David Arquette Returns To The Ring (Video)

7

Former WCW World Heavyweight Champion and actor David Arquette made his return to the professional wrestling ring last night (Sun. July 15, 2018).

Arquette wrestled under the name “King” David Arquette for a Championship Wrestling from Hollywood event in California. He was defeated by opponent RJ City. Arquette was able to get some offense in during the match, including a Diamond Cutter, before being defeated.

Some highlights of the match can be seen below (via Pro Wrestling Sheet):

David Arquette: Pro Wrestler

Arquette got his start in the professional wrestling world back in 2000 when he co-starred in the moving “Ready To Rumble.” The film was based on a fictional wrestler, Jimmy King, who feuded with Diamond Dallas Page over the WCW World Title. Shortly after the film’s release, Arquette was brought on to WCW TV and eventually won the World Title.

His run with the company only lasted for a few months. WCW later went out of business and was purchased by WWE in 2001. Arquette has made a few appearances on WWE TV since. He was a guest on a 2002 episode of SmackDown and also lost a Handicap match in which he teamed up with Alex Riley against Randy Orton in 2010.

Arquette has been announced as an official Guest Superstarr for the upcoming Starrcast convention outside Chicago during All In weekend.

Update On Hulk Hogan’s Role Backstage at Extreme Rules

3

Wrestling legend is officially back in the fold with WWE. Word broke on Sunday afternoon that Hogan was reinstated into the WWE Hall Of Fame. It later came out that Hogan was backstage at Extreme Rules and addressed the WWE locker room about his past indiscretions and his return to the company after a 3-year hiatus.

According to a report by PWInsider, the entire WWE roster was told to be on hand for Extreme Rules for an important meeting. That meeting turned out to be Hogan’s apology.

For those wondering, Hogan left mid-way through the pay-per-view and at no time were there plans for him to appear on television.

We’ll keep you updated in regards to when Hogan could make his return to WWE TV.

Original Plan For Extreme Rules Main Event

4

Last night (Sun. July 15, 2018) WWE hosted their Extreme Rules pay-per-view (PPV) from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

After a ton of speculation as to what match was going to main event the show, it wound up being the 30-minute Ironman match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship. When it was all said and done, Ziggler retained his strap in Sudden Death Overtime.

Many people assumed that Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley was going to main event the show. PWInsider reports that was actually WWE’s original plan. The last hour of the show would’ve featured AJ Styles vs. Rusev for the WWE Title as well as Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Title.

Ziggler vs. Rollins was initially scheduled to open up the show instead. Of course, those plans were completely reshuffled and Ziggler vs. Rollins went on last, and put on an amazing match.

Rev Pro Announce Return of British J-Cup, New Japan Legend Confirmed for Tournament

0

Revolution Pro Wrestling (Rev Pro) has announced that the British J Cup will be returning later this year. The company sent out a tweet stating that “JUSHIN THUNDER LIGER will look to defend his crown as 16 of the best Jr Heavyweights in the world will compete over 2 days for the 2nd Annual British J Cup Sep 8/9.” The shows will be taking place at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester, England.

This will be the second iteration of the tournament, the debut field in 2017 included Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger, Kushida, Will Ospreay, Marty Scurll, Kyle O’Reilly, Josh Bodom, Ryusuke Taguchi and Tiger Mask IV. As previously mentioned Liger won the new trophy and he looks to be the first confirmed competitor for this September in Manchester.

With the wealth of talent at Rev Pro’s disposal through their NJPW affiliation we could see a number of Junior division stars make their way into this increasingly prestigious field of competitors. Hopefully the likes of Hiromu Takahashi, Will Ospreay, Marty Scurll, KUSHIDA et al can be booked for the two nights.

Two More Confirmed Matches for Rev Pro’s Summer Sizzler 2018 feat. Former WWE Tag Team Champion

0

Revolution Pro Wrestling (Rev Pro) has announced two more bouts for their upcoming Summer Sizzler 2018 event which takes place Friday August 17th from the historic York Hall in Bethnal Green, London.

The first is a tag team bout pitting the New Japan Pro Wrestling/Pro Wrestling NOAH team of Davey Boy Smith Jr and Lance Archer (Killer Elite Squad) against one of the most praised duos in all of the UK scene: Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis). The second bout sees CMLL’s Titan and El Soberano in a bout between two of the globe’s finest high flyers.

This joins the news that former British Heavyweight Champion and legend of the New Japan Pro Wrestling promotion Tomohiro Ishii will be taking on former PROGRESS ATLAS and wXw Unified World Champion WALTER.

Ishii recently lost his British Heavyweight title against Minoru Suzuki at the Strong Style Evolved this past weekend, after the match WALTER appeared and attacked the ‘Stone Pitbull’ to set up this huge bout at the ‘Sizzler.

WALTER has been heavily rumored for a move to WWE over the past year, his work as part of the Ringkampf stable in wXw and his breakout year on the UK scene for the likes of PROGRESS have earned him worldwide acclaim and a chance to appear for PWG and quite possibly New Japan in the near future.

