing anything on Smackdown so they paired them up to beat the IIconics. I’ll say Asuka and Naomi just so that the faces have a win that day. (Prediction: Asuka & Naomi)

SmackDown Tag-Team Championship: The New Day vs. The Bar
Ian: I don’t see the Bar having enough hype around them right now to get a tag-team title run out of it. New Day should retain here. (Prediction: The New Day)
Andrew: This should be a pretty good match as these teams have worked with each other quite a bit in recent years. Although it’s a nice change to see WWE using Cesaro and Sheamus on TV once again after being moved to SmackDown earlier this year, it makes no sense to have New Day drop the straps here as they are an entertaining group that has earned a lengthy title reign. (Prediction: The New Day)
Lesly: With Kofi Kingston record-breaking tag team title record in the books, I see The Bar taking the titles off New Day just because they want to keep this tag team feud going until Eric Rowan returns. (Prediction: The Bar)
CONSENSUS: 2-1, THE NEW DAY
WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Cedric Alexander vs. Buddy Murphy
Ian: Last time these two met was in Cedric Alexander’s hometown. Alexander successfully defended in his Cruiserweight Championship against Murphy that night but I’m predicting things go very different in Murphy’s hometown of Melbourne this weekend. Murphy gets the win and the rubber match between the two takes place Survivor Series or Crown Jewel. (Prediction: Buddy Murphy)
Andrew: I can’t say enough good things with not only how WWE has handled booking him but the job that Alexander has done as champ. The fans take him seriously as the champion even though they may not take the brand as a top show. Murphy is also someone who has reinvented himself on this show. Although Alexander has held the title for the majority of this year, I don’t see a reason to take the strap off of him at this stage unless they just want a surprise and have a hometown star win. (Prediction: Cedric Alexander)
Lesly: According to reports, Cedric Alexander is undefeated this year. Let’s keep this streak alive and have him win at the Super Show-Down. (Prediction: Cedric Alexander)

WWE Championship: A.J. Styles vs. Samoa Joe (No DQ, No Count-Out)
Ian: Joe might be more popular than you think here. Here’s a somewhat interesting fact. Joe is the second wrestler with his name to have a big match in the area. Joseph Afamasaga wrestled as “Samoan Joe” in Australia throughout the 70s and 80s. Anyway, I don’t think Samoa Joe will have much luck on Saturday. If Styles was going to lose the belt between now and the build to next WrestleMania, he would have lost it to Nakamura. (Prediction: A.J. Styles)
Andrew: Samoa Joe wins his first WWE Title. Okay, so maybe a little more than just that. So, it’s long overdue. Styles has had a great run as WWE Champion but it’s time for a change, and it happens here. Joe has been a good heel and counterpart for the babyface in Styles. He has gotten into the head of the champ, and with that, he wins his first WWE Title here. (Prediction: Samoa Joe)
Lesly: Kind o a tough choice. While I want Joe to win to get a new face for the championship, I think WWE’s safe bet is going with A.J. Styles. Joe has been hurt already and missed two WrestleMania’s. Making him champ and running the vigorous champion schedule (I.E, morning talk shows, interviews, appearances) may be too much for the guy and cause him to get injured again. A.J. for the win I guess. (Prediction: A.J. Styles)

Ronda Rousey & The Bella Twins vs. The Riott Squad
Ian: The Riott Squad will win and this will cause a rift between Rousey and the Bellas, leading to Nikki vs Ronda at Evolution. (Prediction: The Riott Squad)
Andrew: The easiest pick of the whole card. Not only do you have Rousey here who will obviously win every match she’s involved in up to the point that WWE decides to have her suffer her first loss, which I hope she handles better than she did in the UFC. You also have The Bellas, and with WWE hinting at a Nikki vs. Rousey match at a later date, the babyfaces go over. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey & The Bella Twins)
Lesly: The Faces win. Enough said. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey & The Bella Twins)

