More News On Neville’s Status With WWE

25

Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville’s wife, Natalie Satterley, recently took to Instagram to indicate that the couple has moved from Florida and returned to their native U.K.

Dave Meltzer did in fact note in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Neville has moved back to the U.K., meaning a return to WWE his highly unlikely at this point. Here’s what Satterley posted on her account:

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bf-wFtKh9UA/

Neville hasn’t been with WWE since last October when he grew frustrated with his place in the company. He was originally scheduled to be defeated by then-Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore on RAW, but decided to leave the company after learning of the finish.

Instead, Amore wound up losing the title to Kalisto. Neville has been lobbying for his release from WWE since walking out but has been unsuccessful thus far. He is currently still under WWE contract and his deal is frozen at the moment.

It’s unknown if he’s still being paid since his contract is frozen, but Dave Meltzer speculates that he likely isn’t. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more…

WWE Title-Holder Will Miss Tonight’s Monday Night RAW

3

Tonight (Mon. May 12, 2018) WWE Monday Night RAW is going down from the O2 Arena in London, England. There are some Money In The Bank (MITB) Ladder match qualifying matches set to go down, in addition to Roman Reigns confronting Jinder Mahal.

It looks like, however, RAW could be missing one of its title-holders tonight. RAW Women’s Champion Nia Jax was sent home early from the WWE’s European Tour, sparking some speculation that she could be hurt.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that Jax is fine and instead has some media obligations she needed to attend to in New York. Of course, that turned out to be true, as Jax is in New York for the NBCUniversal Upfronts.

It was there that Jax and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey began laying the groundwork for their title match at MITB next month. WWE later confirmed the news that Jax will defend her title against Rousey, so expect build-up for that match to begin soon.

John Cena Responds To EC3’s Desire For WrestleMania Match

11

John Cena has given his reaction to a challenge from EC3.

The former Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion was able to get out of his contract with Impact early, which in turn allowed him to sign with WWE. The sports entertainment company placed him in NXT, where he made his first appearance on the WWE Network at NXT Takeover: Philly.

During a recent interview with WWE.com, EC3 made it clear that he would like to wrestle the former WWE Champion at an upcoming WrestleMania event.

He was quoted by saying, “Yes. I want to vanquish John Cena at WrestleMania.”

This is a big challenge considering that WrestleMania is the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company.

Cena, who was last seen on WWE television just last month at the Greatest Royal Rumble event by beating Triple H in a singles match, responded EC3’s comments by posting this on his Instagram account:

Pete Dunne Has Big Names In Mind As Possible Opponents On WWE Main Roster

0

Pete Dunne is truly the fact of the UK scene for the sports entertainment company.

Before signing with the WWE in 2016, Dunne worked for various promotions that include Progress Wrestling, Revolution Pro Wrestling (RPW), and Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) while making a name for himself in the business.

He got his big break with the WWE when he competed in the United Kingdom Championship Tournament to crown the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion. He lost to Tyler Bate in the finals. Dunne would later beat Bate at NXT TakeOver: Chicago to win the title.

The WWE United Kingdom Champion recently spoke with Sport Bible to talk about various topics. During the interview, he was asked who he’d like to work with on the main roster if he gets called up. Here is what he had to say.

“Of course that would be great. There’s so many people I’d love to work with like Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan coming back now – there’s a huge list of people, but honestly right now my priority is making this UK show a success.

“If we can be the first sort of territory being established, almost being the guinea pig and making it work, it will do absolute wonders for the wrestling scene in general. That’s my responsibility and focus for now, and then down the line, I’d love the chance to work with people Rollins, Bryan, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.”

Ronda Rousey vs. Nia Jax Official For Money In The Bank

33

Nia Jax is ready to give Ronda Rousey real welcome to the WWE – by giving her a title shot.

On Monday as part of the NBC upfront presentations that included the WWE, Jax revealed that she will face Rousey at the upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view event on June 17.

The two superstars were actually next to each other on the red carpet during the presentation where the revelation was made that Jax challenged Rousey to a match in June.

“We are very civil and professional ladies, so Nia did just challenge me for Money in the Bank to come after her title,” Rousey told E! News on Monday. “I happily oblige respectfully, so I can sit next to her.

“We’re professionals, so when we get in there, there’s a job to be done. We’re outside of the ring, then we can still be respectful to each other. We all have the same goals. We’re all trying to lift the women’s division and to show people that we have more to offer than they’ve given us credit for in the past.”

