Bret Hart Suing Doctor For $1 Million After Botched Surgery

4

WWE Hall Of Famer Bret Hart has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Dr. Justin Yeung for what he is claiming was a botched wrist surgery, per a report from the CalgarySun.com. Hart reportedly got surgery on his right wrist two years ago in relation to an injury he sustained back in 1981 where he chipped his scaphold (one of eight small bones in the writs) in a wrestling match.

When Hart visited Dr. Yeung he claimed that he could repair the wrist with a partial fusion of the wrist bones. The surgery took place on November 23rd in 2015. Six weeks later Hart returned to Dr. Yeung’s office to have three pins removed and also complained about pain and swelling in his wrist. He also complained that his thumb and index finger would not function.

Yeung reportedly told Hart to wait and see how it healed, however, the pain and immobility of his fingers continued through visits in March, April, and August. Hart now claims that Yeung and his team were negligent and breached their responsibility to care for him. He is also claiming that Yeung and his team left a tourniquet on his right arm for far too long, which cut off circulation to his nerves and tendons on his right index finger and thumb.

As a result, those fingers were injured and immobilized by the lack of oxygen they were receiving. Hart claims he is now unable to perform in recreational and social activities as a result of the injury; including actions such as using pens, pencils, eating utensils and dressing himself without assistance. Hart underwent another surgery in October, however, the affects of that are not yet known.

Hart is seeking $1 million in general damages plus unspecified amounts for loss of income and other losses. No statement of defense disputing the allegations has been filed as of this writing.

Triple H Comments on Possibly Being Cheered Over Jinder in India

22

Triple H spoke with ESPN yesterday to hype WWE’s upcoming tour of Abu Dhabi and India. During the course of the interview, he commented on the possibility of being cheered over Jinder Mahal in India.

Triple H Interview Highlights

On possibly being cheered over Jinder in India:

“I don’t know. I’m a lot better at being the villain,” Levesque said. “It would be interesting to see when we get there. I’ve been cheered and I’ve been booed. If the fans want to support me because they have been watching me for the last 20-plus years, that’s great.”

On if the fans in India like Jinder:

“When I was in India, a lot of people asked about him (Mahal) and what I thought about him. Did I respect him? A lot of people have mixed feelings about Jinder Mahal as a representative. In some ways he represents India, but a lot of people don’t like the way he represents himself as a WWE superstar.”

“The question was asked so many times that I thought what better way to prove what I thought than stepping into the ring with him. If Jinder wants to prove it to the fans in India, there could be no better way than by doing it against me there.”

On why he still wrestles:

“It’s still fun for me. It’s still something I enjoy. And it’s something that I will always enjoy. It’s fun to get out there and remember why you enjoy this in the first place.”

Next WWE UK Championship Match Being Teased Online

1

Pete Dunne’s next challenger for the WWE UK Championship seems to be all but confirmed. Over the last few PROGRESS Chapter events fellow WWE UK Star Joseph Conners has made it his goal to hound and harass Dunne.

This was all part of Conner’s PROGRESS debut feud and it looks as though the company is lining up a WWE UK Championship match between the two men, it isn’t exactly unprecedented as the WWE UK title was defended at one of PROGRESS’ Wrestlemania weekend shows earlier this year.

You can see the war of words between Dunne & Conners via Twitter below:

Rob Van Dam’s Concussion History Preventing WWE Return

10

Documents obtained through Rob Van Dam’s divorce proceedings have revealed the 47-year-old is unable to return to WWE. According to documents filed by his lawyers, RVD suffered permanent vision loss due to a concussion suffered last November for PCW in California.

This vision loss and history of concussions, his lawyer contends, will prevent him from ever competing inside a WWE ring again.

Rob Van Dam’s Divorce

RVD is going through divorce proceedings with his ex-wife, Sonia. The two had been married from 1998-2015. The purpose of RVD’s filings was to show his income level has been “substantially reduced” since the time he and Sonia were married. The filings also report that RVD’s merchandise contract with WWE ran out in July.

Since 2016, RVD has been linked to independent wrestler, Katie Forbes.

‘Woken’ Matt Hardy Video Surpasses 1 Million YouTube Views in 1 Day

19

‘Woken’ Matt Hardy made his official debut this past Monday on RAW when he appeared during a pre-taped promo interrupting Bray Wyatt.

Fans who were concerned that WWE may not ‘get’ the gimmick and resign it to the scrapheap need not worry…the YouTube post of the video has gained over a million views in one day (1,283,911 at the time of writing) and appeared in the top 25 trending videos on the whole of YouTube.