The Shield vs. Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre
Ian: At some point, a member of the Shield is turning on the other two. It won’t be Roman and it’s already been Rollins, so it will be Dean Ambrose. They’ve built up the idea that he will turn so much, however, that it would seem almost too easy for them to go that route. I don’t expect the Shield to breakup for at least another few months. They should get the win here but there could also be some dissension teased. (Prediction: The Shield)
Andrew: This has been the top feud on the RAW brand for several weeks now with the hope that it’s the blow-off match involving all of these superstars. Although I could see WWE going for a shocking finish with having the heels go over, Roman Reigns is involved and by now, we should all know that Vince McMahon likes to keep him strong. (Prediction: The Shield)
Lesly: Hard to call this one too. We could see Dean Ambrose turn on the Shield and Strowman’s team win, but McIntryre could turn on his teammates and cause them to lose. Since we already saw a betrayal among The Shield once already, I say that the Shield wins and McIntyre breaks off from Ziggler and Strowman begins his single career on Raw. (Prediction: The Shield)
CONSENSUS: 3-0, The Shield
No. 1 Contender: The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan
Ian: Daniel Bryan has to win this match. He lost at Summerslam and it would set up a truly epic AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan WWE Championship match. We could get that match in Saudi Arabia next month. Expect Maryse and Brie to get involved because they certainly won’t be able to at Crown Jewel. (Prediction: Daniel Bryan)
Andrew: An interesting match that really could see either guy win and it makes sense. Although I don’t see this being the final match between these two as there is more story to tell. I have to wonder what does Bryan winning this match do anything for him? In this story, Bryan needs someone to chase and that’s The Miz. Thus, Miz cheats his way to victory. (Prediction: The Miz)
Lesly: Miz is busy with reality T.V. and other projects and Bryan is on constant watch for concussions. I’ll say Bryan wins this match but gets screwed by The Miz in a title bout with A.J. Styles in the near future. (Prediction: Daniel Bryan)
CONSENSUS: 2-1, DANIEL BRYAN
John Cena & Bobby Lashley vs. Kevin Owens & Elias
Ian: Bobby Lashley hasn’t gone heel yet but he does seem to have hired a heel manager. This sends the message to me that Lashley will be going heel along with him and likely taking out John Cena in the process. I’m predicting KO and Elias get the win here, leading to a Cena vs Lashley w/ Lio Rush program. (Prediction: Kevin Owens & Elias)
Andrew: This is a match that really doesn’t mean anything for either the winners or losers here. With Cena only being on a part-time schedule, he has to go over right? There is nothing for him to revenge at least this stage of his career unless booked for other events, which he’s not. Plus, a loss here doesn’t hurt Owens or Elias. Heck, WWE probably won’t even mention it on TV going forward. Cena and Lashley win. (Prediction: John Cena & Bobby Lashley)
Lesly: John Cena returning back on WWE T.V.? Of course he and Lashley have to win. CAUSE HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA!!! (Prediction: John Cena & Bobby Lashley)

Last Time Ever: The Undertaker (w/ Kane) vs. Triple H (w/ HBK)
Ian: The Undertaker should take the win here to send the 70,000 plus fans home happy. In the process, however, something could occur which encourages Shawn Michaels to come out of retirement. (Prediction: The Undertaker)
Andrew: Although they haven’t wrestled each other in years, the in-ring action won’t be great but the sociology of this contest will be on a different level. Especially since WWE decided to have Kane and Shawn Michaels at ringside. This story tells a different tale as it doesn’t really matter who wins the match but rather what comes after it considering the rumors that have been going around online. Taker wins this match but there is more to come from these four legends. (Prediction: The Undertaker)
Lesly: Another hard one. If it were just Taker and HHH it would be easier to predict but I don’t think there’s going to be a clean finish here. I say Shawn screws Undertaker, causing HHH to win. That way we can have a Taker and Shawn match in the future. (Prediction: Triple H)

Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville made a surprise appearance at Tuesday’s Dragon Gate live event from Japan. He previously worked for the company between 2007-2012 under the name PAC.
PAC’s appearance in-ring at Dragon Gate’s to join heel group RED was his first since Sept. 26, 2017 on 205 Live, he defeated Ariya Daivari on that occasion.
Reaction from 205 Live Star
The return of PAC did not go unnoticed by at least one member of the WWE locker room. 205 Live competitor Akira Tozawa took to Twitter and simply wrote “PAC.” Tozawa himself had an impressive 12 year run in Dragon Gate where he held the Open the Brave Gate, Open the Twin Gate, Open the Triangle Gate and Open the Owarai Gate Championships.
In the past WWE stars have made cryptic comments on Twitter that possibly referred to events outside the company. There’s no two ways about this message though, Tozawa is clearly referring to his former colleague from both WWE and Dragon Gate.
We reported earlier this year that WWE and Pro Wrestling NOAH had a short term working relationship with Hideo Itami returning to the Japanese company to face Naomichi Marufuji.
More Working Relationships?
There are currently no announced plans for any further ‘outside’ relationships in Japan beyond the one off Marufuji/Itami match. What if…and this is a big what if, WWE and Dragon Gate had an understanding when it came to Neville appearing? It is clear that WWE are looking to expand globally, their work on the United Kingdom series and the confirmed relationship with Germany’s wXw promotion are just the start. Dragon Gate are currently one of the smaller, albeit it well respected, companies in Japan. New Japan Pro Wrestling is still the biggest player and NOAH/Dragon Gate will still be playing second fiddle for the time being.
Neville/PAC reportedly stopped responding to independent promoter’s messages just last week. There is a very good chance that this was just a rouse to give extra impact to his Dragon Gate return, but could this be linked to WWE? This might all sound a bit far fetched but with fans being more difficult to ‘work’ in 2018 what better way than to send one of your stars out to a different promotion? You can build anticipation for a return to the ‘big time’ later down the line.
The fact that Neville/PAC appeared for Dragon Gate and not New Japan speaks a lot of the performer. The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion returned to the place that helped build his career to the point of joining WWE, whilst many may have opted to make a huge return at the likes of ROH, Impact or New Japan.
Could his Dragon Gate return be linked to WWE? There’s a very good chance that is isn’t…but what if this was part of a bigger tactic to help push development for WWE into the Japanese market? We’ll have to wait and see.
The Undertaker claims to know part of the one secret that Andre The Giant took to his grave. During a recent interview with Pastor Ed Young as part of the Wrastlin’ series, “The Deadman” revealed that Andre wanted a match against him and even had an idea for the feud. However, Andre kept that idea to himself even to his last day alive on earth.
Taker signed with the WWE back in 1990 and although Andre was a huge star for Vince McMahon’s company for years, the final years of the legend were tough as he was in rough shape. The WWE Hall of Famer passed away due to congestive heart failure in 1993 and that feud never happened.
“I never got the chance to wrestle Andre. By the time that I got there, his health was really in decline. He wrestled a few times and it was funny because Andre was really old school. Andre didn’t like big guys either — he loved me, thank goodness,” Taker said (transcript courtesy of the New York Post).
Taker would continue by stating that Andre thought big guys were arrogant or a bully but he had his way with a lot of guys that were disrespectful towards him. ”Anyway, he liked me and, you know, I guess we always think we got one [match] left in us, you know.”
Undertaker recalled that Andre would come in and would always be the first guy in the locker room where he would just enjoy to sit there and play cribbage. He noted that he would go over and talk with him. Andre would tell him,’You know, one day, kid, me and you. I have this idea.’ ‘Oh really, boss? Tell me about it.’ “And he’d never tell me.”
Ultimately, Andre kept his plan for the feud a secret until he passed away and even his good friend and former WWE referee Tim White would never tell that secret even when Taker would ask. The reason for this is due to Taker believing that Andre was old school and didn’t want anyone else to do it because Andre thought that one day he could get back in the ring and they could do something that would be a big deal.
“No one knows what it was, but you know, he ended up passing away and he never let me know. I wonder to this day, ‘Man, I bet it was good.’”
Charlotte Flair continues to make the media rounds to promote WWE’s next pay-per-view event. The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is slated to challenge Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Title at Saturday’s (October 6, 2018) WWE Super Show-Down at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne, Australia on the WWE Network.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion recently spoke with Talk Sports to talk about various topics including WWE Evolution and the importance of it. Flair stated that it hasn’t hit her yet but thinks that it’s humbling to be on the same show as past legends such as Lita and Trish Stratus and the future with the girls of NXT. She continued by stating that the event as a whole is a game changer and once people tune in to watch the show they will realize there’s no difference between male and female Superstars.
“You’ll see that the women are just as captivating and as good at storytelling as the men are and that’s because WWE is giving us that platform and opportunity to show what we can do. I have the opportunity to show the world there’s only one queen in WWE; I’m pretty excited about it.”
Ronda Rousey’s transition to WWE
Flair stated that Rousey has surpassed her expectations already as she thinks that Rousey legitimizes what they do because of her background. She added that just because you’re an amazing athlete doesn’t mean you’re going to be able to translate that to our audience.
“She has and she’s doing a phenomenal job. That’s credit to her dedication to pick this up, I know she has an acting background but in the ring is different. She just gets better with every outing.”