Matt Riddle Out of DEFIANT Ringmaster Tournament, Replacement Announced

0

UK based promotion DEFIANT Wrestling will be holding their ‘Ringmaster’ tournament over two nights starting today (16th/17th) from the O2 Academy in Newcastle, England.

Unfortunately Matt Riddle is no longer scheduled to compete due to a flight delay, a replacement has however been announced and it is highly rated UK scene performer El Phantasmo. Phantasmo will be taking on Aussie Open’s Mark Davis in the opening round this evening.

The full lineup for the tournament is as follows:

  • Adam Brooks
  • Bad Bones
  • BT Gunn
  • David Starr
  • Kay Lee Ray
  • Curtis Chapman

  • Mark Davis (of Aussie Open)
  • Martin Kirby
  • El Phantasmo
  • Millie McKenzie
  • Nathan Cruz
  • Omari
  • Simon Miller
  • Stevie Boy
  • TK Cooper

With the recent announcement of the NXT UK brand and the news that WWE contacted talent cannot be featured on streaming services across the UK it is testament to the depth of talent that the United Kingdom scene has when looking at this stacked tournament.

The event will be available to purchase either on the FITE app or on DEFIANT’s Access On Demand service which available for $8.99 per month.

Conflicting Reports On Daniel Bryan’s Contract Status

19

There are conflicting reports regarding Daniel Bryan’s future with WWE and whether or not he has signed a contract extension.

On Sunday afternoon (July 15, 2018), there was a rumor going around online that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion and SmackDown General Manager had signed a new deal that would keep him in the WWE as his contract is slated to expire on September 1st.

A recent interview came out last week that quoted Bryan by saying that it’s likely that he’ll re-sign with the WWE, which had a lot of fans believing that he would stay with the WWE. That might still be the case but according to longtime pro wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, as of last Friday, Bryan has not signed a new deal.

“Hasn’t signed, or at least hadn’t as of Friday,” Meltzer tweeted. “Not that I don’t expect it to happen.”

As noted, WWE is advertising him for an upcoming SmackDown Live TV event in Detroit, Michigan at the Little Caesars Arena on September 4th as well as for the Super Show-Down event on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne, Australia, the European tour in November, SmackDown house shows taking place after September 1, and the live event at the Madison Square Garden on December 26.

Discussion: What are your thoughts on Bryan’s future with the WWE?

Paul Heyman Responds to Kurt Angle’s Ultimatum For Brock Lesnar

11

Tonight’s edition of WWE RW takes place from Buffalo, NY at the Keybank Center. The show will feature fallout from Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view, including RAW GM’S bombshell ultimatum for Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

Negotiations for Brock Lesnar’s next title defense have been ongoing, but Paul Heyman informed Angle that Lesnar is not interested in returning at this time. Angle is fed up with his absent champion and says Brock Lesnar must show up on Raw or commit to his next title defense to avoid being stripped.

It’s expected that Brock Lesnar’s next title defense will take place in less than five weeks at SummerSlam. Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns have been positioned as the two top contenders for Lesnar, with Lashley getting the victory over Reigns at Extreme Rules. Of course, WWE’s ‘Monster in the Bank’ Braun Strowman hangs over the Universal Champion like a dark cloud.

Without saying whether or not Lesnar will be at RAW, Paul Heyman gave a brief response to Kurt Angle’s ultimatum, calling it an ‘amateurish negotiating ploy.’

WWE.com is also promoting the following items for tonight’s broadcast:

  • Is Braun Strowman finally finished with Kevin Owens?
  • What chaos will ensue when The B-Team return to the red brand as Raw Tag Team Champions?
  • Are the days numbered for The Goddess of WWE?
  • Does The Architect have plans for Dolph Ziggler?

As always, join us here tonight for our weekly WWE RAW Live Coverage.

Jeff Cobb To Debut For Ring Of Honor This Weekend

2

Former Olympian Jeff Cobb will debut this weekend for Ring of Honor at the Saturday Night at Center Stage TV tapings from Atlanta, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. Cobb noted on Twitter that he has not signed an exclusive deal with ROH.

After representing Guam at the 2004 Olympic games in men’s freestyle wrestling, Cobb went pro in 2009 and has been making a name for himself in various promotions across the world.

Known for his amateur credentials, power move-set and agility, Jeff Cobb has long been one of the top free agent prospects in the industry. He’s competed for New Japan Pro Wrestling, Lucha Underground, PWG, Progress, MLW and more.

Several months ago, it was reported that Impact Wrestling offered him a 2-year deal. He has independent bookings scheduled through the end of August, including an appearance for ICW on July 29th and a match against Brian Cage on August 19th for California Vagabond Wrestling.

With WWE continuously signing top independent talent and Ring of Honor looking to hold its ground and build momentum, this is a very strong acquisition for ROH.

Carmella Fires Back At Her Critics

35

Smackdown Women’s Champion, Carmella, is having a great time on social media this morning. Carmella was victorious over Asuka last night at Extreme Rules. It was her second straight victory over Asuka, having defeated her at the Money in the Bank event last month as well.

She was able to win the match after throwing Asuka head first into the shark cage which was supposed to be holding James Ellsworth.