Just for some perspective, the Roman Reigns vs Jason Jordan match from the same show is currently sitting at 1.3 Million views.

That’s either delightful…or Vanguard 1 has been hacking the internet.

Johnny Impact and Taya Sign New Contracts with Impact Wrestling

3

On the heels of Don Callis being added to the Impact Wrestling management team, 2 of the promotion’s biggest stars have signed new contracts. The deals should see both performers (who are engaged) continue to play prominent roles for the company.

Don Callis mentioned that both Taya Valkyrie and Johnny Impact (Hennigan/Mundo/Morrison/Nitro) were re-signed to the company on the latest “Killin’ the Town” podcast.

A report from PWInsider is stating the deal will allow Taya and Johnny to perform for both Impact and film seasons of Lucha Underground.

Major Changes at Impact Wrestling

In addition to hiring Don Callis, the company has also parted ways with John Gaburick and Dutch Mantel.

Impact also recently announced a complete reversal on their previous policy of holding the Intellectual Property rights of any characters created on their show.

2 days ago (i.e before his hiring was officially announced) Callis casually pointed out he won control of TNA Wrestling in 2003 by defeating Eric Watts.

Cody on When 10,000 Seat Arena Location Will Be Announced

5

Cody (Rhodes) spoke with ESPN yesterday and confirmed the Bullet Club will be making an announcement in 2 weeks regarding the location of their self-financed show.

“We’ll have a date and a place within two weeks. That’s why I went ahead and commented on the original story, because it’s far enough along in the process that people need to know it’s happening. I was confident enough to say let’s do it. Matt and Nick were confident enough to say let’s do it, but this is something that hasn’t been done. A lot of things have to happen. I think I’m most excited about the creation process. Putting this together with those two guys myself. Some of the stuff that we’ve already got on board — not talent-based, but as far as people who are involved with this and people who have put some confidence in us, it’s just crazy.” — Cody [Rhodes], to ESPN.com’s Michael Wonsover.

Possible Locations for “All In”

Locations talked about for the event include San Francisco, Ontario CA, London, Toronto, and Chicago.

Roman Reigns On Beating The Undertaker

1

WWE Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns recently had an interview with Sportskeeda‘s Riju Dasgupta while promoting the upcoming WWE Live Event in India. During the interview, Reigns talked about facing the Undertaker and more. Below are some highlights from it:

How he felt about beating the Undertaker at WrestleMania:

“You know, the magnitude of retiring The Undertaker, possibly being one of his last matches. For me, it was quite heavy. Everything felt very smooth and good, going into it. And you know, once we got to that stage, it was a lot more emotional than we thought it could be. I’m proud and honoured to be a part of his career, and to be the last chapter in his book. Just very grateful that I got to work with him, learn from him and especially for this new generation, there’s not many of us that can say we did that. So, it’s cool to be in that group.”

What it means for him to become the Intercontinental Champion:

” It was extremely important for me. Not just a checklist of holding all the titles, working towards the grand slam achievement, but just the fact that it is known as the ‘workhorse title’. That title has been known to be present at every single TV, every single live event. I don’t care who I’m wrestling. As long as someone’s willing to get in there, compete and push me, I believe iron sharpens iron. If you want to get in there with me, just be willing to step up. That’s the thing. I’m a fighting champion.”

Becoming a Grand Slam champion:

“It’s really neat. I’m so driven at this point that it feels really good, but I still know that there’s another out there. Even though, with the new generation, the new era, you can switch it up due to creative and storyline but that Universal Championship is still very important to me. Right now, the most important thing and priority is to represent this Intercontinental title. That’s my goal, to make it ‘the’ title, not only on RAW, but in WWE. It’s what everybody wants to see. Everybody wants to see Roman Reigns defend the IC Championship. That’s what I want. That’s the reputation of this title.”

His message for Indian fans:

“I just want to say, last time I came, they were excellent. I felt that, it was real. I felt goosebumps being there, it gives me goosebumps thinking about it right now. I just want to say thank you for the way they received me last year. We’re going to come there and we’re going to give it our all. That’s all we can do. It’s going to be a great show, and I hope they can enjoy it. We’re looking forward to it. Can’t wait to get there.”

NJPW Star Michael Elgin Makes Scathing Comments Towards Tag Partner Jeff Cobb

7

New Japan are currently hosting their final tour before the big January 4th spectacular from the Tokyo Dome. The ‘World Tag League’ sees performers from across the globe join forces to go for the coveted prize; a shot at the IWGP Tag Team Titles.

Jeff Cobb and Michael Elgin are one of the teams on the tour, Matt Riddle had previously been scheduled to join Cobb however New Japan officials reportedly nixed this plan due to Riddle’s past drug use.