AJ Styles is favored to retain the WWE Title over Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan is likely to beat The Miz to become the new #1 contender for the WWE Title, and The Undertaker, who will have Kane in his corner, is favored to beat Triple H, who will have WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels in his corner, in a singles match. There is one title change expected with Buddy Murphy favored to beat Cedric Alexander to win the Cruiserweight Title.

On Thursday night, MLW Fury Road took place from the Melrose Ballroom in New York City. It was previously announced that MLW would be returning to NYC on Thursday, April 4th during WrestleMania 35 weekend. Due to high demand, MLW has added a second NYC that weekend – and it will be headlined by Battle Riot II.

MLW: BATTLE RIOT II joins the already announced Thursday April 4th FUSION TV taping event, which also takes place at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, NYC. Both are MLW FUSION TV tapings.
Tickets go on sale for both events 10/10 at 10 a.m. at www.MLWTickets.com. Tickets start at just $20.
Both cards have a start time of 7:00 p.m. and should conclude by 10:30 p.m.

While the Friday night card will now feature the 40-wrestler Battle Riot® as its main event, speculation continues to grow over what or who will headline the April 4th card.

Major League Wrestling returned to the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, NY on Thursday night for MLW: Fury Road. Matches on this show were taped for the weekly MLW Fusion show on beIN SPORTS. The first episode from this taping is expected to air next Friday night, with the replay being uploaded to MLW’s YouTube channel the following night.

The Riott Squad debuted on Smackdown Live on November 21st, 2017. On the same night, The Squad assaulted the likes of Naomi, Becky Lynch, Natalya, and Charlotte Flair. The Riott Squad was apart of the Superstar Shakeup and moved to Monday Night Raw. On Raw, they feuded with the likes of Ember Moon, Sasha Banks, and Bayley.

Everybody’s favourite ex-Drifter, Elias has made no secret about wanting the opportunity to share the ring with The Great One, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
In a recent interview, he reiterated this sentiment, once again slandering The Rock and The Brahma Bull’s musical abilities.
When asked if he derived any inspiration from The Rock, Elias responded, “No inspiration whatsoever. I’ve stated this before, The Rock he did do this – he would play guitar and things like that in a way. And he would do cover songs on Monday Night Raw, but guess what? I’m doing original music every single week, man. I’ve got an album out with all original songs – written, performed by me.”
He would go on to explain his evident frustrations, stating, “[…] people make comparisons, and maybe it’s because of how the crowd is, y’know? I’ve got my catchphrases with ‘Walk with Elias,’ things like that. The thing is, The Rock cannot do what I do. So when I hear these comparisons, I just get worked up about it, you know what I mean?”
Elias couldn’t help but admit that “[…] he’s doing great things. He’s out in Hollywood, he’s killing it out there and he obviously killed it when he was here, but times have changed.”
“It’s different now. Elias is the biggest and best thing going in WWE, and if The Rock – will we share a ring? He knows where to find me. I’ve told him. I’ve called him out a few times. Rock, you know exactly where to find me. On my show, Monday Night Raw. If you want to walk with Elias, come on out.”