Some of Carmella’s critics took to Twitter to let the champion know how they feel about her victory last night. Carmella was all too happy to respond to them.

“Me: (breathes) Internet: “Carmella sucks at breathing. It’s so unfair she gets to breathe more than girls who are better than her at breathing. She gets zero stars for not knowing how to breathe properly!!”

The pinned Tweet atop Carmella’s Twitter feed lists the opponents she’s beaten:

Carmella’s Smackdown Women’s Championship Reign

Carmella is the 6th person to ever win the Smackdown Women’s Championship. She won the title by cashing-in her Money in the Bank contract on Charlotte Flair during the 1st Smackdown following WrestleMania this year.

As of this writing, Carmella has held the title for 97 days, good for the 3rd longest reign of all time. Charlotte Flair holds the record for the longest reign at 147 days. Naomi holds the record for the most title defenses in a reign with 5. So far, Carmella has held the title for 97 days and defended it 4x on WWE programming (i.e not including house shows).

Naomi’s 5 title defenses are also the all-time accumulative record for the title as well.

What Happened After Extreme Rules, The Miz On Hulk Hogan’s Return

1

The Miz On Hulk Hogan’s Return

Hulk Hogan being reinstated into the WWE Hall Of Fame is probably the biggest news coming out of the wrestling world in the past few weeks or so.

However the Miz, who was taking part in the MLB celebrity softball game in Washington, DC was not aware of it, until Aaron Oster of the PressSlam podcast spoke to him.

After getting the news, The former Intercontinental Champion revealed that he was a fan of Hogan while growing up and his comments were posted by Aaron from his twitter account:

What Happened After Extreme Rules

For the surprise of many fans, The 30 Minute Iron Man Match between Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler ended up being the main event of Extreme Rules instead of the Roman Reigns vs Bobby Lashley bout.

The match where the Intercontinental Championship was on the line ended in a 4-4 Draw. After this, the Raw General Manager Kurt Angle announced sudden death overtime and Ziggler ended up retaining the title with help from Drew McIntyre.

After the show, the former Champion Rollins received a standing ovation from the crowd and people chanted ‘Thank You Rollins’ once the PPV went off air.

Vince McMahon Misses WWE Extreme Rules, Randy Orton Hidden Before His Return

12

Some interesting backstage news has surfaced about the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event.

According to a report by PWinsider.com, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was not backstage at Sunday’s (July 15, 2018) pay-per-view event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena that aired on the WWE Network, which marked the final PPV event before next month’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event. SummerSlam is widely regarded as the second biggest show of the year for the WWE just behind WrestleMania.

With McMahon not being there, Triple H was at the PPV with Billy Kidman running the show from the gorilla position. It should be noted that although McMahon missed the show, he was in communication with officials at the show, and as of this writing, there’s no word yet on if he will be backstage for this week’s RAW and SmackDown Live TV events.

Also, PWinsider.com reported that Randy Orton was hidden backstage in a bus until about 30 minutes before he made his return following the United States Title match that saw Shinsuke Nakamura beat Jeff Hardy to win the title.

Orton underwent minor knee surgery in May and had been seen in Birmingham, Alabama where was doing rehab last month gearing up for his return to the blue brand.

Masa Saito Passes Away From Parkinson’s At 76

1

Legendary wrestler, Masa Saito, has passed away at 76. He is reported to have passed away due to complications related to Parkinson’s disease over the weekend.

WWE fans will be most familiar with Saito from the tag-team he formed along with Mr. Fuji. Saito and Fuji are 2x WWF tag-team champions. He is also a former AWA World Heavyweight champion, winning the title from Larry Zbyszko in 1990. The match was held in front of 63,000 people inside the Tokyo Dome.

Saito retired from the ring in 1999 and was given a special Service Award from Tokyo Sports in recognition of his contributions to pro-wrestling. He is also the innovator of the Saito suplex.

Reactions to the Death of Masa Saito

The death of the legendary wrestler has caused an outpouring of support online.

Shinsuke Nakamura sent out the following in response to the news: “Rest in Peace the legendary Japanese wrestler Masa Saito.”

Japanese wrestling expert and author, Chris Charlton, also commented. “Masa Saito got his start in the JWA and was part of the pioneering IWE,” Charlton Tweeted. “His work in America as a liaison and trainer forged a path for so many American stars in Japan, including Hulk Hogan.”

Samoa Joe recently sent out the following:

“RIP Masa Saito. May your reigns of terror never be forgotten.”

WWE Performance Center trainer, Steve Corino, also spoke about the influence Saito had on his career.

Masa Saito was in the first tag team match I ever saw on TV 1981,” Corino Tweeted. “I was fortunate to be a fly on the wall while him and Nick Bockwinkel (I was the 3rd wheel) had lunch at our hotel in Tokyo in 2006. I was floored by how nice of a man he was. A true legend. Rest well.:

James Ellsworth WWE Contract Update

7

James Ellsworth might not be sticking around WWE for much longer. At Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view from Pittsburgh, Ellsworth once again helped Carmella defeat Asuka. He did the same thing last month when he re-appeared in the promotion at Money in the Bank, distracted Asuka, and allowed Carmella to get the win.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer, Ellsworth’s latest run with the company could already be over. “I wonder if that’s it for him,” Meltzer questioend. “He’s working independent dates everywhere. They never signed him, they never offered him a contract this time out.”