It has now come to light that Elgin is not exactly a huge fan of his WTL partner, the tweet below from Twitter user MOses Malone shows private conversations between herself and Elgin exposing the bad blood and as you can see Cobb has replied…we’ll keep you updated as this situation develops.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Getting Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

5

Arguably pro wrestling’s biggest ever mainstream attraction is now being immortalised on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

That’s right, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will be receiving his star next week (December 13th) in a ceremony as part of the ‘motion pictures’ category. Walk of Fame ceremonies producer Ana Martinez made the following statement regarding the WWE superstar:

“Not only does Dwayne have a great personality and talent, but he also does a great amount of philanthropic work which is part of the criteria for earning an immortal spot on the Walk of Fame. We envision scores of photos being taken at his star by his fans.”

The Rock and Vince McMahon are the only two WWE stars currently on the famous ‘Walk,’ do you see anyone joining them in the coming years? John Cena possibly?

5 Takeaways From WWE SmackDown (12/5)

0

The December 5th episode of WWE SmackDown aired live from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, CA. Here are 5 takeaways from this week’s episode of SmackDown:

Shane McMahon Announced Tag Match For Clash Of Champions

samizaynsmackdown 12 5

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn kicked off this week’s episode of SmackDown. Owens welcomed the audience to the “Sami and Kevin Show”. Owens referred to himself as a victim of a McMahon family vendetta. The crowd chanted “you suck!” and Zayn told the crowd to show some respect.

Owens and Zayn compared their vendetta against the McMahons to Stone Cold, Bret Hart and Daniel Bryan. Owens stated that he and Zayn were better than those guys anyway and brought up Shane McMahon. Owens claimed that Shane tried to end his career by using his vessel of destruction, Randy Orton.

Owens complained about Randy Orton constantly getting opportunities from the McMahon family while he and Zayn have to scrap for everything they have. Owens said that he had to show the world that he is not afraid of Randy Orton and also had to outsmart Shane McMahon. Owens added that it is not that hard to outsmart a man that is so blinded by his shortcomings like Shane McMahon.

Zayn explained that he did not break the rules last week when he was barred from ringside because he was on the entrance ramp. Zayn did so by dancing around on the entrance ramp and poking fun at the crowd while doing so. Zayn boasted about attacking Randy Orton with a steel chair. Sami continued to boast about Owens’ victory last week when Randy Orton entered the ring from the crowd and hit Owens with an RKO.

Shane McMahon’s music hit and Shane came down to the entrance ramp. Zayn backed up in fear but stopped before entering the ring because Randy Orton was waiting for him inside. Shane announced that Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will be facing Randy Orton and a partner of his choosing at Clash of Champions. Shane added that Sami Zayn will also be facing Randy Orton tonight and that Kevin Owens will be handcuffed to the ring ropes.

Owens and Zayn were then shown backstage. Zayn informed Kevin Owens that he will be handcuffed to the ropes. Zayn called it inhumane and Owens said that he was going to talk to SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan to try and get this fixed.

Aiden English & Rusev Picked Up A Huge Victory

english and rusev smackdown 12 5

Aiden English and Rusev faced New Day tonight on SmackDown. Big E and Kofi Kingston controlled the match early as SmackDown went to a commercial break. During the break, Rusev took control and launched Kofi out of the ring.

Big E was tagged in when SmackDown returned and he took control of the match. Aiden English raked Big E’s eyes and tagged in Rusev. Big E shook it off and slammed Rusev to the mat. Rusev pulled Big E out of the ring and slammed him into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Kingston was distracted by English on the ring apron. Rusev then booted Kingston in the back of the head for the pinfall victory.

English and Rusev picked up a big victory tonight over New Day. It was announced that The Usos will be defending their SmackDown Tag Team Championships in a Triple Threat match at Clash of Champions against New Day and Gable & Benjamin. After English and Rusev won tonight, it was announced that they will be added to the Tag Team Championship match at Clash of Champions.

It seems like WWE is obsessed with Fatal 4-Way matches as of late. I will say that I find English and Rusev entertaining and that I’m glad that they are in this match. SmackDown has a bunch of talented teams on their roster, but the tag division still feels like it is The Usos and New Day and then everyone else. The Bludgeon Brothers are being built up properly as they squashed another jobber team tonight. I’d like to see Breezango actually featured in the ring and for WWE to build them up as a viable team as well. SmackDown’s tag division could be one of the highlights of the show every week, but instead it is usually a five or six minute match and an episode of the Fashion Files.

