WWE COO Triple H recently did an interview with Good Morning Britain to talk about several professional wrestling topics. “The Game” discussed the possibility of having one last match with The Rock, Conor McGregor’s past trash-talk about WWE stars, and Ronda Rousey coming to WWE. You can check out the highlights here:
Having one more match with The Rock:
“Dwayne and I started our careers together, I’ve probably fought him more than anybody,” he said. “I’ve said it before, I’d love to dance with ‘The Great One’ one more time.
Conor McGregor’s past trash-talk about WWE stars:
“Conor McGregor has said a lot of stuff about WWE in the past–I don’t have a problem with it because he said I was a Don, which is great–but he said a lot of stuff about our talent in the past,” he said. “[If] Conor McGregor comes in, it’s not gonna be an easy go.”
Ronda Rousey in WWE:
“She is very interested in our business, always has been a huge fan, that’s where the ‘Rowdy Ronda’ came from,” Triple H said. “I think she’s interested in the opportunity, I’m interested in offering her the opportunity, so we have some talking do.”
– New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and Ring Of Honor (ROH) star Rocky Romero has issued out a challenge to Cody Rhodes for the ROH World Heavyweight Championship. Rhodes responded to Romero’s challenge by calling him out for calling the championship a “belt” instead of a “title”:
– IWGP United States Champ Kenny Omega recently visited the NJPW museum in Shibuya and checked out his own handprint which is on display. Check it out here:
Checked out the #NJPW museum at @hmvbooks_tokyo in Shibuya. It’s got a lot of Kenny Omega stuff so please come visit! pic.twitter.com/jkkWD9eBFO
There hasn’t been a genuine contender for the Intercontinental Championship on WWE for quite some time. The Miz has successfully held the title with the help of The Miztourage against the likes of Jason Jordan and Roman Reigns, but he has been focused on a power struggle with The Shield and Kurt Angle in recent weeks.
Survivor Series will see The Miz take on the United States Champion, Baron Corbin in a non-title championship showdown.
The next RAW PPV is The Royal Rumble in January, and it seems likely that The Miz will be able to hold on to his Intercontinental Championship until then. The interesting news comes from The Wrestling Observer which has provided inside information regarding the plan to have Braun Strowman as the next superstar to challenge The Miz for his title.
Between now and then, it looks like The Miz will want to keep Kane by his side but, if this is the plan, it won’t be long before Braun Strowman works his way through The Big Red Machine to make for The Miz and his IC title.
It wasn’t long ago that Braun Strowman took on Brock Lesnar. Here’s Paul Heyman’s take on the gigantic match at No Mercy:
Opinion:
Hopefully this will add some much need interest to the Intercontinental Championship which has taken a backseat while The Miz has played a key part in reuniting The Shield. The main question building up to this title challenge is: How could Braun Strowman not defeat The Miz? Even with The Miztourage, it seems like an obvious match to call.
Add Earl Hebner to the long list of people no longer with Impact Wrestling. He reportedly parted ways with the company earlier this week.
Hebner had a long career in WWE (1988-2005) before joining Impact back in 2006. He was inducted into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2015.
Earl Hebner is the fourth Impact referee to depart the company this week, along with his son Brian Hebner, Robert King and Brian Stiffler.
Impact Wrestling is headed to Canada this weekend for Bound For Glory and next week’s Impact tapings and will be using local referees for those shows to minimize production costs.
Other departures this week include Rockstar Spudd, Marshe Rockett and MJ Jenkins.
Bro. It’s been a while, bro, since we had a pole match on RAW.
WWE has announced that Monday’s RAW from Manchester, England will feature a “Guitar on a Pole” match between Elias and Jason Jordan.
According to WWE.com, “The contest, which can only be won when a Superstar retrieves the guitar and uses it on his opponent, promises to leave one of these competitors singing the blues.”
Also scheduled for RAW, Braun Strowman will square off against Kane. The opening segment of the show will see The Miz hosting Miz TV with his special guest, Kurt Angle.
RAW from Manchester be taped on Monday afternoon (Eastern time), so we’ll have full spoilers posted here at SEScoops.com hours before the show airs.
Jack Gallagher of 205 Live was the latest guest on Ring Rust Radio to promote An Extraordinary Gentleman, the documentary on his life that premieres this weekend in Manchester, England. Here are some highlights they sent in, with audio from the show available at the end of this article.