With Ellsworth on only a per-show agreement, his future with the company may consist of occasional one-off appearances. The beating he took at the hands of Asuka last night could serve as a way for WWE to write him off television for the near future.

James Ellsworth in WWE

Ellsworth first debuted with the company as one of Adam Rose’s Rosebuds in 2014. He would frequently be in Rose’s entourage when the company was in Baltimore or the surrounding area.

His first match with WWE was shortly after the brand-split in 2016. The company was utilizing occasional squash matches at the time and Ellsworth was a frequently used enhancement talent. He wrestled Braun Strowman in Pittsburgh in his first match.

Ellsworth is also said to have canceled bookings in China in order to be available for the Money in the Bank pay-per-view last month.

Hulk Hogan Announces WWE’s Superstars for Hope Campaign

5

WWE is not wasting any time plugging Hulk Hogan back into the company’s promotional machine.

WWE announced on Sunday that Hogan has been reinstated into the Hall of Fame after a 3-year suspension due to his highly publicized racism scandal.

Hogan was backstage at Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view and formally apologized to the WWE locker room for his past conduct. According to sources backstage, the cameras were rolling during Hogan’s address, which will air on a future WWE Network special.

On Monday, WWE’s YouTube channel published a video of Hogan introducing the new Superstars For Hope Campaign to benefit the Special Olympics and the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health. Hogan is encouraging fans to visit SuperstarsForHope.com, which redirects to the WWE subpage on Charitybuzz.com, a site that allows companies to list special experiences for auction (ie. lunch with a WWE Superstar), with the proceeds going to charity. There are currently no live auctions live at the the Superstars For Hope link.

Seth Rollins Reacts To Fan Chants At Extreme Rules

13

Seth Rollins had quite the response to the interesting chants during his latest match on a WWE pay-per-view.

As seen at Sunday’s (July 15, 2018) WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena on the WWE Network, the company decided to put the 30-minute Iron Man Match between Rollins and United States Champion Dolph Ziggler in the main event of a show that nearly went four hours.

Ziggler retained the WWE Intercontinental Championship despite the fact that Rollins was ahead of Ziggler three falls to zero at one point during their match. In the match, fans in Pittsburgh counted down from ten seconds each time another minute would wind down on the clock that was put up on the big screen for fans to see the match.

Not only did Rollins notice this trend but fans watching this pay-per-view from home as they were tweeting about it as they thought that the Pittsburgh fans were rude and apologizing for the crowd’s behavior.

This led to Rollins commenting on the situation by writing the following on his official Twitter account, which WWE has since retweeted:

What are your thoughts on Rollins’ comments and the crowd reaction? Sound off in the comment section.

Title Match Makes History At Extreme Rules, Matt Hardy Shares Cryptic Message

5

Title Match Makes History

Although it wasn’t the classic match people had originally expected, Dolph Ziggler did successfully retain his Intercontinental Title against Seth Rollins in the 30-minute Iron Man Match that ended up serving as the main event of Sunday’s (July 15, 2018) WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena on the WWE Network.

An interesting stat has surfaced about the match as it was the second time ever that the title by itself has main evented a WWE pay-per-view. The last time that the Intercontinental Championship main evented a show was the Bret Hart versus Davey Boy Smith match at Summerslam 1992. Historically, these title matches will be booked as the hot opener for a PPV event.

Matt Hardy Shares Cryptic Message

Matt Hardy has fans talking over the latest cryptic message he posted on his official Twitter account after he and Bray Wyatt lost the RAW Tag Team Titles to the B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) at Extreme Rules.

There is speculation online that WWE will split up Wyatt and Wyatt that will eventually lead to a match that could come as early as next month at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of WWE splitting up Bray and Matt to have them later feud with each other? Sound off in the comment section.

Kane Suffers Legitimate Injury, Title Match Set For WWE SmackDown Live

5

Kane Is Out

Unfortunately, Kane is out with a legitimate injury. Before they defended the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles at the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event on Sunday night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena on the WWE Network, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan attacked Kane and Daniel Bryan.

This led to Bryan starting out the match on his own only to have Kane come out with a walking boot on his left ankle. Harper and Rowan would later retain the titles. After the match, WWE issued an ‘injury update’ on Kane that stated that The Devil’s Favorite Demon suffered a broken ankle as a result of the attack. The pre-match attack was done to write him off of television.

Kane’s injury is legitimate and he was seen wearing a medical boot at campaign function earlier this week in Tennessee and backstage before Extreme Rules.

Title Match Announced

Jeff Hardy has demanded his rematch against Shinsuke Nakamura on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live as Nakamura will defend the United States Championship against Hardy on this show. This comes off the heels of Nakamura beating Hardy in just six seconds after hitting a low blow and his finisher at Extreme Rules.

WWE is in Wilkes Barre, PA at the Mohegan Sun Arena for this week’s episode of SmackDown Live. As of this writing, no other matches or segments have been announced for this show.