Dolph Ziggler Sent A Message Heading Into Clash Of Champions

ziggler corbin roode smackdown 12 5

Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode had a conversation backstage. Corbin and Roode complained about Ziggler being added to the match. Dolph said that he was added the match because he is a two time Wold Champion and deserved it. Ziggler also took a shot at Corbin and said that he cashed in his MITB contract successfully.

Later on SmackDown, Bobby Roode faced United States Champion Baron Corbin. Ziggler joined commentary and bragged about being so good at what he does that WWE needed him to be a part of the United States Championship match at Clash of Champions.

Roode controlled the match early and Dropkicked Corbin out of the ring. Corbin connected with a big punch that knocked Roode to the canvas. Corbin then hit a flurry of right hands to Roode’s face and then took a break to shout at the crowd. Corbin hit a Clothesline that knocked Roode to the mat and then applied a Chin Lock.

Roode broke free and connected with a few chops to Corbin’s chest. Both Superstars went for a Clothesline at the same time and fell to the canvas. Ziggler took off his headset and got into the ring. Dolph delivered a Zig Zag to Roode and then laughed while standing over him. Ziggler then hit a Zig Zag on Corbin and stood tall in the ring.

I don’t have any interest in the Triple Threat match at Clash of Champions at all right now. Everything is just wrong in this match in my opinion. Bobby Roode needs to be a heel, he is just not nearly as entertaining as he was in NXT as a face on SmackDown right now. Baron Corbin struggled in a feud with Sin Cara recently and feels like a paper champion. Dolph Ziggler is Dolph Ziggler. I don’t know how many times I thought that it was finally Dolph Ziggler’s time and it just never happened for him.

The only thing I’d be interested in is if Roode wins the title and then the power goes to his head and he turns heel. Until that happens, there is really nothing to be invested in here. I’m sure the match will be entertaining, but like all matches it would have benefited from an interesting build.

Charlotte vs. Natalya Is Now A Lumberjack Match

clash of champions lumberjack match

Lana, Tamina and Carmella were complaining backstage to SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan about not being involved in the Women’s Championship match at Clash of Champions. The Riott Squad showed up and they started complaining as well. Liv Morgan stated that Daniel Bryan didn’t like blondes. Sarah Logan said that Daniel Bryan was prejudice against southerners because she was from Kentucky. Ruby Riott added that Daniel Bryan was afraid of her tattoos and that is why they weren’t involved in the title match at the PPV.

The six women started shouting at each other and Daniel Bryan screamed “stop!” at the top of his lungs. Bryan then announced that the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Charlotte and Natalya at Clash of Champions is now a Lumberjack match.

Later on SmackDown, Natalya tried to suck up to all of the Lumberjacks backstage. Charlotte faced Tamina as Lana and Natalya were ringside. Tamina controlled the match early and Natalya applauded her efforts as SmackDown went to a commercial break. When SmackDown returned, Charlotte quickly took control and locked in the Figure Eight for the submission victory.

After the match, Natalya grabbed the microphone and told Charlotte to enjoy her last taste of victory. Natalya vowed to take the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Clash of Champions. The Riott Squad came down to the entrance ramp. Ruby said that they should give Charlotte a preview of what is going to happen at Clash of Champions. The Riott Squad made their way to the ring and a brawl broke out. Charlotte escaped and posed with the title on the entrance ramp.

Ruby Riott is solid on the microphone, I can’t say the same for Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. I don’t even know what the hell Sarah Logan was trying to say tonight during this segment. The Riott Squad feels like the straight-to-DVD version of Absolution and Absolution isn’t all that entertaining either. I honestly would have preferred a simple match between Natalya and Charlotte than the predictable chaos that is going to happen during the Lumberjack match at Clash of Champions.

Shane McMahon Still Intends To Fire Owens & Zayn

shane daniel bryan smackdown 12 5

SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan escorted Kevin Owens down to the ring and told him that he will be suspended if he doesn’t get handcuffed to the ring ropes. Owens agreed but threw a tantrum once he was handcuffed to the ropes. Owens shouted at Daniel Bryan that he is better than this and that Shane McMahon has a vendetta against them.

Orton started off the match by launching Zayn over the announce table and then slamming him into the barricade. Zayn ran away from Orton and received a pep talk from Owens outside the ring. Zayn got back in the ring and Orton punched him in the face. Orton brought Zayn back outside and slammed him into the barricade again. Orton bounced Sami’s face off the announce table a few times and then dropped him on top of the announce table again.

Randy threw Zayn back into the ring and Owens began shouting at him. Orton walked towards Owens but Sami connected with a Dropkick through the ropes. Zayn beatdown Orton for the next few minutes in the ring. Sami threw Orton out of the ring and Owens taunted him by shouting “where is your RKO now?” as SmackDown went to a commercial break.