The former GM of Raw and Smackdown is in pursuits of higher learning and will receive aid from WWE. The Widow of the late Eddie Guerrero, Vickie Guerrero, was one of three to receive the WWE Talent Scholarship recently.
“I am honored. I’ve always considered WWE my second family, and for them to recognize that I have this dream of graduating and continuing my education has motivated me, even more, to keep continuing what I’m doing.”
Vickie plans to pursue a bachelor’s in science and healthcare administration at Herzing University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She plans on graduating next summer.
“I’ve always loved the healthcare industry. During my schooling, I fell in love with the administration part of it. It’s a dream of mine to continue and one day, have the opportunity to run a hospital or medical facility. That would be a prayer answered for me.”
2018 WWE Talent Scholarship Recipients
The other two recipients of the scholarship were former WWE Performance Center recruits Theo Agbi and Josh Woods. Agbi is seeking a law degree from Vermont Law School, while Woods is seeking a degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Florida. Woods has been wrestling in Ring of Honor the last couple of years.
One previous recipient of this scholarship, Maria Kanellis, returned to WWE just a few short months after finishing her degree in 2017. She opted to get the highly relevant-to-her-field degree in Sports, Entertainment, and Event Management from Johnson & Wales University. She began her studies in 2013 and graduated shortly after her return to WWE in 2017.
Having been awarded two five star matches this year in bouts against Andrade “Cien” Almas and Tomasso Ciampa (at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia and NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, respectively), Johnny Gargano provided a refreshing take on the star rating system when asked, “[…] how much does that really mean to you? Is that kind of a yardstick to you in any kind of way?”
Speaking with Alex McCarthy during a WWE media event, Gargano responded “I take great pride in my work. To me, if the fans enjoy it, if they’re having a good time, if they’re making noise, that’s all the really matters to me.”
“But trust me,” he continued, “I am still a wrestling fan, and I am a wrestling historian and a wrestling purist at heart. So, getting five stars and things like that, it is cool because people do care about that, and it’s cool to see, and it’s a notch in my belt, I guess.”
“But at the end of the day, I think wrestling is all subjective. What Dave Meltzer gives five stars, some people give two stars, some people give three stars, it’s all personal preference,” Gargano shared. “And I think that’s the beautiful thing about professional wrestling, is that is it all just an art form. It’s all just personal preference.”
Grounding his comparison, Johnny Wrestling would juxtapose the subjectivity of wrestling to other pop cultural touchstones, like Marvel movies.
“I love Marvel movies, some people hate Marvel movies. I love 2K19. Some people may not like it. […] Video games, movies, music, television shows, it’s all personal preference, and I think that’s like that with wrestling, too. I take pride in it but at the end of the day if people enjoy it, that’s what matters.”

Austin Aries promised he will go into Bound For Glory without the help of Moose and Killer Kross. Is he telling the truth? Or will he stoop to all levels to keep his belt on October 14th?
Johnny Impact knew Austin Aries was alone tonight in Mexico City. Eddie Edwards let him know Moose and Killer Kross were tied up with him. So Johnny called out Impact World Champion, Austin Aries.
Impact commended Aries on coming out by himself, even with his hand in a sling after Johnny’s attack last week. Aries promised he’d do the same at Bound For Glory because he’s the best wrestler in the world.
The Impact World Champion then offered Johnny a spot in his faction with Kross and Moose but obviously, Johnny declined. Aries then hit Johnny with the microphone and looked to soften up his upcoming challenger. Johnny got the better of the exchange, however, and ended the segment with Starship Pain.

Moose kidnapped the wrong Bostonian woman this week. He opted to kidnap Alisha Edwards as if she was helpless or something. He did this to lure Edwards into a trap. Like most heels luring a babyface into a trap, Moose spent some time explaining to Edwards his motivation for turning on him. He talked again about how Aries was the only one to call him in the hospital after Slammiversary. Edwards explained he didn’t call Moose because he was just a few rooms down in the hospital as a result of what happened in his match with Tommy Dreamer.
Alisha attacked Moose and Eddie was able to get away from Killer Kross in the melee. This allowed both Eddie and Alisha to escape and Eddie to call Johnny and let him know Aries was by himself.

Petey Williams Teaches Scarlett Bordeaux The Canadian Destroyer
Several wrestlers were attempting to impress Scarlett Bordeaux in the back. One of the wrestlers, Petey Williams, attempted to teach Scarlett the Canadian Destroyer piledriver, a move I have a feeling we might see her attempt in Impact at some point.
Trevor Lee took offense to Petey’s actions and Scarlett suggested the two should take it up in the ring.

Scarlett Bordeaux joined Don Callis and Josh Mathews on commentary for this match. She’s holding her Global Talent Search to find the right wrestler to earn her services full-time.
Drake likely didn’t expect one of the most legendary and high-profile luchadors in Mexico to answer his call. As a result, Drake ended up abandoning the match and allowing La Parka to pick up the win via count-out. Bordeaux indicated she was shocked at what Eli Drake did and wouldn’t mind asking him in the back about what was going through his head.

Matt Sydal and Rich Swann went one-on-one finally this week. Swann had been trying to get a single’s match with Sydal earlier but Sydal went to management and had them put together as a team first. When that didn’t work, the single’s match was finally scheduled for tonight.
Ethan Page wrestled a couple of matches for Impact last year under the name Chandler Park. He interfered tonight, allowing Sydal to pick up the win. Page would later announce he’s aligned with Sydal and is likely looking at things through his 3rd eye.
Page and Sydal will take on Rich Swann and a partner of his choosing at Bound For Glory.
The OGZ Tried To Bait Konnan And LAX

Last week, the OGZ burned Konnan’s mask but K-Dawg said this week he’s not taking the bait and not breaking the ceasefire. This week, King and the OGZ showed up again and tried to bait Konnan. Konnan seemed calm but the other members of LAX looked as though they wanted revenge.