What are your thoughts on this rematch being booked so soon after Extreme Rules? Sound off in the comment section.

Hulk Hogan Backstage Speech Filmed For WWE Network

12

Hulk Hogan has been reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame. Hogan was backstage at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in Pittsburgh and met with the WWE roster.

According to a report from Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, Hogan’s meeting with the roster was filmed for a WWE Network special.

Earlier this year, WWE expressed interest in Hogan helping others to learn from his mistakes. They issued a statement echoing such sentiment shortly after Hogan was present at the Andre the Giant documentary premiere.

Hulk Hogan Backstage Meeting

“After a three-year suspension, Hulk Hogan has been reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame,” WWE’s statement reads. “This second chance follows Hogan’s numerous public apologies and volunteering to work with young people, where he is helping them learn from his mistake. These efforts led to a recent induction into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame.”

Reports are Hogan was emotional and apologetic as he spoke to the roster. He apologized for embarrassing the company and also warned the roster to be careful what they say.

His daughter, Brooke Hogan, talked about her father’s transformation in the time he’s been away.

10 Takeaways From WWE Extreme Rules 2018

40

WWE Extreme Rules aired live from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA on July 15th, 2018. On the Kickoff Show, Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated Sin Cara in impressive fashion. SAnitY defeated New Day in a Tables Match during the Kickoff Show as well.

RAW GM Kurt Angle said during the show that Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has to show up to RAW tomorrow night and determine when he is going to defend his title next or he will be stripped of the Universal Championship.

Here are 10 takeaways from WWE Extreme Rules 2018:

The B-Team Are The New RAW Tag Team Champions

B team Extreme Rules

RAW Tag Team Champions Bray Wyatt & Matt Hardy defended their titles against The B-Team (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas) to start off WWE Extreme Rules 2018. Matt Hardy and Bo Dallas start off the match and traded punches in the middle of the ring. Matt threw Dallas into the turnbuckle and unloaded a few more punches to Bo’s face. Matt connected with a Leg Drop for a two count and then Bo rolled out of the ring to regroup.

Bray Wyatt tagged into the match to battle his brother Bo. Dallas backed away and tagged in Axel as the crowd booed. Bray decked Axel with a Clothesline and then pointed at Bo on the apron. Wyatt followed it up with a headbutt to Axel’s chest and then charged at him in the corner. Axel dodged Bray and then stomped him down in the corner.

Wyatt exploded out of the corner with a Clothesline and tagged Hardy back in. Matt bounced Axel’s face off of each turnbuckle as the crowd chanted “delete!”. Hardy hit Axel with an Elbow Drop off the second rope for a two count. Bo booted Matt in the face while the referee wasn’t paying attention.

Dallas then tagged in and isolated Matt in the corner. Dueling “let’s go B-Team!” and “B-Team sucks!” chants broke out as Bo applied a Headlock in the middle of the ring. Axel got back in and planted Matt with a DDT for a two count. Hardy battled back and dropped Axel with the Side Effect.

Bo and Bray tagged in and Wyatt sent Dallas into the corner. Bray connected with a Splash and then launched Axel out of the ring. Wyatt hit Bo with a Uranage and then geared up in the corner. Hardy tagged in and Bo shoved Matt into Wyatt and Bray went tumbling out of the ring. Bo then hung up Hardy on the top rope and connected with a Neckbreaker for the pinfall victory.

Opinion: RAW’s tag division hasn’t been interesting for a while now. The B-Team isn’t going to change that and I doubt they will hold the titles for long. I’d like to see teams like The Revival and AOP built up on RAW going forward.

Balor Escaped With A Victory

Finn Balor Extreme Rules

Constable Corbin battled Finn Balor tonight at Extreme Rules. Corbin started off the match in control and beatdown Balor in the corner. Corbin dropped Finn with a Clothesline and taunted Balor by shouting that he was too small to do anything about it.

Baron hit another Clothesline for a two count. Corbin then planted Balor with a Chokeslam Backbreaker for another near fall. After Balor kicked out, Corbin flipped out and started shouting at the referee to count faster.

Corbin brought Finn back to the corner and beat the hell out of him. Finn ducked under a Clothesline and planted Corbin with a Slingblade. Finn then charged at Corbin but Baron was ready and caught Balor with Deep Six for another two count.

Finn battled back and hit Corbin with a Dropkick that knocked him to the canvas. Balor climbed to the top rope but Corbin got up and crotched him on the turnbuckle. Corbin went for the End of Days but Balor countered it into a roll-up for the pinfall victory.

Carmella Is Still SmackDown Women’s Champion

carmella extreme rules

Carmella defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Asuka tonight at Extreme Rules. James Ellsworth was suspended above the ring in a shark cage during the match.

Asuka started off the match in control and connected with a series of kicks to Carmella. Asuka went for a Body Slam but Carmella countered and slammed Asuka to the canvas. Ellsworth then dropped a chain down to Carmella but Asuka caught her before she should use it.

Carmella booted Asuka in the back and crawled towards the chain but the referee took it away. Ellsworth then dropped a spray bottle down to Carmella but Asuka once again caught her before she could use it.