When SmackDown returned, Sami threw Orton into the turnbuckle but Randy powered out of the corner and connected with a Clothesline. Orton followed it up with a Powerslam and Zayn rolled to the ring apron. Zayn grabbed bolt cutters from under the ring and tried to free Owens but Orton attacked him from behind. Orton shoved Owens into the ring post and Zayn punched Orton in the back of the head.

The action returned to the ring and Zayn climbed to the top rope. Orton shoved him and Sami fell crotch-first onto the top turnbuckle. Orton planted Sami with a Superplex off the top rope and the crowd chanted “this is awesome!”. Owens used the bolt cutters and broke free from the handcuffs. Orton leveled Owens with a Clothesline and then planted Zayn with a DDT while he was hung up between the ropes.

Orton then tried to DDT Owens but Zayn rolled Orton up for a two count. Zayn went for the Helluva Kick but Orton got out of the way and rolled up Sami Zayn for the pinfall victory. After the match, Owens attacked Orton from behind. Zayn got in on the fun and started stomping on Orton.

Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme hit and Shinsuke sprinted to the ring. Nakamura booted Owens and Zayn in the face. Nakamura then delivered the Kinshasa to Owens and Orton planted Zayn with an RKO. Orton and Nakamura then shook hands in the ring as Orton’s theme played. Nakamura then picked Orton up off the canvas and Orton planted him with an RKO. Orton then picked up Sami Zayn from the mat and Shinsuke connected with the Kinshasa.

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan had a conversation backstage. Daniel Bryan asked Shane if he was done punishing them. Shane said that he was just getting warmed up and announced that he will be the special guest referee during the tag match at Clash of Champions between Orton & Nakamura versus Zayn & Owens. Shane added that if Owens and Zayn lose, they will be fired from WWE. Shane walked away and SmackDown went off the air with the camera on Daniel Bryan.

This storyline is pretty much the only thing I am invested in on SmackDown right now. I thought it was going to be an underwhelming ending to SmackDown when Nakamura came out and saved Randy Orton. I figured that Nakamura was going to be Orton’s partner at Clash of Champions. However, the interaction between Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon to close the show was very interesting to me.

WWE has been hinting at a power struggle between Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon and it looks like things are going to come to a head at Clash of Champions. It is an interesting dynamic because both Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon are fan favorites. I just want to see how this storyline plays out, it really is the only thing that is interesting right now on SmackDown in my opinion.

Sami adds that not too long ago it was his sister Stephanie using Orton this way on RAW, so it’s nothing new. Owens says they have to fight for their opportunities, while Orton is handed his. Sami talks trash to some of the announcers and other ringside personnel, then walks around to the ramp and shows where he destroyed Orton last week. As Owens is watching from the ring, Orton suddenly appears out of nowhere and hits an RKO on Kevin. Sami is stunned on the ramp and Orton stares him down. Shane McMahon comes out to try to calm things down, and gets on the mic and says he doesn’t have a vendetta against Sami or Kevin. Shane says he’s giving them a chance at the Clash of Champions in two weeks to team up against Orton and a partner of his choosing. Also, Shane books Zayn vs. Orton tonight to settle the score from last week. Shane adds that Owens will be handcuffed to the ring rope for the match, and wishes Sami good luck. Owens is still recovering in the ring as Shane’s music hits and he leaves.

– We go backstage where Owens asks Sami to explain what Shane just said. Owens isn’t happy about having to be handcuffed to the rope during Sami’s match against Orton. Owens says he’s going to go find SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan to make this right.

The New Day vs. Rusev & Aiden English: Before the match, English treats everyone to a song about the 12 Days of Rusev for Christmas. The New Day Interrupts, and it’s on. Big E and Kofi are in this one, and Xavier is watching from ringside with Francesca. Big E overpowers English early on and grinds on him, then slams him down. Kofi tags in and continues the offense on English. Kofi hits a springboard crossbody for a near fall, then continues the beat down. Kofi goes for the Boom Drop, but Rusev pulls English out of the way. Rusev and English take a breather on the floor while the New Day taunt them from the ring. Rusev tags in and takes control of the match against Kofi. Big E and English tag in and Big E gets the better of their exchange and starts nailing suplexes. Big E dances then hits the big splash on English. Big E looks for the Big Ending, but English rakes the eyes. Rusev tags in, but Big E catches him off guard with a suplex for a two count. Kofi tags in, but Rusev pulls Big E outside and whips him into the ring steps. Kofi comes flying out of the ring with a suicide dive on Rusev on the floor, then takes him back in the ring. Kofi boots English off the apron, then comes for Rusev but Rusev takes him down. Rusev hits a big boot to the back of the head for the win.