Ring Rust Radio: On November 5 at the Fab Café in Manchester, Figure Four Films will debut An Extraordinary Gentleman, a documentary focusing on your life and rise in the wrestling business. How were you first presented with this project and what were your initial thoughts on a documentary being made about you?
Jack Gallagher: I was first approached in the lead up to the Cruiserweight Classic by Adam Gill. He had previously made a film called Two Out of Three Falls that I had seen. It was a documentary about the British scene and how it evolved from the old World of Sport of Johnny Saint and Steve Grey era to the early 2000’s independent scene that we had. I was approached by him and the pitch was that I was a modern example of British style wrestling and it was almost in a way a spiritual sequel to his first documentary. The WWE link had a certain amount of interest in me there. It was actual fortuitous that by the end of the documentary I had signed a contract, so the film accidentally became about me getting to WWE.
Ring Rust Radio: Your first taste of WWE action came in the Cruiserweight Classic. How did you find out you were part of the tournament and how did you feel when the WWE Universe almost instantly took a liking to you and your character?
Jack Gallagher: I was first approached by William Regal who had sent me an email saying that there was something, nothing specific, but something coming up and that my style in particular and the way I carry myself probably best translated in a live environment, compared to sort of seeing me work out in the ring and go through drills and the usual try-out stuff. So, he had been helping me in that manner. I was overwhelmed because wrestling in the Classic was the first time I had ever competed in America at all, so I actually had no idea how Americans would take to me. Typically speaking and historically speaking, the English are put as the villains in your films over here, so I thought a very typical English person would get booed out of the building.
Ring Rust Radio: WWE has taken a huge interest in the British wrestling scene over the past year or so between utilizing you and Zack Sabre Jr. in the CWC, and holding the UK title tournament. How do you believe British wrestling as a whole has changed either for better or worse now that WWE has such a large influence?
Jack Gallagher: I think it’s mostly positive because trying to think for worse, how it is negatively affected, I’m not sure about the worst because I’m out of the scene. I think from looking outside of the scene now, it seems like it goes from strength to strength. A lot of people here who have been forced to pursue this part-time can now do this full-time. It has more exposure, more potential for travel which means more potential for earnings, so people can earn a better wage, and also it’s a glass ceiling that has been broken. It’s a path people can travel now. When I was beginning to train, I was thinking there were guys like Doug Williams who were phenomenal performers, but they still weren’t in WWE. Doug is a big stocky guy and whatnot and skinny little five-foot-eight me didn’t even have the dream or thought that I could make it to WWE. I thought at best I can make it to Japan and work there. Now you got guys like me, guys like Noam Dar, obviously Zack Sabre Jr. who competed in the classic, Pete Dunne the UK champion, Tyler Bate, Trent Seven, more than a handful of guys that have proven that there is a path from the training school to the top of the business and that’s the main takeaway I think.
Ring Rust Radio: In more than a year with WWE, your character has shown a lot of developments and you’ve been both beloved and hated by fans during that time. How much creative input do you have in the way your character is presented on television during your promos and matches?
Jack Gallagher: Not to plug the documentary, but a lot of this is talked in the documentary. A lot of what you see on screen isn’t fictitious, it’s usually just me being me. The lovable side is me on a good day and the side that’s been hated or as my wife affectively refers to is Angry Jack. In terms of creative input, you’ve got to understand that the majority of the writing staff is American and North American. They are very aware that none of them grew up in Britain as a young British lad, so when I say to them this is what I would probably say, I would not use this word, I would use this, or I wouldn’t do this I would do that, they are very open to it because I have a very clear idea as to who I am as a person and a fictional character. The relationship with Vince McMahon, he is surprisingly approachable. Growing up watching WWE or WWF as I did growing up, you think of Vince McMahon as this larger-than-life scary character. He is a larger-than-life character, but he is very welcoming, surprisingly charming, he sits down and if he has time in his busy schedule, which is rare, but if he has time in his schedule, he has time for anyone.
Ring Rust Radio: With a drastic character change over the last several weeks, do you prefer playing a face or a heel and what are some of the challenges you face trying to get over as the bad guy after, so many fans came to love you?