Asuka connected with a knee to the face and then the Hip Attack for a two count. Asuka applied the Asuka Lock but Carmella got her foot on the rope to break the hold. Asuka planted Carmella with a Suplex to the floor outside the ring and then threw her into the barricade.

Ellsworth then picked the lock and escaped the cage but he somehow got his foot caught and was suspended upside down from the cage. Asuka hit Ellsworth with a Dropkick in the back as he was hanging above the ring.

Asuka threw WWE officials out of the ring as they tried to help out Ellsworth. She continued to beatdown Ellsworth as Carmella snuck up behind Asuka. Carmella shoved Asuka face-first into the shark cage for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Asuka attacked Ellsworth again and hit him with a couple German Suplexes. Asuka then applied the Asuka Lock to Ellsworth in the middle of the ring.

Opinion: This was worse than I thought it was going to be. I figured that Ellsworth was going to drop something down from the cage during the match. He did that right away and then goofily got himself stuck upside down. There was nothing entertaining about this and the finish to the match was a shove in the back. Asuka was undefeated and now she is losing comedy matches to Carmella.

Jeff Hardy slowly made his way back to his feet and Orton tripped him up. Orton then booted him in the groin and left the ring. It was later announced that Nakamura will defend the US Title against Jeff Hardy on Tuesday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

Kevin Owens Won After Being Chokeslammed Off The Steel Cage

kevin owens extreme rules

Braun Strowman faced Kevin Owens in a Steel Cage Match at Extreme Rules. Owens took his time coming down to the ring and hesitated before entering the cage as Strowman waited for him. Owens finally got int the cage and immediately tried to escape when the bell rang.

Strowman dragged him down and shouted at Owens to fight him. Owens hit Strowman with a right hand but Braun shrugged it off. Strowman delivered a big boot to Owens’ chest and then charged at him. Owens got out of the way and Braun crashed into the cage. Owens hit a Superkick and then a Cannonball in the corner.

Owens climbed to the top rope and hit a Frog Splash for only a one count. Owens crawled towards the door but Braun dragged him back to the middle of the ring. Owens begged for mercy but Strowman ignored him. Braun clubbed Owens across the chest and then threw him into the steel cage.

The crowd chanted “one more time!” and Strowman obliged by launching Owens into the cage once again. The chant started up again and Braun threw him into the cage for the third time.

Strowman lifted Owens up onto his shoulders and threw Owens face-first into the cage. Owens battled back and hit Strowman with a Stunner out of nowhere. Kevin made his way back to the door but Strowman grabbed his leg. Owens booted him away but Strowman caught him on the apron and slammed the steel door into Owens’ face.

Braun geared up in the corner and charged at Owens in the corner. Owens dodged him again and hit two Superkicks in a row. Owens handcuffed Strowman to the top rope and started beating him down. Braun grabbed Owens with his free hand and Chokeslammed him to the canvas.

Owens got up and told Strowman to suck it. Owens then blew Braun a kiss and started climbing up the cage. Strowman broke free of the handcuff and joined Owens on top of the cage. Strowman then grabbed Owens by the throat and Chokeslammed him off the cage and through the announce table. Thus, Owens won the match but was stretchered out of the arena as Strowman laughed on the entrance ramp.

It Is Bobby Lashley’s Yard Now

Lashley Extreme Rules

Roman Reigns battled Bobby Lashley tonight at WWE Extreme Rules. Reigns and Lashley locked up to start off the match. Lashley got the upper-hand and brought Reigns to the canvas. Roman quickly got back up but Lashley slammed him back down again.

Reigns battled back with a giant punch to the face and then brought Lashley to the corner of the ring. Roman bounced Lashley’s face off the top turnbuckle and then connected with an elbow to the face for a one count.

Roman hung up Lashley on the middle rope and connected with the Drive-By for a two count. Reigns applied a Chin Lock in the middle of the ring but Lashley quickly battled out of the hold. Reigns connected with a right hand to the face and then threw Bobby out of the ring.

Reigns followed Lashley out of the ring and launched him into the barricade as the crowd chanted “Rusev Day!”. Lashley hopped up onto the steel steps but Reigns hit him in the back and Bobby fell to the floor. Reigns then hurled Lashley into the steel steps and stood over him while the referee was counting.

Lashley stumbled back to his feet as Reigns grabbed the steel steps. Reigns tried to hit him but Lashley blocked it and leveled Roman with a Clothesline. Back in the ring, Lashley connected with another Clothesline and followed it up with a Belly to Belly Suplex. Lashley hit a Splash in the corner and went for another one but Reigns got his boot up.

Roman connected with a Clothesline of his own and then beatdown Lashley in the corner. Reigns went for another Clothesline but Lashley countered into a Powerslam for a two count. Roman hit a few forearms to the face but Lashley shrugged them off and connected with a Crossbody.

Bobby Lashley made his way to the top rope and leaped onto Reigns. Lashley then posed for the crowd and brought Reigns back to his feet. Reigns lifted Lashley onto his shoulders but Lashley grabbed onto the top rope. Roman decided to just throw Lashley out of the ring and Lashley crashed to the floor.