Winners: Rusev and Aiden English

– We see footage of Mojo Rawley turning on Zack Ryder last week, and then we go to an interview with him and Renee Young. Mojo says Ryder got hurt right when things were going well for Mojo, and when he returned he was dead weight and just held him back. Mojo says he’s a serious competitor, and he’s not just someone’s tag partner. Mojo says he wants to issue a challenge to the locker room — if they don’t like him beating down Ryder from behind last week, they can fight him over it.

– Orton vs. Zayn, with Owens handcuffed to the ring rope, is promoted for later tonight.

– Daniel Bryan is backstage with Carmella, Lana and Tamina. Carmella says she rid the world of James Ellsworth, so she deserves a title shot at Clash of Champions. Lana then makes the case for Tamina deserving the spot. Bryan says Natalya vs. Charlotte is already officially made for the PPV, and then The Riott Squad walks in. Ruby Riott says she pinned Flair so she should get the title shot. They women start arguing until Bryan yells at them and says the women’s title match at Clash will now be a lumberjack match, with all of them at ringside.

– Bobby Roode and U.S. Champ Baron Corbin exchange words backstage ahead of tonight’s non-title match. Dolph Ziggler walks in and talks about being added to their match at Clash, and he pokes fun at Corbin’s failed Money In The Bank cash-in attempt this year. Ziggler says Corbin and Roode’s odds of winning at Clash just dropped to 0, and he’ll see them in Boston.

The Bludgeon Brothers vs. Adam James & Josh Carr: Rowan starts this one off and immediately drops one of the enhancement talents with a kick. Harper knocks the other jobber off the apron and decks him with a big lariat. Harper rolls back in and helps Rowan beat down the legal man now. Rowan picks up his own partner Harper and slams him ontop of the legal enhancement talent. Harper now tags in for their double team finisher for the win after a short squash match. Rowan and Harper stand tall in the ring as we go to replays.

Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers

– We see a behind-the-scenes video package of Charlotte working on the “Psych” movie on the USA Network this Thursday.

– Sami is backstage with Owens again, and he’s asking if he talked to Bryan yet. Owens says Bryan said he’d think about it. Sami and Owens hug, but they’re uncertain about the future tonight.

Bobby Roode vs. Baron Corbin: This one is a non-title match, and Dolph Ziggler is on commentary. They lock up and go back and forth in the opening moments until Corbin takes control after an elbow. Roode fires back with a shot to Corbin’s knee, and sends Corbin to the floor. Corbin fights back into the ring with right hands, and now takes control of the match. Corbin hits a clothesline in the corner and continues working over Roode. Roode fights up and continues to focus his offensive efforts on Corbin’s knee. Roode charges forward but Corbin catches him. Corbin goes for a chokeslam but Roode escapes and hits a boot to the face. Roode misses a shot off the middle rope, then both men go down after colliding with clotheslines. Ziggler runs in now and drops Roode with a Zig Zag. The ref calls for the bell as fans boo.

Winner via DQ: Bobby Roode

– After the match, Ziggler turns his attention to Corbin, and he hits him with the Zig Zag too.

– We go backstage where Natalya approaches Tamina, Lana and Carmella about being lumberjacks at Clash. They don’t seem to be going for her pitch. Ruby Liv and Logan appear behind Natalya, and when Natalya notices she tries sucking up to them. She tries “warning” them about Charlotte, and says she’s honored to share the spotlight with the Riott Squad. Natalya laughs nervously and walks off.

– The announcers introduce a video package looking at the history between Jinder Mahal and WWE Champion AJ Styles, and their upcoming match as Clash of Champions.

Charlotte Flair vs. Tamina Snuka: Lana, Carmella and Natalya are all at ringside for this one. Charlotte and Tamina struggle for power in the opening moments, but Charlotte quickly takes control and drops Tamina. Tamina fights back up and whips Charlotte into the corner and out of the ring. Charlotte fights her way back in the ring, but Tamina rams her into the corner and hits a series of shoulder thrusts. Tamina slams her in the corner and taunts her. Tamina controls the next few moments as Lana looks on and nods in approval. Flair starts getting her second wind and hits some chops and a neckbreaker. Flair reverses a Samoan Drop and connects with a big boot on Tamina. Charlotte locks in the Figure Four and Tamina taps out.