Jack Gallagher: I’ve always preferred being a good guy, but I think a lot of that has stemmed from being a smaller competitor. There’s a certain amount of menace that is difficult when you’re being villainous. I think every good and interesting bad guy in fictional history has had a certain amount of menace and danger to him. In terms of overcoming that physically that’s kind of difficult for me since I’m a smaller guy. I tend to default to things like Hannibal Lector and people like that for influences; kind of an intellectual sort of scary people. It was a strange trait and change I thought myself. I was enjoying what I was doing but then again, I thought this was something no one is going to see coming so it’ll probably work when I did a little bit of a switch.
Ring Rust Radio: You’ve been working closely with Brian Kendrick lately, forming one of the most interesting alliances in WWE. What has that been like for you, and how has working with a WWE veteran like him helped you?
Jack Gallagher: When we first arrived, and I say we as the British group Noam, Zack and myself. When we first arrived in America, the people that we were driving to the classic with because we all carpooled were TJP and Brian Kendrick. Brian was one of the first American wrestlers I had any interaction with in WWE. In fact, after my first match here, Brian got my contact information and complimented me, and we had a little bit of a talking about wrestling now and again and the business of it even before the cruiserweight division was a thought in anyone’s mind. It’s been really wonderful for me because I get to pick his brain and he obviously has the experience on me and in a strange way as well it occurred to me that when Brian first started in WWE his mentor was William Regal and he sort of has a reverse situation now where he’s mentoring a new little William Regal in WWE. I enjoy the sort of mirrored aspect of that.
Ring Rust Radio: Very early on in your career with WWE it was evident that you were somebody that would transcend the cruiserweight division. What do you think you need to do on your end to break away from the cruiserweight championship and into the conversation for the Universal championship and other main event-level opportunities?
Jack Gallagher: I don’t think it’s about breaking away from the cruiserweight division, I think it’s about elevating it in people’s mindsets. I think the 205 show on the network is currently fourth or third, it’s one of the most watched shows on the network. In fact, it’s probably higher watched than some of the wrestling shows on the network as well. I think it’s just overcoming the perception of people don’t like cruiserweights. I understand that’s the narrative that goes around where actually we get a lot of positive feedback both on social media and in person.
During WrestleMania Access with the amount of people that were big fans of the cruiserweight was startling to us. So, for me it’s not escaping the division, it’s about elevating it. NXT went from a developmental system which was considered a step down, to a completely separate brand unto itself where people are stars and they sell out stadiums and they tour by themselves. In my head I think, if we all work hard, then 205Live becomes good, the division becomes good, the division raises, and then there’s more opportunities and then there’s more interesting things for everyone as well.

– On Thursday, SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon announced that AJ Styles will challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship on next week’s SmackDown “Live” from Manchester, England.
Styles had been scheduled to face Rusev next week to earn a spot on Team SmackDown at Survivor Series, but Mahal’s attack on AJ Styles on Tuesday night led Shane to make the change.
In response to the news that he’s getting the title shot, AJ Styles wrote:
– Combat Zone Wrestling announced that Jimmy Jacobs vs. Sami Callihan has been signed for CZW’s upcoming Night of Infamy show on November 11th from Sewell, NJ.
Johnny Impact, who is set to challenge Eli Drake for the Global Title at this Sunday’s Bound For Glory PPV, recently spoke with The Mirror UK to promote the event. Here are the highlights:
Possible WWE return: “Yeah, it’s kind of tough to answer that question. Because wrestling is wrestling and you can never say never in wrestling. You never know what is going to happen in the next six months. There’s a ton of people in WWE who I haven’t had the chance to wrestle, who I would love to have matches with. But there’s still a ton of people outside of WWE who I haven’t had the chance to wrestle, who I would love to have matches with. I would love to see Lucha Underground continue to grow and become something bigger than what it is – the same for Impact. It feels rewarding to be a part of something from day one like Lucha Underground and see it grow to what it is now. We had a screening party to celebrate the season finale and we were celebrating that at the same time as building up for Bound for Glory. Then at the same time I had a huge title defence against Dr Wagner for AAA. So it’s a really good time and it’s a fun time and I don’t think I’ve ever been in this business where it felt there was a better time to be an independent wrestler than right now.” Facing Drake at the event: “Yeah, I’ve known Eli Drake for years because we both live in Los Angeles, but I had never worked with him prior to coming to Impact. I was really impressed. It’s going to sound like a backhanded compliment, but he really exceeded my expectations. He’s really stepped up his game. That’s the exact thing that Impact needs right now. Unfortunately for him, I can take even bigger steps, so when my game gets stepped up, he’s in trouble! That’s the exact word, underrated. He has levelled up his ring work, that’s really what I was mentioning just then. He’s always been heralded for his mic skills and they are still there, but he’s really stepped up his ring work, which is cool, because that’s what I feel the champion of a promotion needs to do.”