Lashley made his way to the ring apron and Roman greeted him with a Leg Drop for a two count. Dueling “let’s go Roman!” and “Roman sucks!” chants broke up as Reigns geared up in the corner. Roman went for the Superman Punch but Lashley countered into a Spinebuster. Lashley held up Reigns and planted him with a Vertical Suplex for a two count.

Lashley waited for Reigns to get up and went for a Spear. Reigns countered with a Superman Punch to the face for a near fall. Lashley quickly rolled out of the ring as Reigns was in shock that Bob kicked out. Roman got out of the ring on the opposite side and then sprinted towards Lashley. Bobby caught him and connected with a Belly to Belly Suplex that sent Reigns flying over the German announce table.

Back in the ring, Bobby made his way back up to the top rope as Reigns slowly got up. Reigns hit a Superman Punch on Lashley while he was on the top turnbuckle and Lashley fell to the canvas. Roman shouted that this was his yard and geared up for the Spear. Lashley countered with a Spear of his own for the pinfall victory.

Opinion: The crowd didn’t reject this match as much as I expected. To Reigns and Lashley’s credit, this was a solid match. I just don’t find Lashley all that entertaining as a character at all and don’t have any interest in seeing him compete for the Universal Championship. WWE made a good call by not having this match as the main event. I think the crowd would have completely rejected it if it was the last match on the show.

Rusev tried to lock it in once again but AJ was able to get to the bottom rope to break the hold. Aiden English tore the protective cover off the top turnbuckle to expose the steel under it while the referee wasn’t paying attention. Dolph Ziggler Won The Iron Man Match In Overtime

ziggler extreme rules

Dolph Ziggler defended the Intercontinental Championship against Seth Rollins in a 30-minute Iron Man Match tonight at Extreme Rules. Drew McIntyre was ringside for the match.

The match started off back and forth as McIntyre paced around the ring. Rollins took control and knocked Ziggler out of the ring. Dolph had a conversation with McIntyre and took his time getting back into the ring with Rollins.

Seth leveled Ziggler with a shoulder tackle and then followed it up with a Body Slam for a two count. Seth hit Dolph with a Buckle Bomb and then rolled up Ziggler for a pinfall. Seth Rollins now leads 1-0 with 25 minutes to go.

Rollins hit Ziggler with a Crossbody outside the ring and then whipped him into the barricade. The action returned to the ring and Rollins went for another Buckle Bomb. Ziggler escaped but Rollins caught him with a Curb Stomp for another fall. Rollins now leads 2-0 with 22 minutes left in the match.

Drew McIntyre hopped into the ring and attacked Rollins from behind. The referee called for the bell and Rollins went up 3-0. McIntyre didn’t stop the attack and the referee finally kicked McIntyre out from ringside. Drew hit Rollins with a Claymore kick before leaving the ring. Ziggler crawled over to Rollins and covered him. Rollins is still ahead 3-1 with 19 minutes remaining. Ziggler quickly hit a Superkick for another fall to make the score 3-2.

https://twitter.com/totaldivaseps/status/1018681335794356224

Dolph threw Rollins into the ring post and planted him with a Zig Zag for a fall to tie it at 3-3. Ziggler missed with a Splash in the corner and Rollins planted him with a Slingblade. Rollins Clotheslined Ziggler out of the ring and went for a Suicide Dive but Dolph caught him with a forearm to the face. Ziggler then covered Rollins and put his feet on the ropes for leverage for another fall. It was now 4-3 Ziggler with 15 minutes left in the match. Dolph locked in a Sleeper Hold and the match slowed down for the next few minutes.

Rollins broke the hold and Clotheslined Ziggler out of the ring. Seth hit a Suicide Dive onto Ziggler and then delivered another one on the opposite side of the ring. Rollins brought Ziggler back into the ring and hit him with a springboard Clothesline for a two count.

Seth connected with a Blockbuster off the second rope for a two count. The crowd erupted because they put the clock back on the jumbotron. They had removed it because the crowd was counting down as if it were a Royal Rumble and making a buzzing sound whenever a minute went by.

Rollins delivered a knee to the face for another two count with 8 minutes left in the match. Seth knocked Ziggler to the canvas and connected with a Frog Splash off the top rope for a two count. Rollins followed it up with a Superplex and then a Falcon Arrow for another two count. Rolllins tied it up via a roll-up with three minutes remaining in the match and then locked in a Sharpshooter. Seth then transitioned to a Crossface with 90 seconds remaining in the match.

Rollins went for a Curb Stomp but Ziggler escaped out of the ring. Dolph then hit Rollins with a Fameasser as Seth tried to get back into the ring. Ziggler went for the cover but Rollins kicked out with 30 seconds remaining. Rollins hit Ziggler with a Superkick and followed it up with a Curb Stomp. Rollins went for the cover but time ran out.

RAW GM Kurt Angle came down to the entrance ramp and announced that this match would not end in a tie and that the next fall wins. McIntyre hopped up on the ring apron to distract Rollins. Seth booted him off the apron but Dolph connected with the Zig Zag to Rollins for the pinfall victory. Ziggler won 5-4 and is still the Intercontinental Champion.