Winner: Charlotte Flair

– After the match, Natalya gets on the apron and taunts Charlotte. She tells her to enjoy the taste of victory while she can, because she’ll beat her at Clash. Natalya keeps talking trash, until The Riott Squad interrupts. Ruby says she wants to give Charlotte a preview of what’s in store for her at Clash, and says the Riott Squad are the stars of the show. Sarah Logan shares a quote from her grandpa about people looking nervous, and then Liv Morgan chimes in that Charlotte looks nervous because she knows a riot is about to break out. Tamina has heard enough and she hits Logan, which starts a brawl. Everyone gets pulled apart while Charlotte retreats up the ramp with the Women’s Title.

– Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens approach Daniel Bryan backstage. They start bugging Bryan and Owens says it’s wrong that he’s going to be handcuffed. Security appears with the cuffs, and Bryan says he stands by Shane’s decision. Owens shakes his head as we go to commercial.

– Owens and Sami Zayn are out to ringside with Daniel Bryan and security. Owens refuses to be handcuffed to the rope, but Bryan says he’ll be suspended if he refuses. Owens agrees and throws a fit after the cuffs are locked.

– The announcers run down the card for Clash of Champions as Zayn gets ready for the main event, up next.

Randy Orton vs. Sami Zayn: The opening bell sounds and Orton backs Zayn into the corner and the fight spills out to ringside early on. Orton launches Sami over the announcers table, then back suplexes Sami on the top of the fan barricade. Orton then suplexes Sami onto the announce table. Back in the ring, Sami goes over to where Owens is cuffed and stays near him. Sami tries to get Orton from behind, but Orton decks him and they fight around ringside some more. Orton slams Sami on the announce table again. Sami comes back and whips Orton into the ring steps. Back in the ring, Sami starts working over Orton before once again taking him outside. Sami continues the offense on Orton and starts trash talking him. Orton starts firing up and hits a powerslam, which prompts Sami to roll outside for a breather. Sami starts looking for weapons, and ends up hitting Orton with a pair of bolt cutters. Sami tries to cut Owens’ cuffs off now, but Orton stops him and beats him down. Orton also gets a shot in on Owens, and Sami capitalizes on the distraction and hits Orton from behind. Sami goes up top, but he’s too slow and Orton knocks him down. Orton goes up and hits a superplex on Sami onto the mat. Owens now has the bolt cutters and breaks his cuff, but Orton immediately drops him. Orton then hits a DDT on Sami and looks for the RKO. Owens comes up on the apron but Orton sees it and kicks him, then looks for the DDT. Sami breaks it up and rolls up Orton for a two count. Orton goes for the RKO, Sami ducks and goes for the Helluva Kick, but Orton ducks that. Orton rolls up Sami out of the corner for the three count.

Winner: Randy Orton

– After the match, Owens attacks Orton from behind. Owens and Sami double team Orton until Nakamura comes out for the save. Nakamura starts handing out kicks and knees to Sami and Kevin, then hits the Kinshasa on Owens. Orton gets up and hits the RKO on Sami. Orton and Nakamura lock eyes, and it seems like they’ll be partners at Clash. Orton then gives Owens an RKO, and Nakamura gives Sami the Kinshasa.

– We go backstage where Shane and Daniel talk about that being a great finish to the show. Daniel asks if Owens and Sami are one being punished now, but Shane says he’s just getting started. Shane says he’ll be the special guest ref for Owens & Sami vs. Orton & Nakamura at Clash of Champions. Shane says if wens and Sami lose, they’ll be fired from all of WWE. Shane and Daniel watch as Orton and Nakamura celebrate and SmackDown goes off the air.

John Cena Gets Emotional During Morning Show Interview

4

We’ve noted that John Cena is doing an overseas tour to promote his new animated film, Ferdinand. “The Leader Of The Cenation” appeared on Good Morning Britain this morning and was asked about his proposal to his longtime girlfriend, Nikki Bella. Cena proposed to Bella following their WrestleMania 33 win over The Miz and Maryse in Mixed Tag Team action.

It’s been well documented that Cena was on the fence about getting married again after his first divorce back in 2012. His reluctance to remarry has been a key featured topic on E!’s Total Divas:

“She said yes,” Cena said. “I was extremely nervous, because the audience controls our program, and this was in a match with 75,000 people. You just get to the point where you think ‘man this is a good idea’, but then you’re like, ‘what if they start chanting ‘no! no! no!’.”

They showed a clip of the proposal and Piers Morgan pointed out Cena was actually getting a little emotional while watching:

“It’s the best moment of my life, and I couldn’t think of a better place to do it,” Cena stated. “The WWE has been my family for the past 15 years… we have such a strong connection to our audience. The crazy thing about that moment was that I was in a match, before that, and if you watch the match back, the audience hated me. But it’s such a show of respect that once the performance was over, they realize that this is a moment we are both going to remember for all of our lives.”