Former WWE Superstar Sean “X-Pac” Waltman talked about various topics during the latest episode of his podcast, X-Pac 12360. Here are the highlights:
Emma, Darren Young, and Summer Rae being released by WWE:
“I understand a lot more with Summer Rae but I would have given an opportunity for Darren to come back and actually have some matches. I am going to go out on a limb and say he’s not gonna have a hard time getting work in the independent scene, if he chooses. And Emma, I’m bummed out by that , I was kinda rooting for her because there are a ton of girls that are more gifted athletically and what not, but she really goes out there and works her butt off. Here’s the thing, these things are bumps in the road or roadblocks we run into in life or in your career. They are most often timed opportunities in disguise and I believe Emma will do just fine, I believe Darren will be just as fine as well.” Lio Rush’s tweet about Emma being released:
“I did see the Lio Rush thing , it was a bummer … but it got blown way out of proportion…And I didn’t realize everyone had piled on him when I commented on it. I quoted his tweet, I just said ‘sad to see this from you,’ because I was one of the guys that put in a word for him. All this backlash should be the end of it, that should be the consequence and that’s it.”
Daniel Bryan wanting to return to the ring:
“I just think that a person should do the things that make them happy. I’d hate to see somebody go and cause any more long-term damage health wise. But we have our journeys and he has to take his wherever he feels like taking it. It is more of a risk but here’s the thing, we’re all every single one of us, even the most healthy one of us are one bad bump away from being paralyzed for life, so there’s that way to look at it too. We can adjust and most of us do adjust our styles (In ring) over the years, as our bodies get more beat up. I would assume that Daniel (Bryan) would be mindful of these things before he steps in the ring.”
– US Weekly reports that Brandi Rhodes, wife of ROH World Champion Cody Rhodes, is joining the E! network’s hit reality series, ‘WAGS Atlanta.’ Based on the nature of the show, it seems likely that Cody Rhodes will appear on the series.

SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon announced on Twitter that Jinder Mahal will defend the WWE Championship against AJ Styles on next week’s show, which will be taped from Manchester, England.
WWE had previously announced that AJ Styles would face Rusev next week for the final spot on Smackdown Live’s Survivor Series team. In light of the news, Rusev says AJ Styles has effectively “quit” their match and he’s going to Survivor Series.
SmackDown Live Superstar Sami Zayn recently appeared on E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness podcast where he talked about his recent heel turn and more. Below are some of the highlights from his interview:
Vince McMahon’s vision being different than others:
“Vince’s vision is super-different and I kind of get when people call him a ‘genius’, I kind of get it in a sense because call it ‘genius’ or call it whatever you want, but there’s no debating that his mind works different than everybody else’s does, so everybody else will see things one way and he’ll see it one completely different way. So his vision for me as a heel was completely different from how I viewed it, but as soon as I did it for the first week or the second week, and now I’ve gotten a couple of house shows under my belt, I’m like, ‘oh, man. He’s so right!’ He’s right.”
His interactions with the Boss:
“My interactions with Vince have been a little bit more limited because I haven’t been involved in as many prominent storylines, so now, this is something that I feel he sunk his teeth into and just getting to pick his brain a tiny bit about how he views the character. But he didn’t even get into detail. Like, some of it was just, he would just say, ‘smile out there.’ I go, ‘really? Smile?’ He goes, ‘big smile out there.’ And then, I’d do it and I’m like, ‘oh, man! Of course! Like, it’s so much more heat than going out there and scowling and being like, ‘you guys all did me wrong! if you’re smiling, it’s just so much more obnoxious and so much more dislikable. And, again, it’s just such a simple thing and you start to see it. Once you execute it and it works, that’s like another little lightbulb that goes off in your head.”
His heel persona being similar to an ex-girlfriend:
“I’ll try to sum [the character] up as easily as I can. The analogy that I would give is it’s almost like when you’re dating a girl and she kind of has these quirks, but they’re lovable. But once you break up, it’s like, ‘oh, God! She was so annoying! She would always hog the blankets, she always wanted the room at 65º,’ or whatever. Do you know what I mean? Like, the things you used to love about her, now, you hate about her because you don’t love her anymore. So it’s almost to me, that’s where I’m at right now. It’s like, the character isn’t all-of-a-sudden dying his hair black and wearing eyeliner or something like that. It’s just he’s the same kind of he, now it just means something different because his intentions are different.”