Opinion: The crowd was obnoxious during this match and made it about themselves instead of Rollins and Ziggler. There are times where a crowd can have a negative impact on a match and we saw that tonight. As for the Iron Man Match itself, I thought it was ridiculous how many falls there were early. It completely me out of the match and then the crowd completely ruined the rest of it. I didn’t have high expectations for this show, so I wasn’t let down by it. In my opinion, the match of the night was AJ Styles vs. Rusev. Owens getting thrown off the cage was a great moment, but the rest of the show didn’t do anything for me.

7 Ways WWE Superstar Buddy Murphy Got Into Cruiserweight Shape

5

It’s no secret that Buddy Murphy’s physique for the cruiserweight division was no easy feat. The former Aussie Rules football player took the time to reveal his training regiment in order to be eligible for 205 Live for Muscle and Fitness.

1) Step Up the Cardio

“At high school, I was always a very good runner. As a team, we came third in Australia for the 100m sprint, and second in the relay. I was really into athletics.”

“Intense cardio such as sprinting is a great way to increase your resting metabolic rate, meaning that your body is burning more fuel even during recovery periods.”

2) Put Cardio First

“I always do cardio before a workout. Attacking cardio before hitting the weights increases your core temperature and provides greater oxygenated blood circulation, serving the muscles better. Further benefits of doing cardio before weights include stretching the muscles prior to lifting heavier loads, setting your body up for a more productive workout.”

3) Turn Obstacles into Challenges

“Traveling from town-to-town and wrestling 200 matches per year puts a lot of obstacles in the way of staying motivated and finding the right place to train. Like many of us busy gym-goers, I could easily call it a day when the going gets tough, but I instead turn these obstacles into challenges.”

“As soon as I put my bags down in the hotel, I’ll do a search on my phone to find which local gyms are in my area. One of my favorite things about traveling is experimenting with different workouts in different gyms. If I can’t get to a Gold’s Gym and I’m stuck in a small hotel gym and it’s only got a medicine ball and a treadmill, how am I going to make sure I get a decent workout from this environment? I love that challenge.”

4) Eat Right in the Wrong Places

“It’s inevitable that we are all going to find ourselves in a gas station or a fast food restaurant at some point during our training. Hectic lifestyles dictate that we can’t always control where we eat, but we can still control what we order.”

“When I started cutting weight, I was still at home so in the initial stages I made sure to be low on calories by measuring everything out. Now that I’m back on the road with WWE and everything is so hectic I can’t travel around with scales to weigh food, so I keep it simple. If I go to Denny’s for example, I’ll order egg whites and vegetables. You just have to go with whatever is the healthiest option.”

5) Cut Out the Junk to Optimize Hormone Levels

“I felt better than ever and it turns out that this wasn’t just because of the reduced calories.”

6) Be “All In”

“You should never do anything half-heartedly.”  “Whether it’s training or pro wrestling, it has to be a lifestyle and not a hobby. And that goes for anything that you want to do in life, if you truly want to be successful at it.”

7) Keep Challenging Yourself

“I’ve knuckled down and really focused on being part of 205 Live! and now that I am here, it’s like there is light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve taken [WWE] by storm and made a name for myself, and it’s only a matter of time before I win the title.”

Natalya Talks Not Wanting To Ride Off Family’s Coattails, Hart Dungeon Prepping Her For The WWE

5

As a ten year veteran of the Women’s Division, Natalya took the time to speak to The Sun about her wrestling career.

Training in the Hart Dungeon:

“There was only one other girl in there with me and about 25 different guys coming in and out over the years. So, for the most part, there were only men to train with. We got treated all the same. I’m grateful for those days because nothing was handed to me – it made me stronger. Training with men made me tougher. I had to learn to stand on my own two feet. When I look back, it’s helped me so much. There’s nothing I can’t get through in WWE.”

Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart not initially being thrilled with her getting into wrestling:

“He was very protective. I have two sisters and he didn’t want us in the ring. When he was competing, there wasn’t a prominent women’s division. He came from a different era and he didn’t want us to get hurt. Females become more dominant in WWE with Trish Stratus and Lita, but it wasn’t until he saw me have my first match … he’s been my biggest fan ever since.”

How family has influenced her wrestling career:

“My family have influenced me heavily. I loved Owen’s style – I’m not a high flyer but I love looking back at his matches for his personality. Bret was always great at selling and he’d always make you believe. Bret was also compatible with everyone he worked with. Whoever it was, they’d always say Bret was their favorite match – from Roddy Piper to Steve Austin. And British Bulldog was so agile for a guy his size. He could do just about anything. I’m a bigger girl – sturdy and I can do a lot of power moves, but I’m also agile on my feet.

“Every time I do the surfboard submission hold I think of British Bulldog – I pay homage to him. And the Sharpshooter is me paying homage to Bret and our family’s legacy. And my father was about power. Just the way he moved around in the ring… we have a lot of the same mannerisms. I look back at old matches and think we’re so much alike. When I first started I didn’t want to do the things they did or wear the same colors because I didn’t want people to think I was riding off my family’s coattails. Now I see it differently – I’m proud of them.”