Ticket packages and prices have been released for the upcoming NWO reunion show taking place at the end of the month. While the price of admission is not cheap, the level of access to the Superstars involved will be significant. Prices range from $200 to $1000 and include photo-ops, collectibles, and access to the Q&A session.
Ahead of the nWo reunion event later this month, Kevin Nash spoke to the Sporting News about his career, the state of the business today, and the future of wrestling.
Among the interview’s highlights were Nash’s comments on the upcoming Triple H vs. Undertaker match at WWE Super Show-Down.
When pressed about why a younger wrestler might not be getting the shot to work with The Undertaker, Nash made some rather pointed comments about the stars of today.
“No one cares about the young guys,” said Nash. “You going to put Finn [Balor] in there versus The Undertaker? [Seth] Rollins? Who are you going to put?”
Nash went on to offer his critique of today’s in-ring style, intimating that it will prevent longevity.
“Those guys aren’t going to have 30 years in the business. This style won’t allow these guys to last 30 years. Rollins already had a couple knee operations, but he’s a great worker. I just don’t see these guys even lasting 20 years because of their bodies and the concussion syndrome,” Nash said.
Nash also discussed what made the nWo cool, and how it had almost nothing to do with wrestling.
“Wrestling was dead. What was over at that point basically was West Coast Rap,” Nash said.

The company has yet to officially announce the main event of this event that takes place from the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne, Australia and will air on the WWE Network but it will most likely be Triple H vs. The Undertaker.

It turns out that Shinsuke Nakamura may not be completely satisfied with his recent feud with current WWE Champion, AJ Styles.
Speaking to Bully Ray for ‘Busted Open Radio,’ Nakamura admitted to wanting to wrestle AJ once more, stating that “I want to wrestle him again. I think I can do more great matches.”
His focus then turned towards what he perceives to have been an issue when crafting his matches with Styles, “Wrestling on pay-per-view, wrestling on TV show, time is very strict,” he explained, before saying, “[…] finally I feel like I got used to the WWE style. So, maybe next time, if I wrestle AJ, I can create more than before.”
This isn’t the first time that Nakamura has suggested his displeasure with how that feud turned out, previously saying that he “didn’t show everything [as a heel]. Just a little bit.”
Delving deeper into the idea of the ‘WWE style’ and what that means, especially for wrestlers who have to heavily adjust, Shinsuke provided a frank opinion:
“WWE style is a much different platform than other wrestling companies, I think. Each wrestler wrestles under strict rules that fans never know,” he revealed. “Time-wise, they’re really strict, so you have to choose what is the most important thing to show in five minutes, two minutes, one minute. It’s completely different with other wrestling, I think.”

Following a week full of rumors and speculations, Riott Squad member Liv Morgan finally got cleared to compete at the upcoming Super Show Down event yesterday.
After the news broke out, The Mirror spoke with the trio, and during the interview, they talked about their upcoming bout against the Bella Twins and Ronda Rousey and more.
Talking about her injury, Morgan said that she is 100% cleared by the WWE doctors and she went on to praise the medical staff, saying that they took great care of her:
“I’m 100% cleared by the WWE doctors; they took great care of me. They have a very extensive concussion protocol, which we followed 100% and luckily I am feeling fantastic and we are ready to win.”
Continuing on the topic, Liv also commented on their upcoming match claiming that they’d teach their opponents a lesson and teach them whose locker room this is.
Liv Morgan suffered a concussion after she received some botched Yes kicks from Brie Bella during the September 24th episode of Raw.
Brie received a lot of criticism after the incident online, but stars like Daniel Bryan, Corey Graves, and Tommy Dreamer have since defended the former Champion.
Liv Morgan, along with Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan is now scheduled to face The Bella Twins and Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at the upcoming Super Show Down event this Saturday.
We noted before how it was revealed that WWE would be taping New Year’s edition of Raw this year on December 28th, opposed to last year’s show which aired Live.
Now Pwinsider has revealed that the same will be the case for the SmackDown episode the next day as well and it will be taped on December 29th.
Not only that but the PPG Paints Arena, where the event will take place, is advertising two big matches for the special New Year’s edition of the Blue Branded Show as well.
The first match which is being advertised will see the current SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch facing Charlotte Flair in what appears to be a nontitle match.
The WWE Champion AJ Styles is also being advertised to defend his Championship in a Fatal Four Way match against The Miz, Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe for the show.
This card is obviously subject to change, and it’s very much possible that any of these championships end up changing hands before the New Year’s episode 3 months from now.
However, considering the recent low ratings, it’s also possible that the company will actually go on and broadcast these matches on SmackDown to try and produce good TV ratings.
We noted before how UK Champion Pete Dunn made history when he recently completed 500 days with the title, but it appears that he is now dealing with a setback.
Dunn was supposed to compete at Destiny Wrestling’s Raising Hell Tour this weekend but the UK Champion has been pulled from the event due to an undisclosed injury.
Pete who is also the Destiny Wrestling Champion was expected to defend his title against Josh Alexander during a show scheduled for October 7th.
Though after he was removed, the indie promotion has announced that former NXT Star Low Ki will replace Pete Dunn and face Josh at the Raising Hell card on October 7th in Mississauga, Ontario:

The promotion has also revealed that Tyler Bate and Trent Seven will be fulfilling for Dunn and they will represent British Strong Style on the weekend’s shows.
The UK Champion last wrestled during a recent Progress Wrestling event from Wembley Stadium and showed no sign of injury while coming out of his bout there.
Not many details are available about Pete Dunn’s status at the point and Destiny Wrestling has stated that they cannot comment on it further.
They also said that WWE will release a statement on his injury in the coming days and we’ll keep you posted about it.
Amidst the rumors of Shawn Michaels possibly facing the Undertaker at the upcoming Survivor Series PPV, a new interview has revealed an interesting offer Michaels was presented with about 4 years ago.
Inside The Ropes recently posted a Shawn Michaels interview from their YouTube Channel and in the video, Shawn revealed that he was offered another match with Taker after hanging his boots.
The former World Champion said that he was offered a match against the Undertaker ‘about four years’ after he had retired from in-ring competition.
And according to the Heartbreak Kid, it was easily the most intriguing ideas he has ever been presented with and even his wife had gotten excited for it, saying that it’s pretty cool.
What’s interesting to note here is that Shawn retired after he put his career on the line in a match and lost against the Undertaker at WrestleMania 26, in 2010.
4 years after his retirement would mean he was offered the bout at the time around WrestleMania 30, where Undertaker faced Brock Lesnar and his famous winning streak came to an end.
Now the big question here is if Shawn Michaels was WWE’s first choice for breaking Taker’s streak, and what would the current scenario be like if he had ended up defeating The Dead Man at Mania instead?

After going through a number of name changes and settling in for Big C as his new ring name for the independent circuit, the former Big Cass from WWE has cut his first promo, and he is already talking about getting back into the company.
Cass recently made an appearance for local Michigan indie Championship Wrestling League, and during the appearance, he cut his first promo since his release from WWE.
In the promo, Cass first thanked the fans that were in the attendance and then instantly started talking about his release and the stories surrounding it.
The former NXT Star said that he has been reading stories about his departure and while some of them are true, most of the dirt sheet reports are false.
He then went on to claim that only three people know the reason behind his release. While he teased revealing the reason, Cass ultimately turned heel during the promo saying that the people in attendance don’t deserve to know it.
Big C then said that he will tell the story of his release on a Network special when he gets back to the ‘Big Leagues,’ and then he trash talked the indie promotion some more.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) picked up a hot prospect tonight (Thurs. October 4, 2018). Longtime Mexican professional wrestling star Rush was announced to make his debut for the promotion during “MLW: Fury Road.” The event took place from the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York. Mid-way through the show, MLW played a video package hyping Rush’s debut. A date or location was not given. We’re told that Rush is coming into MLW strong and will be in the mix for the next few months.
Rush has been in the professional wrestling business since 2008 when he debuted for International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) in October. He performed under the name “Latino” for several months, sticking around the mid-card before leaving in June of 2009. Rush then signed with top Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in the summer of 2009.
He has remained there for the past nine years and is a member of the famed Los Ingobernables faction. During his time in CMLL, Rush has been extremely successful. He is a former CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion, a two-time and current World Tag Team Champion, and former Mexican National Trios Champion.
Rush was named the number 131 best (out of 500) wrestler in the PWI 500 list back in 2013. Most recently, he was awarded “Best Gimmick” by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in 2017 as a member of Los Ingobernables.