Jax doubled down in the respect shared with Rousey when they’re both in public but she promises that will all change once they step into the ring together at Money in the Bank.

“We can still get along for now, but once we get in the ring, it’s over. All bets are off, right?” Jax added.

“I’ve never been in a ring with somebody like Ronda. She’s one of a kind, so there definitely has to be an alternation to my regimen and I’m looking forward to it.”

WWE later confirmed the matchup as Rousey will face Jax for the RAW women’s title in June.

It’s been an incredibly fast rise for Rousey after signing to join WWE earlier this year after giving up her previous career in mixed martial arts. Rousey shined in a mix-tag team match at WrestleMania 34 where she teamed with RAW general manager Kurt Angle in a bout against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

After the show was over, the match was hailed as the best for the entire event despite Rousey’s relative naivety when it comes to professional wrestling.

Now it appears WWE is looking to push Rousey directly into title contention without having a single’s match on her resume.

WWE Money in the Bank goes down on June 17 from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

Becky Lynch on 2017 Not Being the Most Successful Year For Her

15

Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was a guest on the recent episode of the Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia podcast, where she discussed a number of things. Becky talked about her friendship with Charlotte Flair, her career in the WWE, being a part of the first women’s MITB and Royal Rumble and more. You can check out the highlights from the interview below. Transcription H/T: WrestlingInc.

Now that Charlotte and Becky are on the same brand again, they are travelling and doing other things together. Lynch discusses how enjoyable it is for her to travel with her best friend again.

“It’s awesome. You know when you are traveling, you are traveling with somebody who has the same schedule and likes doing the same things. Goes to the same gym, eats at the same food places and things like that,” Lynch said. “That is one thing that makes the traveling more convenient, but also someone you can vent to all the time, or stay up with. It just makes the road life that much easier.”

Lynch was a part of the historic women’s ‘firsts’ matches last year. She says she enjoyed being a part of them but she also admits that 2017 was a very slow year for her career.

“I mean, this year has been a mixed bag because I did a lot of great things,” she said. “I achieved a lot of the goals I had set out for myself. I moved to Los Angeles, California, which I love. I got to be the lead female in Marine 6. I did some stuff with Nickelodeon, and of course we got to do the first and second ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. We’ve had the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble and Women’s WrestleMania Battle Royal, so there’s some great points there.

“Being somebody who is ambitious and complacent,” she continued, “I know I won’t look at 2017 as my most successful year. I wasn’t on television and featured in storylines as much as I would like to be, but of course that sets you up for the following year where we say to ourselves, ‘Okay, that may not be what I wanted, but how can we kick down the door and makes sure that 2018 is going to be better and bigger?'”

John Cena Says He Wants To Marry Nikki Bella & Have Kids Together (Video)

32

John Cena appeared on NBC’s Today show on Monday morning and dropped some bombshells regarding his recent break-up with fiancee Nikki Bella.

During the interview, Cena revealed his heart was “broken out of nowhere” when Nikki ended their engagement. Despite photos circulating online of Cena apparently enjoying the single life, Cena says that is simply not the case and he’s heartbroken.

“I love her. I want to be with her. I want to make her my wife. I want to be the father of her children. I just want us to work.”

Cena feels that Nikki might need time to figure out what she wants. There was a long period of time that he didn’t want children, but he’s a changed man. He said he is honored by the time he had with her and that they still speak and he really hopes things will get resolved.  He said he was never in love before her and he still loves her.

WWE Championship Match Set For Money In The Bank, Updated Card

3

A new match has been officially announced for the upcoming WWE Money in the Bank PPV.

On Monday morning, WWE SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon revealed in a post on his official Twitter account that AJ Styles would defend the WWE Title against Shinsuke Nakamura at the Money in the Bank PPV.

It should be noted that although McMahon did not mention a stipulation for the match, WWE will likely add one during this week’s episode of SmackDown Live in London, England at the O2 Arena.

Styles and Nakamura have wrestled each other three times over the last month. Styles successfully retained the title against Nakamura at WrestleMania 34, they went to a double count-out at both the Greatest Royal Rumble and Backlash events.

Report: Ronda Rousey To Wrestle At Money In The Bank

11

We now know the next time that Ronda Rousey will wrestle at a WWE PPV event.

POST Wrestling is reporting that the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion is currently scheduled to wrestle at WWE’s Money in the Bank event.

Rousey made her WWE in-ring debut by teaming up with Kurt Angle to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a Mixed Tag Team Match at WrestleMania 34 last month.