On how he wanted to remain a babyface throughout his career but is now excited about being a heel:
“It was kind of a fantasy in the back of my head to one day kind of do the same thing as Steamboat, like have a great career, but have always been like a straight-laced babyface through-and-through, beginning to end. And I’ve done, like, a good job. I’ve done tiny, tiny heel stints, but nothing of substance. So, again, it was another one of those little heartbreak moments, but the second it’s over, it’s like, ‘man, what do we do now? There’s so much that can be done.’ So I’m very, very excited, but in full disclosure, the part that I don’t have full confidence in yet, but I’m sure it’ll come, is actually working, working, as a heel. I’m going to need to relearn this a little bit.”
WWE announced the following rules for the upcoming WarGames match set taking place at NXT Takeover later this month. The match will feature two rings inside a massive steel cage.
– Each group selects one member to start the bout inside the cage, while the remaining team members are locked inside shark cages by the entranceway.
– After five minutes, the final two members from one team enter the match, giving that group a brief yet brutal advantage.
– Three minutes later, the second team’s members are released, followed by the final team’s competitors following another three-minute period.
– Once all nine Superstars are inside the ruthless steel structure, the first competitor to pick up a pinfall or submission earns the victory for his side.
The three teams participating in the match include:
NXT Tag Team Champions SAnitY (Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe & Killian Dain)
The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish)
Following the departures of Rockstar Spud and Marshe Rockett, several more performers are no longer with Impact Wrestling, including Knockout MJ Jenkins and referees Brian Hebner and Robert King.
Hebner said he was granted his release upon request and thanked everybody in the locker room.
Wanted to let everyone know that I have asked & been granted my release from @IMPACTWRESTLING ! Thanks to my locker room, Ur the best! #123
Impact Wrestling is headed to Canada this weekend for Bound For Glory and next week’s Impact tapings. The company will be using local referees for the shows to minimize production costs.
Summer Rae posted the following on Instagram about her WWE career:
“They say you’ll never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory. Well that wasn’t true in this situation. I knew the value of this moment, I knew the magnitude of this moment. I hear some of you say “but you didn’t become champ”, “you didn’t get the push you deserved”, “you didn’t get a title run”. But see, I got MY title. I became a WWE Diva.
In this picture [below], my in ring debut on TV, I knew the value of that moment. In that moment I became a WWE Diva. I could take a small, very small breath of relief because I did it! For so many years I dreamt of stepping onto that main stage of Monday Night Raw & then getting into that ring with these strong, beautiful, smart & courageous women. I wanted to be one of them. I knew I could be one of them! I felt it SO deep down in my heart. Once it happened I of course set more goals for myself within the company & trained harder to reach them.
But the people that flood my comments with these things that I ‘should have’ gotten — you guys are missing the overall dream that I achieved. That I went to Monday Night RAW as a fan & sat in the crowd & watched the girls & wanted that more than anything I had ever felt in my body ever before. Then, I did it. I did it. ? I’ve wrestled in over 15 countries on 4 continents & made friends in fans all over the world. I have had the opportunity to live out my dream! And that is because God blessed me with obtaining my dream through hard work & determination. So please don’t fight with one another about me & start boards about Justice for Summer Rae.
Know that I DID IT! I am a WWE Diva, a WWE Superstar. And no one will ever be able to take that away from me! ??”
A promotional poster for WWE Survivor Series has leaked online and reveals a major spoiler for the main event Champion vs. Champion match between Brock Lesnar and Jinder Mahal.
It’s been rumored that WWE is planning to add a special guest referee to the match, with John Cena, Steve Austin and even The Rock floated as possibilities.
As seen below, “free agent” John Cena is featured between the two competitors wearing a referee’s shirt. Cena has been away since No mercy, when he lost to Roman Reigns back at No Mercy in September.
Also depicted are Kurt Angle in new red ring gear and Roman Reigns, who has been out of action as a result of the recent medical outbreak that has plagued the WWE locker room. Reigns is expected back on WWE television on the final RAW before the pay-per-view.
It’s also worth noting that AJ Styles and Finn Balor appear, but have not yet been confirmed for the RAW vs. SmackDown team elimination match.