When Morgan asked how Cena would have reacted if Bella said no, Cena responded with a laugh, “I kind of put her in an environment where she couldn’t say no.”

Update On If Daniel Bryan Has Been Cleared By WWE

6

WWE SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan has been getting more involved in storylines over the past several weeks, leading many to believe that he could have possibly been cleared to return to in-ring action by WWE. Per a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “as of a few days ago” Bryan has still not been cleared by WWE:

Bryan is a four-time former WWE World Champion, having also held both the United States and Intercontinental Titles once as well. He announced his retirement from in-ring competition last year in February due to concussion-related injuries. Bryan had suffered at least 10 documented concussions during his wrestling career, but its believed that he suffered more than that. The injuries were so severe that Bryan often had post-concussion seizures which he kept quite from people.

In recent months there has been talk of a potential in-ring return for Bryan, whether it be with WWE or in a different promotion, as he has been cleared by several doctors to resume competition.

Kevin Owens Deletes Instagram Account After Nasty Rumor About Him Spreads

8

Kevin Owens was trending on Twitter yesterday, but not for a very good reason. There were screenshots going around on social media from Owens’ wife, which suggested that she had separated from “KO” because he had cheated on her. Owens then deleted his Instagram account and the rumor continued to spread even more.

It turns out that this story is, in fact, NOT TRUE as Owens’ wife took to Instagram to clear things up. She revealed that her account was hacked and the reason Kevin deleted his was because someone (most likely the same person who hacked hers) tried to get into his account as well:

Owens took to Twitter to comment on the situation:

The Reason Two Top 205 Live Stars Have Been Absent From WWE TV

7

WWE 205 Live fans have been noticing that two of the show’s top stars, Gran Metalik and TJP, have been missing from TV. The pair have missed the weekly program over the past several weeks.

Per a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, neither TJP or Metalik are injured but the creative team simply doesn’t have anything for them at the moment. The company doesn’t want them to travel around the country to simply not be used and left backstage, so they are currently at home until creative can work them into the mix somehow.

Both TJP and Metalik are some of the most talented in-ring performers on the 205 Live roster. TJP won the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament and was crowned the new champion of the Cruiserweight Division afterwards. Metalik made it to the finals of the Cruiserweight Tournament but lost out to Perkins in a great match.

Ken Anderson Discusses His Frustrations With WWE

0

Former WWE Superstar Ken Anderson (a.k.a. Mr. Kennedy) was recently a guest on WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast, The Steve Austin Show. During the show, Anderson discussed his frustrations with WWE, the differences between WWE and IMPACT Wrestling, and some advice he received from Paul Heyman. You can check out the highlights here below:

His frustrations with WWE:

“The thing that’s frustrating to me is that it seems to me that guys are told, and girls are told, exactly what to do paint-by-numbers,” Anderson said. “It’s not ‘just go out there and try some stuff and see what works and what doesn’t work’ and it’s just people are handed a script and told, ‘say this exactly verbatim.’ That’s what’s frustrating to me. I wish more people were given the opportunity to fail on their own or succeed on their own. That’s the only thing that really frustrates me.”

The differences between WWE and IMPACT Wrestling:

“When I was at the WWE, it felt like, at least towards the end, that everybody was walking around on eggshells. Everybody was worried that ‘tomorrow might be my last day if I say the wrong thing or do the wrong thing, I’m going to get fired.’ When I got to TNA… And I think that’s the sort of management style of WWE. It’s the way they always wanted everybody to be sort of on edge. When I got to TNA, it felt like, ‘go out there and do your job and do it to the best of your ability.’

“Cool. There weren’t any politics or anything like that in TNA and the biggest thing, the biggest difference, for me was Eric Bischoff was a big part of me coming to TNA. Like, and when I got there, he said, ‘I know that they’re sort of hamstringing you, to a degree, in WWE and telling you, ‘this is what you have to say – this is when you say it,’ he said, ‘I’m just going to give you bulletpoints. I don’t care how you get there, just here’s this main point we want to get to. You just figure out how Ken Anderson is going to get us there.’”

Advice he received from Paul Heyman:

“The interesting thing was Vince Russo and whoever else was writing at the time, would hand me a script and a lot of the times, I would call Paul Heyman,” Anderson revealed. “I was really good friends with Paul and I would say, ‘here’s what they got for me, here’s what I’m thinking, what do you think?’ and a lot of times, he would really help me out and come up with a better way to say everything and do it, so Paul actually wrote a lot of my stuff at TNA when I first started.”