Although this report did not mention who she would be facing at this upcoming event, it could be against Mickie James. Rousey wrestling at Money in the Bank should be considered a rumor for now until WWE confirms the news.

The reason for this speculation is due to the fact that Rousey will wrestle James at four WWE live events as part of the current UK Tour.

It would make sense for Rousey to wrestle James in her first singles match with WWE as if you recall, WWE had Rousey’s match at Mania rehearsed to the point where each spot was laid out. With Rousey and James working four times together before Money in the Bank, it would allow them time to get a match put together in a structured way.

Those dates where Rousey vs. James is advertised to take place include on May 16th in Geneva, Switzerland on May 17th in Vienna, Austria on May 18th in Turin, Italy, and on May 19th in Paris, France

The Money In The Bank pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets. Both Raw and SmackDown brands will be featured.

All-In Sells Out In Under 30 Minutes

30

All in on September 1st, 2018, from the Sears Center in Chicago, will be the biggest non-WWE wrestling show in the United States or Canada since the closing of WCW in 2001.

Yesterday, all 10,000 tickets to the event were sold in under 30 minutes. Many are rejoicing at the news today as it signifies just how successful non-WWE wrestling can be in the current era.

Several wrestlers have sent out messages commending Cody and the Young Bucks. Others are calling the sellout one of the most significant accomplishments in modern-day pro-wrestling.

All-In Sells Out In Less Than 30 Minutes

Some fans are upset scalpers purchased a good chunk of tickets to the event, however. Unfortunately, this is a reality for all ticketed events which are expected to sell-out.

Friday’s ROH show in Toronto was sold-out and tickets were available on the secondary market for 4x face value. Ticketmaster and other outlets have methods in place to limit how many tickets scalpers can purchase but there is only so much they can do.

Cody Challenging For NWA World Heavyweight Championship at All-In

At yesterday’s press conference, Billy Corgan announced the NWA World Heavyweight Championship will be defended at All In. The challenger will be none other than Cody himself. The title belt owned by Billy Corgan and held by Nick Aldis played a significant role in Cody’s father’s career. It is fitting that Cody would challenge for it at such a significant event in his own career.

A question which will probably go on unanswered until the event itself is what will happen if Cody wins the championship? It’s not clear if he would take the belt with him to Ring Of Honor. The NWA World Heavyweight Championship has been defended in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where Cody also works, on multiple occasions.

The events at All-In may go a long way in determining how closely promotions such as ROH, the NWA, as well as Impact and Lucha Underground are able to work together.

Rey Mysterio Is All In

28

Rey Mysterio is the latest big name to be announced for All In.

  • Kazuchika Okada

  • Hangman Page
  • Pentagon Jr.
  • Ray Fenix

Cody To Challenge For NWA Championship At All In

14

NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis will put the 10 pounds of gold on the line against Cody at All In.

It’s the first official match for what’s shaping up to be the biggest independent wrestling show of 2018.

The announcement was made by Billy Corgan at Sunday’s All In press conference.

All In takes place on Saturday night, September 1st from the Sears Center Arena outside Chicago, Illinois.

Hulk Hogan Wants To Return ‘Home’ To Never Leave Again

16

While we have heard multiple rumors about a possible WWE return for Hulk Hogan in recent times, so far they have all proven to be just speculations.

During a recent interview with The Miami Herald, Hogan talked about NWO’s effect on Wrestling, the connection between Ronda Rousey and Roddy Piper and more.

When asked about a possible WWE return, the Hulkster recalled his start in the company and said that he would like to go back one last time and never leave again:

“Well, never say never. That would be a dream come true for me to go back home. I started many, many years ago in 1977, 78 for Vince McMahon Sr., and I’ve been back-n-forth several times. So I’d like to go back one last time and stay there and never leave home again…”

The latest rumor we heard about Hogan came earlier this month and it said that his return is close to being a done deal, though it did not reveal a timetable for his comeback.

Hulk Hogan was released from WWE back in 2015 after the infamous racial slur controversy. Releasing a statement on his release, the company had said that they are “committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds”

Jim Cornette On What WWE Should Have Done For Stars Who Missed Greatest Royal Rumble

31

WWE’s recent Greatest Royal Rumble event took place amidst controversies as on one hand, it featured some of the biggest names the company has to offer, on the other, several stars were forced to miss the show.

During a recent interview with Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline, Jim Cornette talked about the Mega Live event among other things.

While talking about the stars who were forced to miss the show, Cornette said that the company should have given them a good sum of money because WWE itself made tens of millions:

” Sami Zayn, they don’t want you, so I tell you what. I’m gonna give you 50 grand, go buy you a brand new SUV and you don’t have to make that flight. And girls: here you go. Here’s a brand new sports car for all of y’all and you don’t have to make that flight and get beat up.”

For those who don’t know, the Greatest Royal Rumble did not feature any Women’s matches due to the cultural restriction of Saudi Arabia. Similarly, Sami Zayn was apparently forced to miss the show due to diplomatic reasons.

It’s worth mentioning here that there have been reports of WWE paying the Women’s roster a good bonus for the event despite the fact that they were not included in the show but these claims have not been confirmed by a reputed source yet.

Championship Match Teased For Raw, Fans On Stipulation For AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura Match

6

Fans on stipulation for AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura made it clear that he and AJ Styles are not finished yet during the latest episode of SmackDown Live and it’s very likely that they’ll have at least one more match in near future.

WWE.com recently held a poll asking fans about the stipulation they want to see in the next match between the WWE Champion and the Japanese Star.

As of this writing, A Last Man Standing match is leading the poll with 33% votes followed by an Iron Man Match at 31% and an Extreme Rules match at 18%.

Championship Match Teased For Raw

It appears that the Intercontinental Championship open challenge of Seth Rollins could continue on next week’s episode of Raw as well and we can see another title match taking place at the show.

Rollins recently made a post from his Official Twitter account saying that he is highly considering to hold another open challenge this Monday in London:

Seth Rollins promised to be a fighting champion while celebrating his Backlash victory over the Miz during the latest episode of Raw and said that he doesn’t want to be like the former Title holder.

Living up to his promise, Rollins then issued an open challenge to anyone in the locker room. The challenge was answered by Mojo Rawley who was defeated by the Champion after a decent bout.

Update On Dean Ambrose’s Rehab, Natalya On Granting Wishes

5

Natalya On Granting Wishes

Raw Star Natalya recently wrote a blog post for CalgarySon.com where she talked about how the work they do with Make A Wish foundation makes working for WWE the best job in the world.

Below is an excerpt from the post in which the former Champion discusses how granting her first wish was a life-changing experience. The full article she wrote can be read here:

“When I granted my first “wish,”, it was life-changing for me. I couldn’t believe that a child who had the option of meeting anyone in the world wanted to meet me. I was so humbled and flattered. For me, and many other WWE Superstars, our mission is bringing happiness to those who most need it.”

Update On Dean Ambrose’s recovery

Not much has been said about Dean Ambrose’s status since he suffered a triceps injury back in December last year and the only thing WWE revealed was that he will be out of action for 9 months.

Now giving a minor update on his recovery, PWinsider is reporting that Dean Ambrose has been “pretty much living full-time in Birmingham, Alabama.” in an attempt to intensify his rehab.

What’s interesting to note here is that during a recent Q&A session, Kurt Angle was asked about Ambrose’s return and he claimed that The Lunatic Fringe will be back ‘very soon’.

While it’s not confirmed if these comments actually mean anything, considering the fact that Dean was also pulled out from WrestleMania Axxess without a proper explanation, many have started wondering if the reported timetable for his return is a work.

The Miz Explains Why Daniel Bryan Is Not Ready To Face Him

8

While fans have been wanting to see a Daniel Bryan vs. the Miz feud for a long time now, it appears that the A-Lister is not very excited about a rivalry between him and the former SmackDown General Manager.

Miz recently had an interview with Sports Illustrated where he talked about the idea behind Red Nose Day, his highly praised Backlash match with the Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins and more.

When asked about possibly having a feud with Daniel, the newest SmackDown member explained why the former World Champion is not ready to face him yet:

“I am showcasing top-level talent, and maybe in a year or maybe in two years, he’ll be at that level. But right now, he’s not at that level. He’s just going on the fame he had four years ago. Things changed. So when Daniel Bryan is ready, and I feel that he is ready, that’s when the match will happen. Until then, he’s not ready for me.”

This explanation from the on-screen persona of the former IC Champion is another example why he is considered one of the best heels in the current roster.

It’s not confirmed when we’ll finally witness the culmination of this rivalry which has been going on for a couple of years now. But seeing Miz’s comments, it’s safe to say that their match, whenever it happens, will be an exploding one.
